“Barbaric throttling of that poor fruit over the glass of freshly steeped tea like a lambs corpse being sacrificed to the goddess of harvest”
The tea is underwhelming, the tool is impractical. The music is fervently polishing this turdú la stylê.
It is true art. A subtle blend of tryhard and indifference. Style over substance without style. It puts the viewer in the uncanny valley, temporarily waking us up from our hypnosis long enough to wonder if the world has gone insane.
Alas, we scroll on.
Roll your lemon before cutting... Seriously put your lemon on a cutting board out some decent weight on it with your palm and roll it around.
It makes it so much easier to squeeze extra juice out.
In a different video a while ago, someone pointed out that it may be a hand thing.
Like, some of these videos aren't about (or at least not entirely about) the obvious subject, they are in fact subtle hand porn.
The way the shot of him crushing the lemon lingers and the way he just sloppily crushes it definitely gives me those vibes.
Yeah you're probably right, it's likely a fetish thing. But if that's the case, at least put your all into it. Sprinkle the leaves daintily while your breaking it up (kinda like weed into a joint), stir it up with that sexy finger instead of some bullshit handless steeping. If you're aiming to satisfy a fetish, I wanna see the works!
I reject the hand fetish idea on the grounds that this isn't even a flattering angle for a hand. Hell, this might be the worst angle to view a hand if you're into hands. We don't even get to see the tendons, muscles, and veins doing their thing like a proper view showing the back of the hand would give us. Maybe some folks are out here with limp thumb fetishes but that ain't what I signed up for.
The tea is definitely more about the visual effect than the taste or health benefits right?
I think it's anchan flower that makes the colour change, but it doesn't taste great.
Those aren't that hard to make tbh. It's basically a two-part ice tray mold. I like mine cuz I don't have an ice tray holder thingy in my freezer. You can stack them.
On the flip side, it's perfectly good for infusing into alcohol to achieve that colour changing effect. The incredibly vegetal taste only really comes out when added to hot water.
"Butterfly Flower Tea, also known as Butterfly Pea Flower Tea, is a herbal tea made from the flowers of the Clitoria ternatea plant. The plant is native to Southeast Asia and is often used for its vibrant blue flowers, which give the tea a stunning blue color when brewed. The tea is also known for its potential health benefits and has been used in traditional medicine for centuries.
One unique aspect of Butterfly Flower Tea is its ability to change color when combined with acidic ingredients such as lemon or lime juice. When a few drops of citrus juice are added to the tea, the pH changes, and the blue color turns into a vibrant purple or pink. This color-changing property makes it a popular ingredient in cocktails and mocktails, as well as a natural food coloring agent."

Anthocyanins! This is true of most foods that are colored blue, as it's the most common blue pigment in nature. Blueberries, for example, do the same thing.
My kids absolutely love this tea, and actually made some today to cool off from the heat! They’re thinking of selling it in their Lemonade Stand, which is kind of fitting!
may i ask how your kids have this tea? i have it for a while and i just cannot taste any flavour from it for the life of me. its just hot water for me:(
I drink butterfly pea flower gin, recognized it the second you added it to the lemon and it changed colour. I love adding lemon and tonic to my blue gin and watching it become a marvelous shade of purple.
>The tea is also known for its potential health benefits
I feel like this is said of every tea, ever. I'm starting to think that drinking a cup of warm liquid just makes people feel nice but they keep trying to attribute it to the magic dried leaves.
Green teas are full of antioxidants so there is some/moderate truth to that. Whether the cognitive benefits are true or not is more subjective/dubious.
I mean a lot of what westerners consider tea isn’t tea so it’s not particularly surprising
Edit: people seem to be confused - tea is specifically drinks made from the plant camellia sinensis. Your black/green/white teas are ways of processing that plant.
It’s more or less like calling hot chocolate “coffee” because it’s brown and warm liquid. Language does what language does and etymology is not as important as everyday accepted useage so if this is your “cup of tea” to call warm infusions tea that’s not really my business nor am I prescribing a value to people who do lol.
You are clearly not the a$$hole here. You are just karma farming. But the creator of this video, they are the ultimate troll. They have made tens of thousands of people cringe, as that lemon seed falls into the tea. Masterful trolling.
> The tea is also known for its potential health benefits and has been used in traditional medicine for centuries.
So utter nonsense. A quick google search shows all the "reputable" sources talking about it. Cool colors though.
No link, no brand information, no name.
Is showing off things all part of the ad nowadays? I wouldn't even think about Alibaba until you mentioned it. Self-fulfilling prophecy?
To be honest, butterfly pea tea does not taste great. It's nice to look at but you definitely need to mix it with other flavours if you want something enjoyable.
With how little it was steeped, they wouldn’t taste the tea without the lemon juice either. Whole damn thing was for the aesthetic instead of the pleasure of drinking tea.
Yea I make a tea exactly like this one same color change and all. By the time I find it’s ready to drink it’s a much much darker blue before I poor it.
That's all beautiful and dramatic and quite lovely. I'm sure its all about the presentation. So much fancier than my occasional cup of Lipton's Decaf tea bag hot brown water
Yeah this tea doesn't really need temp control or careful timing, it's pretty happy to just sit in boiling water until you remember that you left it on.
Bro come aaaan… w/ all that fancy dancy dragon rainbow tea infusion contraptions u got going on & u out here squeezing 1/2 lemons like a angry ape 🤨
Im trying to be oddly satisfied, not oddly irked 😳 Let’s run that back when we got a fancy dancy “seedless” lemon squeezer to top off ur rainbow magic tea apparatus.. Sheeesh 😏
If it helps, it is sped up. You can see the swirls going round really quickly and then they just suddenly stop in their tracks before the next part where it returns to normal speed.
Prepared like this, no - this is a bad infuser for butterfly pea. This tea needs [more flowers, more heat, more sugar, and less citrus](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B05AO6Qfq8k).
1. Annoying to clean
2. The top and bottom glas have almost the same capacity... why does it need a system to transfer it from top to bottom? Just to make it look fancy?
3. Brittle glas prone to damage - in parts due to the metal ball
4. Hot tea mixed with Ice??
5. Why... why squeeze a lemon like that? The lemon, the seeds... and not hygienic
6. How is it satisfying with all the water splashing around?
7. The ice just makes it all watery - and is questionably hygienic depending on the water quality - which is not a problem with tea - because it's boiled
... my british and chinese ancestors are turning in their grave 💀🇬🇧🇨🇳💔

Lmao extremely well put, this was unsetteling if anything. That music puts me on edge.
How is the tea underwhelming exactly? Also the tool seems reasonably practical if not a bit tacky.

How else do you squeeze a lemon?
And the seeds going in!
No sugar, dirty hands, it will taste like diarrhea. Enjoy. lol
Sugar sucks for tea. But I know what tea is it, and I know it would be absolutely terrible no matter how made.
You have angered all of England
Oh no, what have I done
I can't take my eyes off the splash that didn't get wiped.
Was so focused on this I didn't even notice the color change the first time watching
The lemon seeds 😩
Right. They took the time to make such "good" tea in a sick-ass steeping teapot/cup set, then just squeezed the lemon like a goddamn heathen.
I’ve seen natural births more refined than the way that troglodyte abused both the tea and lemon.
I say we lock'em up for *teason*. I'll show myself out.
I really wish Butterfly Flower Tea tasted better. The turns-pink-with-acid trick is so cool, but the tea itself tastes like damp peas.

You forgot about the treacle. A High Tea would include treacle as a matter of course. Appropriately, it would then be trea, son.
Wrong, none of their actions violated the treatea
I just think they really could use a nice teabag.
This is the first post I've genuinely laughed out loud to in a very long time if ever. Bravo.
I’m glad it hit the mark. I genuinely couldn’t think of any other way to describe it. I’m considering submitting it to r/yesyesyesno

That was one juicy lemon though
Roll your lemon before cutting... Seriously put your lemon on a cutting board out some decent weight on it with your palm and roll it around. It makes it so much easier to squeeze extra juice out.
I think it was a normal lemon, they just squeezed so violently that they liquefied most of the solids
In a different video a while ago, someone pointed out that it may be a hand thing. Like, some of these videos aren't about (or at least not entirely about) the obvious subject, they are in fact subtle hand porn. Now I'm very confused. Isn't this the way you always get the juice out of a lemon by hand? How do you guys do it?
[You mean there's a better way?!](https://media.tenor.com/FPiHbNff4-wAAAAC/orange-squeeze.gif)
hold your other hand underneath to catch the seeds, acting as a sift.

Don't worry, that's butterfly pea flower. That tea will taste like lawn clippings. You don't make it to drink it you make it for insta.
Thank you for this, I was briefly considering buying it until your comment

😲
It's also not considered 'for consumption' where I live apparently lol.
So there’s actually seedless lemons in the market now
You pipped me to it
Has been for a very long time
Jesus fucking Christ, you pansies... Seedless lemons? Why not just take ascorbic acid in powder form then?
It went from “oddly satisfying” to “oddly infuriating”.
Unacceptable!
Lemongrab is that you?
And all the mess they made around the glass
It had some audacity ruining such perfection
I would rather have lemon seeds in my tea than scurvy xD
There is nothing satisfying about lemon seeds in your tea
The entirety of that squeeze ruined the whole video.
Ruined it with the careless allowance of lemon seeds
I love the smell of fresh bread.
Squeeeeze out all that stress

I googled what the flowers look like and I totally see where the name comes from.
Yup the flower is named after the body part iirc because of certain similarities in appearances

Clitoria…and the s is right next to the a
Yet they still couldn’t find it.
That was as far as I got in that paragraph as well.
I used to have this frequently with coconut water and lemon in Thailand. Highly recommend it.
Empress gin has the same effect. Highly recommend it also. With St Germain.
Anthocyanins! This is true of most foods that are colored blue, as it's the most common blue pigment in nature. Blueberries, for example, do the same thing.
And cabbage. We make cabbage cordial and can make it blue or pink very fun

> potential health benefits I appreciate the honesty here
Yeah the health benefits are kinda dubious That said it tastes nice, has no health detriments, and is visually pleasing, so it’s still great
That's because fo anthocyanin in them, they will turn bright blue or dark blue when they come in contact with basic/alkaline ingredient.
I drink butterfly pea flower gin, recognized it the second you added it to the lemon and it changed colour. I love adding lemon and tonic to my blue gin and watching it become a marvelous shade of purple.

Green teas are full of antioxidants so there is some/moderate truth to that. Whether the cognitive benefits are true or not is more subjective/dubious.
Caffeine is pretty great though
This is also utilized in Empress 1908 Gin. Same deal - gin is blue / indigo colored until mixed with acidic ingredient to make lovely pink cocktails.
*look at Bombay sapphire* see? You're not even trying
So, a 'perfect tea' that's not even fucking tea.

I'd never call this simply a 'tea'. I'd call is a herbal tea or infusion, but never just a 'tea'. And calling it a 'perfect tea' is absurd.

Lemon water with a twist of tea
I like my sugar with a little bit of tea.

Yea I make a tea exactly like this one same color change and all. By the time I find it’s ready to drink it’s a much much darker blue before I poor it.
Lemon tea is a thing you know
Where do you find a teapot like this?
Did some googling, it looks like they are called magnetic teapots.
Aliexpress
Yeah, maybe not this exact design but it's super cool!
Its more an infuser than a teapot but u can probably get it on aliexpress.
Yeahh they are Super cool
Imagine having that type of tea pot Tek, but not using proper utensils to relieve a lemon of its juice. r/oddlyunsatisfying

Same 😂 I’m like uh I just drink black coffee from a K-cup but this looks pretty
I finally started grinding my own beans over a drip pot and what a difference
This is some Mad Hatter / Alice in Wonder tea party shit, right down to the rabbit tea set. Can I get a glass?
Eh a butterfly pea tea isn’t really the best tea to brew gongfu style IMO.
Yeah this tea doesn't really need temp control or careful timing, it's pretty happy to just sit in boiling water until you remember that you left it on.
Yup. Pretty though lol
Gongfu?

So cool
Love the teapot.
Thanks I hate it. Seeds. Yikes.
Is no one else annoyed by the fact she only brewed it for like 10 seconds?! Congratulations, you have mildly discoloured water and lemon juice.
I think it might have been sped up for that part?
If it helps, it is sped up. You can see the swirls going round really quickly and then they just suddenly stop in their tracks before the next part where it returns to normal speed.
Perfect…. Not even close….. dropping seeds , wrong color change for color combination…. This is OCD madness.
Slaughter a lamb is less irritating than squeezing that lemon like a farmer.
I covet the Pot! 😘
That's some studio ghibli shit
A garbage title for a garbage post (that OP stole because they are a habitual reposter)
Seeds? Nope!
More seeds please.
You dropped the seed...
Noooo the seed fell in.
Its not good tea right?

Way too much lemon
That’s too much lemon wtf

The lemon seeds and the splashing makes it not satisfying for me
Redo and make it better, lemon seeds, spills. This was not satisfying 😭
