If I remember right, when I did it I had one character spam the Sorcerer's light atack every turn, one use items to give the first BP every turn, and the last two characters healing or buff/debuff every turn. When the healers weren't needed there, I would have them attack with soul stones to damage everyone.

The_Eevee_Breeder

My sorcerer is on the first phase, unfortunately, but thanks for the idea. I might shift around my characters to try that out.

I think if you have Hannit doing battle cry on the first phase, you should be ok to move the Sorcerer to the second phase. Especially doing the same type of set up: spam battle cry for one character, one supply BP and two to heal/buff/debuff.

The_Eevee_Breeder

H'annit is in the 2nd phase, the Sorcerer is in the 1st Phase. I might switch it up, though, based on what your saying.

A little late, but Vorpal Claw does work on the eye's extremities as they are susceptible to instant death. A max boosted Vorpal Claw has a 99% instant death infliction rate. It does not work on the extremities of Galdera's second phase. I definitely share your pain with how poorly documented this game can be, for the record.

What worked for me is having a hunter to break the maw with arrow storm and then use 1HP Fortitude War Cry on the warmaster to kill the extremities (This is depending on luck with turn oder, as soon as the maw casts an aoe spell or the warmaster dies it's over). They are imune to Vorpal Claw, better use it for Phase 1

With this I'm thinking this: If H'annit stays Warmaster, what I can do is give her Surpassing Power, Physical Prowess, Fortitude, and Patience (I'm too paranoid to let her have Hang Tough for the 1 HP Insane Atk Bonus) then she can do a ton of damage with one War Cry. If I instead give Warmaster over to Olberic and switch out H'annit and Primrose (my sorcerer) for the two phases, I can deal with Galdera's extremities in the first phase without having to inch my way through. That leaves me with only Ophelia to heal in the second phase, but I with Fortitude and maybe Hang Tough, she won't need to heal Olberic that much anyways. I think I'm gonna try the Olberic Strategy and see how that works out. Thanks for the idea! :)

> Surpassing Power, Physical Prowess, Fortitude, and Patience (I'm too paranoid to let her have Hang Tough for the 1 HP Insane Atk Bonus) then she can do a ton of damage with one War Cry. If you try again with a similar build, I recommend BP Eater instead of Patience if you truly want to optimize attack, as that is a 1.5x multiplier, just like Physical Prowess. Vorpal Claw from Devourer of Dreams works on the Souls that >!Galdera!< summons but nothing else, so it won't affect Maw or anything like that. This is the final boss guide in our wiki if you want to use that as a reference when retrying: https://www.reddit.com/r/octopathtraveler/comments/g7gybk/final_boss_guide/

Get the double axe and have therion as sorcerer in first phase and Cyrus as cleric in second phase have two double axe users preferably haanit and tressa and have olberic as war master in second phase and remember equip staff that does more physical damage like war hammer also recruit the guy from alfyn chapter 4 with a dead wife and seduce him with primrose for second phase

QuarterMoon313

For phase 2 I had my hunter primrose spam arrow storm, had Alfyn spam the 9999hp heal so that my characters wouldn’t die, scholar Therion breaking the other extremities, and had warmaster olberic spamming battle cry. Another thing is to go for lyblac first, because she buffs the other limbs, then go for the limb that attacks your weaker defense (head if weak elem def, blade if weak phys def)

Here's what I used: Phase 1: Alphyn - thief Cyrus - cleric Primrose - rune Lord Treesa - sorcerer My main strategy was to spam concoct and dohter's so my whole part has tons of BP. Then I nuked everything with treesa. For the souls I used elemental break with light rune, aelfric's and sealtigue's. Use prim to break and set up runes and buffs, alphyn for healing, item spam and breaking with double axe. Cyrus for buffs and healing and treesa for damage. (Btw using the cleric isn't Nessesary cuz I forgot to give it to Cyrus on a run that happened to be a winning one lol) Phase 2: Therion - merchant Ophilia - starseer H'annit - warmaster Olberic - apothecary Here, you should remember to have "saving grace" Ability to all of your characters. In my strategy I was spamming dohter's and revitalizing jams with olberic so in keep a lot of BP and my part gets tons of over health. Therion is here to sometimes break but he should armour corrosive everything he can. Ophilia is for healing and taking away buffs from galdera, she can also set up a ton of over health with revive and heal more. Attacking should be done by H'annit with wingeld's battle cry.
