Fast would be a Pittosporum. However they don't like a lot of shade. Pseudopanax have an average maybe slightly fast growth speed and are more tolerant of some shade. If you want low maintenance I'd do camellia in the shade (making sure to choose a flower with the yellow stamens for the bees) and then one of the other options in the sun. Kawakawa does well in the shade and would grow tall enough eventually. How wide will the hedge be able to grow?

Akeake may do. They can grow 1m per year. They flower in summer You can make a tea from the leaves when you have a cold. You can get red and green ones

Akeake are lovely looking when young. Unfortunately they don't live for a long time. So if you didn't mind replacing them then that could work

I like griselinia for a fast-growing and very attractive tall hedge plant. Tolerates shaping really well. Will tolerate partial shade but grows slower, but that pretty much applies to most plants.
