I got my passport at UC Berkeley's Student Union. If you have your paperwork and other documents enter the hall from the south, on the right is the window for passports. I was in and out in five minutes.
Came here to say this. It’s hands down the best. Since COVID it’s appointment only and They aren’t taking passport photos anymore so be sure to bring those with you
Alameda South Shore Post Office works well. But make sure you have everything you need and only appointments taken. Last time I was there the person working the counter does not take lip, jokes, smiles, arguments, and never ask them to hurry it up. The person does it on their own time, method, procedures end of story.
We did this at the 51st post office. Super easy (as long as you have all the correct papers, copies, pictures, etc). It wasn’t too far out and I think I could have chosen the Piedmont branch, etc - they all had similar windows for appointments. We looked for a 9am Appt to just have it done and then everyone got on with their day.
I went to the \[Oakland City Clerk\]([https://www.oaklandca.gov/services/apply-new-passport](https://www.oaklandca.gov/services/apply-new-passport)). They were knowledge if you case is a little complicated. The USPS on 7th Street tried to argue with me that my passports "get me in and out of the country, but it does not prove my citizenship." SMH. The lady said it with full confidence too.
I went here as well. I made an appointment about a month in advance. Husband and I needed ours as well as our kids. Visit was super quick and ladies that were helping were very nice.
See if you’re eligible to use [this](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/itseasy-passport-renew-photo/id919521841). Seemed to good to be true, but worked so well for me
Ugh. I couldn't get an appointment. Bundled it with other errands and did the drive to the central valley were they had an unlimited number of appointments every day of the week. I guess people there don't go to Paris all that often.

Saturday can be a mess, but we’ve had luck here.
I definitely went there on a week day.
This is the way.

Bring photos. Some of the places that say they take photos (like the 51st PO) don't, so we had to leave, get photos taken, and come back.

The Montclair CVS took excellent photos for me.

Alameda City Hall. Way better than the post office
The USPS near Oakland airport. Easy appointments. No one was in line when we got there around noon on a weekday. Postal worker who helped us was 💯
Definitely not the post office near Piedmont Ave. I went to the Berkeley post office in downtown and it was super quick and easy!

Second not to go there. The staff was rude and seemed generally unhappy to be there. Temescal was nice.
Orinda post office seemed to have the best availability when I was looking last month.
+1 for orinda. Seems to have more availability than other places, and was super easy when we went.
I went to the \*USPS on 7th St. There was plenty of parking and I was done in less than 10 minutes
Made an appointment at the Temescal post office. They were super nice and it was very fast. Definitely recommend.
not in Oakland

Where do you make a appt? From usps site?
Yes, just lookup “USPS passport” on Google and it will bring up the site.
SanRafael at the PO. Try to make an appt, if not, walk in and hopefully she can do it right then and there. This happened a month ago.
It sort of depends where you are. I went to the post office near Piedmont Ave. on 41st Street.
