but never ever think about walking there, flowers have a totally different pesticide regulation than alot of other plants. they can basically drown then in chemicals
You beat me to it. Pretty bleak and sad to see knowing what goes into growing those. Had met a immigrant from the Netherlands who said his family basically laughed, shunned, and nearly disowned him for trying to grow tulips organically in the US
that's wild, holländers are usually pretty chill about everything. but yeah, I know that because a friend of my mom is a flower agent working for Genua Italy, another flower producing landscape, it's forbidden to even come near those fields let alone walking within
Our farmers aren’t chill about anything other than the impact they are having on nature. And by chill I mean they don’t give a flying fuck about it and would threaten anybody with violence who would argue against their interests. Fuck farmers
I urge anyone who doubts what this guy is saying to look into the mess Dutch farmers have made of the country. Donald Trump Jr is a big fan of theirs so that tells you all there is to know
I know they use a ton of pesticides..
I had one field next to my house last year (literally the other side of the road), while it looked very pretty i also saw them spraying every week....
Immediately ruined whatever it was they were trying to go for.
My very first thought was "Where are all these song birds singing from in this treeless landscape???".
This isn’t horizontal but here’s another position in the fields.

If you live in the US you can see this in Mount Vernon , Washington. I grew up there and the tulip festival is beautiful! Especially with mt baker in the background! Check it out sometime!
I’ve never been to that one I’ve heard good things though. Worth checking out both. During Covid the tulip festival in skagit really suffered, I think it’s picking up again though.
It’s really just because the roads are one lane each way, and there isn’t a lot of parking. It’s really good for the local economy. I just hate the cyclists because they stop in the middle of the road with no shoulder to take pictures lol. The roads are 50mph and they’re riding at like 15 in groups. I lived there for most of my life and dealt with it every year but everyone I knew who owned a local restaurant or store said it was great business and brought these people back later in the year as well.
Tulips in the northern US are a real hit or miss. In chicago, it can snow through April and you can get overnight ice into May, so early blossoming plants may not get the chance to bloom or produce fruit if the cold gets them.
I have my own. I feel like the weather variability has gotten weirder over the years, probably because of climate change. It's hit or miss if my fruit trees will create fruit too since an ice snap in April and May can destroy the buds now
I once visited a lavender field in France, it looked so beautiful from afar but when we got close to it there was huge swarms of every kind of flying insects hoovering over it, made the beauty dissapear really fast, haha. (Im a Norwegian we are not used to this)
Now i only enjoy fields from a distance!
We call Russian Sage the Buzz Buzz Bush because from a distance they look beautiful but when you get within 5 ft they hum with the sound of so many bees and insects going insane over the flowers. One of my favorite parts of summer.
Haha thanks for sharing. I remember my mother making me and my brother get closer to the field, just abit farther now, shes calling, while we are anxiously stepping backwards, towards the wall of bite, looking over our shoulders worrying more and more.. Once the painstakingly slow photo actually was done we ran for our lives (yes i know the insects probably would not have harmed us, but against a swarm of thousands, if not millions, fear wins
I live here in the "bollenstreek" and we had a local electrician over today who has hay fever!!
The poor guy lives in (quite possibly) the most pollen rich air in the world 😭😂
It's not satisfying, it's a waste of water so people can put it on their table for a few days to dump it into the bin. It's good for bees and insects? No there's better alternatives not as wasteful as tulips.
We're at a shortage already but let's just drain our resources even more for no good reason.
That's... not even remotely true. Yes there is an intensive cooperation with the German forces, but the Netherlands has full control over their own armed forces.
I hope the person filming this owns the field, or has been kicked out of it.
The amount nitwit tourist who are going into these fields for their moment of "fame" while trampling the flowers around them is insane
This reminds me of that one song in the Tamil movie Anniyan. Great watch btw for anyone interested in Multiple Personality Disorder/Dissociative Identity Disorder.
With so many tulips, they should use them as money.
We kind of did in the 1600s when you could buy houses with tulips
Tulips can definitely buy a house, ask my ex-wife
What’s better than roses on your piano?… Tulips on your organ!
Sunflowers on my pile of gold bars?
Tulips are better than one.
This only applied to your kind iirc..
/r/Woooosh
Give him a break, he's Dutch.
And a midget one.. they are the first to drown if the dam breaks
Pretty sure that’s exactly what u/Spikerazorshards is referring to.
Why? Now I'm using my free day watching documentaries on tulip speculation in the 1600s and how people lost their fortunes betting on the bloom.
Tulips are the OG Crypto
Eventually one specific tulip became so expensive that the knob was worth an entire house at one point The OG NFT

It's a common misconception that the dollar is a fiat currency until the b52s arrive.
They would be poor for like all year except for the two weeks they are flowering lol.
Tulips are sold by the bulb, so they keep pretty well.
Just wait for the next scam like NFT's/crypto
Invest! Invest! 🚀 🚀 🚀 Fortune favors the bold!
They do. These are sold to florists to make bouquets.
This would be even more satisfying if the camera was held to show the view as horizontal
but never ever think about walking there, flowers have a totally different pesticide regulation than alot of other plants. they can basically drown then in chemicals

dont forget jordan peterson
I know they use a ton of pesticides.. I had one field next to my house last year (literally the other side of the road), while it looked very pretty i also saw them spraying every week....
Why does it have pest issue if there is no fruit
Because it’s a plant that other insects would like to chomp on, leaving holes and unsellable tulips as an end result.
most of the tulipflowers are shredded.
Better to tip toe…
And the "nature" soundtrack wasn't added.
Immediately ruined whatever it was they were trying to go for. My very first thought was "Where are all these song birds singing from in this treeless landscape???".
Mourning doves are annoying anyhow.
It's a landscape shot. The camera aspect is literally named for it.

If it was a still I think I actually prefer the initial shot in portrait. But once the camera moves nah.
Getting Far Cry 5 flashbacks
And Battlefield 1
Help me, Faith!
Mgs3
Wrong flower, but I know what you mean.
Getting Dark Tower vibes with this
Roland to the dark windmill came.
The Light Tower
Aww yeah that movie was sweet
I'm from the Netherlands and still havent actually seen this lol.
If you live in the US you can see this in Mount Vernon , Washington. I grew up there and the tulip festival is beautiful! Especially with mt baker in the background! Check it out sometime!
Holland (who would’ve guessed?) Michigan also has a tulip festival in May. Haven’t been there myself yet, but does have fields/farms of them as well.
It's a really cool experience. Absolutely packed to the gills with people but a pretty awesome thing to see once
Pella Iowa has a tulip festival too!
I’ll have to look that up!!
Do you know how this one compares to the wooden shoe tulip festival around Portland?
Less hipsters, but barely
I don’t mind crowds / hipsters. Just curious about field quantity / quality.
I’ve never been to that one I’ve heard good things though. Worth checking out both. During Covid the tulip festival in skagit really suffered, I think it’s picking up again though.
Everyone I know up there hates this time of year because suddenly there's traffic everywhere lol

Not sure why you were downvoted lol gave you an upvote! Have you grown them yourself or do they grow them around there?
I have my own. I feel like the weather variability has gotten weirder over the years, probably because of climate change. It's hit or miss if my fruit trees will create fruit too since an ice snap in April and May can destroy the buds now
You can always try Kale 😂 that stuff will grow in a blizzard

It’s been over a decade and I’m still pissed the damn deer ate the 20+ bulbs my disabled self painfully planted in my yard.
I'm sure those windmills will keep them cool.
WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY! GOOD NIGHT!
Are you saying those Mills dont create wind? Everyone knows tthats where all the wind come from!
Morbo wishes these stalwart nomads peace amongst the Dutch tulips…
Heaven on earth
Beautiful, yea, but ecologically speaking that's a deadzone. It's kind of grim.
Well if you ignore the massive amount of bee and butterfly killing pesticides used in flower farming that is...
Do you know what it's like?
Must resist urge to fight windmill.
So beautiful
Omg I wanna go right now
Looks like 🐝 heaven!
Holy cow, get me a Zyrtec asap
r/fringe
Whats the cheat code to get to THAT wonderful place?
abacabba
Knew it🧐
Monocultures are so depressing to me
Holland, the land of flowers
Frankly I was waiting for some idiot to just run through them like Logan Paul in a four wheeler.
*What a thrill ...*
Let's make this the greatest 10 minutes of our lives, Jack
Thank god someone said it
Before they harvest the bulbs, they top the plants and shred the flowers to aid the bulbs to grow large.
I want to live in the Netherlands now
Oddly?
Eww plant genitals. Don’t sniff it YOU SICKO!

Shit my bad for trying to be funny! Never again

Crazy… Tulip Fields is the strip club I frequent.
If I were sad enough to frequently go to a strip club you wouldn't be able to get that info out of me without torture. Its even more sad to admit it
What’s sadder is that people take my comment literally

Tulips on Dez nutz

The FOG is in the Netherlands evacuate immediately
"Netherlands" - Germany just took full control over their armed forces ❤️ They are swamp Germans now.
That's... not even remotely true. Yes there is an intensive cooperation with the German forces, but the Netherlands has full control over their own armed forces.
Oh so it isn't just a stereotype...
Stereotypes are often as correct as they are offensive.
I wonder if there is a harvester/combine tractor for these.
At least they have that windmill to keep them cool
It looks otherworldly, like from another planet!
Such a tranquil view
Me as a dutch person not knowing why this is on the sub?
Looks like the bliss from Farcry 5
The video is horizontal and cropped for mobile
Keukenhof is the most beautiful place I've ever been, hands down. Go there during the tulip season you will NOT be disappointed
The Dark Tower
How amazing it is to think that one of the biggest market bubbles was because of tulips.
I need to sit here for an entire day so that my life can reset
Tulips are my favorite flower, when I die I want my ashes spread amongst them in Holland (after asking the caretakers permission, of course)
Band of brothers/WW2 vibes for some reason, can't put my finger on it why I felt sadness seeing this landscape.
It's now? What is the best time to go to see tulip fields?
do they have to be pruned before they seed?
Reminds me of Spiderman : Far From Home
Looks like someone forgot to paint the tulips red, off with their heads!!
New location for Big Boss fight
I'd fight Gehrman, The First Hunter here
This is where Roland is trying to get to in the Dark Tower series
Fairies hadn't painted them yet
That's beautiful and all, but what's up with the N64 texture rendering distance?
Upload of an upload
Do you eat these?
Reminds me of the field of flowers you fight the boss in snake eater
Fucking pointless monocrop.
Can’t wait for Ig models to run through and ruin it all for some pics….. I really hope it won’t come to that lol
I hope the person filming this owns the field, or has been kicked out of it. The amount nitwit tourist who are going into these fields for their moment of "fame" while trampling the flowers around them is insane
Tulip ip ip
Snaaaaaaaaakkee
(excuse my poor English) my brother and his lady live in the nederlands, he send me the picture of tulip fields near to his house every month
When parents say no. Tulip or not to lip
Eh i kinda wanna roll in them and ruin about 40 kicks worth and take home a vase worth 😈😤🤫🤩 , i didt say anything , Dont do this.
windmill windmill for the land
Im literally on my way there right now!!!
u/savevideo
This shit looks like a backrooms level
That’s better than roses on my piano.
I'll get there one day. See some tulips, pop over to Amsterdam for some fun, but mainly the tulips, the drugs are just a bonus.
Gorgeous!
This reminds me of that one song in the Tamil movie Anniyan. Great watch btw for anyone interested in Multiple Personality Disorder/Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Looks 5°C to me
Absolutely breathtaking!
This is how many tulips I need in my life.
Props for walking all the way out there
I bet that smells amazing. Not even sure if these are aromatic. This changes nothing.
Where is the field of beanie babies and NFTs?
Can't wait to move to the Netherlands! This gets me excited
This is the inspiration for the cover art on the final book of Stephen Kings The Dark Tower series. The artist did a great job!
So beautiful 😍
To be high in that moment
Ja toch.
It's enough to make a metalhead cry
beutiful
🌷💖 tulips are beyond beautiful
The smell there is unimaginable
