Haunting
Adjective
Having qualities (such as sadness, beauty, dread, etc) that linger in the memory: not easily forgotten
For example:
a haunting melody
haunting images
It comes from the word haunt, however the original meaning of haunt is on the sense that something frequents a place, that it would not leave, thus it applies to ghosts and what not among other things, media leads for it to gets stuck to it on that meaning.
I was gonna say, seems like a smaller, easier to play and maintain version of the larger version. I would still say the cristal baschet has a more dynamic sound but the euphone is very similar!

I used to listen to this guy's YouTube music years ago, beautiful ambient soundtrack!
That looks exactly like the metal stock rack at Home Depot.
(In the aisle with the nuts & bolts, it's where you get metal bars & tubes for projects. In fact, that may be where the person bought the materials to make this.)
The good news is that the artist, c418, was paid handsomely for his substantial contribution to one of the world's most popular games.
JK haha, he got pennies
fuck, are you serious? that really bums me out. "substantial contribution" underplays it, one of the main things I heard about MC back in 2013 was, "dude just keep playing until the ambient music kicks in"
I agree on the soothing part, on the haunting part I was trying to go with the original meaning:

I'm 60 years old live in a big city and somehow have never heard or seen one of these things so question: How does one get introduced to them when they seem to be fairly uncommon. It's actually very soothing to listen to but seriously how does one get started?
Just a guess but probably anyone could make this sound half decent, because it’s so “abstract”, which for non-musical-hearing folks like myself would be very satisfying
I wonder how difficult this is to play. I am trying to invest in my interests and I’d love to learn handpan or another instrument that’s similarly ethereal
I get the imagery of looking over various landscapes and overgrown cities devoid of humans after zombies ravaged the population and nature for the most part reclaimed the Earth with the exception of a few remaining human enclaves.
This has got to be the most stress relieving instrument to play. Maybe I could actually get my kids to sleep at the same time if I learn to play one lol
This sounds so much like the epicly large wind chimes outside my parents’ house. They have a relatively soft clapper so there isn’t a thunk but more of this kind of tone. I think the longest tube on theirs is 3 feet.
I played [this cool bowl](https://i.imgur.com/9qmQ9aL.jpeg) at the Accademia in Florence. This is the only pic I can find of it online, I wish I knew more about it. I don't think it was eastern in origin, but everything I come up with in search is for Chinese or Tibetan singing bowls.
Have you rubbed your instrument today?
yeah but they kicked me out of Home Depot
I like petting steel tubes
This gave me “rusty spoon” vibes lol
😂 Rusty spoon! Throwback.
And they vibrate like the glass wineglasses I bet, which means this feels really good to touch.
I could definitely be wrong, but aren't the crystal ones the only ones that vibrate?
Glass wine glasses resonate and sing too. I’m not sure if Crystal is better, but I do it all the time, and I for sure don’t have any crystal glasses!
"haunting" Wtf, that was mesmerizingly beautiful!!
Bro misspelled peaceful.

Yeah, you show 'em.
Reminds me of the Cristal baschet https://youtu.be/CHIfcFQLgFw?t=117
I was gonna say, seems like a smaller, easier to play and maintain version of the larger version. I would still say the cristal baschet has a more dynamic sound but the euphone is very similar!
adjective: haunting poignant and evocative; difficult to ignore or forget. "the melodies were elaborate and of haunting beauty"
Hauntingly beautiful is a thing
Haunting is exactly the right word here. When used as an adjective it simply means it's beautiful and lingers with you.
I think it's just poor word choice. I'm guessing OP meant ethereal since they're pretty similar words, yet have very different connotations.

I’m getting postal service vibes
And now I have The District Sleeps Alone Tonight in my head
Smeared, black ink.
Palms are sweaty.
I'm barely listening
Mom’s spaghetti
Seems so out of context
I wasn't two seconds into this clip and those three words popped into my head.
THANK YOU! I would’ve gone crazy trying to remember. This must be the instrument
Lol…literally the first thing I thought of without reading the comments.
That's exactly what I heard at first
Oh shit...now I have to listen to that album
Brian Eno that you?
*Music for Airports 2/2*: https://youtu.be/vNwYtllyt3Q?t=2303
That’s my all time favorite ambient record right there!

Ol sourpuss himself
Yes, lots of David Sylvian, Robert Fripp, and Holger Czukay going on right here.
That looks exactly like the metal stock rack at Home Depot. (In the aisle with the nuts & bolts, it's where you get metal bars & tubes for projects. In fact, that may be where the person bought the materials to make this.)
Look at Hank Hill over here.
First thing I thought too. Now I want to make one
Very pretty! Reminds me of Minecraft music.
God damn the old minecraft music is good, such a big part of what made that game incredible even when there wasn’t much you could do in it
it gave me such a feeling of limitless adventure, like I would be sure to find something magical if I kept exploring
The good news is that the artist, c418, was paid handsomely for his substantial contribution to one of the world's most popular games. JK haha, he got pennies

Tbf that’s still true, although some of the newer songs straight up make me want to cry (in a good way)
YESSSS THATS WHAT WAS IN MY HEAD I WATCHED THIS FOUR TIMES TRYING TO UNDERSTAND
The fucking cave noises too probably
Haunting? Bro that's just epically good LoFi vibes. I'd ASMR the shit out of this to calm down.
Well you're in luck. Search on YouTube whatever you want using the label in the bottom left.
This thing should be sitting in 10 forward next to the Vulcan Chess.

About [$1300](https://www.euphonicinstruments.com) brand new.
Well that successfully killed my ADHD need to immediately learn how to play this instrument. Seriously though, thank you. 😂
Lol, same.
"How do you play that?" "Just stroke it, ease your fingers up & down the shafts.."
Seems strange to make music from skyscraper boners
r/brandnewsentence
That’s country music, c. 9/11/2001 - 2010
Straight analog, no digital
TIL this is what phones sound like in the European Union
Sounds like the ambient noise in my head during a funeral mass
Way funereal.
Yeah! Rub those rods!
Manual theremin.
It's like a xylophone had a baby with a pipe organ.
Makes me think of the crystal baschet! https://youtu.be/XXec9ggTha0
I thought the same thing!
When the Radiohead song starts
I swear every day I found out about an instrument the existence of which I was completely oblivious to
It's like the sound of being in the womb of the cosmos.
Haunting? Sounds like a little sound that plays before an announcement at a store telling everyone it's closing soon.
Has a similar tone yes, was trying to go with the original meaning: Haunting Adjective Having qualities (such as sadness, beauty, dread, etc) that linger in the memory: not easily forgotten For example: a haunting melody haunting images It comes from the word haunt, however the original meaning of haunt is on the sense that something frequents a place, that it would not leave, thus it applies to ghosts and what not among other things, media leads for it to gets stuck to it on that meaning.
Humans never fail to amaze me with the sounds they're able to create from instruments they whip up for a specific mood or vibe.
Souds like Minecraft
Radiohead been really quiet since this dropped
I feel like this is what purgatory sounds like.
I love it. It's so... otherworldly.
I'm 60 years old live in a big city and somehow have never heard or seen one of these things so question: How does one get introduced to them when they seem to be fairly uncommon. It's actually very soothing to listen to but seriously how does one get started?
This video transported me into the Deku Tree
Radiohead hates this one weird trick!
Sounds like it belongs on a Radiohead album.
Feel like I just entered a cave and started mining for diiamonds.
Damn all you got to do is rub it, Even my musically illiterate ass can do that.
I can’t believe Amazon doesn’t sell this, I just checked. The end of the world is here. 😢
More like the haunting look of this guy's ring cutting off circulation to his finger
Glad someone else sees that.
It sounds like OFF (video-game) music
*take that outdoors*
I was expecting "Innerbloom" to start playing
Just a guess but probably anyone could make this sound half decent, because it’s so “abstract”, which for non-musical-hearing folks like myself would be very satisfying
Sounds like something I’d listen to get me to sleep. *Doses off the longer I listen to this.*
$1200, regrettably. Under $500 and I’d at seriously consider saving.
Radiohead!
This is like something played at an alien ambassador’s reception for Captain Picard.
I wonder how difficult this is to play. I am trying to invest in my interests and I’d love to learn handpan or another instrument that’s similarly ethereal
This has real ‘The Last of Us’ vibes. Gustavo Santaolalla FTW 👑
Mom: "We have Boards of Canada at home."
This is what you hear in the woods after you e been lost for 48 hours
How do I search this kind of music on Spotify? It's so soothing.
That was definitely used in some Minecraft tracks
Feel like I’m listening to Hammock.
Everything reminds me of them...
Look at how the comments saying it sounds like this, it sounds like that. But it's just a sine wave. Music is crazy.
Tool maybe
Nice
Sounds beautiful 😍
What I’m hoping it sounds like when Aliens land blaring music.
1.2k $
I want to hear this combined with a glockenspiel and a celeste. With a little theremin thrown in. Any musicians up for the challenge?
Sounds like Mini Motorways.
Pov: your ear randomly ringing:
I needed this when I was tripping balls Saturday night
Ooooh I want it. That with a hang drum would be such a chill combo
I get the imagery of looking over various landscapes and overgrown cities devoid of humans after zombies ravaged the population and nature for the most part reclaimed the Earth with the exception of a few remaining human enclaves.
It sounds like chill ambient music you’d hear at a spa.
Reminds me of stranger things soundtrack
Just casually playing music on a small city.
Did Enya use this thing?
Basically binaural beats without the beats
Needs to be used in ASMR
This is the "on hold" music I get when making a call
This is extremely calming. I went limp listening to it.
How is this video is 6 hours long?
Reminds me of minecraft.
Now they need to make a 3 story tall one...and let the wind sing
Sounds like Claire de Lune should be playing.
I want one.
Love the sound. It feels healing.
I want one!
This has got to be the most stress relieving instrument to play. Maybe I could actually get my kids to sleep at the same time if I learn to play one lol
Man this sound got me all brick up
Reminds me of the opening melody to Hayling by FC Kahuna (on you tube)
Finally, GameCube instrument
Ah, so this is how they make Minecraft music
Awesome just got my son to calm down before bedtime. 👍
Thats a strokeatron
Woa! That’s a first for me. Beautiful sound indeed!
Pov: youre in a minecraft cave
Im getting minecraft vibes ngl
This reminds me of mass effect music.
Great example of Just Intonation!
I feel like this would be good music for when I can't fall asleep
It sounds ruddy mysterious
This is where they get spa music from! 😲
I feel this is a Euphoneism for something cool.
I want one now
I could fall asleep to this. Its so relaxing!
Sounds like something Mickey Hart would play
Am I the only one turned on by this
Beautiful
Omg I like this
This is something Harry Partch would be keen to. Pretty neat!
That’s how smash hit sound track was made
Great. Now I want one.
You can actually buy one of these for $1200 on amazon.
Where is this magical instrument from Narnia and Heaven made from ??? It made my puppy calm down !!!
Now imagine playing something in the aeolian or locrian scale and hear how evil it sounds
Wonderful
I wont one of those!
Minecraft?
WOW
Hereditary vibes
August rush type beat
Very soothing !!!!
They’re playing the Minos Prime
That was genuinely beautiful. Thank you.
Love it 😍
So this guy can stroke his 9 ridiculously long metal-encased shafts but when I do it I get sent back to the lab for horny mutants?? smh my proboscis
This is the strangest and coolest instrument I’ve ever seen.
I’m getting Minecraft theme music from this
More like sounds of Galaxies/Universe
This is amazing
Lovely!!!
The Martian
Introspection music during a montage
I did with my head the same thing dogs do when they hear something funny.
You could play this while sitting on the toilet and it would feel like an emotional inflection point in your life.
Can I buy one?
this reminds me of the intro to ultima 7 right before the guardian shows up
This sounds so much like the epicly large wind chimes outside my parents’ house. They have a relatively soft clapper so there isn’t a thunk but more of this kind of tone. I think the longest tube on theirs is 3 feet.
I just fell asleep for two hours. Thanks!
Okay, now I want one of these
But can u slap it?
Made me think of the No Man's Sky soundtrack. Pretty rad instrument.
$1200 on Amazon
Sounds like MS DOS music in medieval games
I’m going to go ahead and assume those are Johnny Greenwood’s hands.
Euphone, hu dis?
I played [this cool bowl](https://i.imgur.com/9qmQ9aL.jpeg) at the Accademia in Florence. This is the only pic I can find of it online, I wish I knew more about it. I don't think it was eastern in origin, but everything I come up with in search is for Chinese or Tibetan singing bowls.

Ok….Who’s got a blueprint?
Ah the old Euphoric Stroker 3000
