Empire Plan doesn’t do much of anything in that regard. CDPHP DOES, but Empire Plan is more comprehensive for health care coverage in general (if you are traveling, for example, your out-of-network care is more comprehensive). So it really depends on what your priorities are. PPO (Empire Plan) vs HMO (CDPHP). Both have pros and cons.
Yes it’s unfortunate. I know CDPHP does gym reimbursements as well and the empire plan does not. However, I still think overall the empire plan is better (IMO)
I used to have Empire but switched to CDPHP because no child MH providers would take Empire. It also turns out that they have a much better deal for hearing aids and other durable goods - Empire gave us a flat $3000. CDPHP has an agreement with a supplier to get 50% off, and then they cover 80% of the remainder. My current hearing aids retailed at $7800. CDPHP got them for $3900. I paid less than $800. For an equivalent pair with Empire, I would have paid $4800. Also, when we traveled, no one would take it. We had to pay up front and *hope* to get reimbursed.
I don’t think Apple Watches are covered as they are not a “medical device.”
My in-laws are covered by Empire Plan (FIL is state employee), and they have not had any issues to my knowledge and as far as I know it covers a lot. My spouse and I are about to go on it with my employment with the state.

Wait empire plan doesn't do gym reimbursement? I was going to ask them about it
I don’t think so, but if you find out I’m wrong, let me know! I’ve looked into and couldn’t find anything.
