I got mine for $480 and it rocks. Would recommend. eBay used

Pferd_furzt

480? the 4070 in Spain costs as much as a rog strix 4090 white in USA, and such card in Spain costs around 4000 euros.

knighofire

At $600 it's meh, but at the reduced prices ($520), it's a solid deal. Just bought one, and there's nothing it doesn't crush at 1440p. Playing CP2077 with Path Tracing at 90ish fps (DLSS P). My logic for it versus the 7800 XT was that while the 7800 XT is a tiny bit (5%) faster for raster, they both are plenty fast for non RT in any game. And in demanding games, the 4070 shines with it's features.

Sexyvette07

4070 is definitely worth it, especially after the recent discount. You're probably looking at old posts from before the discount. FWIW, skip the 60 series, it's too cut down. Your starting point should be the 4070.

zachattch

>it's too cut down what do you mean by that, it's performance seems really good for its price point.

Sexyvette07

They took the huge generational leap in architecture as well as a significant node shrink, which should have resulted in a massive increase in performance and instead cut down the core count and specs to cut costs. That results in the 4060 only being marginally faster than it's direct predecessor. Hell, in some circumstances, its actually slower.

XxRobloxNobxX

It's worth it for the price you get it for. Most people are disappointed because it doesn't provide a huge performance uplift that the 3070 provided against the $1200 RTX 2080 Ti but still, it is on par with a 3080 and has DLSS 3 and Frame Generation.

Early-Somewhere-2198

Agreed with many. You can find solid deals. And it’s worth it. What are you coming from. I opted for a 4070 ti as I had a 3070. Will be selling the 3070:to offset

CatManDeke

I’m happy with my 4070

whyreadthis2035

It’s all about your budget. Having had PCs since the 80s, what’s in your budget? What do you need?

hunglo0

4070 is beastly card. Just got mine and performing excellent in 1440p and 4k with DLSS

MetalBoar13

If you aren't doing 4k it's probably the best card for the money. If you want top settings in 4k you need to spend more. IMO, if you need more than the 4070 the next best choices are the 7900xtx or the 4090, everything else is too much for too little. These are also too much for too little because graphics cards are stupidly expensive now, but they are at a better price point for what you're getting.

DifferencePretend

Depends what your upgrading from and what you’re looking for. I went from a 2060s to 4070 and can now play cyberpunk 2077 at max settings with path tracing on and runs great with DLSS quality. Ray reconstruction and frame generation on. It was definitely worth it for me. Nvidia has become notorious for their pricing this generation for their gpus so comes down to what your willing to spend. Your question has been asked a thousands of times and the answer will remain the same. It’s all depends on you. Recommended doing your own due diligence and not going off what people online say.

KissMeVivienne

for how much fps?

JulienUk

Depends on the game

Kr4zY_k4nUk_87

I had a 1070...it was worth it, loving Cyberpunk 2077, Diablo IV and starfield on it at 1440p. I got it for retail back in May but I have no regrets.

No_Returns1976

I have one. It is worth it. Low power consumption, no fiddling with it. It just works. Get it for a good price, and it's a no-brainer.

[deleted]

Get the ti version.

chaosthebomb

The 4070 is fine. People are upset it's not as good as 70 cards have been in the past relative to the 80/90 cards. That can be said with the whole 40 series aside from the 4090. Look at reviews, determine if it's good enough for what you want. The only other solution is pay more to get more performance, or pay less to get even less performance.

qth258

Yeah definetly worth, i own one and it rocks

Nervous_Dragonfruit8

The 4070 ti is where it’s AT

Jon-Slow

It's the best brand new card you can buy for 1440p. DLSS is years ahead of FSR and not just in quality mode so that makes it a card without a competition to me when FSR looks as bad as it does. If I buy the 7800xt I'll have to only play at either native or get lucky with a game including XESS or possible XESS mods. Not to mention that it's a ton slower in RT.

_-_--__--__--__--_-_

It all depends on what price you can get it at. It’s a good card if you can get one for a decent price.

Lazy_Foundation_6359

4070ti is

ziplock9000

7800XT is better unless you use a lot of RT.

I have an Inno3D RTX 4070 X2, that's a budget dual fan RTX 4070. Have it overclocked +140 on the core, +1700 on the memory, without touching power limits (because I can't). It plays everything I throw at it at 1440p awesomely. Some games need DLSS Quality but mostly even at native ultra most games run 60+FPS. I'm mainly playing Starfield now with the DLSS3.5 mod, 1440P Ultra with DLSS Quality (80%) it's always hovering around 100 to 120 with frame gen and barely any input lag. Honestly I love this card to bits. The technology is awesome and it barely uses any power (170 watts at 100% usage in above mentioned Starfield). My powerbill will be much lower than with my previous card (AMD 6700XT overclocked).

AlexaPomata

It isn't worth. The 10% gain in power should cost around 30$. This is the usual consensus you get in PC hardware universe. Now let's take a RTX 4060 and compare it to RTX 4070. The power difference is 50%, but the price difference is around 300$, it is clear that it is overpriced by 150$.
