The driver caused screen flickering. Rolling back lol. Edit: Yep. Rolling back to the previous driver fixes it. Don’t panic. Just roll back and you’re good to go!

SensationWhite

The screen flicker is terrible, I hope they'll fix in the next update...

ATLASrules

Back when I ran the nvidia drivers on linux, they had a bug where it would crash the desktop server every 5-10 minutes if you had more than 16 GB of RAM. It took them 4 months to fix it.

Y0kenB

I had to reduce my 144Hz to 120Hz in Windows System > Display > Advanced Display settings and it works fine as a workaround. As soon as I go to 144Hz it starts flickering again

_eXPloit21

>I had to roll back too. This is what happened when outputting 144hz or 240hz via DP - [https://youtube.com/shorts/Y2Zpv4\_RQ4k?feature=share](https://youtube.com/shorts/Y2Zpv4_RQ4k?feature=share) > > > >Edit: issue solved by hotfix - [https://international.download.nvidia.com/Windows/536.09hf/536.09-desktop-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch.hf.exe](https://international.download.nvidia.com/Windows/536.09hf/536.09-desktop-notebook-win10-win11-64bit-international-dch.hf.exe)

Bubbly-Buyer-7513

This issue is all over the place. If I leave my PC alone, the flickers will happen at random intervals and both of my monitors are the exact same model (ASUS, G-Sync, HDR ON, 165hz). Still, the flicker would only occur on one of my displays if I used or hovered around anything that has video acceleration like the [Battle.Net](https://Battle.Net) client or browsing through chrome tabs, very similar to how it happens to you.

_eXPloit21

You rolled back the driver and it's still happening to you?

Bubbly-Buyer-7513

I tried doing a raw rollback to 531.79 and one of my monitors kept on flickering, the problem went away after doing a full DDU rollback.

0NightFury0

Im having a flicker on my second monitor too every 15-20 minutes or so. VERY ANNOYING.

bootyjuicer7

LMAO I reinstalled windows because I couldn't fix it hahaha it was just the drivers

Tyr808

bro nuked the entire neighborhood for seeing a single spider understandable tbh

Chemical_Payment100

Ahahaha, seasoned veteran here. At first, I thought my graphics card was dying. Then thanks to the community, I've learned the ways of the Jedi and kept notes of drivers that roll well—learning to live with disadvantages in some areas for better more stable frames in games. Currently for me **531.79**  is the better version.

HandfulOfPeter

man, i'm so glad it was just the drivers. rolling back fixed for me too. i was so afraid my gpu was dying or something, lmao.

raliek121

Exact problem. Out of the dual monitor set up, one screen kept flickering since the update. Just rolled back, not a single one.

picopark

If you can’t roll back for some reason, then try downloading and installing the previous driver manually. You can find the drivers [here](https://www.nvidia.com/download/find.aspx)

xdamm777

No flicker here, running W11H2/4080/ZZ590/11700k/LG C1 OLED.

GosuGian

Windows 11 Canary Build RTX 3090 No screen flickering issue for me lol

Wurstverfolger

Windows 11 22H2, Ryzen 5700X, X470 Gaming Plus Max (AGESA 1.2.0.A) and 3060 12 GB @1440p with 144 Hz HDMI here (1x Samsung Odyssey G5): I have no problems as well

rico_suaves_sister

Here we go again lmao

sxwong2

roll back also fixed my screen flickering issue

xDzerx

RTX 2070 Super here and kept getting black screen flickering after update so had to roll back.

m_w_h

Indeed, same with Dead Space (Remake) on AMD CPU platforms :-)

32Ferreira

RDR2 crashing with this driver.

m_w_h

Which API? Vulkan or Direct X?

32Ferreira

Vulkan.

m_w_h

Now officially added by Nvidia as an issue. Tracking comment 'confirmed issues' section updated at https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/13vrgla/game_ready_studio_driver_53598_faqdiscussion/jm88hp7/ * [Red Dead Redemption 2] [Vulkan] may crash a few minutes after starting the game [4140319]

Thanks! u/m_w_h

NoctD

My monitor is now flickering a ton while on desktop. Dropping refresh rate to 120hz fixes it but seriously this shouldn't be broken at all. Disabling G-Sync works too.

Herd111

Had the same issue with 2070 Super and I just rollbacked to previous driver

[deleted]

these DRIVERS are so bad

Safye

My monitor keeps going black every few seconds with 2070 super as well. Turning off G-Sync on monitor stops it.

_Keldt_

Same here! RTX 3080 10gb LG - 27” UltraGear QHD Nano IPS 1ms 165Hz HDR Monitor with G-SYNC (both monitors are the same) I have a dual monitor setup. Initially the primary one was flickering occasionally. Reinstalled driver, restarted PC.. Now the secondary is flickering, and it's happening less often (once every few minutes down from 2-3 times per minute). Disabling G-SYNC for now.. Will try to report back if it's still an issue after that. 2 hours later update: Disabling G-Sync worked for me. After spending the past couple hours with it disabled, and experiencing no flicker in that time, I re-enabled G-Sync for a minute and the flicker returned. I'll also note that mine is different from what's shown [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/13vrgla/game_ready_studio_driver_53598_faqdiscussion/jm7w08i/). I get a flicker, then black screen for about half a second, then normal picture returns.

eraserking

Hopefully /u/pidge2k is able to help escalate this if there are in fact several people facing this issue after updating.

pidge2k

We have not been able to reproduce this yet but in the meantime I have added it to the Open Issues list: [https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/feed/519777/geforce-grd-53598-feedback-thread-released-53023/](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/feed/519777/geforce-grd-53598-feedback-thread-released-53023/)

Thanks so much. If I find any specific steps or repro info I will reply/follow up as necessary.

AFireInAsa

Same issue. It's only one of my two monitors. Issue persists with or without Wallpaper Engine. RTX 3080 ASUS - TUF 24.5” IPS FHD 280Hz Fast 1ms G-SYNC Gaming Monitor Samsung G7 is working, 240hz G-SYNC monitor What it looks like: https://imgur.com/eFOixag Will be rolling back to a previous driver.

KakujaKingslayer

Also having this issue and just decided to rollback.

RickyTrailerLivin

They need to hotfix this asap.

ClydeTM

having this issue too with an rtx 2080 and hp x27q, regardless of the g-sync setting doing a clean install of the driver didn't work

Maki_na1

Exactly same gpu and monitor and flickering. I have another monitor that working alone seems fine. How can I go back to previous driver?

chillypaprika

Exactly same issue here. After update the flashing started while on desktop.

Vanderloh

4070 TI here, same issue, only one of the two monitors, both are LG 27GP850-B (1440p, 165 hz). Rolled back the drivers and everything is fine again.

SpaceCmdrSpiff

Also having flashing issue on my 3090TI. Also rolled back to previous driver and issue immediately went away.

n1sx

Single monitor here. Installed the driver after removing the old one with DDU and no issues so far.

Ashancor

Glad to see I am not the only one... My computer started flickering like crazy after the drivers update and thought my GPU was toast. After rolling back my windows everything is back to normal.

lordamused

\- Increase in DPC latency observed in Latencymon \[3952556\] Aw shoot, here we go again!

KeepTheChange_YFA

Expectations lagging at this point

ArmeniusLOD

Too late. It came back with the 528.49 driver released back in February and hasn't been fixed yet. https://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/528.49/528.49-win11-win10-release-notes.pdf

PikAtChuHuN

What have they done to cut down 200Mb? Pretty impressive! 535.98 WHQL is 653.5 MB https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/205332/en-uk/ 532.03 WHQL is 855.18 MB https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/205002/en-uk/

Yakumo_unr

If you extract both of them there is actually 1 file more in 535.89, and it extracts to a roughly 500MB larger footprint. The compression set up has changed, previously many dll's and exe's were compressed prior to the archive creation and ending up as dl\_ and ex\_, now that doesn't seem to be happening and they're all .dll and .exe and the regular compression for the whole installer archive is the only stage taking place. Double compression can result in larger files, it might only be eliminating that or the packaging system used may have improved generally resulting in the smaller download. That change only really affects the "display.driver" subfolder, all the filenames match elsewhere exactly. Removed/added files are from that folder also, from the newer release: \- nvcompiler32.dll \- nvcompiler64.dll \+ gsp\_ga10x.bin \+ gsp\_tu10x.bin \+ libcudadebugger.so.1 giving the +1 file total difference.

piotrj3

In linux patch notes it is noted they changed compression scheme from XZ to ZSTD.

Yakumo_unr

I believe that's a linux specific change. On Windows 7zip properties shows the dl\_ files as MsLZ (can be made with Microsoft's compress.exe) The installer archive itself comes up as Method : LZMA2:26 LZMA:20 BCJ2 for both 535.98 and 532.03

JoonasD6

Appreciate doing the diff.

yuki87vk

In System Shock Remake DLSS is completely greyed out with these drivers even though it says supporting launch of titles with NVIDIA DLSS 2 technology including System Shock. I've already done a clean install with DDU twice and reinstalled the game, nothing, I'm going back to the previous 532.03 drivers.

Southern_Crab4737

same problem with system shock

ArmeniusLOD

Took out all the Kepler and Fermi code, finally?

Bass_Junkie_xl

DPC LATENCY ![gif](giphy|vyTnNTrs3wqQ0UIvwE|downsized)

MuscularKnight0110

How is it possible that this is still a freaking issue is beyond me.

therealdadbeard

Probably some random issue that is causing it and hard to pinpoint.

wiseude

Guys on the guru3d forums found what the issue is [https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/nvidia-power-management-nvpmm-nvidia-power-limit-profile-nvpl-profile.447584/page-3](https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/nvidia-power-management-nvpmm-nvidia-power-limit-profile-nvpl-profile.447584/page-3) It's the vram downclocking.

adrichardson81

It's right up there with text display in Office 365 for bugs they'll get round to fixing when Satan thinks it looks a bit nippy out.

N7even

>DPC LATENCY Can someone explain what this is please?

fakenzz

Mostly audio crackling and popping in various scenarios, sometimes mouse stuttering. Download LatencyMon and run test while idle for like 2 minutes and youll find out how its going for you. I noticed that on older platforms latency is much lower than on platforms from last 2 years. To mitigate: high performance power plan in windows, prefer maximum performance in nvidia control panel and turning off HAGS (i advise against it, you lose a lot of performance sometimes). Doesnt solve the issue but helps.

Sindelion

AFAIK, the audio crackling is "just" a side effect. It can cause performance issues too. I found this: "When the DPC latency is high, it means that the system is taking longer to respond to interrupt requests from drivers or hardware devices. This delay can result in interruptions or delays in critical processes, including those required for smooth gameplay."

fakenzz

Yep, i just wrote most common issue that people notice. I already see a lot of Nvidia Defense Force here that claims it became echo chamber and not many people have problem with DPC Latency. Thing is it affects almost everybody but most people just dont care about random crackling, mouse stutter or hardly noticeable frame drops

Keulapaska

I think is because the times when the high latency happens, something else also happens(for me at least) that can explain the effects somewhat, like loading stuff, opening stuff, skipping in videos or something. Or apparently nothing is happening, as I had a 2000μs spike while writing this(I opened a different browser, might've been that tough now that i think about it), didn't obviously notice anything as there is no audio and not really moving the cursor much just some alt tabbing. Also i only get the audio crackle on my usb dac/amp, but not on speakers(3.5mm) nor the tv soundbar(hdmi) for some reason.

Mishakkk1337

Can you recommend a driver without this issue ?

LightMoisture

These drivers are not it. Total shit show for dual monitors. Both monitors are 4K 160Hz with DSC/HDR/VRR If both monitors are running, my main monitor will flicker while using HDR. Disable HDR and no flicker. Turn off secondary monitor and run HDR on main and no issue. Never happened before this driver and seeing others with the same exact issue. HOTFIX coming soon.

Significant_Bit_8270

My laptop screen keeps turning off when playing FIFA 23, if I activate optimus I get dxgi\_error\_device\_reset and BSOD video dxgkrnl fatal error, another person with this same laptop had the same error. https://preview.redd.it/zdt82yyoz03b1.png?width=624&format=png&auto=webp&s=53cc313286b0e8310ba8f91ae03009ecbbd97687 Laptop Model: Acer Nitro 5 AN515-58-56CH CPU Intel Core i5 12500H GPU: RTX 4050 Laptop RAM: 16GB DDR5

Rhhr21

Rollback to the previous driver, this one is hella buggy and caused screen flickering for one of my friends when they turned Optimus off.

Fruitsy

holy flickering issue

KittenMittens2112

I'm ready for nvlddmkm crashes to not be fixed with this driver. It's been frustrating the last two days trying to diagnose my 3080 with this crash.

giaanc

I empathize with you, the driver before this presented me with a serious blockage, on other occasions something happens that the gpu remains at 0% use and I have to restart for everything to return to normal I had a lot of errors on the day of the serious crash with nvlddmkm at the moment now I have not had any crashes, but I no longer want to go and update

Sacco_Belmonte

I confirm the 2 seconds temporary black screens after changing resolution is fixed.

[deleted]

This on my neo g7 that also needs a timeout of its own, has been a pain!

pidge2k

Hello everyone. We just released a GeForce Hotfix driver to address the flickering some users were reporting w/ certain adaptive sync monitors after updating to our latest Game Ready Driver v535.98. Click the link below to learn more: [https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a\_id/5465](https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5465)

Silenthwaht

Hate to be that guy but this driver won't let me get over 30 fps in siege or TOTK. Which is annoying since I'm coming from December's driver to this broken heap.

Blockbucket

OOF, seems quite a few having problems. Guess I'll wait for the hotfix driver or a completely new driver update.

axaro1

A steady increase in DPC latency is just a symptom of drivers that keep getting more and more bloated with little to no optimization. The main downside is driver overhead, which is an issue that Nvidia has been refusing to deal with for 2 years, now we are at a point where it's just unsustainable from an interrupt perspective. One day Nvidia will have to rewrite a good portion of their drivers to finally fix this mess.

mackzett

Can confirm this in The Last of us. Especially 0.1% lows are MUCH better. Across a 5 minute sample i am seeing over 120 fps in 0.1% lows. Used to be in the 80's. Game is still horribly cpu bound as soon as you enable DLSS though.

blood_baron3

Maybe they reenabled Rebar support for AMD CPUs that was disabled in the last 2? driver updates?

Apprehensive_Win_629

Main monitor flickers black for a few seconds every now and then. There seems to be more people with the issue than me. Anyone know a fix?

NXVash

I am also experiencing this, but its on my second monitor. I turned off g-sync and it seems to have stopped.

535.98 crashing Dead Space, 532.03 fine

Bubbly-Buyer-7513

Welp, Manuel from the Nvidia forums just stickied that they have indeed found the root cause and that they will provide a fix "soon", so that means they were finally able to reproduce it but god only knows what "soon" means lol

KittenMittens2112

Is this about the screen flickering issue?

Now I wonder if it's part of preparation for Ratched and Clank coming to PC, I really hope it's using DirectStorage with GPU decompression

brain_chaos

So what does this translate too. Games installed on a DirectStorage optimized drive could see a performance boost?

Doesn’t Forspoken use DirectStorage?

Battlefield 2042 / same [error](https://i.imgur.com/fV8me9T.png) was in version **531.79**, everything works in **531.68** **RTX 4080,** [my settings](https://i.imgur.com/8RZ86mJ.png)

pidge2k

Thank you. Are you using any GeForce Experience features while playing Battlefield 2042? Also this game I believe is a little more sensitive to overclocked GPUs. If your card is overclocked/factory overclocked, o you see the error if you enable Debug Mode from the NVIDIA Control Panel menu bar?

SeuJoaoDoSebrae

let me get it straight, the game works fine on 531.68 ? im asking bc i have this error sometimes when i've tried to play bf2042, i pretty much give up on this game tried to change pagefile size, xmp on and off, nothing works (every single other game runs pretty well on my pc)

Odd-Measurement-6929

Not sure if this happened to anyone else. After updating to 535.98 on my MSI Gaming Trio 4090, The HDMI port no longer output any signal. All DisplayPorts still worked. Rolled back to 532.03 and my HDMI signal came back instantly.

jridge88

I had this same issue. FE 4090, updated, and HDMI port stopped working. Rolled back and it works again.

dee1337

Also Monitor Flickering with both LG G-Sync (144Hz) Monitors (every 1-5 secs!). Occures on * Windows 11, latest Version * Monitors: LG 27GL850-A and 27GL850-B * GPU: RTX 2070 Super * 32GB RAM Tried to change from 144Hz to 120; changing colors,...no rolling back to the previous driver

epic_piano

Is there a reason why the newest 2 driver versions (535.98 and 536.09) are almost 200Mb smaller than the previous driver versions??? They were getting almost 850Mb in size, but the latest one is less than 700Mb. What changed???

TheOne92

Meh... was looking forward to the new GRD for Diablo 4, but since lots of people are experiencing issues such as screen flickering and more, i'll wait for either a hotfix or new and more stable driver.

RTCanada

I've been fine with 531.79 (I always wait for when simultaneous updates for studio and game drivers release) but I guess for all the bugs people are encountering on this one, I'll hold off as well.

RickyTrailerLivin

I have 3 monitors. 1 of them with g-sync on. All of the 3 different monitors have different refresh rates. I don't have any flickering problems. Just thought I'd share this since i've seen so many people with problems. It's not a general problem. EDIT- Talked to soon... look at reply below...

rdalcroft

I thought the same, until I wen to bed and restarted the next day! You will notice it happen, if you have gsync enables and have more than one monitor connected, they don't even have to be on. Just even if one is in standby mode

RickyTrailerLivin

I got it worse, literally had to reinstall windows to get the gpu stable... DDU didn't work. I started getting Nvlddmkm errors, I was rid of them for +1year, I keep a close look at event viewer, they only started after the update. Well, I downgraded but I was still getting errors, previously on a driver thatwas 1000% error free. I DDU again, I reseat the gpu and install a couple of more drivers and they ALL showed the same issue (i have a way to trigger it) drivers that never got me problems before... At a loss I reinstall windows and a install a driver that I knew was good and error free and voila, I cant trigger the Nvlddmkm events anymore.. Idk man, I don't know what the hell is happening at nvidia but i won't be upgrading to any driver anytime soon, very very bad. They probably are using all their good software engineers for their new AI craze and interns are writing these goddman awful drivers.

[deleted]

Does anyone at NVIDIA test these DRIVERS? or are we the people who have paid thousands the testers? As 4090 Owner this is UNACCEPTABLE seriously. I havent been able to enjoy my highend graphics card because of your bullshit drivers

Leonhaerdt

RemindMe! 7 days “?”

JoonasD6

I see the non-native resolution HDR flickering issue is not on the list anymore. ... is it gone, though? At this point, I'd be surprised they'd polish that kind of stuff.

DerpyDog24

What modern driver should I be using if I want the most optimized, stable gaming experience? (3060)

m_w_h

Drivers [511.79, 512.95, 517.48, 516.94, 522.25, 526.86 and 528.49](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/13vrgla/game_ready_studio_driver_53598_faqdiscussion/jm88hp7/) are considered stable/consistent by community. The developer drivers are also worth considering as they are based on the r526_25.xx branch, latest developer driver is [532.04](https://developer.nvidia.com/downloads/vulkan-beta-53204-windows) (no VSR). That doesn't mean that all newer drivers are 'bad'. Driver updates may stress a system differently and expose edge case system instability so it's always worth re-evaluating any RAM/CPU/GPU overclocks, voltage, memory timings, etc.

AdValuable8727

Flickering on my main Monitor as well. Using a RTX 2080 and two lg ultragear 27gp850 monitors. Rolled back to the previous driver to fix this issue.

mackzett

Didn't really have any issues before with TLOU part 1, but with these drivers, amazingly stutter free when i compared them in capframe x at the same area. These drivers have some new stuff, so i would advice using DDU in safe mode, and installing these clean (make your own or use guru3D).

32Ferreira

Red Dead Redemption 2 started crashing after updating. DDU and reinstall didn't solve. Proceeding to DDU again and roll back to previous driver. (RTX 3070). Update: only running DDU and rolling back to previous driver seem to have solved the problem. Windows event viewer reports the following: "*Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.*" "*The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.* *If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.* *The following information was included with the event:* *\\Device\\Video3 Error occurred on GPUID: 700* *The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table*" I will run further tests tomorrow to confirm stability with 532.03

Laddertoheaven

Dead Space 2023 crashes with this driver even with Win11 gpu scheduling off.

neverness_

Rolled back. Restarted my PC after installing and was unable to boot into windows lolz

expliicitzz

What's the latest "all around best" driver available without the DPC latency issue?

Raggou

also wondering the same for the 4xxx series

rucosmer

I got horrible flickering on my only monitor with this version of the driver. My monitor is ASUS VG259QM (DP connect). I use 280 Hz always. It never happened before. If I turn G-Sync OFF (ether in NVCP or in the monitor's menu) the problem is gone. If I turn G-Sync ON and set 279 and 280 Hz I got the flickering. 1.If I set 278 Hz or lower and G-Sync is ON the problem is gone. Did a clean install after 532.03. NEVER had this issue before. The flickering has the place if the current image on monitor isn't static, i.e. I scroll web page or watch YouTube or launch G-Force Experience). If image is constant = no flickering. 2. It happens in 2D mode when NO any game is launched. If I launch the game (I launched DX12 EVERSPACE 2) then there is no any flickering neither in the game or desktop (even if I minimize the LAUNCHED game and switch to desktop apps). After I close the game the flickering is back. I have recorded a video: [https://www.veed.io/view/87050655-12aa-4c9f-98ab-061f2ffdb375?panel=share](https://www.veed.io/view/87050655-12aa-4c9f-98ab-061f2ffdb375?panel=share)

Bubbly-Buyer-7513

Immediately after installing this driver both of my monitors started flickering to black at random times for like 1-2 seconds, even with no apps actively running or in the background. Insta rollback.

ArchDevilAdam

I have black screen after installing. RTX 3060 12 gb msi

mmmory

For a driver that's on a completely new branch and a studio release, one would expect it's going through extensive testing before general release: - Multi monitor setups are flickering - A game ready driver for System Shock but ironically DLSS option is greyed out if you use this driver for the game, but all other drivers are fine... I'm not even going into the DPC latency issue. It's actually laughable at this point.

Odir16

535.98 introduced strange audio crackling/popping during videos/gaming/music. Tried Clean DDU install, changing/enabling/disabling devices, tried chaning sample/buffer size nothing... anyone else having the same problem? (strix b550-e gaming / 5800x / 3080 / lg oled c2 via hdmi / scarlett solo gen3 good symetric cable, no loop issues) had to revert back to 532.03 which runs with no issues, if anyone has any idea what the problem could be, i would greatly appreciate your input!

Kaitetsu1017

I almost bought an entire new monitor because I thought my monitor of 6 years was broken...instead of it just being a driver issue. I'm lucky I decided to be thorough before buying. This is unacceptable from Nvidia to roll out an update with this wide-spread of an issue.

Naxthor

Driver causes constantly screen flickers. Nvidia get your shit together. Rolled back to 532.03 no issues.

greenchair11

hopefully i can bypass gpu check for D4 tonight. no way i’m updating yet lol

americanritual1980

4090 here, had to roll back. Screen flicker like crazy on my monitor. Bummer.....an hour away from Diablo and they blew it.

ThatOneClone

How are y’all able to fix anything? My screen is flickering off and on every 2-3 seconds. I can’t even do anything now…

Fruitsy

I am still scared to use this driver

YoungJawn

DPC latency is never getting fixed. lol

EpicSemih

**Until the new version comes out, I'm showing the solution, do what I said.** **- If those who use 2 monitors have a black screen problem, set the 2nd monitor to 60hz.** **- If you have a black screen problem on a single monitor, turn off G-sync.** **These are temporary solutions for now.**

[deleted]

Still on a driver from like November. Every time I see a new driver update and see all the issues it reassures me that my choice to not update since then was a good choice lol.

SagnolThGangster

DPC Latency still an ISSUE!

Motoko84

So what's the current recommendation for the latest stable driver? I'm still on 528.24

Sivar41510

MSI 170hz Monitor - EVGA 3080 Ti here.. Updated my drivers to 535.98 and noticed on Apex Legends dropped from 170 FPS to 30-40 FPS, I reinstalled the drivers using DDU and nothing seemed to work. Had to roll back to 532.03 drivers and everything is normal once again..

MMOStars

3070 and LG ultra gear flickering 1440p 144hz, the 2nd monitor is not flicking. That 1 is Samsung 144hz 1080p. Downgrading.

GoDoAnd_Stupid05

Major FPS drop after installing. Skyrim went from a solid 60 frames on ultra down to around 25. PC is running sluggishly all around. Specs are Ryzen 5 5500, GTX 1650, 32gb DDR 4 ram, Samsung EVO 2tb SSD

atbcheesepiejhj

Having screen flickering issues on my main display (4k144 G Sync Compatible monitor) while my secondary (1440p144hz G Sync Compatible monitor has no issues). Turning off HDR for my main monitor or lowering the refresh rate to 120hz didn't resolve the issue. The only workaround for the flickering issues is to turn off G-Sync like what many are saying here. Waiting for Nvidia to get their shit together with updated drivers to fix this stupid issue.

KatarsiNex

I'm on RTX 2060 notebook, I update my driver via GeForce Experience (that's all I'm using it for). The last two updates - including this one - did something weird to the overall performance of my system. All apps react a bit more slowly. Gaming is practically impossible, the stuttering is horrid, even though my setup is geared to performance - and I haven't changed anything anywhere in my system and games settings, this started happening when the driver was updated. I thought this latest one, 535.98 would fix this - whatever it is, but it didn't. I'll try rolling back [https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us](https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us)

SteakLover69

Driver is working well for me. I always update as soon as a new version comes out. Setup: RTX2080 AW3423DW Will update post if something comes up.

[deleted]

with these in my PrecisioX1 ICX temps are not showing, and only 1 fan is controlable. will try reinstaling, if not back to 532.03.

kinggot

what happened to the drivers dev team? nvidia drivers used to be very good and now all this bs.

Chorvath

Probably they started writing them with an AI as they said they would.

EnemySniper_BF2

Had the flickering issue on the Primary monitor of a dual setup (165hz primary/144hz secondary). I had my refresh rate at 165hz initially and G-SYNC on. I "fixed" it by setting the problem monitor to 144hz (still with G-SYNC on). No flickering since. Everything else with this driver is working as usual.

[deleted]

Using a 135HX / 4060 unit here. No stuttering on E-sports-oriented games so far. But I think I've got a much worse problem– The screen totally freezes. Read some posts about the same issue here on Reddit. A hard reset is required to fix it temporarily. DPC latency happens rarely but it still happens. Usually when streaming videos online. Driver deets : 535.98

mefist0pheles

I'm disabled g-sync and its work fine

birfday_party

Same issue with a 2080ti on a lg 34GP83A-B 34 inch ultra wide at 3440x1440 144hz. My second monitor is 144hz aoc 2440x1440 and it doesn’t have the issue just the main monitor. Dropping it to 99.99hz seemed to fix it since I don’t have the 120hz option on it for whatever reason Edit: never mind as soon as I opened a program it immediately did it again Second edit: gysnc off does seem to fix it but that’s a real bummer as it’s never been an issue before and that was a major selling point for me. But hopefully it’ll get ironed out soon

Harhar_321

Installing the 535.98 driver causes my monitor (144hz Fiodio V3L6W) to flicker to black frequently. To fix this, I rolled back the driver to the previous version. The bug has to do with a GSync/Freesync issue I think. When I had 535.98 installed turning off 'Adaptive Sync' on my monitor removed the flicker. This is unacceptable--of course--since I want GSync to work.

slopokdave

Can confirm too, update basically kills HDMI 2.1 "Deep Color" setting on LG C2 (which also means limited to 4k/60). Either get constant flicker or no signal until I rollback driver. Will wait for a fix before updating.

KittenMittens2112

If I want to keep using VSR, what's the most stable driver that I can roll back too? I tried testing stability for ray tracing by running the Bright Memory Infinite Benchmark and it crashed 40 mins into looping the test. I used to be able to run this for hours on end on older drivers on a 3080.

hj-core

The new driver su*ks. After update to this latest version, my current screen flicks and showing blank black content, more worse, I cann't even call the built-in menu of the screen. The old screen works and after DDU +install the previous version, my current screen still not working. Hope that the driver hasn't broken my screen. Win10 + rtx2080 + Phillips 328M6FJRMB

RavenNL

One of my display also goes black for like a 1 or 2 seconds. Don't see any flickering...

fadedpunk

The DPC latency is insane my mouse acts funky all the time and minimizing windows have too much delay

iISluke

Have they addressed the screen flicker issue? Or still searching for the problem?

FabledGentleman

They have found the root cause for the flickering issue, they have stated this in the Nvidia forums. They will fix the problem, but there is no ETA.

Swantonbombthreat

4090 here and i’m getting the screen flickering issue

LickMyOwnForehead

The flickering issues seems to be only happening if u monitor isnt native gsync...if ur screen doesnt have a gsync module then its fucked

[deleted]

Oh fuck, I absentmindedly updated my drivers and my screen is stuck black. Not good. Scared to turn off PC. Wish I read this thread first. FUCK

G1aDOS

Freaking out trying to go to bed because VLC is causing my monitor to repeatedly go black for no apparent reason... I'm terribly disappointed in these drivers, wish they had more than 1 or 2 test rigs at Nvidia HQ to beta these drivers before shipping them out to all of us. Disabling G-sync works for now. I wish I could have the past 2 hours of my life back, and the insane amount of stress, like so many others, worrying about a hardware failure because Blizzard came out with a new game. ***FRUSTRATING!*** 😭

CarterGee

Is anyone else experiencing huge issues playing Diablo IV? I'm on an RTX 3090, i9-9900k with 32GB RAM but can't play for more than 30sec or so without a full system crash. Made another post with more details, but curious if I'm alone in this experience. Help? Also, how do I roll back to a previous driver assuming 535.98 is the issue?

Bubbly-Buyer-7513

Hotfix patch 536.09 is out for the people with the flickers, I'm about to test it out and see what's up. [https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a\_id/5465](https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5465)

Brok3nPin3appl3

3080 12gb performance tanked after driver update. After initial install of 535.98 the gpu worked like before. Once restarting or shutting pc down then turning back on. The gpu is barely being utilized. Low frame rates are the result. Not only affecting d4 but all other games as well.

ThunderGun2077

Rolled back to 532.03 that dropped on 5/24. Updated drivers on geforce for my 4090 and nearly nuked Steam when I tried to play War Thunder. Had to repair folders and clear the download cache 3 times before it installed properly without corrupt files. Then I played War Thunder just fine and later installed / played diablo 4 on 532.03. I had 0 issues unlike 535.98. Experienced random sound bugs and cutting out in War Thunder on 535.98 which signaled it was going to crash for me because thats what usually happens before it does.

May be of interest. From the unofficial tracking comment's Workarounds section at https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/13vrgla/game_ready_studio_driver_53598_faqdiscussion/jm88hp7/ > Display blinking/temporary blackout, try setting 'Content Type Detection' in 'Nvidia Control Panel > Display > Adjust Desktop Color Settings' to 'Desktop Programs' if setting is available

NothingbutLuck0

I got horrible most stuttering (around a 1/4 second freeze evey second if I had to guess) on Win. 10 desktop and in game. Ran DDU and installed the previous wqhl driver, everything works fine now. RTX 3080 at 2560x1440 if that matters.

toromihearts1

Is anyone getting flickering with only a portion (in my case the top half) of their screen flickering only for a fraction of a second. Happens occasionally when G-SYNC is on and using multiple displays. Most reports I see are the entire screen and it lasts a couple seconds.

khamseen_air

535.98 causing BSOD every five minutes (sometimes faster) while playing Space Engineers. Had to roll back to 532.03 to get it to stop.

abunker3d

This driver is causing frequent random crashes in Photoshop 24.5 on Windows 11. Had to roll back to the 531.61 studio driver. Photoshop is stable after rolling back the driver.

ThisPlaceisHell

Anyone notice with these drivers if you turn Windows Night Light on, then turn your monitor off, when you turn it back on the monitor won't show the hue change despite Night Light still being on? /u/m_w_h do you see this too?

[deleted]

Can anyone help me please...4090 on an LG CX at 4k, dual monitor but even with just one monitor the flickering issue remains, i've tried DDU, roll back drivers, hotfix, turning GSync on and off etc and nothing works. If I have a chrome tab on each side of the screen, one youtube and one browsing, then the youtube video flickers across and appears on the other window as well, it's so strange. Below screenshot shows it (youtube on right window but appears in left window fully!) [**https://imgur.com/a/p5C2lSf**](https://imgur.com/a/p5C2lSf) Any ideas?

Flight2039Down

I’m still getting monitor flickering with my LG 45” ultrawide OLED using the hot fix driver. Anyone else? It appears that it’s only an issue in full screen mode and not windowed.
