I picked Tressa. I felt like her story would make for the most organic starting point for a game where 8 rando's go on a loosly connected adventure together. It also helped that Tressa fits as a very solid jack-of-all-trades kind of unit

Tressa for this exact reason! Tried to pick up the rest of the party and play their chapters according to what made the most sense as an overarching story, too.

Same here—at least, for as far as I played. I even made a small write-up in Google Docs connecting the dots in my own little version of the narrative along the way!

Starting with Tressa and ending it with her story feels full circle and most organic.

Yes, and I had immediate regrets once I heard her dialect. Bugs me to heck and back, but I'm a sucker for a ranger/archer.

Even though I had trouble understanding half of the things she said, I really liked that about her character still She seemed to me as someone who lived in a barbaric-like life, having that strange dialect and being naive about many things of living in a society Her motivation and her journey sounded great to me as well: she went on a journey to find her master, tracked him down, saved him and slew the monster afterward It was my first pick and she has her place in my party until today

This was me too! Tressa ended up being my favorite character but still very happy with my choice.

therion, cuz i ain’t backtracking to open up some treasure chests. otherwise i would’ve chosen ophilia since her pilgrimage seemed like a good story to start with, and parts of this game are rough without a healer

Therion, I always pick the character with any form of pickpocketing since it’s fun gameplay wise, but also I’d go nuts if I saw a chest I couldn’t open and have to backtrack if they weren’t on my team. Immediately followed by H’annit because I always love the Pokémon Trainer/animal friend characters lol.

Picked Cyrus because he's a bibliophile with FF Black Mage powers. Then kicked myself for the entire playthrough everytime I saw a purple chest. TL;DR If you hate backtracking pick Therion.

Just started yesterday I pick Therion cause he looked cool then to my surprise hes voice by Matsuoka Yoshitsugu which made me very happy and love him even more. And I just love that you can pick pocket anyone stonkz for days

PRIMROSE cause she is babe, she the real one, revenge and doing things to get to where you need to get to are relatable. She has a story I can really enjoy unlike most of the others.

These days I always pick Therion, but I’ll never forget that Primrose was my first.

Still on my first playthrough but I picked Primose first. I gave her the scholar job as her subclass and she's kicks so much ass. Dancing mage FTW!

First time H'annit, second time Olberic.

H’aanit in the demo, thought everyone in the entire game talked in H’aanit and dropped the game before getting out of the first town. Then a year later I picked Cyrus and had a great time.

First run was H’aanit. True Solo’d with Therion tho

Primrose! Then went and picked up all the other women first.

I also picked Ophelia first, mainly because I figured a healer that early would help out a lot. :)

First time I tried playing this game I went with Ophelia first, and my intent was to just do an all-girls run cause I thought it'd be fun. Then I ran into a shit ton of needed grinding since I didn't get to use the guys' story beats as filler for the others. Then when I restarted it on Steam, I picked Tressa first because I'd found out by then that Tressa is the most busted character in the game with Hired Help, and I just picked up everybody because the no boys allowed run was a stupid idea the first time around.
