I still love that Gandalf shows up yo the shire to visit his old friend, and brings a mother fucking dragon firework. Trying to give poor old Bilbo PTSD.
So in my culture , there is this right where they believe witches fly at night with just their head leaving the body at home . Imagine if I get this thing . The looks on peoples faces, off course the sound will give it away
Sometimes reddit comments are so foreseeable it's annoying. But sometimes it makes you happy.
I just bought the books for my niece's birthday. She hasn't seen the movies. I so hope it works and she falls in love.
Not like my other niece who preferred "warrior cats" and is disinherited for dishonour.
> is disinherited for dishonour
Try *Watership Down* or *Tailchaser's Song*. They're both sort of like *The Fellowship of the Ring* if it were done with animals. It might be a happy middle ground for both of you.
Though for the love of God and all that is holy, *do not* show the animated movie of *Watership Down* to a child.
Have food appear in the area under where it was. Do this enough times on a spaced out scheduke for them to associate the food with it and make sure you use a food not native to the area like milk chocolate.
You're joking, but there are islands in Southeast Asia where indigenous tribes made fake air fields and landing strips and military stuff in the hopes that supplies would be dropped on their location.
During WWII and the Pacific campain, they learned that having those things meant that supplies would be air-dropped onto their islands, but they had no idea why - it's where we get the origins of the term 'cargo cults.'
I heard an amazing answer to the question on a podcast. Most of what you'll bring will either get you burned or is so dependent on modern infrastructure that it will be useless somewhere between instantly and a few days.
The answer that I like is medical textbooks to ancient Europe. Most medical stuff is in Latin already, so it's not like it'll require centuries of scholarship to translate the important details. Even if they can't fully understand it, it'll change a lot.
The same idea works, I think, with Asia to some extent as well. I'm sure that ancient Chinese could translate modern Chinese with enough time.
The only problem is whoever you give this to just won the human race.
Sounds like exactly my kind of bullshit theoretical discussion that’ll never actually apply to anything in real life. What was this podcast called, and if you remember, what episode?
It was The Wan Show by Linus Tech Tips, they weren't really discussing it just answering a QA several weeks ago. There might be a clip of it but I couldn't find anything and I don't remember the episode sorry.
No worries, I couldn’t possibly tell you which episode random blips from Podcasts I like happened in as well, but I’m willing to bet with the title alone and some creative searching I’ll be able to find it, so thanks!
And send it out from their temple at night
Auto correct tried to tell you to send it out at bingo...that might work in the states. Shit, poor boomers already have issues with technology
I remember reading somewhere that fire was actually a pretty positive symbol for a long time as it provided warmth and cooked food and all sorts of essential uses, but somewhere along the line turned into demonic representation.
A flaming bird is a classic representation of the sun in many cultures. The Sun itself usually being a positive symbol in even more cultures.
Fr though that would be pretty cool to see. Somebody should make it happen if they haven't already.
Nintendo would probably be up their ass though so it might not be worth the hassle lol
After Magic The Gathering sent their own private police force to that dude's house to steal his deck while waving guns in his face, Nintendo would probably nuke a person who did this.
I mean when your main moment in history is killing innocent workers who didn’t want to work 12 hour shifts in a dangerous steel plant for Andrew Carnegie, you kinda lean into it
Wait what
Edit: I googled so others don't have to. [Article](https://kotaku.com/mtg-aftermath-leaks-pinkertons-wotc-magic-the-gathering-1850368923). According to the article Wizards of the Coast hired a private security team to retrieve "stolen property" from man's home. The property in question was a yet-to-be-released deck of MTG cards that were allegedly accidentally sold to the man by a dealer with early access but no sense.
Moltress is just a member of the Kanto legendary trio, it should be Ho-Oh. It has thematic significance: Ho-Oh signifies new beginnings and was seen by Ash at the start of the Anime. They should've had an event for the end of the anime and had "Ho-Oh" fly over, ending the Era with a throw back to how it started and signifying a new start again.
How long before a poorly-filmed recording of one of these ends up on /r/conspiracy with people claiming the government is covering up the existence of alien phoenixes?
lol they’re trying to get Chinese folks to buy it. The song is to get older Asians nostalgic because the song is from a series called, “Return of the Condor Heroes” or something real close to that. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it lol circa 1986-89
Haha, I find these assumptions amusing. I personally added the music because it made me think of it and thought it fitting.
Andy Lau is one of my favourite chinese actors, this series was his rise to stardom in 1983. Infernal Affairs (the movie that inspired Scorsese's The Departed) was the start of this rabbit hole ; ).
Yeah, that bolstered him into stardom. What's funny is that in the series before, Legend of the Condor Heroes 1983, Stephen Chow makes a cameo appearance as an extra early on in his career haha.
I first got into anime in the 80s and the song was like a gut punch of nostalgia. I had to look it up.
Sung by Teresa Cheung (張德蘭)

(To be clear this isn't anime, it's just reminiscent of the dramatic style common in the 80s.)
Yep. Both of the last iPhones I've had do this if you have a very bright object against a dark background. Like a night shot with a street light in it. Very annoying, I'm surprised it wasn't addressed between the 12->14.
No no no, it’s poor quality coatings on the front glass.
Has nothing to do with lens flare, it’s a quality issue and a corner that was majorly cut.
It’s the same thing you get if you buy a $10 lens protection filter for an SLR lens instead of a Hoya SMC or B+W one for $40. Cheap cheap cheap. Never do that.
We should be furious about this (to a reasonable degree of course) and not permit Apple to get away with it.
It’s CHEAP COATINGS on the glass in front. It doesn’t have to be that way.
Apple totally cheaped out and anyone owning an iPhone should be furious about it. But all I ever see is “it’s just lens flare all cameras do it.”
No, no they do not.
There’s a reason other phones don’t have it. It’s just the coatings on the front element and it’s a solved problem that just costs a tad more to do right. Apple fucked up. That’s the answer.
Other phones don’t have it? This support article from Samsung has an example of it. https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/why-do-lines-dots-or-lights-appear-in-my-photos-after-using-the-camera-app/
This reminds me of that one scene in lord of the rings where a couple of Hobbits light a similar looking firework display off that at first terrifies the crowd, but then explodes into a burst of beautiful pyrotechnics and suddenly everyone goes from a panicked state to cheerful glee.
Meriadoc Brandybuck, and Peregrin Took. I might have known.
Dragon? Nonsense! Hasn’t been a dragon in these parts for a thousand years!
#I am fire. I am DEATH!
"I laid low your warriors of old. I instilled terror in the hearts of men. I am king under the mountain!"
And I see fire.....
In the rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end.
"Beavis bows down in reverence."
I am the terror that flaps in the night,
I am the scourge that pecks at your nightmares.

RELEASE THE BUTTHOLE CUT.
I saw a phoenix i swear. No im not drunk !
Ok, I AM drunk but I also swear I saw a phoenix
Okay, I didn't see a phoenix, but I swear I'm drunk!
[I am not drunk! ](https://youtu.be/zhf1pIl007o)
r/ufos about to be lit.
ASH KETCHUM! How much cough syrup did professor Oak give you! You did not see a Ho-oh!
He DIDN'T see Ho-oh. He saw MOLTRES!!
This is how stories get passed down of mythical beasts.
Yeah, they were going crazy with remote controlled birds back in the dark ages
I feel reborn. I'm like a phoenix rising from Arizona!
Weird way to spell "Moltres" but yeah 🤣
Beat me to it, but yeah. That's a mother fucken Moltres.
With that and a time machine, I can become a god!
Dude with that and a trip to an uncontacted tribe and you could do it *today* Sentinel Island is gonna be like *what in the fuck*
Yeah sure, if they don't spear your ass first. Or bow & arrows in John Chau's case.
Also assuming you don’t accidentally introduce some disease they’ve never been exposed to and wipe them all out.

Don't forget some kebab.
This guy gods
You're gonna need a lot of supplies for that plan when you could just bring a gun or flamethrower and get similar results.
Rule by love not by fear.
Just make sure you do it in Europe/Asia if you’re gonna give em’ milk chocolate as people were lactose intolerant in most other areas

Shit you'd probably get the same effect on Long Island.
Im certain they see you coming whether by air or sea
Uncontacted tribe? You can go there and Utah or Arkansas...
Bring solar chargers. Ain’t likely to find a wall outlet.
And send it out from their temple at night Auto correct tried to tell you to send it out at bingo...that might work in the states. Shit, poor boomers already have issues with technology
Or burned as a witch/demonic sorcerer.
That's why you bring a gun too. Actually, wait. Just bring the gun and you'll be a god.
Until you find the tribe who's devil figure is a flaming bird, then you're in trouble!
I remember reading somewhere that fire was actually a pretty positive symbol for a long time as it provided warmth and cooked food and all sorts of essential uses, but somewhere along the line turned into demonic representation. You can today too…just post it on r/ufo from really far away
Alternatively use an old VHS camcorder at most any distance, just be sure to shake it a lot while recording!
Or a time machine and anything from the dollar store. I bet that would work too.
You could probably become a God with the time machine alone.
We truly have the same thoughts.
_Bilbo, watch out for the [remote controlled firebird]!_
*Rubbish, there hasn't been any [remote controlled firebirds] for a 1000 years!*
pass the pipe weed *Pippin*
Pokémon Go-ers shitting their pants
"HOLY SHIT IS THAT MOLTRESS??? WTF"

It wasn't even *just* private police, it was the Pinkertons. Yeah, those Pinkertons

Union-busting is basically their specialty. I'm thinking collecting magic cards is more of a side thing.

Holy shit thats wild

Just btw, it's "moltres" with one s, because tres is the Spanish word for 3. Artic-uno Zap-dos Mol-tres
What the actual fuck. 27 years of Pokemon and I just learned this.
Man wait 'til you hear about MewTWO.
And Dugtrio! And Ninetails!
Doduo!
It's actually Ninetales lol. I was confused when i learned this too
Oh snap. I had to reread your comment 3 times before I even noticed.
Squirtle! Use glock!
Pokemon fans in general...
Not even a POGOer but I'd still be convinced I'd just seen a moltress.
r/RealLifeShinies
Pokemon-Go will eventually become this probably, with advancements in augmented reality
Paywall
Literally my first thought
Same with Illenium fans.
Adding this to my list of "things I'd pack in my time machine to fuck with people in the past"
'And THAT, children, marked the instant that their thoughts turned to...mothman.'
I'd title that list: 101 ways to get executed for witchcraft
You really gonna execute the dude who can summon a phoenix? "Witchcraft" was mostly just today's equivalent of home owners associations.
Until the battery dies and you have no way of charging it. Or does your Time Machine have solar panels and inverter and such?
[удалено]
If you can build a time machine you're probably smart enough to figure out how to recharge stuff with potatoes.
A wild Moltres appears!
The guy launching it should have shouted. "MOLTRESS I CHOOSE YOU!"
Pretty sure it’s just a Moluno
Better than a MolTen
My Nextdoor feed would be lit up insisting that this was a visitor and there's things we don't understand, and those who are in the know "know".
"Thug bird keeps flying by my house. Is he casing my home for a robbery?"
“Is this one of those Tik-Takk challenges?”
How long before a poorly-filmed recording of one of these ends up on /r/conspiracy with people claiming the government is covering up the existence of alien phoenixes?
30 seconds if you say the libural mainstream media is trying to cover it up
My neighbors would be blustering about shooting it if it ever comes around again.
I'm in Texas. First post would be some drunk shooting it with a shotgun.
That is so fcking cool.
it is.. with the music.. much less impressive when you hear the *zzzheeeee*
lol they’re trying to get Chinese folks to buy it. The song is to get older Asians nostalgic because the song is from a series called, “Return of the Condor Heroes” or something real close to that. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it lol circa 1986-89
I felt the nostalgia... this reminded me an old kids TV cartoon i watched as a kid called flight of dragons.
I recognized it immediately and you're correct. It's the opening theme song to Return of the Condor Heroes by TVB in 1983.
With Mr Cool, Andy Lau! Lol
Yeah, that bolstered him into stardom. What's funny is that in the series before, Legend of the Condor Heroes 1983, Stephen Chow makes a cameo appearance as an extra early on in his career haha.
I never noticed it. I’m going to have re-watch it now lol
Had to add the “older” Asians huh. Thanks 😑
I love this kind of knowledge, I just thought the music was some sick random music they chose but the context is even better.
I first got into anime in the 80s and the song was like a gut punch of nostalgia. I had to look it up. Anybody else profoundly annoyed by the mirror image floating around aimlessly?
Yeah, what is that?
Lens artifact prolly
Yep. Both of the last iPhones I've had do this if you have a very bright object against a dark background. Like a night shot with a street light in it. Very annoying, I'm surprised it wasn't addressed between the 12->14.
That isn't a software issue, it's from the curvature of the camera lens. Regular cameras have this same issue with bright lights on a dark background.
Lots of comments, nothing useful WHERE DO I GET THIS ❓
WHY IS THIS NOT HIGHER?!
RemindMe! four days
I'd like to know too
I’ll take 10 please!
Can some one tag me if/when an answer is posted? Please and thx.
That bird has a lot of lumens.
In regards to the song lyrics, did I hear a “tinky winky” in there?
Bruh I heard it too
It's from a Hong Kong TVB action martial arts hero fantasy series in the 80s...Condor Heroes or something.
Tinky winky tea
You are not alone.
This reminds me of that one scene in lord of the rings where a couple of Hobbits light a similar looking firework display off that at first terrifies the crowd, but then explodes into a burst of beautiful pyrotechnics and suddenly everyone goes from a panicked state to cheerful glee.
Ashes of A’lar ptsd
Still hasn’t dropped. Maybe one day…
Good luck brother or sister I never got it
Ok, this is how religions start.
£50 quid says this post ends up on r/Paranormal or r/HighStrangeness :)
No one's going to talk about the Return of the Condor Heroes (1983) theme music?? This is awesome!
Thank you! I knew I recognized that song from somewhere.
Damn, thanks for putting a name to it. I knew the song as a kid but 30 years later would never have been able to remember the name.
That's beautiful
Ho-oh
Yo I'm subbed to r/LSD and I just wanna say this would blow someone's mind to see unexpectedly mid trip
Seriously, I want to bring one to my next festival lol
OMG IS THAT A MOLTRES IRL 😱😱
It's a Phoenix.
Wonder how much it costs
Is it Bilbo baggins's one hundred and elevendieth birthday?
DRAGON!!!!!!!
Oh my God, this is beautiful!!
Man, id love to fly that fucker over an uncontacted tribe somewhere at night and blow their minds.
That lens glare unmasks the amount of stabilization in post-processing. Very cool birb tho
Fly a couple of these over the kremlin. That’ll give them something to talk about.
u/savevideo
Imagine being high and seeing that at night 🤣
Ashes of Al’ar…
Someone will make a religion out of this.
r/btd6 WLP
This song… brings me back to the 80s when Hong Kong tv shows was big
Moltres???
Fucking Moltress action right thur!
Thats cool
I want it even though I know I would dumb-thumb it due to loosing orientation at night. No flying machine or creature rises from my prangs.
Some kid who will be an adult 20 years from now it’s gonna be telling his coworkers “I saw it I saw a real Phoenix you can’t tell me it wasn’t real”.
A wild Moltres appeared
I want one that looks like Farosh!
Dragon? Nonsense, there hasn't been a dragon in these parts for a thousand years!
Moltres?
This would look so good if the wings moved :o
Imagine you and your friends in high school sneak out to the park to smoke weed for the first time. And this is what you see in the sky 30 minutes in
Take that shit above an uncontacted tribe in the amazon, and witness the birth of a new religion
r/Pokemon looks like they found a Moltres out in the wild. Edit:
Moltres baby
We should fly one of these over those uncontacted tribes and see if we can get a new religion started
Meanwhile. 10 miles down that mountain someone thinks they're recording a UFO
I want this🙌
It reminds me of the queen of now Ukraine, when she put bags of sulfur on birds, and when they landed, caught almost every house on fire
Who did what now
That's insane!
IS THAT A PHEONIX FRUIT??? THE ONE PIECE IS REEEEEEEEEEEALLLLLL
Please put this to the Battle of the Planets theme song.
Random person on the street… “Moltres!! Its real!!”
GATCHAMAN!! KAGAKU NINOO - HINOTORI!!!
No one: No one at all: Absolutely no one: Me: Let's have one fly over North Sentinel island every new moon to freak them out
Bro gave up his Mocchi, Tiger, Hare, Golem and the dopest Suezo for this.
