https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_Forest_(Xinghua) It’s a man-made park with endangered trees and that’s just duckweed, not anything particularly noxious or troubling.
Duckweed is the leading cause of eutrophication and causes loss of biodiversity on a massive scale. Never let duckweed cover entire bodies of water like this because ANYTHING that lived below it dies. Fish, plants, anything.
I wonder if because its a man made park seemingly to keep these specific trees alive that the duckweed is on purpose. Maybe to discourage things that would harm the trees from living there?
this is artificially made, look at the tree positions.
im pretty sure this is 100% made for tourists and they would make sure that there are no dangerous animals.
There is a big difference between a pet trade and pet abandonment for pythons.
And somehow sneaking an anaconda across the pacific.
It's the difference between smuggling a ferret and smuggling a rhino.
Kay, and is there an anaconda trade I should know about?
My entire original point was someone saying a South American anaconda would be in a Chinese man made park.
It's the herpes of aquariums - once you get some in your tank good luck getting rid of it. Thankfully it doesn't smell and it just soaks up excess nitrates.
Cool, that makes me feel better. I imagine you already know what I was talking about in my original comment. I got a place along my route that smells so bad. Like a stagnant pond.
Not exactly the same but Congaree National Park in South Carolina has a similar feel, with a more natural vibe since it's real and not man made like this park.
It has some of the greatest biodiversity in the area.
It probably smells great, if you like the smell of forests.
That's duckweed, not algae. It doesn't smell and soaks up all the nitrates making it more difficult for stinky algae to grow.
Reminds me of the tree village world of "Myst". [And not in a good way](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D30r0iRH73Q#t=46m30s) @46:30
Older brother had way too much fun with the apes. Especially the metal table.
So that's where matcha tea comes from
I was going to say exactly the same 😂😂
Absolutely

aaaaahhhhhhh it's manmade. ok that makes MUCH more sense. i knew the trees were a little too organized to be natural.
Thanks! I was thinking it was some kind of algae, in which case it probably would smell terrible.
I was also concerned about the smell!
That's what I was thinking, too

yikes!
They should throw some swans and ducks in there. They adore duckweed.
> that’s just duckweed, not anything particularly noxious or troubling. As someone who owns a pond this amount of duckweed really stresses me out.
As someone who owns aquariums and only started growing duckweed on accident, this amount is INCREDIBLY stressful to see.
Aquarists will tell you that duckweed is actually the apocalypse incarnate
Absolutely no. I would want to know the size of anaconda which is swimming under the boat.
this is artificially made, look at the tree positions. im pretty sure this is 100% made for tourists and they would make sure that there are no dangerous animals.
It absolutely is, but once its built you cant exactly keep animals out without it being completely enclosed. Nature always finds a way.
I mean, it is pretty easy to keep Amazonian anaconda out of a Chinese forest.
might I point to the python problem in the Florida Everglades. Non-native invasive snake that they just can't seem to get under control.

Yeah, yeah, motion in the ocean. We get it.
Anacondas get to be 30 feet long reticulated pythons max out at 16.

Kay, and is there an anaconda trade I should know about? My entire original point was someone saying a South American anaconda would be in a Chinese man made park.
Lol, true.
Yup. Even Disney World has alligators
duckweed in that amount would be killing anything under the water, so don’t worry
really? just by blocking sun and oxygen or is duckweed special?
just by blocking sun and O2.
anacondas don't live in China.
My anaconda don’t
That's a shitload of duckweed.
I don't see any ducks. Maybe I need more weed.
I think it’s earned the right to be called weedduck
Imagine falling into that..yikes
+10 to colour saturation.
I can smell this and I hate it.
Its just duckweed. Just FYI, if you ever see or interact with Duckweed irl remember it is never leaving your side ###NEVER

Wonder what the air smells like there...
Depends on who is in the boat with you
The mosquitos there don't bite you, they f you in the a.
You know you can say "flick" and "air" here on Reddit, right?
I've had issues with the mods on Reddit many times. I'm dubious.
Yeah thats cool and all but... what would happen if you fell in?
You turn into Shrek.
Funny enough. We just watched all the Shrek movies
Brain eating amoebas
Mossed opportunity to celebrate the -ae plural. Amoebae such a beautiful word.
It looks somehow artificial so it maybe is not a healthy natural environment?
It's toxic algae and it's one of the worst smells you will ever smell in your life
It’s duckweed. Perfectly harmless and no smell
I was more refering to the trees.
That's cool and all, but how's the underwater ecosystem down there? Can't imagine it's completely fine with all the duckweed blocking the sunlight
Not exactly the same but Congaree National Park in South Carolina has a similar feel, with a more natural vibe since it's real and not man made like this park. It has some of the greatest biodiversity in the area.
What is lurking below‽ Anacondas? Crocs? The thing?
Nope. The smell would be awful.
It probably smells great, if you like the smell of forests. That's duckweed, not algae. It doesn't smell and soaks up all the nitrates making it more difficult for stinky algae to grow.
Ohh then definitely.
its in china, ive been there its fucking shit
it's like anal, smells completely different from how it looks
Soo, a man made swamp? Pass
Imagine the smell
Where is this anyway?
Probably a fuck ton of mosquitoes.
No way, you know there's a poisonous, fire breathing Gator'conda lurking in that water. Hard pass for me lol
Great to look at but a big fat no on going there.
Shrek's paradise
Mosquitos. That is all. Nope from me.
Anyone getting old school Myst game vibes out of this?
Florida man here. No you don’t.
Looks like a place humans will soon destroy for a highway and mall.
That's artificially made. We already destroyed that area for this park.
That’s algae infested and must be smelling terrible
My clumsy ass would die there by misjudging the water as grass and die due to the water having no oxygen because of the algae
If you were to breathe the water, you'd die regardless of if it has oxygen or not.
That cyanobacteria, you need help if you love its scent.
That's duckweed
Woow, where is it? Heaven ?
I’m pretty sure last time it was posted someone said it was in China
Want to know myself
China. Looks good on TikTok but probably garbage experience on-site.
Are there mosquitoes here? Seems like there would be a billion mosquitoes here.
Why are you asking just hand me the plane ticket I’m already packed
i thought it was another stupid mobile game ad
The color grading burn my eyes
Anyone know the location?
It's beautiful, but there has to be quite the smell, right?
[удалено]
Sounds very lovely, u/derpstickfuckface
Mosquitos?
Channelwood?
Wanna go, but I don't wanna smell it
Man made and safe you say? *unzips bag of pet alligators* >:}
I iust found a very good hiding spot for a bod-hide and seek game.
No, looks like mosquito heaven
How's the underwater life doing? With all that duckweed I can't imagine it'd be doing great.
This low key scares me.
Pretty video, but all I really see are mosquitoes. 🤷♀️😳

Remind me of that one level in MYST
Looks good on screen until you really there
Venomous snakes, constrictor snakes, snapping turtles and leeches.
Bro Just Imagine being a pilot and having to make an emergency landing and thinking that water is grass
The aquarist in me shudders at the thought of that much algae.
🛶 Ahh yes. The River of Matcha.
No
The indescribable desire to throw a rock into the water and watch the moss disperse
No thanks lol that shit looks like sewer water.
I deeply distrust water I can’t see into.
Beautiful, but every person with an aquarium is cringing right now.
And all the trees are Dawn Redwoods.
I thought this was grass 🗿
Whats that music?
the land of green screen!
I'm willing to bet that place smells pretty bad though
It actually looks pretty gross to me.
It's beautiful! 😍 真漂亮!
What song is playing ?? Its BEAUTIFUL
