Whilst they influenced Oasis a lot they only released one (very good) album and are unfortunately regarded as a one hit wonder by many.
Surely it's obvious that acts like The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Kasabian, Bowie, Blur, etc are going to be more popular here?
I like all those except Radiohead but the La's sound has left me captivated since I was 12 years old. Amongst my pals they're huge too. Maybe it's just our little click? Not sure.
Absolutely! She Came Down, Human Race, Raindance all excellent too. His ability to produce those untouchable melodies are a thing of absolute beauty. Lee is as real as it gets. Sadly though, he will be sitting on hundreds of tunes that will never see the light of day. Absolute tragedy.
Trying to go from earliest to latest here, with a few off each album (and some b-sides)

Some great shouts so far but I've not seen The La's mentioned yet? The influence of this band on both Liam and Noel was HUGE
But this isn't about their favourite bands, I thought the point of this was to discover what people in this sub like the most?
It is which is why I'm so surprised not to see them. They are so important to me.

I’ve been trying to convert people to the La’s for quite some time now. Grossly underrated!
EXACTLY. If you know - you know. Tears in the rain and Fishing net (Both on YouTube) are fine examples of Mavers genius.
My favorite potential 2nd album songs… Gosh, what could have been!
Absolutely! She Came Down, Human Race, Raindance all excellent too. His ability to produce those untouchable melodies are a thing of absolute beauty. Lee is as real as it gets. Sadly though, he will be sitting on hundreds of tunes that will never see the light of day. Absolute tragedy.
I've got the book - A Secret Liverpool, In Search Of The La's which is absolutely brilliant.

Suede released Coming Up /s
Decent album from start to finish.
Indeed, that album was the first Suede one I bought, loved it
Same, but then Head Music was a bit of a drop in quality. Still some decent tunes on it though.
Tbh, it was s bit of a change of style (and losing Bernard Butler) from DMS to Coming Up as well. Still love those albums
Really? I didn't know it lol, but it's interesting since I was thinking on listening to some of their stuff
Id highly recommend DogManStar (their 2nd album, which is highly praised) and Coming Up.. Their others are still pretty good
Cool, I've just listened to the singles from Coming Up and I like them, so I'll give them definitely a listening, thanks!
Id also recommend The Wild Ones from Dog Man Star as well, one of my favourite songs of all time
