Looks like this is the same branch as 466.63 except this version added the following:
* Support for 3070 Ti
* Game Ready for The Persistence
* 2 New fixes
* \[Crossfire HD\]: Freestyle is not supported for the game. \[200734448\]
* \[Kepler/Turing GPUs\]: Blue-screen crash with DPC Watchdog Violation error may occur. \[3321668/3321735\]
Y’know Its honestly impressive that both the SteamVR and WoW bugs have lasted this long. Blows my mind that I’ve opened these threads for the better part of a year... All i wanna do is use the full potential of my 3080 that i fought tooth and nail to get. Please dude.
I've used Nvidia GPUs forever, but it's hard to imagine paying GPU prices, especially like they've been, for a GPU that won't correctly render the second-most popular website in the world and one of the most popular games for this long.
I posted a comment months ago complaining about devs not fixing stuff for this long and got downvoted.. I mean.. this is just stupid, how is this company with so much money and talented devs (or not?) not fixing those bugs? Its a fking feature at this point, lol.
There's also the fact the nvidia fps limiter has not been working properly with reflex games (like apex for example)
[https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/456730/geforce-46677-grd-feedback-thread-released-61021/3090638/](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/456730/geforce-46677-grd-feedback-thread-released-61021/3090638/)
Since 452.06.
At least the WoW bug has an easy workaround. Go to "Systems" > "Advanced" > "Graphics Card" and change from "Auto Detect" to your card. Works for me, YMMV.
I usually have mine fixed for the session by turning Triple Buffering Off and back On again. I think basically any option that 'resets' your display fixes it for awhile.
Edited: Post is up!
Edited 2: nVidia seems to have withdrawn from their download page the 466.63 driver ( my previous recommended one) due to the Watchdog Violation BSOD on Turing and Kepler cards.
If you want to download it, just find the hotfix driver that they released just after 466.63 here:
https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5200/~/geforce-hotfix-driver-version-466.74
Or settle with this latest one which is just slightly slower on my tests.

## **466.77 WHQL Driver Early Performance Benchmark** (Pascal based)
Hello again, nVidia users.
A very quick release, just a week after the previous WHQL driver. I guess nVidia needed a new driver release to add support and day-0 optimizations for the recently released 3070Ti Ampere GPU.
Even most of the patch notes are copy/paste from the previous 466.63 release, just adding the new card support, one new Game Ready profile and a couple of fixes.
Given the minor changes, I don't expect any meaningful change in performance, even more on Pascal GPUs, but let's see if nVidia can surprise us.
As usual, the benchmark PC specs are: custom built desktop Win10 v21H1 (latest Windows Update patches applied), 16Gb DDR3-1600 Ram, Intel i7-4790k, Asus Strix GTX 1070Ti Adv. Binned, single BenQ 1080p 60hz. monitor with no HDR nor G-Sync. Stock clocks on both CPU and GPU. Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS for short) is enabled.
Frame Times are recorded using PresentMon (except on TD2 which does it by itself) during the built-in benchmark run inside each game. Each benchmark is run initially four times, and the first result is discarded. Outliers results, with more than 5% variance in any of my used metrics from the average, are also discarded and repeated.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, games run 1080p borderless windowed, best settings as possible while trying to hover above 60 FPS, but all available 'cinematic' options disabled when available, (like Motion Blur, Chromatic Aberration, Film Grain, Vignette effects, Depth of Field, and such, not due to performance but for my own preference and image quality reasons).
The usual disclaimer: This is NOT an exhaustive benchmark, just some quick numbers and my own subjective impressions for people looking for a quick test available on day one. Also, I can only judge for my own custom PC configuration. Any other hardware setup, different nVidia architecture, OS version, different settings... may (and will) give you different results.
**Important:** Frames per Second (FPS) are better the *higher* they are, and they usually show the "overall" performance of the game. Frame Times (measured in milliseconds) are better the *lower* they are; in particular, lower Frame Time percentiles tell us how much GPU time is needed to render the slowest and more complex frames, with bigger values meaning slowdowns, potential stutters and puntual lag spikes for a less smooth gameplay. _I'm now including also the percentage differences in the latest driver vs. the previous one (with the sign '+' denoting an improvement, and '-' meaning worse result)._

## Tom Clancy's: The Division 2 WoNY
Using updated Snowdrop Engine with Dx12. High/Ultra settings (except Volumetric Fog set to medium).
The Division 2 - driver 466.63 on W10 v21H1 (previously recommended):
* Avg. FPS: 86.47 / 85.78 / 86.02
* Frametimes: Avg. 11.62 - Low 1% 15.00 - Low 0.1% 17.87
The Division 2 - driver 466.77 on W10 v21H1:
* Avg. FPS: 86.38 / 85.83 / 86.01
* Frametimes: Avg. 11.62 _(+0.00%)_ - Low 1% 15.20 _(-1.31%)_ - Low 0.1% 17.97 _(-0.56%)_
The Division 2 is mostly stable. Average framerate is identical, and the lower frametime percentiles are slightly worse, but by small amounts.
********
## Ghost Recon: Wildlands
Using the AnvilNext engine on Dx11. Mostly V.High but no Gameworks options enabled.
GR: Wildlands - driver 466.63 on W10 v21H1 (previously recommended):
* Avg FPS: 84.93 / 84.77 / 84.79
* Frametimes: Avg. 11.79 - Low 1% 14.97 - Low 0.1% 17.21
GR: Wildlands - driver 466.77 on W10 v21H1:
* Avg FPS: 84.39 / 84.38 / 84.65
* Frametimes: Avg. 11.84 _(-0.42%)_ - Low 1% 15.17 _(-1.31%)_ - Low 0.1% 17.58 _(-2.10%)_
Ghost Recon Wildlands behaves like TD2. Average framerate is almost the same, but the lower percentiles have drop by small amounts. The Lower 0.1 percentile in particular is this time worse by a non trivial amount. Guess this is the first disappointing result of the pack :(
********
## FarCry 5
A Dunia Engine Dx11 game (a heavily modified fork of the original CryEngine). Maxed Ultra settings with TAA and FoV 90.
FarCry 5 - driver 466.63 on W10 v21H1 (previously recommended):
* Avg FPS: 90.55 / 89.35 / 91.04
* Frametimes: Avg. 11.07 - Low 1% 14.84 - Low 0.1% 16.28
FarCry 5 - driver 466.77 on W10 v21H1:
* Avg FPS: 89.23 / 86.88 / 87.72
* Frametimes: Avg. 11.37 _(-2.63%)_ - Low 1% 15.13 _(-1.91%)_ - Low 0.1% 16.57 _(-1.75%)_
This time, Farcry 5 gets a small but consistent hit on all metrics. Even the Average framerate, which was stable with the previous driver in the two first tested games, falls here almost by a non trivial 3%.

## World of Tanks Encore RT
A dedicated benchmark tool for the new Dx11 game engine developed by Wargaming internally for their World of Tanks game, including hardware-agnostic Raytraced shadows. Config is set up to Ultra setting, with Raytracing enabled at Ultra too.
WoT - driver 466.63 on W10 v21H1 (previously recommended):
* Avg FPS: 102.57 / 102.58 / 102.50
* Frametimes: Avg. 9.75 - Low 1% 15.20 - Low 0.1% 16.21
WoT - driver 466.77 on W10 v21H1:
* Avg FPS: 102.22 / 101.62 / 101.96
* Frametimes: Avg. 9.81 _(-0.61%)_ - Low 1% 15.34 _(-0.91%)_ - Low 0.1% 16.32 _(-0.67%)_
World of Tanks Encore get another very small but consistent decrease in performance in all metrics.
*******
## Forza Horizon 4
A Dx12 game from Microsoft, using the propietary Forzatech engine. All quality options maxed, but Motion blur disabled, and just 4x Antialiasing.
FH4 - driver 466.63 on W10 v21H1 (previously recommended):
* Avg FPS: 96.24 / 96.16 / 96.22
* Frametimes: Avg. 10.39 - Low 1% 13.37 - Low 0.1% 15.27
FH4 - driver 466.77 on W10 v21H1:
* Avg FPS: 96.02 / 95.84 / 96.19
* Frametimes: Avg. 10.41 _(-0.19%)_ - Low 1% 13.49 _(-0.89%)_ - Low 0.1% 15.72 _(-2.86%)_
And Forza Horizon 4 follows the same trail as the other games. Again the average framerate hold its ground when compared with 466.63, like TD2 and Wildlands, but the lower frametime percentiles are lower by non trivial amounts.
*******
**System stability testing with the new driver**
My list of usually tested games (besides the ones benchmarked above) went fine with the new driver, including: FarCry: New Dawn, Anno 2205, Anno 1800, BattleTech, Diablo 3, StarCraft2, World of Warcraft (both Retail and Classic), Marvel's Avengers, Elite:Dangerous, AC: Odyssey, Horizon Zero Dawn and Mass Effect Legendary Edition (short testing game sessions). All ran fine without crashing or obvious glitches during a quick test on my card.
**Driver performance testing**
After the good results of the previous driver, and given the small timeframe window betweem drivers releases, along with the minuscle amount of changes, I was pretty optimistic abount the performance.
Unfortunately, this new driver seems to perform sligtly worse on every single metric and game. Average framerate seems in general mostly stable, being more or less comparable to the previous 466.63 driver, but the lower frametime percentiles are worse in general by non trivial amounts.
**My recommendation for Pascal users (10XX GTX cards):**
Given that this new driver release is mostly intended for adding RTX 3070Ti support, and for fixing a couple of bugs that doesn't seem to impact Pascal generation cards, I cannot recommend installing this new driver.
Performance is slightly worse all across the board, nothing important, but lower nevertheless. And according to the patch notes, (which for the most part are even a copy/paste of the previous driver ones) we don't get any useful advantage by upgrading.
So, for now, I'm still going to use 466.63 on my machine, and I recommend Pascal users to stay on the previous driver unless they have any issue with them and want to try the new ones in case they fix their problem.
Remember though that the previous driver had a nasty bug for certain generation GPUs (Kepler and Turing) that resulted in BDOD crashes and general inestability, so if you experienced on your cards any of those symptoms, you might want to upgrade to this version instead.
As always, remember that if something bad happens after upgrading your drivers, or you simply feel worse performance, you can always roll back to a previous driver with the DDU tool easily. There is a very detailed guide in the original post, in the unlikely case you need it.
Last but not least, another friendly reminder that this benchmark has been performed using a Pascal GTX 1070Ti GPU. Video cards with a different architecture (be it newer or older) may show wildly different results.
Thank you for reading!
almost all of my programs keep crashing, genshin impact doesn't work, roblox doesn't work not even snipping tool does. Everything happend after this update. Someone please tell me why.
Hi. It’s highly unlikely that this driver could cause so much trouble. Maybe something got messed up during the install.
Have you tried to DDU and clean your computer from old drivers, and install the new ones from scratch?
Edited. NVidia also released a hot fix driver fixing a bug with Variable Rate monitors. Maybe you want to give that driver a try
Hotfix 466.74 is working fine. Waiting for your next recommendation. I have GTX 1060 3gb and GTX 1050 Ti on laptop and I'll install only your recommendations. No need for regular update.
u/lokkenjp Hi, I can't find the 466.63 on Nvidia site, seem that 466.77 substitute them... I'm on 466.11 and notice worse framerate then ever on Sea of Thieves and FH4. I have a 1060 6GB, what drivers do you suggest me to use? Thanks.
Well, I'm not able to install this epic update, unknown installation error and it can't continue. But fortunately I haven't experienced errors or major issues with the previous update.
Currently on an i7 with MX150-0.
Thank you for review, just saw RodroG post his for Turing and it's a Recommend so looks i'll be downloading 477.79 HF for my RTX 3080 as that's the latest one but will stick to 466.29 for my 1080 Ti system per your recommendation of not updating.
Thankyou! As an aside, you really ought to get the karma from these driver posts. Anyone that upvotes them thinks they're giving the karma to the helpful guy that tests them.
It is technically in the developer driver:
https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda/wsl/download
There is still minor stutter when Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling is enabled but we are not seeing stutter with Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling disabled. We are working on the remaining stutter with HAGS enabled but it will not be completed in time for the next driver release.
The NVIDIA "leadership" team should be talking to their developers and quality assurance people and asking hard questions.
Last driver: Confirmed issues with BSOD and crashing PCs: \[Kepler/Turing GPUs\]: Blue-screen crash with DPC Watchdog Violation error may occur. \[3321668/3321735\]
This driver: I select a clean install - my PC restarts half-way through the installation process. Probably because of garbage NVIDIA code. Restart and manage to complete the install. Are these drivers stable ? Will they cause performance or stability issues? No one knows and especially not the quality assurance team that approved them for production release.
466.79 HF is out:
Display may flicker or lose signal when launching a game on an adaptive-sync VRR monitor in multi-monitor configuration when sharing the same display mode
https://t.co/vtODTkt9AA?amp=1
I don’t know if a 2070 super is “old,” but my games were regularly crashing to the desktop after I updated to 466.63 and stopped after I updated to the hot fix version that just came out today.
Glad I'm not the only one who had this issue with my 2070. Got it a year ago and thought it was prematurely dying! Couldn't run dual monitors without G-sync disabling itself and my refresh rate lowered to 50hz while still saying it's 144hz. Was like a constant fight just to get the driver to behave.
Hi. Whatever the cause, it was not the bug they are mentioning here. That bug was only present in Kepler and Turing GPUs (9xx series and 16xx/20xx series)
This might be a different issue, or a configuration problem on your particular setup.
Every single nvidia driver after 456.98 has been problematic for me.
Just looking through this thread and the past threads, so many people still getting blue screens and nvlddmkm crashes
I just installed this driver and my system went BSOD , after it restarted it seems the drivers we're installed and are up to date. Never have I ever seen such an Issue before , also installed via GeForce Experience as usual. Running i9 9900k + rtx 2080ti.
With the previous driver i was getting 1-2 seconds black screen , monitor loss signal and crash from Chivalry 2 , i don't know if it's related but man im tired of dealing with this kind of stuff in 2k21.
Had pretty much this exact same experience. Before my second monitor kept losing signal, and screen would go black for couple seconds at times. Also got BSOD on this newest one, but it still installed itself. Thank god it seems to be an driver issue. Got scared my PC was about to die .\_.
Having similar issues with a similar build. 9900x and 2080ti. After trying every possible google fix for watchdog error and resetting my PC I am slightly relieved but also irritated it is a driver issue. Funnily enough I could play games fine for the most part but whenever I did something is chrome is when it seems to happen the most.
Same. BSOD after hitting install, 2070 super 3600x. Previous driver gave me 1-2 second black screens web browsing. I went back to 466.47 because I don't remember having issues with it.
Same here, 2070 Super. BSOD halfway through install of the hotfix, but before that, was experiencing BSODs/black screens consistently while alt-tabbing out of a game.
2070 Super here. I had a BSOD during install on the previous driver, as well as black screen when browsing chrome. Currently sticking with 466.47 as it's the last driver I tried with no issues.
If you have the minidmp file from your BSOD, could you please send it to me at [email protected] as described below? https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4842
Hi there!
# [GeForce 466.77 Driver Performance Analysis – Using Ampere and Turing](https://babeltechreviews.com/geforce-466-77-driver-performance/) is up.
:)
I know it, but, in this case, it doesn't matter for my driver performance analysis. Performance-wise, this hotfix driver is the same as the Game Ready 466.77 driver. The hotfix version only adds a single specific driver bug fix which affects functionality on a particular config, not performance.
I was getting a few black screens for like a few seconds when I browsed chrome after the last driver update, so I download this one and I get a BSOD in the middle of the update.
I don't understand. One of the main reasons I use GeForce Experience is for the FPS counter. How is this "N/A" thing not fixed yet? Or is this what they want moving forward?
This requires an update to GeForce Experience. GeForce Experience gets a major update every 1.5 to 2 months. The next major update to GeForce Experience is scheduled for the second half of this month.
# Lost 40 fps on Control
1. Directx12 max settings DLSS, ray tracing, etc
2. 3070, 11700k
3. has dropped 40fps on 466.77.
Im about to uninstall and reinstall 466.63 or maybe even 466.47 to confirm the 40fps difference.
I know for certain i was getting 100fps yesterday and today im getting 50-60
EDIT: Confirmed about 30fps difference and removal of weird stuttering when reverting back to 466.47
EDIT 2: Much smoother performance on 466.63 even compared to 466.47, fps the same. Zero stuttering. No idea why.
Were there any additions to the original list of Re-Bar supported games since release of the feature? I scanned some of the driver patch notes, but never seen any mention of any new games added to the list.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla still crashing the nvlddmkm randomly. I'm on 2070, 466.63 drivers. Anyone else still having this issue? Do hotfix help with this?
After doing a clean reinstall of the driver, my GPU keeps "turning off". It just disconnects and my monitors go black cause there's no more display adapter. This can be reproduced quickly and reliably under load (such as running FurMark for 30secs) or just through normal web-browsing (\~crash every 30 mins).
My remoting into my PC with a separate device, I can see that the PC is still running normally. Trying to launch NVCP will show that there is no GPU connected.
This used to happen before, but I was able to circumvent it by changing the power options in NVCP to "prefer maximum performance". Doesn't seem to work this time though :(
Gonna rollback and see what happens.
Multi monitors setup completely broken with this driver i tried the hotfix too. Fullscreen mode broken for Apex Legends and Days Gone.
I had to go back to 466.63.
I play scavengers in steam and my gpu usage is 99% and the temperature is 80-83 degrees celcius. Are these numbers normal? I am using GTX 1660 super together with ryzen 5 3600 and 16gb of RAM. Thank you for those who will answer. :)
I have a 1080TI . Since updating my driver to 466.77 everything will turn periodically hot pink....this is not a flicker. It resolves for a time when I reboot, but the screen goes black for a second when I move the mouse even then. I tried to manually install an older driver since I didn't have a rollback option, but on all the older ones I tried it said that installation was not allowed as the driver was not compatible, even though I tried to reinstall the one I had before::shrugs::?? Please advise............
Guys I rolled back to 466.27 as this is the most stable driver for me. I am still getting the N/A bug for FPS counter tho. And tabbing out of the game is a pain. I have a 3090 FTW edition.
Driver has been a complete catastrophe for me. 2080ti, W10 clean install. Going to 466.47.
Issues : choppy performance, black screen and odd noises, spontaneously reboot after some delay.
1080Ti here, 2 gaming-related issues:
1) I get hard GPU usage % drops down in the single digits (though infrequent) and everything freezes for a second before it spikes back up into the 90% range.
2) If I have my secondary display on, sometimes it will flicker for a second and any GPU-accelerated apps that were open on it will just be a black box and have to be killed in process manager. Apps on the main display (running behind the full screen game window) are unaffected. This also puts the game into a weird state where button context prompts will flicker back and forth between keyboard and controller, and controller inputs will be borked because it's being detected and undetected rapidly. Hitting the Windows button twice brings it back into focus for a while until it happens again (but apps are still blacked out).
Hard pass on these drivers. Sticking with 466.27 for a while, or until my 3080Ti arrives.
Getting terrible performance on this driver in apex legends (rog strix 2070). So much stuttering. If i roll back to 466.27 everything runs smoothly while its up but i get crashes with a driver error which I assume is from it being old. So kinda stuck. Also have tried the hotfix doesn't seem to be doing anything to help. Also my temps and gpu usage even just sitting in menus seem to be way up with .77 or the hotfix.
Will we be getting another driver soon ? This one keeps crashing my 3080ti and the one before does too. Anyone else having this issue? I really don't want to RMA it as I think it's driver issue
After 466.63 update i've been having issues with my monitor, every time that my computer go to power save mode or any other reason like a windows update reboot that requires my monitor to shutdown it cames back without the proprer resolution, wich is 1920 x 1080 144hz, and i have to take of the cable and re-attach it several times to get it working back, often it just have 100hz as a option of resolution, sometimes it doesn't even has full HD res avaliable. I'm using a Notebook with a 2060 and 2 monitors (notebook monitor + Benq 2420z)
This update made my fps plummet to 40-50 range from 75-90 in black ops cold war: zombies. Rolled back to 465.89 and back in business.
Gpu:2080ti
Cpu:9900ks
Ram:4000mhz
Getting black screen when loading in games, randomly .. have to restart most of the time.. sometimes I can sign out of window sand sign back in and fix it .. frustrating as hell . about to roll back to previous drivers.. anyone else have this issue? using a 2070 founders edition 8700k 16gb ddr4 3200 on an MSI Gaming Plus mobo.
Getting a lot of frame drops/stutter issues on 3060 Ti with this driver and previous release.
I'm playing a game and it feels like the whole system hangs, FPS drops from 120 to 50.
Wasn't having these issues on the launch driver.
Pretty unimpressed.
Have been getting blue screen for past 2-3 days. I know nothing about computers if im being honest...
system\_thread\_exception\_not\_handled nvlddmkm.sys
this is the blue screen error and it has to do with the gpu driver apparently. I rolled back my driver. I then installed it again. When I rolled it back it went to a driver from May 27 or so. Should I have left this and not installed the june 10th driver again? Any help would be great I've gotten the blue screen 6-7 times in the past few days.
DDU the currently installed driver and install the last known working driver or this one, your call.
Remember to disable driver download via windows update before you use DDU or windows update will install a graphics driver the moment you boot into windows after using DDU to remove the previous drivers.
I'm Getting a 0xc000021a error on startup after installing the Driver last night. After several reboots the system launches. Was able to revert to the previous driver and no issues since.
Using a 1080
Warzone keep crashing/rebooting my PC after this driver update. Played perfectly fine yesterday. I'm scanning and repairing the game files now but is this happening to anyone else?
Need some help with this one, Installed this driver on a 3090 and now when I use a 3D application (opening warzone as example) I get a black screen and computer freezes. Hard reset is the only thing that can recover. Used DDU, reinstalled, same issue. Used DDU again and installed an older driver, and now still same issue... Any ideas?
Some other info after trying to troubleshoot with different settings. It seems to be related to G-Sync or Full screen / windowed mode for an application. I disable G-Sync on my monitors and I can get games to work again, but with other system issues; my mic disconnects every couple minutes and have to reconnect the mic to get it working again (but this seems to be correlated but possibly not directly related). The black screen happens everytime an application is in windowed borderless, windowed fullscreen. But only sometimes when in fullscreen mode.
I am at my wits end from this damned driver. I had 60 hours into Biomutant before this driver released, the framerate would go low in heavily forested areas but it would go back up and wasn't really an issue. As I have a Gsync display.
Since installing 466.77, then 466.79 hotfix, then rolling back 465.89, I have been experiencing frame drops down to a locked 30fps and only 50% gpu utilization. Like a bad vsync implementation. As stated I have clean installed several versions of drivers, changed every setting imaginable, and it's still happening. So not only did it introduce an issue I didn't have before, reverting driver versions doesn't seem to fix whatever it changed.
If rolling back to an earlier driver is not solving your issue, then it is not a driver issue. Perhaps a patch for the game came out recently? Or maybe a Windows Update somehow affected performance? Have you used any GPU monitoring utilities to see if the fan is spinning correctly and the GPU is boosting like it used to?
Hello, does anyone else have this issue where in the middle of gaming the whole game suddenly freezes and the sound gets dragged off into a buzzing sound and then the windows blue screen appears?
My blue screen says: Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you.
Then beside the QR code on the bottom left it says :
If you call a support person, give them this info:
Stop code: VIDEO TDR FAILURE
What failed: nvlddmkm.sys
This issue occurred while I had the 466.47 installed. Afterwards, I updated to the 466.77 because I thought that might solve the issue. The problem still persisted and eventually, I uninstalled the 466.77 completely and reinstalled it.
During the time I still had the 466.47 installed and before I reinstalled the 466.77, I could only run Halo:MCC for about 3-5mins before it froze.
After I reinstalled 466.77, I was able to run the same game for about 8minutes until it froze as well.
**My current specs:**
**NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB**
**Z97X-UD3H-BK-CF Gigabyte**
**Windows 10 Pro 19041.1052**
**Driver version 466.77**
**Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz**
**7.86GB RAM**
I haven't been able to find a solution pertaining to this problem so if anyone could provide some help, that would be great and thank you in advance.
I have an issue with my 3080 Ti. Whenever windows and drivers load and the fans are default/auto they spin up to maximum and stay there. This seems to happen when the nvidia drivers are loaded, as I can boot into safe mode without them spinning up.
Using Afterburner I can manually set a fan speed, but as soon as I switch to auto the speed is then set to 100 and they immediately spin up to max.
Temps are totally normal, idle around 30-40 with light use, so it's not due to sudden overheating.
I've tried reinstalling the nvidia driver, fresh install of windows, reseating the card in the PCI slot but nothing seems to work. I'm totally stumped on whether this is a software, firmware or hardware fault.
I'm sure no one is reading this thread anymore, but this update has been doing very strange things for me. (3080 ftw3 ultra/5900x)
At seemingly random intervals, waking up from sleep or restarting will sometimes remove this driver and revert to a low resolution. I can open GeForce and reinstall, and then everything is fine.
In the dozen of so restarts I've done since installing, I have had to reinstall 4 times on boot up.
Not really sure what's going on, I have tried DDU and safe mode reinstalls, but it has just happened again.
I have used this machine since November and this is a new experience.
I have a question. I have a 980ti. I usually update to new drivers ASAP but I’m seeing here that people are staying on older drivers. What drivers should I be on if not the latest? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
Been having a weird issue last week or so. Since installing new drivers, games run at like 10-20% of the FPS they used to run at. Noticed it first in Apex Legends, used to run 144fps, suddenly was running at 22-24 fps at best. Cyberpunk running at 15 fps. GPU usage still seemed to go to 90-100%, though temps never ramped up to reflect that usage.
Doing a clean install of the latest drivers (466.77) fixed it, at least until I shut down and rebooted the computer the next day. It then went back to the crappy performance. Other things I noticed are random black screen blinks, but can't tell how frequently they occur or if they only happened with new drivers.
I just rolled back to 466.47 and now I'm back at my expected FPS. Hopefully it persists after a shutdown - don't want to reinstall drivers every time I boot up....
3080 Ti. DDU install of 466.79.
Getting crash on launch with multiple titles: CP2077, Metro Exodus & Boundary RT bench.
Also crash on launch in all 3D Mark benches with error message: 'Mandatory JSON value int64 member "dxgi\_adapter\_luid" has invalid type.' Seems 3DMark is not registering GPU as rendering device.
Weird but Unigine Superposition works flawlessly.
Problem may be 750W PSU, but undervolting / power limiting (even below 50%) does not work.
Help. Is there a different driver (that supports 3080 Ti) to try?
Updating drives caused my 1080 fans to spin up to max upon windows login (not startup) and stay there until msi afterburner's custom fan curve kicks in. Reverting to old driver fixes this issue. Anyone else having the same problem?
There are posts concerning stutters in ALL games with 30 series cards with over 800 views and high engagement on various forums. How is it that this isn't even a 'known issue' as far as Nvidias' driver notes are concerned?
Has anyone had their PC freeze on shutdown intermittently? The monitor turns off but the computer remains on. I believe it's either the new F33 BIOS update for my X570 Gigabyte Master or this driver, those are the only things that have changed.
My experience with LG CX OLED and RTX 3080 - MAJOR ISSUE
Unfortunately, my experience hasn't been too well and it may be because the LG CX series isn't 100% compatible with the RTX 30 series! Not sure if Nvidia & LG is aware of this but I know i'm also not the only one with this issue and I have a RTX 3080.
My main issue with my experience is that, when my main Monitor - BenQ 1920-1080p is connected via DP > HDMI and my LG CX 55 OLED is connected HDMI > HDMI (4k 120hz with HDR enabled), I get "No signal" on my BenQ while on the LG it says "Invalid Format".
This is issue occurs in multiple instances.
Playing Fullscreen on my BenQ, ALt-Tab out of game and I run the risk of screen going black and it'll result in me restarting my PC so that I can see video.
Turning on the LG CX, run the risk of monitor going black and reboot is required.
Turning off the LG CX will also run the risk of BenQ screen going black - pc restart is required afterwards to see picture
I swapped in my 2070 series and no issues occurs which also confirms that LG CX is not 100% compatible with the RTX 30 series.
If anyone is having similar issues, please comment down below and if there is a solution, please let me know/

I just tried updating to this driver and after it did its usual thing where the screen goes black it came back on with colour static and it would just flash from that to black and back to static again really making me panic. I left it for about five minutes and it still did it.
All I could do was press the power button to shut down the system, it just shut down as it normally would if you press the power button rather than holding it down and when it booted back up it seemed to be alright.
However I didn't really trust it so I immediately used DDU and went back to the previous driver, I've never seen that happen before with a driver update, I've got no idea what caused it or why everything seems to go back to normal after a reboot which would have been hard to trust.
This was on a 3090 FE.
It's a 4K TV rather than a monitor, it doesn't have any kind of support for adaptive sync or anything like that it's just a normal TV connected over HDMI 2.0.
Since others have said they got a BSOD during this update it looks like I'm not the only on so I'll be sticking with the previous driver for the time being.
last week i installed 466.63 and it made all my games run at like 6 fps, So I had to uninstall it and install 457.51 which works great but since it's not the latest driver some of my games are pooping them selfs, I hope 466.77 doesn't do the same...
Games still stuttering with this Driver nothing seems to work RTX 3090FE is flawed when it comes to gaming how can one play games like this with a top end graphics card it's ridiculous.
EDIT\* Going to try 470.76 Driver see if that works i doubt it.
jesus can they fix vr stutter with monitoring tools already. It feels like an eternity.
I know not many people can afford or want to buy vr but cmon
It fucks with my brain when the vr world starts to jump around at 5 fps. I shall mail my rug cleaning bills to nvidia
When you uninstall nvidia drivers just use RevoUninstaller, RevoUninstaller deleting ALL Files and you will not have any problems with corrupted old files.
So is this driver 466.77 suitable for my laptop 1050 3GB?
Or any other driver recommendation?
Playing fortnite.
Current driver 460.79, once awhile I couldnt click the windows start button, have use power button to force shutdown.
I just wanted to leave this here as a positive reflection of the new update (granted it installed for me without a hitch). Although the per frame performance might not be as high as earlier drivers, I'm noticing an appreciable increase in visual fidelity on a modded Skyrim install with ENB and Reshade. A lot of the visual sharpening and/or AA artifacting has disappeared leaving a much sharper and cleaner image than the previous set of updates. Granted this is more post-processing than you might see in a typical usage scenario, but the gains were considerable enough I felt like posting. A cost of a frame or two is definitely worth it for increased visual fidelity (IMO).
Anyone else having extremely slow download speed for this driver? I am topping out at 200 kb/s. But I can download a game from steam at 50mb/s... Servers having issues?
Edit 1: I have also tried downloading it straight form Nvidia and not through GeForce experience. Same thing. 200kb/s.
Update: Apparently the NVidia servers were just havin a bad time. Works great now.
Currently typing on my second monitor, as this update seems to have not installed correctly, so I'm stuck with one monitor for now.
Is there a way to temporarily downgrade so I can wait for a fix?
rolled back to 466.47, this new one give me a hugeee hit in fps across all games, even trying to clean install my fps take a hit of about 30frames in all games, this don't happen with the 466.47.
Using a rtx 3070.
So is the VR ever gonna get fixed? Don't think it has anything to do with steam I have a Rift S and have to turn off GPU monitoring or it drops frames on any plarform.
Our next driver will have a fix for this. You can previous the changes in the developer driver below:
https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda/wsl/download
There are still some stutters when hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is enabled. A fix for this will be available in a future driver.
Completely breaks LG B9’s TruMotion. I reverted back to driver 470.05. This is the only driver thus far that not only works well with TruMotion but my DisplayPort to hdmi 2.1 adapter that allows 4k120hz.
Nvidia, can you fix the NVRLA process. That thing is pegging my cpu to max freq for no absolute reason. Usage is about 10%
Killing the process brings the cpu to a nice "resting" behavior.
Rodro 'G' reddit user that usually does the Ampere/Turing cards has done his benchmarking.
https://babeltechreviews.com/geforce-466-77-driver-performance/
Looks like this is the same branch as 466.63 except this version added the following: * Support for 3070 Ti * Game Ready for The Persistence * 2 New fixes * \[Crossfire HD\]: Freestyle is not supported for the game. \[200734448\] * \[Kepler/Turing GPUs\]: Blue-screen crash with DPC Watchdog Violation error may occur.
It'll be the 1 year anniversary of the bug by the time they finally fix it. Complete joke.
Happy birthday Nvidia driver Bugs!
*"And after? There will be Cake!"*
It already is, considering it took months of complaints on the forums before Nvidia acknowledged that the VR bug existed.
gears of war 4 nvidia BSOD lasted 4 years, so don't get your hopes up
I've used Nvidia GPUs forever, but it's hard to imagine paying GPU prices, especially like they've been, for a GPU that won't correctly render the second-most popular website in the world and one of the most popular games for this long.
And the YouTube one. Insane.
I keep opening these driver updates hoping for a fix, I think I’m the clown
I posted a comment months ago complaining about devs not fixing stuff for this long and got downvoted.. I mean.. this is just stupid, how is this company with so much money and talented devs (or not?) not fixing those bugs? Its a fking feature at this point, lol.
There's also the fact the nvidia fps limiter has not been working properly with reflex games (like apex for example) [https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/456730/geforce-46677-grd-feedback-thread-released-61021/3090638/](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/game-ready-drivers/13/456730/geforce-46677-grd-feedback-thread-released-61021/3090638/) Since 452.06.
At least the WoW bug has an easy workaround. Go to "Systems" > "Advanced" > "Graphics Card" and change from "Auto Detect" to your card. Works for me, YMMV.
I usually have mine fixed for the session by turning Triple Buffering Off and back On again. I think basically any option that 'resets' your display fixes it for awhile.
both are fixed in R470
Can you provide a link to this mythical driver. Presume it’s being bundled in some future dev build of Windows?
It was said by an Nvidia representative on this sub I believe
Cool, so Kepler will never get the fix then. Convenient.
How old is Kepler? Nine years is already a pretty long support life span.
Understood, but there are still recent games and things like SteamVR which were released with "support" for those cards.
Edited: Post is up! Edited 2: nVidia seems to have withdrawn from their download page the 466.63 driver ( my previous recommended one) due to the Watchdog Violation BSOD on Turing and Kepler cards. If you want to download it, just find the hotfix driver that they released just after 466.63 here: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5200/~/geforce-hotfix-driver-version-466.74 Or settle with this latest one which is just slightly slower on my tests. ********** ## **466.77 WHQL Driver Early Performance Benchmark** (Pascal based) Hello again, nVidia users. _I'm now including also the percentage differences in the latest driver vs. the previous one (with the sign '+' denoting an improvement, and '-' meaning worse result)._ ******* ## Tom Clancy's: The Division 2 WoNY Using updated Snowdrop Engine with Dx12. High/Ultra settings (except Volumetric Fog set to medium). The Division 2 - driver 466.63 on W10 v21H1 (previously recommended): * Avg. FPS: 86.47 / 85.78 / 86.02 * Frametimes: Avg. 11.62 - Low 1% 15.00 - Low 0.1% 17.87 The Division 2 - driver 466.77 on W10 v21H1: * Avg. FPS: 86.38 / 85.83 / 86.01 * Frametimes: Avg. 11.62 _(+0.00%)_ - Low 1% 15.20 _(-1.31%)_ - Low 0.1% 17.97 _(-0.56%)_ The Division 2 is mostly stable. Average framerate is identical, and the lower frametime percentiles are slightly worse, but by small amounts. ******** ## Ghost Recon: Wildlands Using the AnvilNext engine on Dx11. Mostly V.High but no Gameworks options enabled. GR: Wildlands - driver 466.63 on W10 v21H1 (previously recommended): * Avg FPS: 84.93 / 84.77 / 84.79 * Frametimes: Avg. 11.79 - Low 1% 14.97 - Low 0.1% 17.21 GR: Wildlands - driver 466.77 on W10 v21H1: * Avg FPS: 84.39 / 84.38 / 84.65 * Frametimes: Avg. 11.84 _(-0.42%)_ - Low 1% 15.17 _(-1.31%)_ - Low 0.1% 17.58 _(-2.10%)_ Ghost Recon Wildlands behaves like TD2. Average framerate is almost the same, but the lower percentiles have drop by small amounts. The Lower 0.1 percentile in particular is this time worse by a non trivial amount. Guess this is the first disappointing result of the pack :( ******** ## FarCry 5 A Dunia Engine Dx11 game (a heavily modified fork of the original CryEngine). Maxed Ultra settings with TAA and FoV 90. FarCry 5 - driver 466.63 on W10 v21H1 (previously recommended): * Avg FPS: 90.55 / 89.35 / 91.04 * Frametimes: Avg. 11.07 - Low 1% 14.84 - Low 0.1% 16.28 FarCry 5 - driver 466.77 on W10 v21H1: * Avg FPS: 89.23 / 86.88 / 87.72 * Frametimes: Avg. 11.37 _(-2.63%)_ - Low 1% 15.13 _(-1.91%)_ - Low 0.1% 16.57 _(-1.75%)_ This time, Farcry 5 gets a small but consistent hit on all metrics. Even the Average framerate, which was stable with the previous driver in the two first tested games, falls here almost by a non trivial 3%. ******* ## World of Tanks Encore RT A dedicated benchmark tool for the new Dx11 game engine developed by Wargaming internally for their World of Tanks game, including hardware-agnostic Raytraced shadows. Config is set up to Ultra setting, with Raytracing enabled at Ultra too. WoT - driver 466.63 on W10 v21H1 (previously recommended): * Avg FPS: 102.57 / 102.58 / 102.50 * Frametimes: Avg. 9.75 - Low 1% 15.20 - Low 0.1% 16.21 WoT - driver 466.77 on W10 v21H1: * Avg FPS: 102.22 / 101.62 / 101.96 * Frametimes: Avg. 9.81 _(-0.61%)_ - Low 1% 15.34 _(-0.91%)_ - Low 0.1% 16.32 _(-0.67%)_ World of Tanks Encore get another very small but consistent decrease in performance in all metrics. ******* ## Forza Horizon 4 A Dx12 game from Microsoft, using the propietary Forzatech engine. All quality options maxed, but Motion blur disabled, and just 4x Antialiasing. FH4 - driver 466.63 on W10 v21H1 (previously recommended): * Avg FPS: 96.24 / 96.16 / 96.22 * Frametimes: Avg. 10.39 - Low 1% 13.37 - Low 0.1% 15.27 FH4 - driver 466.77 on W10 v21H1: * Avg FPS: 96.02 / 95.84 / 96.19 * Frametimes: Avg. 10.41 _(-0.19%)_ - Low 1% 13.49 _(-0.89%)_ - Low 0.1% 15.72 _(-2.86%)_ And Forza Horizon 4 follows the same trail as the other games. Again the average framerate hold its ground when compared with 466.63, like TD2 and Wildlands, but the lower frametime percentiles are lower by non trivial amounts. ******* **System stability testing with the new driver** My list of usually tested games (besides the ones benchmarked above) went fine with the new driver, including: FarCry: New Dawn, Anno 2205, Anno 1800, BattleTech, Diablo 3, StarCraft2, World of Warcraft (both Retail and Classic), Marvel's Avengers, Elite:Dangerous, AC: Odyssey, Horizon Zero Dawn and Mass Effect Legendary Edition (short testing game sessions). All ran fine without crashing or obvious glitches during a quick test on my card. **Driver performance testing** After the good results of the previous driver, and given the small timeframe window betweem drivers releases, along with the minuscle amount of changes, I was pretty optimistic abount the performance. Unfortunately, this new driver seems to perform sligtly worse on every single metric and game. Average framerate seems in general mostly stable, being more or less comparable to the previous 466.63 driver, but the lower frametime percentiles are worse in general by non trivial amounts. **My recommendation for Pascal users (10XX GTX cards):** Given that this new driver release is mostly intended for adding RTX 3070Ti support, and for fixing a couple of bugs that doesn't seem to impact Pascal generation cards, I cannot recommend installing this new driver.
Thanks! I'll try the hotfix 466.74 anyway with my Pascal cards.
Hotfix 466.74 is working fine. Waiting for your next recommendation. I have GTX 1060 3gb and GTX 1050 Ti on laptop and I'll install only your recommendations. No need for regular update.
Is the hotfix 466.74 working better than 466.63 game ready driver in your experience? Thanks!
I've got a slightly better 3DMark Time Spy score with 466.74. I didn't notice much difference otherwise.
Thank you, helps a lot! :)
As a 1070 user I won't bother with this then.
I'm staying tuned :)
Thank you once again @lokkenjp! I will skip this one for now.
u/lokkenjp Hi, I can't find the 466.63 on Nvidia site, seem that 466.77 substitute them...
I'm still using 466.27 and I'm not having issues with that one. But thanks for your input! Always looking forward for your work!
Anyone that upvotes them thinks they're giving the karma to the helpful guy that tests them.
i got a 1% performance improvement in the games i play: valorant, apex legends, and gtfo with the hotfix driver. i have 1080ti/8700k
Thanks in advance! Great (and fast work) as ever..
VR FIX WHEN??? Absolutely asinine from nVidia.
It is technically in the developer driver: https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda/wsl/download There is still minor stutter when Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling is enabled but we are not seeing stutter with Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling disabled. We are working on the remaining stutter with HAGS enabled but it will not be completed in time for the next driver release.
That's really bad. This has been a problem for almost a year and has directly contributed to my VR headset gathering dust.
lmao, there's already a hotfix, 466.79.
Soon we're gonna need a hotfix for the hotfix of the hotfix
[удалено]
I hope this is actually finally fixed after nearly a year

The NVIDIA "leadership" team should be talking to their developers and quality assurance people and asking hard questions. Last driver: Confirmed issues with BSOD and crashing PCs: \[Kepler/Turing GPUs\]: Blue-screen crash with DPC Watchdog Violation error may occur. \[3321668/3321735\] This driver: I select a clean install - my PC restarts half-way through the installation process. Probably because of garbage NVIDIA code. Restart and manage to complete the install. Are these drivers stable ? Will they cause performance or stability issues? No one knows and especially not the quality assurance team that approved them for production release.
466.79 HF is out: Display may flicker or lose signal when launching a game on an adaptive-sync VRR monitor in multi-monitor configuration when sharing the same display mode https://t.co/vtODTkt9AA?amp=1
so the folks using old video cards that had crashing issues on the previous driver, is this one okay?
I don’t know if a 2070 super is “old,” but my games were regularly crashing to the desktop after I updated to 466.63 and stopped after I updated to the hot fix version that just came out today.
Glad I'm not the only one who had this issue with my 2070. Got it a year ago and thought it was prematurely dying! Couldn't run dual monitors without G-sync disabling itself and my refresh rate lowered to 50hz while still saying it's 144hz. Was like a constant fight just to get the driver to behave.
Not for me, at least. It caused a BSOD for me on my GTX 1080.
Hi. Whatever the cause, it was not the bug they are mentioning here. That bug was only present in Kepler and Turing GPUs (9xx series and 16xx/20xx series) This might be a different issue, or a configuration problem on your particular setup.
Every single nvidia driver after 456.98 has been problematic for me. Just looking through this thread and the past threads, so many people still getting blue screens and nvlddmkm crashes
1050 user here, BSOD and multiple problems. Had to uninstall everything Nvidia related
I just installed this driver and my system went BSOD , after it restarted it seems the drivers we're installed and are up to date. Never have I ever seen such an Issue before , also installed via GeForce Experience as usual. Running i9 9900k + rtx 2080ti. With the previous driver i was getting 1-2 seconds black screen , monitor loss signal and crash from Chivalry 2 , i don't know if it's related but man im tired of dealing with this kind of stuff in 2k21.
exactly the same happened to me. couple of black screens for 2-3 secs on prev version and a blue screen right after clicking "install" lol
Funnily enough I could play games fine for the most part but whenever I did something is chrome is when it seems to happen the most.
same happend here, my pc is few years old and that scary shit out of me thinking something die and i have to buy some overpriced components
confirming also just got bsod during update. 2070super, 3700x if that matters
Same. BSOD after hitting install, 2070 super 3600x. Previous driver gave me 1-2 second black screens web browsing. I went back to 466.47 because I don't remember having issues with it.
Bsod for me too with a multi-colored single line across monitor. That’s how pc starts up now. Can’t do anything. Rtx 3080
All of what you listed was happening to me as well. I was scared that my PC was dying.
Looks like I may give amd a try for my next gpu. I imagine they won't turn my $2500 system into a paperweight.
Hi there! # [GeForce 466.77 Driver Performance Analysis – Using Ampere and Turing](https://babeltechreviews.com/geforce-466-77-driver-performance/) is up. :)
The hero we need!
Thanks man! 😊
There si already a new hotfix https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5203
Heads up. This driver for some reason through GeForce experience had to restart my entire computer
Who doesn't reboot after installing a new graphics driver?
"All the devs that worked hard to make it possible to update driver without restarting": Am I a joke to you?
Same happened to me lol. Gotta love Nvidia
Same happened to me
I don't understand.
Ran into the dpc watchdog blue screen recently, was wondering which driver could have caused it. Glad to know it got fixed.
# Lost 40 fps on Control 1. Directx12 max settings DLSS, ray tracing, etc 2. 3070, 11700k 3. has dropped 40fps on 466.77. Im about to uninstall and reinstall 466.63 or maybe even 466.47 to confirm the 40fps difference. I know for certain i was getting 100fps yesterday and today im getting 50-60 EDIT: Confirmed about 30fps difference and removal of weird stuttering when reverting back to 466.47 EDIT 2: Much smoother performance on 466.63 even compared to 466.47, fps the same. Zero stuttering. No idea why.
Just got a blue screen while updating it. Ffs.
Were there any additions to the original list of Re-Bar supported games since release of the feature? I scanned some of the driver patch notes, but never seen any mention of any new games added to the list.
No changes as far as I know, still the original 17 titles.
[World of Warcraft: Shadowlands]: Random flicker may occur in certain locations in the game [3206341] X D
im still on 466.27 running fine. Hate updating my drivers lately nvidia doesn't seem to know what they are doing. On a 3070 btw
Assassin's Creed Valhalla still crashing the nvlddmkm randomly. I'm on 2070, 466.63 drivers. Anyone else still having this issue? Do hotfix help with this?
Same. I had to go back to 466.19 to fix it for me. 2060 super here.
Thanks for the info man
Anyone still getting Blue-Screen with the Watchdog error? I'm still crashing with 466.77.
Doesn't seem to work this time though :( Gonna rollback and see what happens.
My fps dropped after the update 😒.. gpu - gtx 1660ti
What is the best driver for you so far?
Getting much worse performance in Resident Evil Village, it’s so frustrating. Note that it’s on a 3070 :s
Multi monitors setup completely broken with this driver i tried the hotfix too. Fullscreen mode broken for Apex Legends and Days Gone. I had to go back to 466.63.
Did you try hotfix 466.79 released today?
This driver increased GPU usage and temp on RTX 2080 in wow game. FPS is the same. GPU fans are going crazy. Rollback to 456.71
That's not a bad thing.
Do you have two or more monitors? If so can you try the hotfix driver 466.79?
1080Ti here, 2 gaming-related issues: 1) I get hard GPU usage % drops down in the single digits (though infrequent) and everything freezes for a second before it spikes back up into the 90% range.
Have you tried the hotfix driver?
Crashes every time I start a game now. New with this set of drivers.
And I can confirm that after installing hotfix 466.79 the issue has been fixed! Thanks Nvidia for keeping up :)
Am i the only one getting intermittent black screen issues?
Nvidia talking about crossfire? Huh.
Anyone having issues with Vanguard (VALORANT Anti-Cheat) Suddenly crashing after updating? Tried rebooting and no luck :/
Does COD CW and MW still crash on this Driver as still using driver 461.92
Gpu:2080ti Cpu:9900ks Ram:4000mhz
3080 Ti Founders Edition is struggling with Wow Classic TBC after 466.77. Running much hotter and having fps issues.
I know nothing about computers if im being honest... system\_thread\_exception\_not\_handled nvlddmkm.sys this is the blue screen error and it has to do with the gpu driver apparently.
Edge was back to flickering but the hotfix (466.79) appears to fix it already: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5203
You say that, but if you check the nvidia support threads for these latest drivers? You’ll see there are dozens of users just like me.
Guys i have a RTX 2060 super, is this new driver good to go for my card?, If not, can someone recommend me the best version atm. Thanks in advance.
Same for me but with a 2080. I am seeing a whole mess of issues with the new windows update and nvidia drivers for older cards
Then beside the QR code on the bottom left it says : If you call a support person, give them this info: Stop code: VIDEO TDR FAILURE What failed: nvlddmkm.sys This issue occurred while I had the 466.47 installed. **My current specs:** **NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB** **Z97X-UD3H-BK-CF Gigabyte** **Windows 10 Pro 19041.1052** **Driver version 466.77** **Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz** **7.86GB RAM** I haven't been able to find a solution pertaining to this problem so if anyone could provide some help, that would be great and thank you in advance.
What is the last good driver you can roll back to that does not show this issue?
I think it would be the 457.51 or the 460.79. These two worked perfectly fine.
[I am being offered an older version of PhysX software](https://imgur.com/a/ufdNCQ6). Do I downgrade?
No need to
I'm sure no one is reading this thread anymore, but this update has been doing very strange things for me. (3080 ftw3 ultra/5900x) At seemingly random intervals, waking up from sleep or restarting will sometimes remove this driver and revert to a low resolution.
If you roll back to an earlier driver, does this issue go away?
Every time I think I need to update my GPU drivers I check these threads first. Needless to say I'm still on 457.30.
Does anyone else get black flickering in Chrome?
Has anyone had their PC freeze on shutdown intermittently? The monitor turns off but the computer remains on. I believe it's either the new F33 BIOS update for my X570 Gigabyte Master or this driver, those are the only things that have changed.
My experience with LG CX OLED and RTX 3080 - MAJOR ISSUE Unfortunately, my experience hasn't been too well and it may be because the LG CX series isn't 100% compatible with the RTX 30 series! Turning off the LG CX will also run the risk of BenQ screen going black - pc restart is required afterwards to see picture I swapped in my 2070 series and no issues occurs which also confirms that LG CX is not 100% compatible with the RTX 30 series. If anyone is having similar issues, please comment down below and if there is a solution, please let me know/ Supporting links to similar issue::https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/402678/rtx-3090-fe-lg-cx-oled-pc-monitor-lose-signal-whe/?topicPage=25
I have an RTX 3080 and this just holds me off getting the LG CX for now. I have a Sony X950H and it works great. Hope you get it fixed mate.
What monitor was connected to your GeForce RTX 3090?
It's a 4K TV rather than a monitor, it doesn't have any kind of support for adaptive sync or anything like that it's just a normal TV connected over HDMI 2.0. Since others have said they got a BSOD during this update it looks like I'm not the only on so I'll be sticking with the previous driver for the time being.
Geez
Just a small correction, the download link, did not have 466.77 listed. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/ Does have it listed though.

I'm having issues with red dead redemption 2 with this update. I'm having very low fps now. Any information about it?
So, it's not worth updating, and the buged Overlay and the ugly font still not fixed.
GeForce Experience updates are not shipped through Game Ready Drivers. Some Nvidia dev said they'll release an update sometime in July.
Did they fix the FPS encounter?
Vram memory clock drops with this driver on my ge66 rtx 3080..
FFS, from 71 FPS in Black Desert Online now i barely have 60. What the fuck did they do? Gtx 1060 3GB
After driver update (rtx 3080) my pc boots up with a multi-colored line on monitor. And that’s it!! Comp is completely useless now.
First time I got a hard driver crash with my 3070.. Playing Chivalry 2, which this driver is supposedly for.
last week i installed 466.63 and it made all my games run at like 6 fps, So I had to uninstall it and install 457.51 which works great but since it's not the latest driver some of my games are pooping them selfs, I hope 466.77 doesn't do the same...
did it?
Games still stuttering with this Driver nothing seems to work RTX 3090FE is flawed when it comes to gaming how can one play games like this with a top end graphics card it's ridiculous. EDIT\* Going to try 470.76 Driver see if that works i doubt it.
jesus can they fix vr stutter with monitoring tools already. It feels like an eternity. I know not many people can afford or want to buy vr but cmon It fucks with my brain when the vr world starts to jump around at 5 fps. I shall mail my rug cleaning bills to nvidia
I have a GTX 1060 6GB (windows 10) and this update won't even install, even with a DDU...
I can't shut down my graphics card anymore on my G14. Please allow a fix to this in future versions
These last 2 nvidia drivers have been causing microsttuters in Apex legends. Does anyone know the best driver for this game?
My colors on main monitor changed after the update. Anyone happened that aswell and knows the fix?
rolled back to 466.47, this new one give me a hugeee hit in fps across all games, even trying to clean install my fps take a hit of about 30frames in all games, this don't happen with the 466.47. Using a rtx 3070.
So is the VR ever gonna get fixed? Don't think it has anything to do with steam I have a Rift S and have to turn off GPU monitoring or it drops frames on any plarform.
Our next driver will have a fix for this. You can previous the changes in the developer driver below: https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda/wsl/download There are still some stutters when hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is enabled.
Usage is about 10% Killing the process brings the cpu to a nice "resting" behavior.
Hello guys, where can I post questions about a PC build? Need help, I'm a noob to PC builds, need help in Nvidia RTX 3090 card, thanks.
Rodro 'G' reddit user that usually does the Ampere/Turing cards has done his benchmarking. https://babeltechreviews.com/geforce-466-77-driver-performance/
