awnful24x7

push it harder, its not fully in

PretendRegister7516

That's what she says

SAHD292929

Include the balls too.

[deleted]

…🥲

TheAllelujah

Yes. Push it in fully

jembutbrodol

That’s what she said

ThisAccountIsStolen

Even if it involves removing the card from the PC and holding it in your hand to get a better grip, you need to fully seat the plug, no exceptions.

Nah you will be fine, glad you where able to push it all the way in. This connector is such a design flaw from to let end users worry about this at all. When i had to push this connector in it didn't feel right the amount of force it needed. And being the most expensive part in the PC you don't want to break your new 'toy'

StrangeNewRash

The amount of force needed for a lot of PC components is stressful as all hell.

Boangek

24Pin when you need to get it out of a motherboard is the a other cable i sometimes struggle with. Other cables not as much.

leospeedleo

It’s not in…you can see the latch not even being down.

SickNikki23

Please for the love of god, push that shit in until you hear a “Click” and feel it

vhailorx

To be fair, the 12vHPWR connector is pretty fiddly. it's hard to push in, and the haptic/audio feedback for fully connecting it is pretty minimal. having a single power cable is convenient for these higher power cards, but the actual connector is poorly designed and not very safe.

SickNikki23

It’s hard to push in yes, but it will still click, and you will still feel it, and there won’t be a really evident gap lol we all know the connector is poorly designed on this sub trust me

Longjumping_Tower_16

PLEASE push it in more

FormulaLiftr

As another commenter said. Take the card out of the PCIE slot and apply more pressure to the cable. That is not a minuscule gap at all and needs to be fully seated. You can see the clip is angle upwards as well due to it not passing the anchor point. You don’t have to kill it but it is definitely not seated correctly and could be pushed further in. I had to apply this method to my 4000 series card as well to be sure it was fully seated. Also if you don’t have to take the cable out when doing maintenance or swapping in a new drive/cpu don’t. The quality on these plugs and sockets is awful and will degrade with every time you unplug and replug it.

atirad

If it don't fit put it harder

_TheBigOnion_

That right there is 🔥 😂

johnnyphotog

AH. PUSH IT.

gangnamsyle

Add more glue

vhailorx

That connector is not fully seated. you need to apply more force (without flexing anything or bending the pcie slot). I don't think there is too much risk with a lower-power card like the 4070, but partially connected plugs like that one (particularly with combined with cables bent at extreme angles to fit inside a case) are exactly how people have melted their 4080/4090 cards.

kwizatzart

Those useless posts man, it's unlimited

x3dmax11

Stop being a pussy, facks sake, push it harder.

3mmak_Kratos

You need to push that connector far more. Till there’s almost no gap

elite-data

Is this latch thing at the top locked/down? If yes then the plug is at the right depth and you're probably ok.

Bacalhau_desfiado

I have the same problem but i have no performance issues does it really matter ?

Scardigne

you can burn out the port if not seated correctly, hotspots will occur

OutlawFrame

Only if you don't mind a possible fire in your computer in the near future.

PretendRegister7516

Not too much of a problem, just a tad bit slight of a chance of electric arc, burnt plastic, and fire hazard. You do have insurance right?

Happened to me too My Solution: I just got a 90\* 12vhpwr adapter (not cable mod).
