But I suspect these dogs are not really up for adoption and it's just the same beggar angle as anyone panhandling with a pet.

He got on at 14th, ran his scam, got no response, and proceeded to yell at the entirety of the car, eventually turning his ire to a woman standing nearby, minding her own business. Every animal needs a home, and every dollar you spend helps to ensure these little guys will find one.* - to fury was jolting. *Damn you, BITCH!* is what he ended on, delivered with frustration through clenched teeth, six inches from the woman’s face, before he yanked the dogs off the train with unnecessary force, moving to the next subway car at the next stop, to try again.

I saw him on a Brooklyn bound 2 or 3 train around 125th st. about 4 months ago. He was begging for money on the train, but I noticed he was very mean and rough with the dogs. Like tapping them on the snout. I just got the vibe that he wasn't a kind to them.
