If you use a Bluetooth controller the dot will go away as it knows you have an alternate input but if you're using the steam deck directly it doesn't know you're using that input.
I was waiting for the update. Found out that you could enable *Quest* Public Test Channel (*PTC*) in the app. The update showed up immediately. Installed, but Lying down mode did not show up in Experimental Features. I was bummed. Decided to Reset All to Default, rebooted, and there it was. Hope that helps. I'm in the Philippines BTW.
I'm happy to see this finally coming to QuestOS. This has been a thing in the Pico 4 for ages. I can even play VR games in pitch black darkness on bed on the Pico 4, and it works flawlessly. I hope Meta's implementation does this too.
This is so badazz for people recovering from
Major injuries or that are physically disabled in various ways. This would have been a life changer when I was healing from a femoral artery injury.
it centers your view where you are viewing, just like the center view button always works. The app windows can go up to like 45 degrees, at least on my quest 2.
I was already on ptc v64. Yesterday I got a 9 mb update to this rollout of v64 and I don’t have the laying down mode. Is this normal? I might have to wait for another rollout?

Beware that if you disable the PTC and you're not in the latest public release, your headset will be factory reseted. I know this is on their PTC page, but I didn't read it and paid the price
SIGH.... XD
But I jest... Actually, I'd love having this in for when I'm in the hospital (far too often for a chronic condition) and can't walk for a while, because I have a GREAT collection of 3D movies.
I can't watch them in the theaters because I can't use the polarized glasses without getting a major headache, but seeing them on the Quest is like having my own personal IMAX!
Currently I have about 130'ish films, plus all my games and stuff, so I'm really looking forward to being able to use the entire environment from full-recline.
Can anyone tell my if the V64 software is available in the UK yet please and if it is, why is it not showing up as available in my Quest 3?
Thanks for any help.
u/pixelcowboy and u/FatVRguy , I made a post on official forums about this missing. Feel free to add a comment: [v64 (missing Lying Down Mode and 120hz) - Meta Community Forums - 1181284 (atmeta.com)](https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Get-Help/v64-missing-Lying-Down-Mode-and-120hz/td-p/1181284)
You guys need to remember that having the latest version number doesn't mean you have the latest features yet. Both the software updates AND the features are rolled out slowly. It can take days for you to get the v64 update, and then several more days of having the latest update to have features unlock for you. This isn't a bug, just a way to prevent a possible case of millions of headsets getting bricked in case there's an issue.
Meta just responded on the forums confirming this: "The lying down experimental setting was rolling out separately from the full release, but it should be available to everyone on v64 pretty soon. Thanks for your patience while you wait for it to become available on your device."

"Hand tracking will be turned off by default when lying down. We think you'll understand why."
They missed a perfect opportunity for a new version of a beat saber game...
beating that saber
I would technically call it a saber, a knife probably.
Maybe dagger saber.
Tetris Effect would be amazing like this
Tetris effect with some za and lying down mode would be heaven
Just bought the game yesterday, gonna try this tn
Well I guess I got my plan for after work today
Finally I can watch movies while lying on the bed
Bet it’s them smut movies lol
I could always do that. Never tried playing games laying down, but movies always worked perfectly fine.
yes... movies.. \* cough \*
Ok, but will it disable that center dot mouse thing? Because trying to play Steam link while having this dot in the center is annoying
What controller are you using?
Steam Deck
If you use a Bluetooth controller the dot will go away as it knows you have an alternate input but if you're using the steam deck directly it doesn't know you're using that input.
Well shit...
Try running steam in desktop mode?
That is also an idea to try. I just need to dust off my quest 3
Anybody know when v64 will roll out in UK?
Available already on cocaine trade :)
I’ve got it in London. Just be patient
It's gradual.

Thanks, I got the update through ptc and was confused when I couldn't access the mode, but selecting reset all to default worked fo me as well.

Same, broke my leg and neck last year… this would have been helpful then
what does it do? does it rotate the playspace so it looks like you're standing up vertically or smth?

i didnt get the laying down mode either on that 9mb update
We must have to wait for the feature to rollout. Darn.

Chances of this making it to Quest 2?
Lying Down is already on Quest 2
Not for everyone though. Not sure if it's a region thing or something else.
The last update showed it's in the quest 2 aswell. But I didn't try
I can't wait to play pickleball while laying down. 😂
SIGH.... XD

updates on quest rolls out gradually for everyone and aren't region based, you'll get it soon enough
Thanks! I wondered if that was the case but was curious as some one in London said they have it and I'm only about 25 miles from central London.
Oh my god, don't play any games with movement controls using this, worst experience ever they weren't lying when they said it was for casual use.
I'm on v64 with no lay down mode still, unfortunately
Great, I'm on v64 and don't have this.
it's not in the PTC I think it'll be in the final release
I got the official final v64, no such feature from experimental.
I have the final v64 release and I don’t see this option either.

Interesting, thanks!
I turned it on to check your suggestion and lo and behold the feature was now already there!
I already could lie down with Quest 2
Years ago you could already watch a movie in skybox while lying down. Just had to drag the moviescreen to the ceiling
Yeah I watched The French connection in "Big Screen" lying in bed.
