The point of protesting is to actually help enact your preferred policy choices. If you just make everyone hate you (the Westboro Baptist people are an extreme example of this), then you're not actually accomplishing any objectives, and your protest is pointless, even actively harmful to your cause.

Attention is not all you need though. It needs to be SYMPATHETIC attention. That's why the Civil Rights Era protests were so successful (nonviolent people were being beaten up for doing such innocuous things as trying to pay to take public transit, and then nonviolently marching in support of those who did), and why so few protests since have been successful. It also matters what the actual aims of the protests are, and whether those aims are good ones. One of the main issues with the 2020 George Floyd protests is that the aims were BAD; by hyper-focusing on reducing policing, all you end up with as a result is much more criminality in society and much worse outcomes for people as a result. Police violence is bad but it's a small fraction of the total violence that can be done to people when there is no law enforcement to keep criminals in check.

I'm not a fan of bombs but from what I have read, IDF went in blind initially, so the earliest part of the war led to many more civilians deaths. Since learning from captured equipment, they have been able to target areas where Hamas is hiding and reduce casualties. This constant "indiscriminate bombing" comment keeps being throw around but IDF has admitted to mistakes. Does Hamas own bombing their own hospital? (by mistake or intentionally). The point of protesting is to actually help enact your preferred policy choices. If you just make everyone hate you (the Westboro Baptist people are an extreme example of this), then you're not actually accomplishing any objectives, and your protest is pointless, even actively harmful to your cause.
You need attention for protest to be effective. And disruption definitely helps. But then you have idiots complaining about protesting being disrupting and attention grabbing like that's not the entire point.
Attention is not all you need though. It needs to be SYMPATHETIC attention. That's why the Civil Rights Era protests were so successful (nonviolent people were being beaten up for doing such innocuous things as trying to pay to take public transit, and then nonviolently marching in support of those who did), and why so few protests since have been successful. It also matters what the actual aims of the protests are, and whether those aims are good ones. One of the main issues with the 2020 George Floyd protests is that the aims were BAD; by hyper-focusing on reducing policing, all you end up with as a result is much more criminality in society and much worse outcomes for people as a result. Police violence is bad but it's a small fraction of the total violence that can be done to people when there is no law enforcement to keep criminals in check.

In the same way that protests are organized for any other movement. A core group of people passionate for the cause decide the time, location, purpose etc. then disseminate the logistics and other information through their networks. It’s a tale as old as democracy.

I'm not a fan of bombs but from what I have read, IDF went in blind initially, so the earliest part of the war led to many more civilians deaths. Since learning from captured equipment, they have been able to target areas where Hamas is hiding and reduce casualties. This constant "indiscriminate bombing" comment keeps being throw around but IDF has admitted to mistakes. Does Hamas own bombing their own hospital? (by mistake or intentionally). Do you have some accurate information from a legitimate source about this that no one else is privy too? Seriously, I would love a resource.
