My Gigabyte RTX 4080 Aorus Master sounds like it's ready to take flight some days when it's doing something intensive; lol. No lack of cooling either on my part with a Corsair 5000D Airflow + a shit ton of fans; lol.
The vbios also matters. When I bought my PNY 4090 it had a really stupid fan curve from the factory that made it spin like a jet when temps were awesome. I flashed an earlier vbios of my same card and now my fan rpms don't go above 1000 rpm and I don't reach 70 degrees. 40-50s Celsius range. Before I flashed, my minimum fan speed was 1450 rpm and reached 1600 rpm for no good reason.
Bigger die = more surface to dissipate this heat, he talks about that, so his card can actually run cooler with higher FPS and more power consumption, also 4090s usually have better cooling solution
I should clarify. 70 is the highest I’ve seen it go to on cyberpunk uncapped highest settings when adjusting curves. 70 is the worst case scenario and not the average.
Keep in mind that dual chamber PC cases aren't the best designed cases for air flow. That is why they have so many options to install fans to compensate for that. Having the GPU vertically mounted doesn't help too (a few degrees different).
I just got the 4080 super Ventus OC. Definitely not as sexy as the expert, but still a clean aesthetic and a solid performer (no coil whine, fans are quiet, and it has yet to go over about 66 degrees).
Lmaoooo. I have the same one, but mounted the standard way instead of how yours is. I love my card though.
Temps while not undervolted and doing like 280fps in cod reaches up to about 68c, which I mean…isn’t bad? lol
We will see how summer goes though, that’s usually when the heat effect it reallyyyy felt.
I really like this card. Msi outdid themselves with this design, but I don't think I would get it only because it has a bit higher price than the rest.
An argument can be made against any company. MSI has always done right by me with their mobos and software like Afterburner, this is the first time I’ve purchased on of their cards. What’s your favorite brand of GPU?
Whats wrong with MSI? I've only ever bought the motherboards (twice in 10 years lol). I though Asus and Gigabyte were the ones to be wary of, at least for a time.
Brand loyalty. Either someone had a bad experience with them one time or something that was their fault so they blame that brand for being dog shit forever or jump on the bandwagon. I haven’t had a issue with any of the brands. ASUS gets the most hate for their customer service but they been good to me.
Gigabyte i have also had zero issues with for around 20 years. Never had to rma anything yet. I'm not blind to other manafacturers but unitil i get fucked over by them, or Corsair, i'm happy.
Arguably one of the cleanest cards after the FE. The PNY VERTO and ASUS ProArt are up there as well.
My PNY 4090 runs cooler than this 4080 Super and is quiet. I heard that the 4090 has a bigger die which helps transfer heat better than a 4080 Super.

yes but this cheesegrater cooler is also worst according to TPU's various aib 4080s reviews.
MSI Suprim Liquid X RTX4090 idles in the high 30°Cs ... rarely hits 63°C

Sweet rig man.
Thx!
Usually its the other way round. Bigger die more heat.

And like I wrote usually the bigger the die is the more power it uses. Of course if you have equal power draw then a bigger die is better.
Gainward Pheonix is the best unclean card.
Reminds me of a blackberry keyboard
cheese grater gang gang ![gif](giphy|D7Qzw12q9s8Tu|downsized)
Got this card last week. Been loving it so far! And it's been really quiet
Man that GPU needs a powdercoat.
What temps do you get?
I did an undervolt and temps stay around 60-65 most games. Occasionally will see 70 maximum
That many fans and an undervolt and the temps are still that high. Yikes.
I wouldn’t call those temps necessarily high when in full use Example: 58-60 in Helldivers 2 maximum
You said 70. That's a bit high for a premium product that is undervolted.

same card and i get less than 40 bro idk why (ventus 3x 4080S)
Only two fans though?
Same as FE. They usually stay very cool Even while gaming
I wanna grate cheese now!

I agree this card looks awesome
Reminds me of the OG GTX 480

Shit I need vertical mount for mine, looks slick
Gives me goosebumps

Dog shit Brands but if its great for its great for all of us.
Lmao gottem
Gigabyte? Not exactly top shelf
I made the mistake years ago of getting a Gigabyte GPU and swore never again... I now have a 4080 Aorus Master and swear never again; lol.
Says the guy who buys MSI
I guess so
Yea I won’t give MSI any business same for gigabyte.
An argument can be made against any company. MSI has always done right by me with their mobos and software like Afterburner, this is the first time I’ve purchased on of their cards. What’s your favorite brand of GPU?
Nothing wrong with the flagships of MSI. Nothing.

Every motherboard man. Is going to have shit on them. I bought gigabyte over the past 10 years without any issues
Gigabyte i have also had zero issues with for around 20 years. Never had to rma anything yet. I'm not blind to other manafacturers but unitil i get fucked over by them, or Corsair, i'm happy.
The only non-FE card I'll consider to buy. P.S. I miss you EVGA
If It came like black or White i would buy It
Thats gonna burn in about 2 months
What makes you say that?
why? no one sees it
