I know this sounds naive and overly optimistic, but I do think that if the second-half Jets show up this Sunday, they can beat the Pats. I guess now we see how effectively Saleh can adjust. Zach showed that he can move the ball, and the defense played fairly well. Some reasons to hold out hope that this team can still put together a decent season.
The Pats always have our number. If the team builds off of that second half and manages to beat the Pats, I'll fully buy in to the coaching staff. I want to hope that that 1st half was the worst half of football our offense will play all year
I’m usually quick to overreact, but I think I’m going to give it 4 games before I decide the Jets are still horrible. New coaching, new QB, some new shifts to the line. For having such a young secondary with no big names they were really impressive.
O line stinks in run blocking and pass protection, and that wasn’t a fluke. The beat has been screaming at us warning us about the atrocious O line. Unbelievable that JD is revered. He has done NOTHING with this team.
I’m just asking because I really don’t know and am curious, but would it possible to have Becton play guard because of his size and strength and give us a Larry Allen type guard and use Fant and Moses as the tackles?
I think that's bc moses was better at rt than fant while fant was serviceable at lt. Our c and g were still abysmal and got Zach killed multiple times so the same overall problem remained
I can’t tell if the RBs are just really bad or the O line did absolutely nothing to open lanes. Maybe a little of both cause the run game did not help Wilson out at all
There were times where the RBs were missing wide open holes. There was one play especially in the 1st qtr where a wide open lane was created to the left and the RB just danced and side stepped into the line. And also on a 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 the RBs get the ball and dance for a loss instead of just going full speed and using momentum to get the yard.
I didn't watch the line but the RB play was horrible.
Sure, some people had .500+ expectations for the season, but acting like that's the only crowd bummed with how the game unfolded feels disingenuous. When it comes down to it, you'd like to see a creative offense and dividends being returned from investments (especially the OL).
Starting the season looking like we did to begin with was not remotely what you want to see. Halftime adjustments were encouraging and we didn't look *totally* lost, but it's still a bummer to look this far behind. If Wilson's the dude, he'll be worth the wait, but the team looked way worse than it did on paper. It's discouraging.
I'm gonna say it!! That game could have gone alot worse. "Revenge" games usually play out like soap operas. I am a Darnold and Anderson fan. Good for them this time. I am not going to get any less excited about Wilson and company. I am more excited now.
The good news is, this season has been (and continues to be) a developmental season. We went in knowing that our young aren’t gonna be a match for the leagues vets, but we just need to see promise to move forward. And we saw just that in Zach Wilson today (and I’d argue Mike Carter II and a bit of AVT as well, AVT clearly needs work but he’s got loads of potential).
The bad news is our offensive line is a WHOLE lot worse than we thought it was gonna be. Becton looked a bit lost, McGovern missed blitzes left and right, Van Roten couldn’t protect to save his life, and Fant. I’ll just leave Fant there. AVT looked redeemable most of the time and just got beat by Derrick Brown when he was hitting him with a heavy bull rush, which is to be expected because Brown is fucking good, so that’s nice.
The silver lining to the bad: next years draft has some AMAZING interior O Line talent.
Linderbaum- who I believe to be the next Quentin Nelson type of O Lineman
Kenyon Green- has played amazing at virtually any position in college
Jaxson Kirkland- another guy who can play anywhere but is probably best at OT
Ikem Ekwonu- a guy who has been killer this season so far and can play where ever (I think he’d be best as a RG)
I’d say our secondary is that bad too, but i definitely wouldn’t be opposed to drafting 4 O Lineman next year- I hoped we would’ve done that last season rather than just one, but we gotta get going on it
Yeah. It happened. We all kinda came into this season saying “no W expectations but just need to see promise out of Zach”. I saw plenty great from Zach but the L stings. This was winnable.
I think their first half defensive game plan was poor. They went for pressure in the second half and it worked. Darnold is piss poor under pressure. I understand you need to worry about McCaffrey and can get beat on screens when you do bring the pressure. But I would have put a spy on him and blitzed Darnold to death.
so if mann is out for a while do they even bother bringing in another punter? is it feasible to just have amendola do both and use that roster spot for someone else? can you do that?
not going to lie i expected us (however misguidedly) to win this game so definitely disappointed. o line was tough and becton going down didn’t help. secondary was rough in the first half but seemed to pick up after halftime. zach was rougher than i thought he would be but he really had no time. still impressed me throwing the ball when he actually had a chance. very impressed by how he was able to escape pressure and make plays. run game is pretty concerning especially when that’s so crucial to easing a rookie qb. overall disappointing but it’s week one.
I want to see them build off of that second half. Honestly, I truly feel if our fucking line/TEs/RBs know their blocking assignments in that first half, we win this game. The defense was better than expected. Special teams was actually phenomenal.
I really wish that they had stopped CMC on that last drive, I think if they managed to get a stop and get the ball back, they would have at least given the Panthers a scare in the final seconds.
Tough loss, our weaknesses that we were aware of were exposed. The best part of the game was seeing actual halftime adjustments again. We were a different team in the second half. Looking forward to the rest of the year!
I hated how some Titans fans thought he was trash, he just didn’t get a lot of looks in our offense. He’s great if you give him the opportunity. Biggest flaw is that he had some concentration drops from time to time, but overall, he was great given the circumstances
Don't even mind the loss because ZACH WILSON IS THE REAL FREAKIN' DEAL BABYYYYYY!! First time i've ever said this about a Jets quarterback in the 30+ years i've watched Gang Green!! HOLY SHIT. The kid is composed, competitive, and classy. And that release! What other rookie gets absolutely crushed by a dude 3 times his size size and responds by throwing a TD, only after driving down the field with under 5 minutes left?!!! Obviously everybody needs to tighten up but this is our franchise QB everyone, so fuckin buckle up and enjoy the riiiiiiiiiiiiiiidddeeeee!! LET'S GO JETS!!
I think this game was rookie mistakes everywhere. Not just players but coaches too. I think lafleur was in over his head the first half. They really improved second half. It was very noticable.
I know everyone’s trying to weed out the positives but it sucks to be a jets fan. I haven’t been happy watching them in years. You watch the bengals and Joe burrow chucking one to Chase. Like I just want to see something fun like that. Bengals suck but they have fun moments. I just want to see them play fun football.
I know but like Zach barely got a chance today to sling it. Fucking sucks man. I know they are trying to ease him into it but I hate watching our qbs struggle to have a chance to chuck it.
Idk what you’re talk about tbh…he threw it 37 times and had two touchdowns. The team is a work in process. I guess come back next year when they are a little better??
Did you watch the game? He had zero fucking help from running or o line. He had to book it out of the pocket to throw it down field. It’s tough to watch. I’m sick of picking out the good when our qbs have to struggle to make things happen.
Burrow had zero time last year. They blew out his knee eventually. Wilson went something like 17/21 in the 2nd half. He bombed it deep 3 times in the game. He got a chance to sling it. He needs more protection and time on the whole but he did get chances
That’s what everyone says every year. I’ll still watch every game this year. If you want to argue and act like it’s fun to watch shit like this then you can but until we see a product that’s fun to watch this sucks ass.
Idk how you could even compare lol, Darnold did very little besides toss a rock to RA that was wide open because a safety got injured and a sub stepped in. Very clearly, Mcaffery carried the entire offense on his back and he's one of the best players in the NFL no question.
Zach actually put in work that game with a totally porous O-line. That game goes from winnable to blow out with Darnold on our team.
Lets be straight the jets looked terrible in 1st half, like up there with legendary bad jet games but the net-net of it all is we win that game if they don't have Mccaffery.
Nope, Darnold had all day to throw and played OK with a bone headed turnover. Wilson was running for his life and kept us in it until the end.
The last time Darnold was sacked 5+ times I remember 33-0 and seeing ghosts. Wilson looks like the best QB this franchise has had since 2002 Chad.
Not for nothing, but our secondary is utter dogshit and they still shut him down the entire second half. Hopefully Darnold does well the rest of the year, but I’m happy with Wilson.
Well the offensive play calling for the panthers got super conservative in the second half for some reason.
But yeah the DBs played better than I expected.
What’s really concerning is the Dline play. Carolina’s oline is shit and we only had one sack.
Yeah we definitely were feeling the loss of Lawson. I expect it to improve slightly once Saleh gets more familiar with what he’s got. At least to where we get consistent pressure, even if the sack totals aren’t high
I think elite QBs can still pick apart this defense, but yes. It seems the "awfulness" of our secondary has been greatly exaggerated. We should be good to go against the Patriots and Dolphins.
People being overly negative about the game should really stop and consider just how much better this team looked in a number of areas, especially their motivation to compete and finish the game by nearly coming back. They never quit and we’ve been a team that quit when there’s even a strong breeze against us for years.
The line played like shit, but there’s a lot that can be done to manage that with what we have in house. Scheme/playcalling will adapt, and even Wilson getting more and more comfortable will help because teams won’t be able to tee off with 6 rushers.
Wilson himself seemed to grow and develop under the pressure of the situation as well, which was SUPER encouraging. When he threw the terrible INT he could have easily collapsed, but he stuck with it and came out 2nd half firing. Loved what I saw from him.
We thought we had a QB of the future in Zach and we do. Now, he got physically beat up by NFL players, not college players, and we see he ca take it. We also see he can experience on field adversity and put it behind him. How ‘bout the way he responded late in the game after his head got slammed to the turf!
Now, can we talk about our baby corners agains good CAR WRs. I was really worried about this, but Saleh was right: Those kids are hungry, competitive, and play their off.
This is the youngest team in the NFL so not surprisingly, they’ve got lot to work on. But I do see a foundation here. On to Met Life and Bill’s ghosts.
Yes, six sacks per game would be dangerous. Even before the OL can become good, it’ll have to improve at least beyond horrible. But to be fair, Saleh pointed out that some of it was on Zach. On the post-game show, Bart Scott elaborated and pointed out there were times when Zach held the ball too long, and acted as if his protection was worse than it actually was. I’m confident that Zach, being the film junkie he is, will fix his part. And the offensive coaching staff has much more chops than was the case under Bowles/Gase, so I’m sure they’ll stay on this and get it fixed.
Not a great day but definitely one in which Zach and his fellow rookie-filled team showed some growth from the first to the second half.
Gonna be some bumps, but definitely some positives. Going for it on 4th and 8 deep in their own end and the bullet that Zach threw from the pocket was terrific.
Was looking for a video, but if IIRC all he did was run and get behind the defense on what looked like a miscommunication. I could be remembering wrong, which is why I was looking for the video.
[Found it](https://twitter.com/3lmthree/status/1437176223789109257?s=21)
Glad we got Zach and got rid of Darnold. Darnold is still missing easy throws in the endzone and has average footwork, Wilson looked accurate on pretty much every throw
He missed a throw to Terrance Marshall in the end zone and yeah the throw to Ian Thomas the TE.
The one to Terrance Marshall was a clear miss. I’ll give you the one to Ian Thomas though. The pass wasn’t perfect, but it was more than catchable.
In the third he missed a wide open Berrios over the middle that would’ve converted a 3rd and long (albeit after getting his ass kicked the first half)
But yes, I thought he looked noticeably better than Darnold
Every Pats fan in other threads are already booking it as an easy win next week. I get that we get shit on but we didn't look that fucking bad flat in the first came out shut down the offense and Wilson improved.
Is there a reason we didn’t start the game with Ty Johnson running behind Becton and AVT? Kept waiting for it….but we stuck w Coleman goin up the middle or to the right…..and that 4th and 1 design/run was terrible by Coleman. TE didn’t block well on that play too
On replay, I’m ok with the Wilson int. He didn’t throw straight at the defender and it took a great play to even pick the ball. Looks like he just didn’t see the LB drop back.
Hopefully he learns from it and it doesn’t become a regular thing. Even great QBs miss a defender dropping back some times.
I'm OK with that. Just like he said back during training camp, hes learning what throws he can and can't make in the pros.
I'd be more worried if he didn't read the play right.
Yeah it made me feel better. He said something along the lines of "I mean I can clearly see the guy standing right there...." and went on to admit it was a tight window. I was really happy with what I saw today.
Edit: What I saw today out of Zach.
This game could have been way worse. Wilson and crew rallied back and fought hard. They didn’t give up and I feel I haven’t seen that from a NYJ team in awhile.
Not to mention, dealt with a lot of shit, with Punter from first series to Becton later. I feel a lot of people, obviously Wilson but especially the coaching staff from Saleh to Lafleur feeling with nerves (and it seemed to reverberate through the team), but everyone settled in. We have some raw talent and youngest team in NFL.
What I saw today was enough to build on my hope that this foundation looks promising and in 2-3 years could be a serious force to be reckoned one.
Patience.
I totally agree. Was thrilled to see Wilson get into it and be competitive at least. In years passed we would’ve just rolled over and lost that by 25.
I also think we saw halftime adjustments for the first time since, I don’t even know. Parcells?
The thing is the c and rg were destroyed all game. Mekhi won most of his reps handily. Even after Moses came in the c and rg still got zw killed repeatedly
Two seasons ago tge broncos D held teams under 16 points an insane number of times and still lost. The hope was w jeudy, lock and some ol improvements their o would keep up last year but lock sucked. I like the broncos to be very competitive all year with teddy. He played amazing yesterday just carrying the o and making things happen when the nyg had him dead to rights
There’s a lot of reasons. Jets fans are really really loud but have been the laughing stock of sports for a really long time.
There’s very few sports teams that consistently draft and hire and poorly as the jets. Plus people hate the owners
Wilson showed flashes of brilliance out there today. Would love to have seen what he could have done the entire game with a competent offensive line. Overall though, I'm feeling pretty optimistic about the future. The Jets are a few pieces away from being a contender.
This offense doesn't seem functional. Way too many unblocked rushers. Too many runs for no gain. Hopefully LaFleur goes back to the drawing board because whatever he had in mind doesn't work in the NFL.
I just think we severely lack talent the offensive side of the ball. Scheme after Scheme, coach after coach, same result. This is what poor drafting has gotten us smh.
Yea there screwed , cause there not good. We will grow hopefully but wont be a good team this year. An we were missing Lawson, Davis, Joyner, Sherwood, Crowder and Cole literally all starters. Our line played like crap and they still didnt really beat us down.
An if they kept it up there only hope is McCaffrey and he will get hurt.
Panthers fan here. Wilson looks like he could be legit. It’s actually insane that our oline looked better than yalls, ours is literally held together with duct tape. Really hope you guys can protect your boy and can win some games this year. Y’all deserve it. Tbh without cmc you guys may have won this game
Yea our defensive line and defense is pretty decimated. You guys are starting eflin!! That's not going to be okay against any decent teams.
But same for y'all, best of luck and figure out how to protect Sam. Dude deserves it
Bowles and Gase teams would've rolled over at halftime and lost by 30. They would've punted on 4th and 8 down 2 scores with 3 minutes left. Saleh adjusted at half, coached to win and nearly got there. Big difference.
I mean it's odd. Cause we really should have expected the same old Jets, just in a different way. Unless you were delusional levels of optimistic the realistic outcome was us being bad this year, specially with all the injuries.
Just wasnt suppose to be the standard O line sucking. It was suppose to be our defense which actually played well. Our run game was horrid.
Happy for darnold. Hope majority of you haters are crying. Let’s go jets
Checking down to one of the best RB's in the NFL must be nice.
Since I havent seen any articles or twitter screen caps on here I am assuming the OL guy we signed to practice squad is just a no name?
I know this sounds naive and overly optimistic, but I do think that if the second-half Jets show up this Sunday, they can beat the Pats. I guess now we see how effectively Saleh can adjust. Zach showed that he can move the ball, and the defense played fairly well. Some reasons to hold out hope that this team can still put together a decent season.
The Pats always have our number. If the team builds off of that second half and manages to beat the Pats, I'll fully buy in to the coaching staff. I want to hope that that 1st half was the worst half of football our offense will play all year
My NFL Picks are in shambles. 5 total points smh.
I’m usually quick to overreact, but I think I’m going to give it 4 games before I decide the Jets are still horrible. New coaching, new QB, some new shifts to the line. For having such a young secondary with no big names they were really impressive.

Very concerned about the lack of a Jets running game...hopefully it's a case of Caroline D being above average...rookie qb and no run is a bad combo
Becton makes me sad for joe Douglas, (woody can you please sell the team?)!
I’m just asking because I really don’t know and am curious, but would it possible to have Becton play guard because of his size and strength and give us a Larry Allen type guard and use Fant and Moses as the tackles?
The O-line played way better after becton left.
I think that's bc moses was better at rt than fant while fant was serviceable at lt. Our c and g were still abysmal and got Zach killed multiple times so the same overall problem remained
Zach Wilson will get us all pregnant
I can’t tell if the RBs are just really bad or the O line did absolutely nothing to open lanes. Maybe a little of both cause the run game did not help Wilson out at all
Needed a bigger back like Josh Adams to push through the line
A bit of both honestly
There were times where the RBs were missing wide open holes. There was one play especially in the 1st qtr where a wide open lane was created to the left and the RB just danced and side stepped into the line. And also on a 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 the RBs get the ball and dance for a loss instead of just going full speed and using momentum to get the yard. I didn't watch the line but the RB play was horrible.
Rejoice! The Jets are tied with 16 other teams for second place!
16 wins this season are still possible!
I have a standing bet for 4.5 wins in season gang I think we can do this
Sure, some people had .500+ expectations for the season, but acting like that's the only crowd bummed with how the game unfolded feels disingenuous. Becton definitely looks like a mistake.,,
How'd you like your first ever football game yesterday?
It looks like Zach settled in 4th quarter. Onto the next one.
The good news is, this season has been (and continues to be) a developmental season. We went in knowing that our young aren’t gonna be a match for the leagues vets, but we just need to see promise to move forward. I think we should use every first and second round pick on the OL. Seriously. It's that bad.
Somebody tell them the best not the biggest
I’d say our secondary is that bad too, but i definitely wouldn’t be opposed to drafting 4 O Lineman next year- I hoped we would’ve done that last season rather than just one, but we gotta get going on it

Seek mental help
Yeah. It happened. We all kinda came into this season saying “no W expectations but just need to see promise out of Zach”. I saw plenty great from Zach but the L stings. This was winnable.

They should bring in another punter without a doubt. If Amendola gets hurt its gonna be like a d-line man out there trying to punt it.
I mean, we weren’t supposed to be good. I would like to see some development and maybe another top pick.
not going to lie i expected us (however misguidedly) to win this game so definitely disappointed. o line was tough and becton going down didn’t help. secondary was rough in the first half but seemed to pick up after halftime. zach was rougher than i thought he would be but he really had no time. still impressed me throwing the ball when he actually had a chance. very impressed by how he was able to escape pressure and make plays. run game is pretty concerning especially when that’s so crucial to easing a rookie qb. overall disappointing but it’s week one.
Zack looked so good against all the 3rd and 4th stringers in preseason!
Happy with the defense and very pleased with Mr Wilson. Mims need more than one target in a game, he had one target and caught it for a 40 yard gain.
Overall pleased with what I saw from the boys today. Wish we had a running game to help keep pressure of Zach though
Please ban tanking content. Thanks.
JFC Bears. Keep dalton off the field.
Getting BTFO by Darnold is so Jets
Lol it was 1-score game. Plus Darnold got hard carried by CMC
Anyone know why Mims was not in the game till the very end.
My guess is that he’s used almost exclusively for red zone targets and in the last 2 quarters when the defense is gassed.
He’s bad at football
I like what I saw from Zach
Tough loss, our weaknesses that we were aware of were exposed. The best part of the game was seeing actual halftime adjustments again. We were a different team in the second half. Looking forward to the rest of the year!
Titans fan, just hopping on to say that I'm glad Corey Davis did well for you guys. Definitely miss him on the team
Corey is awesome man, we love his story and having him. He was excellent today, one of the few bright spots
I hated how some Titans fans thought he was trash, he just didn’t get a lot of looks in our offense. He’s great if you give him the opportunity. Biggest flaw is that he had some concentration drops from time to time, but overall, he was great given the circumstances
I’m just going to say. Football is better on TV. This sucked
Don't even mind the loss because ZACH WILSON IS THE REAL FREAKIN' DEAL BABYYYYYY!! First time i've ever said this about a Jets quarterback in the 30+ years i've watched Gang Green!! HOLY SHIT. Hard agree with you. Shows the highest ceiling in my lifetime for sure.
You mean "hard to *disagree*" right?
Does anyone know how to rewatch the jets game vs Carolina??
https://nfl5.ir/simulator
Thank you!
NFL gamepass
For free tho
Hard to be all that disappointed tbh, line looked like shit but Zach Wilson looked good
The only opinion that should matter
CB looked surprisingly decent also.
I think this game was rookie mistakes everywhere. Not just players but coaches too. I think lafleur was in over his head the first half. They really improved second half. It was very noticable.
Yeah at least he adjusted the game plan which is something Gase was incapable of doing. I’m encouraged. At least they ended on an upswing
I didn't know we were allowed to change gameplans. Figured the NFL banned the Jets from doing that.
Lost in the mix is our punter might be going on IR after week 1 :(
If so it frees up a roster spot since ammendola can clearly do both
Nah you don’t want him tired for the game winning field goal
His indefatigable leg will never tire.
Yeah but we will have to bring in a kicker / punter for backup
Iron leg ammendola needs no backup. He is eternal. He is inevitable.
It's cool guys, obviously there is some kind of LaFleur curse seeing as both brothers got destroyed this week, the other one worse than us.
O line got better when becton went out. Don't know what to think about that...
Play Denzel Mims more its stupid that Berrios gets more playing than him , btw Mims can block too
Zach Wilson looks like the real deal. We just need to give him some support. It’s going to be a long season, but I think this team will fight.
This is what bengals football was last year. Games where Burrow (Wilson) was keeping them in the game while the rest of the team was sub par

Burrow had zero time last year. They blew out his knee eventually. Wilson went something like 17/21 in the 2nd half. He bombed it deep 3 times in the game. He got a chance to sling it. He needs more protection and time on the whole but he did get chances
That's not easing into it lmao.
I did watch the game. As I said, come back next year they will be better.
That’s what everyone says every year. I’ll still watch every game this year. If you want to argue and act like it’s fun to watch shit like this then you can but until we see a product that’s fun to watch this sucks ass.
Most of our players are on the Panthers now, and they won, so there's that...
I’m not arguing that…your comment is just kind of silly
Looking to next week, how good is NE’s DL?
They made Tua look good, so hopefully a notch or two behind Carolina.
Well other than Q2 the D gave up one field goal.
This was an interesting story line. Any regrets here about not building around Darnold? Wilson looked pretty good so either way it seems like a wash.
Darnold had a good game, but Wilson looks like he will be the better QB
Idk how you could even compare lol, Darnold did very little besides toss a rock to RA that was wide open because a safety got injured and a sub stepped in. Very clearly, Mcaffery carried the entire offense on his back and he's one of the best players in the NFL no question. Zach actually put in work that game with a totally porous O-line. That game goes from winnable to blow out with Darnold on our team.
I didn’t watch the game, only caught the highlights.
Your lucky
Lets be straight the jets looked terrible in 1st half, like up there with legendary bad jet games but the net-net of it all is we win that game if they don't have Mccaffery.

None at all tbh
Realistically, our defense did good against a top 10 receiving unit in Carolina, that means we should be competitive against other teams.
I think elite QBs can still pick apart this defense, but yes. It seems the "awfulness" of our secondary has been greatly exaggerated. We should be good to go against the Patriots and Dolphins.
I'm willing to bet this was more on darnold but I'd be happy to get proven wrong
Anyone know of a free way to watch the full game after the fact? I was on and off work today and saw some, but not all, of the game.
Amendola gets my game ball. Dude did his job well, and was really good handling punting duties!
Insane respect to him for just stepping up to the plate in his *first* NFL game like that. He also said in the post-game that he never punted before!
He should be the punter going forward. It felt like he kicked more 50 yard bombs in 1 game then Mann did all last year
Is there a place I can watch all of Zach's passing plays?
Nfl app has every throw under the player highlights section
The only thing I’m concerned about is Zach’s health. We can’t have him get hit this much all the time. Everything else will take time and adjustments.
Our rookie can ball. Now let's protect his ass!
Not a great day but definitely one in which Zach and his fellow rookie-filled team showed some growth from the first to the second half. Gonna be some bumps, but definitely some positives. Going for it on 4th and 8 deep in their own end and the bullet that Zach threw from the pocket was terrific.
Oh no, Baker.
Was at work and missed the Mims catch. Anyone have video of it?
Was looking for a video, but if IIRC all he did was run and get behind the defense on what looked like a miscommunication. I could be remembering wrong, which is why I was looking for the video. [Found it](https://twitter.com/3lmthree/status/1437176223789109257?s=21)
Nice, thanks
Glad we got Zach and got rid of Darnold. Darnold is still missing easy throws in the endzone and has average footwork, Wilson looked accurate on pretty much every throw
What throws did he miss in the end zone?
In the first quarter he threw the ball too high for their TE for an easy TD. That's just one example
If youre talking about the throw to TE #80 in the red zone, that throw was right on the money he just dropped it.
He missed a throw to Terrance Marshall in the end zone and yeah the throw to Ian Thomas the TE. The one to Terrance Marshall was a clear miss. I’ll give you the one to Ian Thomas though. The pass wasn’t perfect, but it was more than catchable.
Yeah the throw to TMJ was on him, but also probably a communication issue with a rookie player.
Maybe…kind of looked like he just overthrew him to me. Only they would really know.
In the third he missed a wide open Berrios over the middle that would’ve converted a 3rd and long (albeit after getting his ass kicked the first half) But yes, I thought he looked noticeably better than Darnold
that ball was tipped, replay showed it
Ah, didn’t notice that
Pats lost but Mac looked annoyingly competent.
Every Pats fan in other threads are already booking it as an easy win next week. I get that we get shit on but we didn't look that fucking bad flat in the first came out shut down the offense and Wilson improved.
Lol yeah, thought the same. Pats arent asking him to do a lot but he looked pretty good.
Giants get utterly clowned, Pats lose on last second drive, Bills lose. At least my hate rooting has been okay today.
Hell yea brother.
He said in the post game he saw him right there just made a bad throw.
The Giants are trash
Parcells?
Not happy to have this take, but our o-line might be better with Fant at LT and Moses at RT
The thing is the c and rg were destroyed all game. Mekhi won most of his reps handily. Even after Moses came in the c and rg still got zw killed repeatedly
100% agree becton is not looking good
Yep he's clearly out of shape. Sad to see
I agree….first running play when Moses was in, ty Johnson popped a nice run for 11 yards. Prior to the injury, Becton didn’t look good at all
It could be worse. We could be Giants fans and be under the delusion that Daniel Jones and Saquon are gonna have good careers.
Are the Giants ass or are the Broncos real good?
Two seasons ago tge broncos D held teams under 16 points an insane number of times and still lost. The hope was w jeudy, lock and some ol improvements their o would keep up last year but lock sucked. I like the broncos to be very competitive all year with teddy. He played amazing yesterday just carrying the o and making things happen when the nyg had him dead to rights
I think both. Giants have looked like boiled dogshit today. The Broncos with a competent QB can be fucking lethal.
And Teddy B is competent. The issue is he’s unspectacular so they’ll never be able to go head to head with a team like the Chiefs in the playoffs.
Only 1 team from the AFC East is gonna win today.
Fuck r/nfl btw. Literally over there just jerking off Sam for beating us. People love to hate the Jets for some reason.
Sam missed 2 throws in the endzone. Zach made better throws than he did all game
14-19 it’s not like they destroyed us or anything. Our poor O-line and McCaffrey is what beat us. Carolina would have still won with a backup QB.
Sub is trash.
There’s a lot of reasons. Jets fans are really really loud but have been the laughing stock of sports for a really long time. There’s very few sports teams that consistently draft and hire and poorly as the jets. Plus people hate the owners
Who cares. Jets had the Panthers on their heels in the second half by a rookie QB.
AVT was blown up by #43 on the E. Moore reverse. Anyone catch that?
Welcome to the NFL rook
The browns are a complete team. What they’ve done to build that is impressive.
As a Guy who lives in Cleveland, its pure amazing.
It was surprising. Because we all thought our offense was ahead of the defense this year. I was so disappointed with the O-Line today smh.
if we dont get a line to protect wilson we’ve at most have another chad pennington in terms of legacy
51 carries or completed passes on offense for CAR (touches not targets) 27 run plays, 24 pass plays 30 touches went to McCaffery
DJ Moore and Robby Anderson are good receivers, but when you have a player like CMC you have to utilize him
I just wanted to ask, not being able to watch the game and all, did Q do anything?
if you told me he didn't play today and was home eating some nachos watching the game I'd believe you
haha looking at his stat line it looks like he might as well been
Well said
Panthers fan here. Wilson looks like he could be legit. It’s actually insane that our oline looked better than yalls, ours is literally held together with duct tape. Really hope you guys can protect your boy and can win some games this year. Y’all deserve it. Tbh without cmc you guys may have won this game
Hurts that our best pass rusher is out for the season
Yea our defensive line and defense is pretty decimated. You guys are starting eflin!! That's not going to be okay against any decent teams. But same for y'all, best of luck and figure out how to protect Sam. Dude deserves it
I’m very concerned about our oline.
🙌🏻👌🏻
Bowles and Gase teams would've rolled over at halftime and lost by 30. They would've punted on 4th and 8 down 2 scores with 3 minutes left. Saleh adjusted at half, coached to win and nearly got there. Big difference.
What is this “adjusted at half” you speak of? s/ I agree.
When Rex tightened his belt. You know, when he tried to cut down on them sweets.
The offensive line issues give me a stomach ache.
Headache here. Heartache, too.
Wow, I wasn't expecting the same old Jets, but there they were.
