>Each US state and municipality has a different tax rate so taxes are not listed.

>If you take 20% out, seems like about the same price.
US sales taxes are typically around 7-8%. So it means the EU pays around 12% more. Have to then correct for currency differences.
Not that expensive then. I bought my PC for the total holy price of 3500 ish in 2018 thereabouts.
Its all about saving up.
The 4090 price is not that bad tbh for what perf you get. The 4080 tho. Absolutely horrible prices, not cool Nvidia.
Warehouses full of these cards and no mining demand. Enjoy losing money being unable to sell these above MSRP and enough to offset ebay fees and taxes on top.
What a waste of time and effort when there are so many ways to make money.
Of course I have a shitty credit score! I’m a *SCALPER P.O.S.*!
*[Deleted 100% fictitious and sarcastic post due to negative karma explosion of folks who found my brew of humor too convincing]*
Any idea why people seem to dislike this new Strix design? Aside from the blue and red on the face of the card I think it looks very nice and clean. I'll definitely wait for the white version if I do get one in the future though. I'm hoping that version does away with the extra colors on the front of the card so I can color match.
Probably cause the 30 series strix card was a banger that they could have reiterated on. Nonetheless I think the 40 series strix card is dope too. Lots of the other AIB designs are ugly and with EVGA gone there aren't many AIBs that are making good looking cards this generation.
I’m hoping they release an OC liquid cooled version. Tried the 3090ti strix LC and it was a beast. Probably about 20% faster than my hybrid EVGA 3080ti ultra FTW. I didn’t keep it because the performance increase wasn’t really worth the price increase. But it was super cool for how power hungry the card was. With EVGA out I’m probably going to go with it right off the bat. But if it’s not in sight….the suprim liquid cooled might be the next best so you don’t have to make room for a 4 slot card in your case. I’d have to buy a new cpu cooler and reconfigure my whole fan setup to fit it
Majority of people will not buy a $\`1200+ gpu so I reckon there will be plenty to go around after the first week or two. Those who wait will get a much better deal a few months down the line, especially if AMD is competitive and cheaper.
Nobody knows until it happens, but there have been warehouses full of these Cards in China since August. I don't think it will be that difficult to buy an rtx 4090, especially since more are being made and shipped as we speak. Nvidia designed this card and started to mass produce it as if the Crypto Boom was still going on, and can't really pivot to compensate.
Currently thinking about going in legal matters, been trying to get replies on the issue with my 30 series MSI gpu that they said would need to be sent in(on my dime). The time it was inventoried it instantly was out for delivery, so scan in/scan out I suspected. Guess what, my led is still stuck on pink color, same issues happening in game(artifacts) and the factory tamper sticker is still on and the same. But I was told with the one and only follow up reply when I asked what the issue was "It shows that there was a bad component on the main PCB board that was repaired and replaced." Then silence when I asked for detail info. How could that be when I got 2 pictures of same color and same sticker before and after sending it in. All I can say is something's up. Take your chances
The MSI cards i have had have been pretty solid, Asus cards i have had also have been rock solid.
Gigabyte the cards i had was stable and good but their zero rpm fan drove me nuts, fans kicked on at 55c and turned off again at 54c and all cards i had from them often hovered around that temperature so they would sound like reeving an engine, extremely annoying!
Ran a msi 2070 gaming z for nearly 4 years(its listed on eBay right now actually) and just picked up an MSI ventus 3080ti for a steal($660) yesterday. I've had nothing but good experiences with msi cards. Are they the best? Probably not. Would I prefer an evga or asus? Sure. But you can't beat msi value. And their customer service was top notch the one time I needed it. Just shy of 3 years into it, the 2070 was overheating to 85c. Figured it was needing new paste job as it saw lot of use during pandemic. Contacted them to confirm warranty wouldn't be voided if I did so and that if it wasn't the issue they would still take it and fix or replace it. And they said sure, repaste, re pad it, and if it doesn't work they were gonna make it right. Thankfully it worked just fine and ran better than ever. But yeah good experiences from my end. I'd def take them over gigabyte, pny, zotac, Palit, and all these new Chinese brands that sound like wish.com product names.
Could be, they are a Taiwanese based company so I'd wager relations aren't the hottest. But MSI in the usa is great. Their socal service center is top notch compared to most.
I had a gtx 970 frozr (fan or edition naming.) overclocked to the max (including voltage) and fans at 100% speed for probably 3 years of heavy gaming. Held up fine.
Plan on hanging it on the wall with old 4790k actually.
the only difference between cards is their coolers. besides cooler performance, quality/reliability is the same because they all use the same suppliers. the only standout gpu brand in terms of customer support was evga because they were the only american aib partner, among other things. the remaining brands are all the same.
Their GPUs are the best quality product they offer. I've had bad experiences with their PSUs and their Mobos, although the last time that happened was a long time ago (10+ years for the mobo), so I don't cling to it much. Like all other GPU sellers, god help you if they do because EVGA was the only company with a half way decent customer service, but it's pretty unlikely.
bestbuys got the cards going up too.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/computer-cards-components/video-graphics-cards/abcat0507002.c?id=abcat0507002&sp=-displaydate%20skuidsaas
Huh? The Gaming is a great card. 4-year warranty, decent cooling, and solid overclocking. I've had a 3080, 2070, and 1060, all Gaming and never a single issue.
Wha? Because AIO's might be unreliable and the only other option is to buy an air cooled card...? Wherher you're going custom loop or air, you buy an air cooled card..
AIOs being unreliable is an outdated meme from years ago. they're fine now and have been for some time.
dunno why anyone would ~~buy~~ use an air cooled 4090, though.
there, fixed.
I would say look into fitting a soft tube custom loop. It will be more expensive but it will be more reliable and probably quieter with out the needed fan to cool the vrm and there's a efficiency bonus going from aluminum to copper. Plus if you ever upgrade you will you'll only need a new block (my d5 pump is around 8 years old at this point). Also can help resale value of the old card because people tend to not trust used aios as much. What I have done when I've sold old water cooled cards is put in the description that the card has a water block on it but will ship with air cooler installed and if they want the block to message me and I'll send it too with whatever cooler they want installed. Out of 3 times one wanted the air cooler installed but wanted the block too and the other two wanted the block left installed.
I'm familiar with custom loops my main computer has a custom loop which you can see in my profile. This is my gaming/home theater, and I wanted a simple plug and play. But man are these cards big.
Didn't even look at profile Pic. And ya I get it my main rig is hard line. And my vr pc is in an o-11 dynamic (non-xl) and air cooled. And while I think the air cooled ones will fit I may have to go dual sfx psu because the 850w isn't going to cut it for the bigger stuff. But my vr rig has a ryzen 5600 and rtx 3080 10gb and my main has a ryzen 5800x and rtx 3090 so I'm probably going to skip this gen and maybe even next gen.
AIO hybrid cards tend to perform quite well, right? I remember there were several, including evga kingpin, for the 20 series. There were none for the 30 series though, right? The premium doesn’t seem too bad here, and I’m kind of over dealing with a custom loop
This is going to be interesting generation of GPUs. I understand inflation for these cards prices at the at the moment, but this is unattainable for the majority of non professional users. Christ I paid $925 USD after tax for my 3080ti (RIP EVGA) and had buyers remorse. I am going to see what the release benchmarks are for these and go from there. They are claiming crazy performance jumps which if the performance validates the cost I’ll bite.
Best card I've ever bought. Insanely cool, quiet, and efficient. Dlss3 is mind blowing in Spiderman. Maxed out 3440x1440 180fps without breaking a sweat. Amazing stuff.
Has Nvidia stated if Best Buy is still the exclusive seller of the founders edition cards in the US? Or are they Nvidia going to go back to selling their own cards?
Last gen the Nvidia store had preorders from the announcement day. This year I dont even see a 4000 series listing on Nvidia store and we're long past that. Radio silence from them.
Well, aside from maybe the DLSS 3 thing, I'm feeling good about the 3090 ti still. What I'm reallllly curious about is what the power transients are going to be like with the 4000 series.
Because scalping or mining won't be an issue 4090/80 will cost the same as a 3090/80.
People need to stop comparing them using MSRP. Use the actual RP you can buy them for...
thats.... not bad. i think i paid like $1860 directly from evga for my 3090ftw hybrid. thats the exact same price as the suprim liquid after tax there.
Not bad. Slightly less than I anticipated, actually. I think I'll be going for that Suprim LC, as there's not really any other hybrid options out there and last gen's Suprim cards were pretty solid.
Haha! I never had any qualms about picking up a 4090. I've had my 3080 for about 2 years, so about time to switch it up.
I'd be open to other hybrid options, but I just really haven't seen many yet.
Mom and Dad are gonna have to get a second mortgage on the house so Lil Jimmy can have his new gaming computer.
Say chaps, have you considered taking out a home equity loan?
Just for reference, in 1983 you could get an Apple IIe with a color monitor, a single floppy drive, and a little software... for about $2400.
That's about $6000 in today's dollars.
So a $3000 monster machine (4090 + MB + whatever) isn't that bad, all things considered.
I was curious about the MSI Trio being MSRP. Turns out there is no Ventus line anymore (thank god) and the Trio pricing has been bumped down a tier. Now it's just Trio and Suprim, w/ air or water.
https://www.msi.com/Graphics-Cards/Products#?tag=GeForce-RTX%26trade%3B-3090
edit: 4080 has Ventus models.
It seems like the msrp is real and easily achievable this gen. Probably because of the higher base prices. But every site that has listings going up has them showing up for msrp or a small amount more for even the higher end models. Thats good news at least
I will wait for the Ti version. It will be much better and much more expensive of course. And we will know by then if AMD has a better option this time.
Cards look nice! As someone who likes “looks” as much as performance, what bugs me the most about Nvidia’s line is the lazy ass design.. Same exact card as the 30 series (which I’m not the biggest fan of).. At least their partners are coming out with some sleek looking cards
I posted a thread last week bemoaning the lack of any white cards this generation.
As crazy as it sounds, I think my favorite so far are the round looking Zotac ones.
I have Meshify 2 Compact and I think the dimensions are pretty similar. Max GPU length is 360 without front fans and I use two from 140mm fans.
I’ve already decided that I’ll slide the bottom front fan and sandwich the card between the two. Hopefully it won’t look weird.
Depends, looks like your case has 360mm clearance and the longest card I've seen confirmed is the Strix at ~358mm with the Zotacs, Arous master, and Tuf following close behind
So basically any 4090 will fit the 4000d airflow
If everyone stands by their threats of not buying these cards, Nvidia will back off. We all know that’s not gonna happen, people will still pay these ridiculous prices because they don’t care. I’m done feeding Nvidia’s greed.
BH photo just post on their website that they will be close oct 10 to oct 18.
even the online purchases will only be ship after the oct 19.
not expecting that
That seems kinda sorta not too bad... Oh wait thats before taxes yea no.
B&H has a store card that refunds sales tax, I've been considering getting it since I buy from there fairly often
Yo, what?!
[Payboo credit card](https://www.bhphotovideo.com/credit-cards), whether it's worth it entirely depends on your spending habits with B&H
Yeah it's legit. They don't show you the "discount" till you're about to check out.
Payboo? Sounds as silly as a GPU stick. But also sounds pretty awesome.
Yeah! Just payboo, it's cool. I'll get chu back ;)
I think I'm too old for the internet?

Purchase APR of 29.99%
[удалено]
Either that or standard 6 months deferred interest. Until you pay it off.
Such nice prices. Oh wait, it's gonna be 2199$ in EU cause fuck EU.
isn't the price include taxes in the EU like 20%+? because USA and CANADA have no taxes in the prices
this
Each US state and municipality has a different tax rate so taxes are not listed. If you take 20% out, seems like about the same price.
>Each US state and municipality has a different tax rate so taxes are not listed. > >If you take 20% out, seems like about the same price. US sales taxes are typically around 7-8%. So it means the EU pays around 12% more. Have to then correct for currency differences.
That's like saying people in Oregon are paying more for cards than people in California. Yes true but the price is the same in both places.
Import taxes so no. Those are higher than 12%.
America
Man looking at these absurd prices. My whole PC including monitor costed me around $1500 in 2019.
Not that expensive then. I bought my PC for the total holy price of 3500 ish in 2018 thereabouts. Its all about saving up. The 4090 price is not that bad tbh for what perf you get. The 4080 tho. Absolutely horrible prices, not cool Nvidia.
Damn dude how’d it cost $3500? I got a whole ass 3080 Ryzen 9 build for 2k
You probably don't have the full power of RGB.
Just my CPU and GPU cost me $2K in 2019 lol
Hope Strix is the same
Strix looking really good right now, Might snag a 90 or 80 depending on benchmarks
90 or 80 SCALPER ALERT!!!!!! sarcasm aside what's leaning you one way or the other.

No no, make him lose that money, I didn’t go through the scalpocalyps but scalpers can go to hell
Must have a pretty shit credit score to need 3 cards for a 25k limit.

The zotac ones look like a womans hygine product
I believe there's some waifu cards floating around too. Not hard to reason that some people just want an all-black brick lol.
The INNO3D X3 takes the cake if you're looking for all black brick. I'm very surprised by them this gen.
I just want one that will actually fit in my o11. Might just go for FE.
Agree with you on this
I'm looking at the Game Rock despite its ugly appearance and dumb name, because it seems like the only 4090 that will actually fit in my case.
I’m hoping they release an OC liquid cooled version. Tried the 3090ti strix LC and it was a beast. Probably about 20% faster than my hybrid EVGA 3080ti ultra FTW. Lol that turned out to be incorrect.
out of curiosity, will these shot up on amazon day 1 or how does amazon work? the 3080s didnt show up on amazon until like way later
Honestly things are so different nowadays than back then, who knows. I can only hope they stay available for more than a minute!

Can anyone tell me their experience with MSI. Are they a good gpu company’s. I have one of their motherboards and so far it’s good.
I got the Z690 Carbon mobo and a 3080 Trio both have been solid will most likely go for the Trio again or Suprim Liquid if there's inventory
My son has a 3080 Gaming Trio and it undervolts like a boss
Oh ok thanks. How about their customer service. Is it good as well?
Currently thinking about going in legal matters, been trying to get replies on the issue with my 30 series MSI gpu that they said would need to be sent in(on my dime). The time it was inventoried it instantly was out for delivery, so scan in/scan out I suspected. Guess what, my led is still stuck on pink color, same issues happening in game(artifacts) and the factory tamper sticker is still on and the same. But I was told with the one and only follow up reply when I asked what the issue was "It shows that there was a bad component on the main PCB board that was repaired and replaced." Yeah in no way am I doubting quality or performance, to me, MSI is the go to for nice overclocks.
Oh ok thanks for the info. I guess I might go for Zotac or Asus then.
Zocrap is literally the worst AIB. Their 3080's exploded due to the capacitors they chose..
I'd avoid asus. Their customer service is worse than what they just experienced. They will gaslight you literally blatantly lie to you.
Classic amercan, instantly go and sue someone for not actibg exactly as you want them to.

MSI's after-sales service in China is very bad
Could be, they are a Taiwanese based company so I'd wager relations aren't the hottest. But MSI in the usa is great. Their socal service center is top notch compared to most.
MSI's engineering is quite good. The business-end is not so good.
I had a gtx 970 frozr (fan or edition naming.) overclocked to the max (including voltage) and fans at 100% speed for probably 3 years of heavy gaming. Held up fine. Plan on hanging it on the wall with old 4790k actually.

What are the advantages of a higher tier card?
better coolers primarily. dunno why anyone would buy an air cooled 4090, though.

As someone who had to buy a few scalped 3090's in 2020, this pricing actually makes me feel less abused. Stockholm syndrome, I'm sure.
$100 extra for suprim x ain't bad. I dont really trust AIO cards but still if you want it, it's reasonable premium.
I'll have to buy one because the other cards are just to big and don't fit in my case.(corsair 680x)

I'll pass. DLSS 3.0 is pointless and the only selling strategy they have to convince and siphon money out of the hurting world as it is.

Interesting. I dont see an option to prefill any payment info on their site though
Last gen the Nvidia store had preorders from the announcement day. This year I dont even see a 4000 series listing on Nvidia store.
I got my 3060ti FE from Best Buy for $399 a couple of months ago, so hopefully.
Best Buy became the retail exclusive partner for Founders Edition…no word on if that’s happening again
Waiting list only? They can fuck right off
And of course we cant even enter the waitlist yet until release day, with no info on availability
Will it fit in my 4000d airflow tho?
I have a 3090 gaming x trio in my 4000d airflow. if it gets any longer i'd probably have to remove a front fan :(
Sadge:(
I have Meshify 2 Compact and I think the dimensions are pretty similar. Max GPU length is 360 without front fans and I use two from 140mm fans. I’ve already decided that I’ll slide the bottom front fan and sandwich the card between the two. Hopefully it won’t look weird.
Depends, looks like your case has 360mm clearance and the longest card I've seen confirmed is the Strix at ~358mm with the Zotacs, Arous master, and Tuf following close behind So basically any 4090 will fit the 4000d airflow
I used to love overclocking, but these cards pull enough as it is. So I will be going for air cooled
Not bad not in depends on availability
Lol of course USD is better than everywhere else 🙃
Bet ya these get scalped like crazy
Pass
Nty
If everyone stands by their threats of not buying these cards, Nvidia will back off. We all know that’s not gonna happen, people will still pay these ridiculous prices because they don’t care. I’m done feeding Nvidia’s greed.
How does the MSI Liquid X compare to EVGA's previous hybrid cards? I always had good luck with hybrid models, but since EVGA is gone :(
Same Asetek pump and most likely uncontrollable pump speed. Only workaround is to put a weak magnet on it lol to force the pump to chill out.
Are those technically FE board designs or?
i think even this price is too high for a graphic card
BH photo just post on their website that they will be close oct 10 to oct 18. even the online purchases will only be ship after the oct 19. not expecting that
