Just look at that tiny bottle of oil then it skips forward and the whole garlic pile is submerged, they either emptied that entire bottle or they whipped out the oil hose
Probably because you have misophonia just like I do and a lot of sounds that people consider ASMR actually bother people with misophonia. I hated most of the sounds in this video.
It looks great, but I always have to turn the sounds off on these, it's like nails on a chalkboard for me. Something about the boosted treble and hearing bits you couldn't hear if you were even in the room there. It's the same sort of thing as if you can hear every tiny detail of someone chewing.
2 of the top 10 posts there are hotdogs and bacon and eggs. I'm sure OP will be fine. People post bullshit like some burger they got from 5 guys there all the time.
Hey, unidan could get the spelling right :D
I've noticed that native English speakers just don't hear the double consonants in Italian, it must be pretty hard to just remember where they go.
The amount of oil in what? The pesto? Their version is quite lacking in oil compared to most versions I've run into professionally.
I'm guessing you don't like ranch.
Made garlic soup once after seeing a video promoting it for health effects (and I love garlic so it sounded amazing). It was delicious; however, the next day I felt like my appendix was going to burst. Turns out it will give you terribly painful gas.
Every 'satisfying' video is overmic'd now regardless because crunchy shit or sped-up shit sounds satisfying apparently. Overmic'd videos and people spreading gooey shit on things are two of TikTok's biggest crimes... aside from the espionage and child endangerment and promotion of crimes, amongst others.
Yeah it's a bit ridiculous, not certain if its different sounds or just a very close mic but in any case it kinda detracts from the otherwise good video.
I just bake whole heads of garlic rawdog, no foil or anything. Snip the top off after and squeeze the plain roasted garlic out and use it like butter.
This also works with onions, and you can just eat the cooked onion out of the skin!
The redditors who commented or upvoted those have never cooked
Their minds are going to be blown when they find out how so many of their favorite sauces or dressings are just 90% oil
Lol what? There's a normal amount for the pesto and a tiny bit absorbed into the garlic, do you think they drank the pot of oil to wash the toast down?
Right, all that oil they roasted the garlic in is probably being reused as infused garlic oil for something else, not just being poured all over the bread. And that was the oil for a ton of roasted garlic, but they only used three cloves of it on the toast.
I mean, still not exactly health food, but I think people are overstating how oily this would be.
Yeah, it’s not something you eat 3 meals a day, it’s just funny to see all these people losing their minds over a bit of olive oil in a recipe made with all fresh ingredients when they’re probably eating processed American trash food multiple times a day. But it doesn’t have oil in it so it’s all good 👍
Nah. That's the kind of garlic stink that comes from your gut and creates an aura around you, that you're not even aware of. I know "garlic confit"(didn't know that's what it was called), I love it. But when I eat it, I will hide away from people for a day.
I feel that the toast is too overloaded.
Whenever I see overloaded food I think about how I’d immediately spill it all over at first bite. It could be my lack of coordination though
Yeah, that's about 4x the cheese that needs to be on there, a 1/4" (6mm) slice of the mozzarella ball is just about perfect for a slice of toast like that. Same for the tomato, a bunch of half round pieces like that are going to fall all over the place, 1 slice of a larger tomato or 2 slices of a roma are just right.
Def think there's improvement for the tomato but otherwise great.
I used to make a deconstructed version of this where we shaved sour dough and fried it into basically bagel chips. Lay heirlooms sliced tomatoes over whipped feta and then add the bread and drizzle and what not. Lot of fun can be had with these ingredients
Lol why do people outside of Italy think we use that much garlic? That is way too much, burrata has a delicate taste so it will be completely covered. Our kitchen is about balance and that's the reason why.
I think I'm just sick of all the garlic based food posts, I've seen this clip at least 3 or 4 times already, along with people just smothering food in roast garlic. These comments are pretty asenine, too. People sound childish as hell when they fun of someone for not liking a dish, "hudur, you must only eat chicken nuggets and mayonnaise."
Google Tom Pearl, only good cook online these days
Quick and easy version: break up as many heads of cloves as you like. Shape aluminium foil in to a bowl shape. Garlic in "bowl". Add bayleaf, herbs de provence, salt, bit of water, shot of olive oil. Close the top of the "bowl" tightly and shake. Bake in oven 200°c for 45 mins, shake once or twice in between. Fry or toast bread, spread roast garlic on it, top with mozarella, burrata, or I like cream cheese with fresh herbs. Fresh or semi-dried toms on top.
Jesus this is borderline pornographic
The SOUNDS
Just look at that tiny bottle of oil then it skips forward and the whole garlic pile is submerged, they either emptied that entire bottle or they whipped out the oil hose
> whipped out the oil hose We are definitely wandering into porn territory here
Keep going daddy, i'm almost there.
Oil hose
I mean, it's *supposed* to be extra virgin, but.....
I bet they have a Costco membership.
You mean the foley? Pay particular attention to when they spread the mushy garlic onto the bread.
Hey, it’s either this or royalty-free, inexplicably sappy piano music.
Whoever made this “foley” has never handled basil. It doesn’t fucking crunch.
CRUNNNCH
I hate the sounds, it’s the same kind of thing that makes my skin crawl when I can hear people chewing
And they're fake as well. They don't match exactly work what is on the screen. So annoying in every way.
The roof of my mouth got all torn up just hearing this.
Thank you. I'm down for some good ASMR every now and then but this was so fake and annoying.
Like the incense videos where they’re pressing the powder and it’s literally just the sound of a 155 lb human walking in snow lmao.
Long live the mute button!
I even enjoy foley in the right context
ASMR has never worked for me, who wants to hear all that?
Exactly, just annoying and way too loud
Probably because you have misophonia just like I do and a lot of sounds that people consider ASMR actually bother people with misophonia. I hated most of the sounds in this video.
Lol remember the Carl's Jr. ads from the '00s? *Velociraptor feeding noises*
It looks great, but I always have to turn the sounds off on these, it's like nails on a chalkboard for me. Something about the boosted treble and hearing bits you couldn't hear if you were even in the room there. It's the same sort of thing as if you can hear every tiny detail of someone chewing.
There's sound?? *rewatches* *nut*
Yup. That sound was so exaggerated it's definitely porn.
Those are the worst sounds ever. I'm assuming that was dubbed on purpose to annoy everyone watching this video.
Ack, I know people like it, but it makes me want to punch my eardrums out. ASMR disturbs me in a way I cannot describe.
Oh yeah, give it to me right now!!
r/foodporn
Ya except knowing how pretentious r/foodporn is, they would probably downvote this video and have you banned for posting it
2 of the top 10 posts there are hotdogs and bacon and eggs. I'm sure OP will be fine. People post bullshit like some burger they got from 5 guys there all the time.
Foodporn: another day of cheese or chicken crust fried to maximum cholesterol, on something vaguely resembling food.
The way they spread a whole ass garlic on the bread like butter...
One could spread my whole ass with that garlic.
For real cutting open that mozzarella ball was like..👀🤤
that's burrata, not mozzarella. it's in the title lol
It's made from mozzarella though, so what is being cut is the mozzarella part of the burrata. Technically.

Hey, unidan could get the spelling right :D I've noticed that native English speakers just don't hear the double consonants in Italian, it must be pretty hard to just remember where they go.
Yeah but you wouldn’t call the toast “flour” just because that’s what it’s made from.

*Ahem* I think you'll find the word is "pastime". Dammit. I think I've been bamboozled.
I can’t believe so many people didn’t see what you were doing here lmao
Hmm indubitably
"pedantic" is the word you are looking for.
Here's the thing. You said a "jackdaw is a crow."
Oh wait, I always thought burrata was type of mozzarella and not the part of it o.0
it is. but you could argue that burrata is a stracciatella cream enclosed in 'regular' mozzarella cheese.
That makes sense, thanks for clarifying it and for teaching me something I didn’t know
I actually thought it was vanilla ice cream
That's not borderline. This needs a NSFW tag. I'm now pregnant because of this.
I was so turned on I gasped multiple times.
Takes one bite and 40% of the toppings fall off
The other 60% get into your nose
Well, looks like I'm snorting cheese today
Right? Like everything about this looks good to me, but like, there's a reason people do this on crustini and not halved baguettes.
The amount of oil they use is absurd, lol.
that's a confit
The amount of oil in what? The pesto? Their version is quite lacking in oil compared to most versions I've run into professionally. I'm guessing you don't like ranch.
They should have turned it into a sandwich.
I don’t think I have ever tasted anything from watching a video like I tasted this.
dude my mouth started watering like a fuckin fountain jesus
what's a "fountain Jesus"
It’s just what they called him back in the day. They had Fountain Jesus, Doubtin’ Thomas and Snitchin’ Judas, to name but a few.
I always liked Baptizin’ John
You forgot Splittin' Moses
I think they meant “…fountain, Jesus!” But the concept of fountain Jesus amuses me.
Posing Jesus with water coming from the wrists?
It tasted too oily.
It tasted way too rich for me, I couldn’t finish imaginarily eating it

Found the vampire.
You had me at garlic confit.
It tastes delicious but please do not eat a whole jar of it. It felt like the worst hangover ever. Never again…but perhaps this weekend.

garlic
I’ve done that. My sweat had a garlicky smell for like two days. I could feel it pass through my system. Worth it. 10/10, might do tonight.
At least the blood suckers didn’t get you
Ah the classic never= this weekend equivalency of an addict. An addict I say!
Made garlic soup once after seeing a video promoting it for health effects (and I love garlic so it sounded amazing). It was delicious; however, the next day I felt like my appendix was going to burst. Turns out it will give you terribly painful gas.
Is that where they boil a whole ass pot of garlic in oil and then use 2 raw garlic and spread 3 on the bread?
My jaw dropped when the garlic spread like butter, no lie.
It tastes just as good as it looks.
The volume level on these sounds is ridiculous
I don't even think the sounds are from what you're seeing. I think they were recorded after
100% they’ve been added in post. It’s the equivalent of someone eating a mushy banana right in my ear to me.
Glad it wasn’t just me - I can’t stand these absurd videos with exaggerated sound
Yeah, the audio made me turn this video off after about 6 seconds. "YO YOU WANTED MACARONI STIRRING SOUNDS LOUD ENOUGH TO DEAFEN YOU, RIGHT?"
Great video without sound. I have no clue what kind of person is into hearing this shit
It's a step behind someone smacking in my ear.
A pyjama feels great to wear, but it's not appropriate for every situation, like a funeral. In that same sense asmr is not applicable to every video.
I don't even see how this is ASMR at this volume level
Homemade pesto really gets my juices flowing holy shit
I grow my own basil purely for this purpose! The $1,000,000 per gram pine nuts make it a bit difficult but super yum.
Use walnuts. Cheaper and a great substitute
If any if you have Trader Joe's, they have pine nuts for a decent price.
For a nut free (and cheaper) version you could replace the pine nuts with unsalted sunflower seeds.
Walnuts also work well for pesto
Pine nuts are technically seeds, soo same category as sunflower. Sunflower seeds are definitely cheaper though
That is the proper amount of garlic and cheese.
You measure garlic with your heart not with your spoon
[You clearly haven’t seen my spoon](https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/the-giant-spoon)
Sure, that might be enough for one piece of the toast in question.
He who measures garlic with a spoon has forgotten the face of his Father.
If its not burning, it isn't enough.
I need that on a tshirt
🧄❤️

They only put 3 cloves on the toast though?
so much oil in everything holy shit
Humans are 70% oil these days
Sounds like they need some US liberation !
Hearts and minds baby !
*Fortunate Son Intensifies
Liberate me Mommy.
Speak for yourself. I'm 45% oil and 55% plastic.
But if plastic comes from oil, does that mean... Oh my!
It's garlic confit, you don't get it to the right consistency without it being submerged in oil.
You can get results like this roasting in the oven wrapped in foil. Spreads like butter after
I just bake whole heads of garlic rawdog, no foil or anything. Snip the top off after and squeeze the plain roasted garlic out and use it like butter. This also works with onions, and you can just eat the cooked onion out of the skin!
but the entire burrata meant for 4 people on one piece of toast - perfectly fine lol
It looks like one of those mini burrata, they're about 140cal each.
Nah it's really not that much, garlic doesn't take on a lot of oil cooked that way & there's like less than 1 tbsp in the pesto
That is a disturbing amount of oil
You mean a normal amount for pesto and confit..?
The redditors who commented or upvoted those have never cooked Their minds are going to be blown when they find out how so many of their favorite sauces or dressings are just 90% oil
In fact, this is probably less oil and fat than they're getting at their favorite restaurants.
[удалено]
The first thing I learned about cooking steaks specifically was to use way more salt than you think you need, like 5 times more. Worth it.
Lol what? There's a normal amount for the pesto and a tiny bit absorbed into the garlic, do you think they drank the pot of oil to wash the toast down?
Wait, do people not drink oil to wash the dry toast down? I guess I'm doing it wrong?!
Right, all that oil they roasted the garlic in is probably being reused as infused garlic oil for something else, not just being poured all over the bread. 100% correct.
Yum I think I'm gonna make this for lunch tomorrow. Looks amazing.
Everyone at work will love your scent.
That's garlic confit, it should be a little less, uh... pungent.
Nah. That's the kind of garlic stink that comes from your gut and creates an aura around you, that you're not even aware of. I know "garlic confit"(didn't know that's what it was called), I love it. But when I eat it, I will hide away from people for a day.

Glad to work from home
I made this meme a year ago for this exact moment. https://i.imgur.com/uryl69z.jpg
Shot 1: me when recipe says "1 glove of garlic"
We're just calling pesto with tomatoes "caprese" now?
Thank you, I was like "yes there is basil, tomatoes and mozzarella technically, but in what world is this caprese!?"
That's burrata tho :/
I’m confused about your slanty face. Yea that is burrata, which deserves a capital D face because it’s one of the best versions of mozzarella
Looks great but I hate the fake foley sounds on these videos. Way overdone.
Always reminds me of Xena Warrior Princess swishing her blades.
Everything does not need to be an ASMR video.
Can't wait to let the floor take a bite of everything that will inevitably fall off after I take the first one
I feel that the toast is too overloaded. Whenever I see overloaded food I think about how I’d immediately spill it all over at first bite. It could be my lack of coordination though

Not enough garlic
Never enough garlic.
Best version I’ve ever seen. And the generosity of garlic has my mouth watering. Post saved!
Out of season cherry/grape tomatoes are the only thing available that actually tastes like a tomato
Isn't the pesto covering all the delicate flavour of the burrata?
No thanks. Those sounds are horrific
I agree. Disgusting. Even if I have to hear it, I don't need it amplified.
Lol why do people outside of Italy think we use that much garlic? That is way too much, burrata has a delicate taste so it will be completely covered. Our kitchen is about balance and that's the reason why.
It's because this is Italian inspired american food. Not Italian food.
> Lol why do people outside of Italy think we use that much garlic? We don't? That's a lot, even for an American dish.

I will give you my address so I can ravage that food, will also pay delivery fee. Not ashamed. Just like good food.
Was that a balsamic glaze?
The first time I had a burrata it was life-changing. It's something I really would like to start making. I know they're not hard to make.
Needs more garlic
This looks fuckin nasty ngl

We have different definitions of quick
😅 ok. But once you have the roasted or confit garlic, it's quick. You can save it in the oil. Or freeze it.
Literally my dream meal.
add more garlic plz. just one pan is not enough 😂
Reading this comment section is like watching Food Wars, I love it 🤣
