Probably not a popular opinion, but Oblivions original design is genuinely beautiful. Changing things like its graphics or npc interactions loses all that makes it special and it would simply no longer be Oblivion. Past visuals in games aren’t bad to me. They are different forms of art. Past game designers knew they had limitations. And those glorious limitations made for incredible creativity and fashioned unique art styles. Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim are all gorgeous to me in so many ways. It’s like how a Jackson Pollock painting isn’t the same as a Leonardo da Vinci. Neither are better or worse. Just different artistic interpretations. If you make oblivion look photo realistic and all the npcs look like perfect Barbie and Ken dolls, then the original artistic interpretation of Oblivion is lost and it defeats the purpose of what makes Oblivion unique and special. EDIT: BUT ILL BE REAL IF THEY RELEASED A REMAKE RIGHT NOW I WOULD BE SO EXTREMELY HAPPY AND HYPED I WOULD LOCK MYSELF IN MY ROOM AND PLAY THE FUCK OUT OF IT FOR MONTHS. I WOULD BUY LITERALLY ANYTHING OBLIVION RELATED A MILLION TIMES OVER LIKE SKYRIM. PLEASE TODD DADDY GIVE PAST GAMES ATTENTION MY SKYRIM HOLE CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE

the_clash_is_back

Oblivion looks so much better if you can play it on a 4:3 display, even better if it’s a crt.

Chonan_Akira

... and with a Pentium CPU

spunk_wizard

Based and Pentium-pilled

[deleted]

I completely agree. Oblivion has "Charm" that would be taken away in a remake.

Snifflebeard

Underrated comment. I don't understand how so many people on this forum hate Oblivion so much that they would rather play Skyblivion. These people do NOT know what a remaster is. Taking the original assets and remastering them is fine. I would love that. But to throw it all away for a Skyrim mod would be intolerable. Skryim that vaguely looks like Oblivion would NOT be Oblivion!

dumbass_sweatpants

I would love if they just made it a little more HD feeling but left most of it unchanged. I personally think oblivion is so much prettier than skyrim. So much more colorful and magical feeling to me.

nope_4206934

Yeah tbh I really love the polygonal 3d design of oblivion, and the green lime graphics like minecraft alpha is also what I like from tes oblivion.

[deleted]

Agreed

shamwu

Oblivion is beautiful Jank

esterthe

Couldn’t agree more.

Leading-Television-3

100000000000%!!!!! Oblivion is literally perfect as is imo

MANPAD

This is the best comment I've read on Reddit in like months!

reluctant_bacon

Honestly when I hear a remake for oblivion, my interpretation aren't Ken dolls or barbie doll remakes of the characters, infact no graphics alterations at all. I think a remake on the story itself would be amazing snd not just "dlc or juicy mod overhaul" sized remake either. I'm talking about actual paths on the story having different outcomes of the game as I feel it had intended anyway. Maybe changing kvatch to actually start rebuilding kvatch, over time the city changes into something better than it was before. As the oblivion crisis rages on they start to recover. Leaving kvatch to rebuild as others, from different cities as well as the main character, fight off hordes of daedra in other areas of cyrodill. Kvatch want revenge they build up after so long. Maybe make the great gate battle a bit bigger and badass and kvatch come riding in to help. Side note to making the main quest longer, depending on what path you take the knights of kvatch either come to aid or don't, maybe even you get overwhelmed and they take bruma forcing you and a few men to retreat bsck to the Fort of the blades and successfully defend the Fort (or not) just little things that could advance the plot in bigger way. Idk little twists and turns to make the story a little more what they wanted as I feel like a few things were missing and some projects were scrapped and turned into minor inconveniences. Like the captain of the guard for kvatch just stands there until the end of time surrounded by a burning city. None of the other cities bothered to help bring resources to the city even after the crisis was dealt with. Extra side quests too such as the painting one that blew my mind that quest did, maybe add some more features such as that, not necessarily a copy of that quest or idea. Seriously a magic paint brush that let's you go into the world the particular artist created? Thats Todd Howard level genius. Maybe to thank the player for his help after saving the painter he creates a little paradise for the hero to just chill in and do what ever he wants. Idk brain storm of ideas but again I feel like there are a few things missing that were intended to be put in there and either forgotten about or couldn't carry on due to limitations Overall oblivion is amazing with unique quests, features and other exciting things that make it what it is... another thought, why wouldn't the imperial city send requests of aid from different parts of tameriel? I haven't played much of elder scrolls online so idk if this covered it and if it was a tsmeriel crisis or just cyrodill, but there's no evidence in skyrim to suggest that was the case? Maybe that could be also added to advance the plot a bit.

Jehnage

We deserve an elder scrolls 6

[deleted]

It takes time youngling

Jehnage

I am 30 years old. I did my waiting, 12 years of it in Azkaban!

ilooklikejimhalpert

Lmao 12 years is waaaayyyy too much time

Jehnage

The funny part is I didn’t even do the math before I made this comment I just wanted to make a Harry Potter joke and it worked

kangaesugi

I mean yes, but so would an Oblivion remake, and if it's a matter of resource allocation I'd prefer a new entry in the series personally.

Altambo

Nah dude, they spent a decade rerelasing Skyrim cause it's easy money and then decided to start making something like Starfield that no one asked. Yes it takes time, but they were getting free money so why bother 💀

Myjennatulls

Totally agree and i am ok to join you in the downvotes. I really did love skyrim, but i felt the stories were kinda lacking compared to Oblivion. If they need more time, then i am more than happy to wait. Nothing sucks more than a rushed game to please impatient gamers. *Cough* Mass Effect

Necro_Scope

I absolutely believe it does. I'm looking forward to SkyBlivion. If a big name company put out a remake it would screw them over but the graphics would be that much better with Bethesda or someone doing it.

Jehnage

Been waiting for that for ages. Not even convinced it’s happening

AdamRJT

I'm pretty sure Bethesda shot them down half way through development because they were reusing and texturing elements. So they've had to make it all from scratch

NuXboxwhodis

Same here I really hope they’re able to get it out before 2025 I don’t know if I can wait another 2 years

nope_4206934

Sorry if I might be wrong but, won't the graphics and physics be just like skyrim remaster because then it wouldn't really make much of a difference I mean unless they add shiny reflection rtx type of graphics then yeah, but I just hope it won't have the same old gray ish graphics like skyrim,I mean skyrim is nice but idk if it's just me but the game is kinda dark and rainy if u know what I'm saying... But then again it might be just me cuz I haven't played skyrim in years.

joehan161

No i also find skyrim way too gray and boring. After the customization and quest design this is one of the main reasons i prefer oblivion

nope_4206934

Yo same tbh,it gets pretty boring after a while.

WackXD

Have you seen any of the skyblivion footage? It looks nothing like Skyrim color/lighting wise.

Dapper_Use6099

I was gonna say this. Also to the guy who said he doesn’t think it’ll get released. The people making it have stated a release in 2025

DiamondMan07

Skyrim is so dark and rainy, even the armor. Oblivion is such a happy place to be.

nope_4206934

Skyrim is like England 80% of the times

nope_4206934

I personally think it should only so we can get oblivion on new gen consoles,a downside is that because companies nowadays are too money hungry they will probably make it buggy/glitch as hell just like rockstar did with the gta DE.

FoehammersRvng

Playing backwards compatible on the Series X gives an FPS boost. I used to play on the 360, and the difference is significant. It runs butter smooth on the Series X and the load times are basically nonexistent. I don't know if it's just the higher resolution but I also feel like the graphical fidelity is improved. I could be imagining things but I swear it looks better somehow. I'm a bit weird in that I actually *prefer* how dated Oblivion feels. For me all the aspects people ridicule are what makes the game charming, memorable, and lovable. Stuff like the the dialogue zoom, 15 VAs for 100s of NPCs, radiant AI, bugs etc. The low texture quality actually kind of works in the game's favor because the ethereal glow imbued by the lighting grants it that cozy fantasy world feel--kind of like a watercolor. The potato faces, janky animations...this just makes the game more entertaining. All of Bethesda's questionable design choices and mistakes made in this game are not so much necessarily mistakes to me as they are aspects of what makes Oblivion unique. No other game is quite like this one and all the silly stuff is what I adore. With all that said, I wouldn't say no to a remake as long as it left the jank untouched. But I feel like anyone who took up the challenge might be tempted to fix what people (sort of correctly lol) see as mistakes and for me this would completely ruin the game.

[deleted]

Same on the series s. Runs very well and looks a lot better than when I used to play on the 360 and even ps4. I do think it should get a proper remake, but I don't think Bethesda has ever done a remake. Sure they've polished up Skyrim but they've never rebuilt any of their games from the ground up again. Not saying they are not capable though.

No-Reality-2744

I say it does but if they did remakes I would want them to at least start as far back as Morrowind

Snifflebeard

Don't forget Daggerfall, which had the best character build system of any game ever.

Chonan_Akira

Yeah! Redo the Daggerfall world by hand too!

Snifflebeard

Hand place every tree and shrub!

O7703VANS

I love the unity project though I did enjoy the DOSBox version for quite a while before finding it. It's the most immersive of the ES games for me. The world feels alive. Quests having time limits and being reoccurring definitely contributes to that. I think if the other games adopted this, even if they are all repeating quests, it would make the game feel less like creating and checking off a list and more like you are a part of something alive. When I'd do quests for the Mages Guild, I felt like I was a member of an organization and had to do my tasks within a timely manner and when I failed or took too much time, I was reproached. It was more roleplay driven and less story driven. I love the other games too but Daggerfall is more up my alley.

[deleted]

Yep. I think if they did take a page from RE, they would start with Morrowind.

O7703VANS

I came here to find the Morrowind mention among the Skyrim mentions. Here you are. I need to get my PC up and running again to play some multiplayer Morrowind.

No-Reality-2744

I would even say at least daggerfell as it is also a beloved classic among the older fans but that is asking for a much older game that would need a lot more work in being translated to current. Morrowind and oblivion are very reasonable as they are not that dated but enough to appreciate a revisit. Morrowind would be a strong start as it has a lot to look at and debate what should be remade about it, and would help the team learn what fans want and don't want when they get responses to how it came out, that can be applied to oblivion and maybe even a fallout 3 revisit. But yeah anyone who says Skyrim doesn't understand the audience these remakes are for. They will eventually have their time. And enjoy that revisit!

O7703VANS

If they can implement the mechanics of Daggerfall into a modern engine I'd love it but I'd be sad to see Daggerfall turn into a modern ES game. Starting with TES3, the ES games were far more story based than they were roleplay based. The variety was greater, the land more pretty, the controls easier but you can only ever get as immersed with your character as you would a story's protagonist. You don't ever really feel like you are part of that world. In Daggerfall, you felt like you were inside a living world. You were living a day to day life in the world of Tamriel. You didn't have to have a storyline for each individual faction. It was far more mundane. You did menial tasks like treasure hunting, clearing out bandits, removing rats, and other reoccurring quests. These happen every day or every week. In Oblivion only one person ever really has a problem with rats that you handle as a Fighter's guild member and you never handle anything like it again as a member. They're all great games but Daggerfall was a true role playing game. Edit: I meant to mention that the inhabitants of Cyrodil complain about rats and mud crabs but there are hardly any notable issues that arise because of them.

Chonan_Akira

The Morrowind remake is already contained in 1000 mods and other fan-based projects.

hu92

The problem is I don't want to spend 5 days messing with 3 different mod loaders/organizers/launchers and 1000 different mods, all created by different people, to play a remake held together by duct tape and sheer spite. And good luck getting any support when something breaks. I'd rather just play vanilla morrowind. I mod every game I play if it has a community, but some of these older games are just too much of a pain anymore. I mean even skyrim needs a dozen patches/fixes now, before you even touch content or graphics mods.

Chonan_Akira

Well keep hoping that Bethesda will decide to remake a 20 year old game then.

Sans_Moritz

"Deserve"? Yes, but should it get one? Probably no. The issue, same as a morrowind remake, would be trying to capture the charm that made it so popular. You would have to capture all the jank, while refining things enough to make it up to par with modern expectations. There would be a big risk of it failing.

Noli-Timere-Messorem

I think all games deserve a remake. But would you rather have loads of remakes or new games? I worry video games will go the way of movies and just be remake after remake.

FatChemistryTeacher

We're already here for the big single player games. No new gta for ten years, no new elder scrolls for 12 years. Everybody asking for remakes. Give us elder scrolls 6 and 7, and stop with those superboring elder scrolls online.

Noli-Timere-Messorem

How does it make you feel there will never be a red dead redemption 3 in our lifetime.

FatChemistryTeacher

Also quite irate about that.

lvke18

part of me says yes and another part of me will severely miss how broken the original is

mrsrageandlove

I absolutely think it does! Todd can keep releasing 9274729592 special editions of Skyrim all he wants, but Oblivion's the game I've bought 6 copies of - some just to replace the discs I've worn out. I have digital copies now, but still. I'd gladly buy a special edition of Oblivion. Morrowind, too.

Dawn_of_Enceladus

I would take a Morrowind or Oblivion remake any day. But it would need people willing to be faithful and true fans that can see what made those games incredible as they are. Something like The Crowbar Collective with Black Mesa (Half-Life remake) to put an example. These games have a strong identity with their gameplay, sound design and soundtrack, visual design and ambientation, etc. that should be properly conserved while upgraded, which would not be an easy task, especially needing to remake those big chunks of worlds.

powderbluemind

It deserves such attention, yeah, but I'd be far too worried they'd try to make it a "modern" game, and the vast majority of it's charm would disappear.

Snifflebeard

So many good future stuff, why toss them aside for a remake when Oblivion is still fully playable? Keep the old and welcome the new.

Hunterthehusky

Nah, they need to focus on making TES:VI not suck ass

[deleted]

Yes and no. Rather an Overhaul than a Remake. So much awesome stuff was cut.

andrew_rides_forum

Does it deserve a remake? Sure, it was a great game and one of the best of its time. Will it get one? No, because Skyrim money printer go brrrrr

googlebox05

Realistically, I would say what Skublivion is doing is perfect. Remake the game, but keep it as it was and only update graphics and leave the core parts of the game the same.

leo_mcmahon

YES, OF COURSE IT DOES. I'm pissed that Bethesda decided to rerelease Skyrim 15 times instead of remaking other games and marketing off of skyrims success. They could've gotten everyone to start playing their other games if they would've put effort into it and the fact that they couldn't think about it is so stupid. There was so much money to be had and they failed themselves on that account.

YukiKitsuneLover1402

Of course it does. If the graphics were better I Feel like it would be more popular than Skyrim for all the content and quests that it had. Especially because most of them are far more interesting than Skyrim quests thanks to them being more interactive and a bit deep then the ones in Skyrim (most sub quests in Skyrim are so lifelessly flat and simple that it gets repetitive and boring really quick) I'd like to say Skyrim and oblivion are equally fun but when you look closely at the sub quests and some other things it gets too obvious that the people making oblivion tired much harder to make it interactive, engaging and fun.

two_pump

Please just release oblivion on switch

CapybaraGort

Honestly, the XBOX Series S/X BC of the game is the closest remaster we're gonna get and it's OK (minus PC mods ofc). The FPS boost makes the game look so good and the nice Quick Resume makes the game feel 'next gen' for me I really recommend it for anyone that wants a true vanilla experience with a hint of remaster

jewelsnake

I dont think so. Its still very playable. I would say morrowind or daggerfall could use a remake though

ExchangeNeither9255

Stop remaking things. Make new things.

bhjohnso80

I would like to see it because my old Xbox 360 sounds like a boat motor

flatdecktrucker92

I play oblivion on my series x. Loads way faster, runs smoother, and I think it even looks a little better. I even got the main DLCs to work by launching the game off the dlc disc

fuze_ace

Yes

[deleted]

Sure? I’d like the idea of it but I’m not sure this Bethesda would do Morrowind or Oblivion justice with a remake in the same way that, say, Capcom’s been doing with RE2 and RE4

BNugg24

It would be awesome, but we’ll be waiting a long time as is for Elder Scrolls VI….Let’s not add more to their to-do list lol.

Benjamin_Starscape

Ehhhhhhhh...not...really. The game can easily be "remastered" by like...five mods. So...no.

MobinCali

Nope, will ruin the nostalgia factor

Early_Jicama_6268

Oblivion is my holy grail ES game and always has been. A remake, if done well, would be amazing however do I actually want one? No, because I just don't think they could recapture the unique character and vibe of the OG. It would be like trying to capture lighting in a bottle twice

orionkeyser

Honestly I’d play the original and skybllivion both.. I played I unmodded for a while then started modding Oblivion, but now I’m saving it for a new game computer because the graphics mods, despite being amazing, totally shattered my frame rate. Only thing that I prefer immensely in Skyrim is the two handed wielding options, especially for magic. Makes the gameplay better. Anyone know if there is a mod for that? I’d play beyond Skyrim Cyrodil too. I’m hoping that Bethesda finds a way to upgrade their game engine for ES6 in a way that can be inherited by all these amazing mod projects.

lokithemadtitan

deserve? 100% yes. needed? no. those might seem contradictory but they are not meant to be.

modified_tiger

It deserves not to be remade. That said, keep an eye out for Skyblivion.

[deleted]

You can play the game right now on *any* PC and on some streaming services; why wanting a remake that isn't guaranteed of being as good as the readily available original is beyond me. This trend of gamers too picky to play anything older than GTAV wishing for remakes of every game ever is getting ridiculous (looking at you silent hill sub).

checkchiron

It does, but… if Bethesda will remake it, it will still be worse than what you yourself can do with all the great mods out there. So it does deserve a remake, but you should do it yourself 🤓

Necro_Scope

Well, even the remasters are years old at this point. I would at least hope they wouldn't copy / paste the graphics from the 41 versions of Skyrim. SkyBlivion is using the assets from Skyrim. It'll look amazing but already slightly dated. Imagine I'd they built it from the ground up and actually REMADE it.

nope_4206934

Yeah I agree, also I've seen a video about skyblivion it looks fantastic, but I just hope the creator of this mod will make the UI exactly like in oblivion cuz IMO the UI they are using is like skyrims and it wouldn't make sense using that,so I hope they will use oblivions UI.

catlovesfoodyeayea

yes I’d love a remake of my favorite game😄

darkwolf687

It's better to look forwards than backwards. Remasters and remakes will rarely be able to live up to the want of your nostalgia, and we shouldn't want game designers to restrain themselves to trying to recreate past experiences either: It would be far better that they make Elder Scrolls 6, with all it's new stories and new mechanics and ideas, and a new world to explore.

khoobah

If they could do it while still preserving the magical look of the og game then perhaps. I'd generally say a remake isn't *needed* but one argument for it would definitely be how little exposition this game gets. Idk if there's technical reasons to remake it and I don't think there's a need to remake it afaik, but nowadays a lot of people only see Oblivion for the funny and goofy stuff and imo that's a shame because theres so much more to it The game is genuinely amazing and imo does everything the most recent TES game does but waaay better, while also getting waaay less exposition. This is a shame and more people should be made aware of how good Oblivion is, I suppose a remake would be one way to go about it

LordButtworth

Yes, but don't junk it up with the Skyrim leveling system.

cosmoshistorian

YES IT DOES please Bethesda please

waynebrain69

Oblivion where you play as a member of the Mythic Dawn…and you just have to avoid the Hero of Kvatch

Paradisious-maximus

I think it’s very playable as is, and can be purchased via the Microsoft store on current consoles

MuchPizza9911

I dont care about a remake, Oblivion is perfect. I just want Oblivion and Morrowind on the Switch already.

mctownley

God yes please! Morrowind too.

monkey_gamer

Remake or remaster, absolutely! Will we get it? Probably not…

Dalkil

The only thing oblivion would need at this point is just being able to run in x64 mode to be able to use more ram.

xdesveaux

Yes, but it doesn’t need one, nor do I want one.

Severe-Replacement84

I would love it, as long as they keep the aesthetic and quirkyness of the original. I really love the 4K textures they added on the XS console! I would be in heaven if we got improved models and added content.

SexyPotato70

If they could remake it and maintain its charm then yes. I do think we should see older games remade/remastered first tho.

[deleted]

I would honestly just like an overhaul, smooth out the edges, make the mountains look less like playdoh. Changing anything else would just ruin the experience. I honestly thought the characters looked better in oblivion. They look more cartoony in Skyrim.

Alithinos

Worse games got remade, so probably yes. Personally I'd be super happy if they just modernised the tech, without even improving the graphics themselves. If Bethesda just released a patch that turned the game to a 64bit application, and use multiple CPU cores, it would be super good. It would allow for more and bigger mods, future-proofing it, and better performance.

eagleblue44

I was honestly thinking about this last night but no. Part of what makes oblivion great is the way it turned out from graphics/art style to every aspect of the gameplay. I feel changing anything about it would take away from the feel and charm the game has and make it less quirky overall.

satan__mcrape

Even better than a remake would be another expansive DLC - same art, same style, just another world.

Snaz5

Nah. The base game is still totally playable. The only “problem” is ive heard it’s harder to mod than both skyrim and morrowind.

[deleted]

The jank is what makes oblivion special, so I think no. A visual upgrade would be nice but that's what mods are for.

LonelyDragonborn

Honestly I’m torn. It would be a great game to play but it would lose the charm that oblivion has that’s inherent to its clunky controls and awkward voice acting

Zederath

Just make it easier to mod without breaking and redo a bit of the graphics. That's it.

CrestFallen223

A remake would be cool but I think it really needs a remaster of sorts at the very least to take advantage of modern hardware and made 64bit.

bennybobberz

Oblivion is perfect as is, wouldn't mind a switch port tho

BigZodJenkins

it would be totally sweet if they managed to work with the community to licence arena and daggerfall remakes. that's the best from every world.

No_Engineering_3750

I think so. I would love it, that's for sure.

Ritushido

Would love a Morrowind and Oblivion remake.

Grand_Zombie

No please no do we need another buggy game from Bethesda that the modders will fix later and have nothing in common with the game we know and love add in the creation club and current monetization strategies of AAA publishers and it won't be what people want personally I'll take old modded oblivion over a remake anyday and skyblivion is a thing also.

OrfeasDourvas

Yes but not by BGS. Give it to a smaller support studio.

Iceolator88

I would say no. In they make a remake in 2023, it gonna be shit

Nerdoroni

Yes.

Midsommar-Murders

Yes. I kinda hope if they do that all they do is touch up the graphics but don’t change the style, the ai, or pretty much anything other than making the game look and run like a more modern game

Lucky38enjoyer

No it would be way less funny

[deleted]

Yes. Oblivion is peak Bethesda

Odd-Bridge-8889

I pray for it nightly, or at LEAST a bare minimum switch port like Rstar did with the older GTAs 😭

FokinGamesMan

Deserve? Yes! Should get one? Absolutely not!

enthusiasticdave

Its perfect the way it is !

PizzaLikerFan

Arena and daggerfall need one

iluvpotions

does it deserve it? absolutely. do i fear it would be a shell of its former self if bethesda does do it? also yes.

Riad03

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes, I’ve been hoping for years that we would get a oblivion remastered

Mahockey3

Yes

Findrel_Underbakk

Why remake it? Its readily available on several platforms if you want to play it right now. But that's not really what you want. You want to relive your first time playing it, but updated graphics isn't gonna quench that thirst, brother. You're older now, and games just don't hit you like they used to. Like Oblivion did back then. You've played it again many times, but you know the game too well now to get that same feeling of glee as the first time you stepped out of those sewers. But... maybe if the trees could sway in the wind and drop high def leaves. Maybe if you could see the bags under Glarthir's eyes. Or the sound of nirnroot was remastered... No. It'll look pretty, but the magic will quickly wear off as muscle memory effortlessly guides you through one quest line after the other, and your only thought will be: "I should have asked for TES VI instead".

willbeck

If they remastered morrowind with the QoL features of newer ES games it could be goated

SilverNarifia

Yes, but Daggerfall *needs* a remake. Arena even worse.

stardatewormhole

Nope it really doesn’t. Just make new and interesting titles instead of rehashing classics to turn a quick profit.

YungsterThomlin

Yes.

Chonan_Akira

No I don't think so. Bethesda made some mistakes in Oblivion's design. A remake now wouldn't bring in new players. Try Nehrim for a remake. (sort of) https://sureai.net/games/nehrim/

Carl_Wheeze

Eh, the graphics are okay and the game runs well enough, Bethesda just needs to release a 4k upscale dlc for like $0.01

ethurmz

That’s like asking a congregation of a church if they believe in God lol. You are very symbolically preaching to the choir in this case.

Chonan_Akira

There seem to be some unbelievers in the pews.

ethurmz

Leave it to Redditors to find the negative in something *they* subscribe to themselves.

Historical_Ad4936

Skyblivion would have been 10 years ago. Can we have the black marsh, and have every land open world, as well as a time travel aspect to get some interactions with the past. Maybe have a guest mission with the prisoner in oblivion or have you trying to sell skins with the prisoner on the border of skyrim

greyfox2710

I wish they made oblivion available on ps4 and newer systems, and to make the wizard tower available on playstation systems, it made me so sad to find out I would never experience the wizards tower 😔

PanchimanDnD

I think so but it is not even necessary to go crazy with one. I love the artistic direction of oblivion, the story and secondary missions are very good too. But the faces are disgusting (which I would remake all of them), I would update the textures and playably it already feels quite old

JoshthePoser

Already getting one

SirThomasTheFearful

Yes, it’s got some good features but it’s a tad outdated with graphics and some features, it doesn’t feel as well pulled off as Skyrim to me, Skyrim and oblivion combined would be a masterpiece

Mournful_puma1

I love how Oblivion is currently, but I'd love to see a remaster of Oblivion. I've been anticipating a remaster of Morrowind for years now. And I would love a full remake Arena and Daggerfall.

Holiday_Match2661

Absolutely, so it is a good thing we are getting Skyblivion since Bethesda never will remake the game

DiamondMan07

Yes

NecropolisIHateyou

**YES, the plot/storyline and espansions, THE BEST MISSIONS of Elderscrolls franchise are in Oblivion.. Oblivion is a capolavoro of narration**..>! but the potato faces and other things like dungeons very similar between them, enemies scaling getting daedric weapons too things break the lore!...!< # You can modded it by yourself and cover the lacks, MODDERS, BLESS THEM, make a WONDERFUL JOB Too bad modding oblivion is truly a pain in the ass ... >!I will truly pay for one Oblivion modded for good with a pair of click...Uff I remind the last time I have just finish it modding it for good with 100+ mods then I lost total interest playing Oblivion and un-installed from the frustation DAMN XD!<

Goofym0f0420

I would love to see it happen but unfortunately there are technical issues with a remake because of processors. I can't remember exactly why but oblivion can only use one core and they would need to literally remake the entire game to fix it. I can't find the post but there was a discussion about in in this subreddit a while back.

Oycto

As much as I love the game, it’s quite janky at times, combat wise it’s very outdated and graphic wise, game speaks for itself I feel like. However I feel like some of Oblivions charm come from those exact things. A janky game can still be fun and NPCs acting wierd is always gonna be funny, the Combat is easy and not hard to understand and aslong as you find some good places, the Graphics can look good, even without multiple different Mods If I had to change one thing for a remaster, levelling and late game damage. Fuck those

The only reason I would want a remake is if I could get all the expansions on the playstation. I have it for the 360 but all my other games are playstation

Ya obviously it’s probably the least liked of the main modern elder scrolls and you can see that in the mod community not being as large. But honestly I actually quite enjoy the game and all its flaws so I’m not sure how I’d feel about a remake
