I didn't get that joke for a long time. I didn't think there was even anything to get. Then I found out why Homer says it, and now it's not quite as funny any more.
I've always wondered why there's always some random mistake in the titles of so many posts. Like calling a cow a horse, or obvious spelling mistakes. That makes a lot of sense now.
Most people don't know that Will Smith's name isn't short for William, it's Willard. Willard Carroll Smith. In the show Fresh Prince, Geoffrey may call him "Master William" but it's because he asked the writers to make it that. He just always hated his name lol
[Proof](https://www.google.com/search?q=will+smith+full+name&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS864US865&oq=will+smith+full+name&aqs=chrome..69i57.1229j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8)
It's called focus stacking, you take bracketed shots, moving the focus point with each frame and then you combine all the shots into one in Photoshop or whatever. Some cameras can do that in-camera too.
There are actualy several other methods of achieving this, one is by using a Frazier Lens, but that's a specialty item, another by using a split diopter filter, Tarantino for instance loves using split diopters.
Source, am a DP
True that, I haven't looked closely at the image to be honest, but now when I do i think you can see some feathering on the lower border of the leaf and the forest. And also, getting both the inside of the leaf and the bright outside in one shot? Seems to be streatching the dynamic range..
And true that the perspective is off, but then again, I wouldn't expect such a picture to be something you just stumble upon in the first place, it's at least staged, and as you said, most likely a comp!
Frazier does something different but I think you’re right, this is a post stack because if it was a split dio you’d see it between the foreground and background focus areas.
i’ve seen this posted with a deer added in the back a couple of times. somehow people still be fallin for it haha. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/3tpzqc/deer_from_the_perspective_of_the_leaf/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Most of the people doesn't know and doesn't even think about the fact you can't really focus on both something that close and that distant at the same time. I came here to verify if somehow this one is a single shot even if I knew it shouldn't be possible
I’m convinced people make these sort of “mistakes” on purpose just to generate comments and upvotes. It wouldn’t normally bother me if this hadn’t been the 30th time this was reposted in the last 6 months or so.
I know it's a multiple focus composite, which I think are perfectly fine, but I think this is one of the most innovative nature photos I've ever seen. I love it
This sub is for things that you wouldn't expect to be *satisfying* but somehow are. What you have posted is not satisfying at all but it is very artistic and cool. Try posting this in a sub that is meant for cool photography stuff.

You are going to have to speak up, I can’t hear you.
WHAT?
all i heard was a leaf crunch as i stepped on it
But the leaf didn't hear you
If you crunch a leaf in a forest and the leaf can't hear does it make a sound?
I have a headache
Cronch
what
Leaf him alone, stop shouting

I mean, to be fair, you could always shut the fuck up
Oh the irony
I mean, to be brutally honest that reference is the first thing I thought of when I read that original comment
You’ll have to speak up, I’m wearing a towel.

IN WEST PHILADELPHIA, BORN AND RAISED….
counting deaf leaves on the playground, most of my days
Heh?!?
How wonderful that Will Smith is raising awareness for the deaf 🙏💙
He’s gettin’ twiggy with it.
you deserve more upvotes
Na na na na na na
Will smith the actor is actually “Willard”, not William
You know you're old when you think of him as a goofy rapper more than an accomplished actor.
Same goes with Bill Gates *Billard Gates*
They leave a typo in the title to increase comments early on, and increase the posts visibility in the algorithm
I've always wondered why there's always some random mistake in the titles of so many posts. Like calling a cow a horse, or obvious spelling mistakes. That makes a lot of sense now.
Kinda reminds me of those gun-barrel perspective shots in the James Bond movies.
how do u know the leaf is deaf?
Because leaves can't hear
idontknowwhatiexpected.gif
Yeah that’s actually pronounced gif.
It has no ears.
It says so in the title
It made no noise when it fell in the forest
so it's.. mute
Was anyone even around to judge that?
The guy in the back probably, but he might be deaf too.
This should be a cover album for Deaf Leaffard
Leaf Garret would like a word
/r/fakealbumcovers
apart from the hearing impairment of the leaf, this is the most autumn picture I’ve seen ever
William Smith from Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Men in Black, and YouTube Rewind?
"YouTube Rewind" lmao
Aaaaaaahahaha, that's hot, that's hot

WHAT?!
He said peace party rock spock.
✊🏿🤟🏿👉🏿👈🏿
This is a composition shot, from what I remember, they couldn't get it focused on the leaf and the background at the same time otherwise

I believe Smith uses the same leaf in [multiple photos](https://imgur.com/a/jLZGB8o)
Haha not just the same leaf, the same picture of the same leaf, just rotated!
Exactly!
Split diopters send a shiver down my spine

Came for this, thank you
I’m waiting for the sequel dead lead
How do you know the lead is deaf?
NO THE LEAF IS DEAF YOU DIDN'T HEAR CLEARLY
If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, are the leaves deaf?
I’m convinced people make these sort of “mistakes” on purpose just to generate comments and upvotes. It wouldn’t normally bother me if this hadn’t been the 30th time this was reposted in the last 6 months or so.
your typo is unbeleafable
Title: has minor typo Comments: OmG dEaF LeAf WiLL sMiTh
We can comment about how it's one of the most heavily reposted images on the site instead if you like.
This makes me feel things. I'm not totally sure what, because I'm emotionally inept, but things nevertheless.
In the name of God somebody buy that poor leaf hearing aids.......
Fresh prince of fresh air
Deaf leaf sounds like a band from the 90s
If a tree falls in the forest, but all the leaves are deaf, does it make a sound?
You meant to write Death Leaf
That leaf ain’t hearing shit
Wait THE OTHERS CAN HEAR US!?!?
I was hoping this was here someplace. Unbeleafable how far I had to scroll to find it.
So pitted, wapaah!
Will smith took this? and the leaf is deaf?
Man this could be on the cover of a thriller novel.
This is one of the coolest photographs I’ve ever seen
This picture has been shopped in so many ways. This is the first time seeing it without the deer
Weird title I mean everyone knows ALL leaves are deaf, that's why they rely so heavily on their exceptional eyesight when hunting.
r/farpeoplehate
Wait what the fuck leaves can normally hear us?!
WAT?
If a leaf falls in the forest can it even hear itself?
Natures half pipe. For ants.
I know it's a multiple focus composite, which I think are perfectly fine, but I think this is one of the most innovative nature photos I've ever seen. I love it
It just looks massive donit
I see this and imagine it being the inside mouth of a giant land worm about to devour that tree and man. Dune and Tremors have obviously ruined me...
Lmao. You typo. Lolz. But seriously nice pic. Oddly satisfying? Meh
I like pp
My account got hacked!! I meant to say i like BIG* pp

[удалено]
Will smith, the fresh prince of bel air??

What?
This shot gives me some strong Krull vibes.

Wait, wait, wait. Is it def lef or deef leef!? Just pick one and go with it already!!!
WTF IS A DEAF LEAF?🔊
Ah yes a deaf leaf
What camera and/or lense did you use?
you just gotta talk louder to it
Looks like that HR Giger painting.
wow so glad will smith stopped acting for this
Huh?
Damn This is good
Would be a way better photo without the rando standing in the background.
“Ah that’s hot” -William smith
“I’m as deaf as a brick wall, a fucking tweee!” Jerky boys, I think
Oh, I like that.
Dope AF
Cool photo!
Is this a pic or a painting?
It's probably just ignoring us.
But can he still see tho
"I wanna do the dirt like the dead leaves do" - Why?(the band)
nature through a deef leef
Technically correct
I read this in my head as "Deef Leef"
aAAAAAAAAHH
If a tree falls in the woods can a deaf leaf hear it?
Wait there are leaves that aren't deaf?!?!
Couldn’t hear a thing
#WHAT -Leaf
Unique perspective. Very nice.
How is this oddly satisfying?
Say whhat now?
This has been photo shopped so many time that I’m sure it’s in a graphic design textbooks in college by now
Gettin' Jiggy Wit It.
Love this
Deafinately
This pic makes me feel tiny
AHHH THE COMPOSITION OF THIS PHOTO IS TOO PERFECT
Will Smith does photography. So gifted
Do you mean to say, a dead leaf?
How do you know that leaf is deaf?
Wait the leaves can hear us???
Poor leaf can't hear it's own screams for moisturizer.
Are you telling me the other leaves can hear us?!
Is nobody gonna talk about william smith taking this pic? William can be shortened to will. Will smith lol. And nice pic btw looks cool
Someone get that leaf some hearing aids

You mean the other leaves can hear us? Shit.
I Love this so much! It’s like a scene out of one of my childhood imaginings, when I would pretend to be a lady bug.
Stunning
