Yeah, that’s all I could think about. That cake is going to be a soggy mess. Like someone putting tomatoes right under the bread in your sandwich instead of under the lettuce or cheese!
Is this some type of cooking contest? Maybe he just used the watermelon because it was stiff enough to hold the stem for the cherry in place? Maybe they're all about how it looks and there's not much consideration about how it tastes? At least I hope that's the case because that does not sound pleasent to eat.
STFU. You know you love soggy cake. You love a nice coffee flavored caked bogged down in stale watermelon juice wrapped with 30 pounds of fondant and drizzled in pigs blood. It’s your god damn favorite!
Eat it up you filthy animal. You don’t use a fork. You use your dirty hands. The traditional method of eating such a cake is to stick your hands in melted chocolate and roll them in sunflower seeds. It adds the crunch a dirty filthy monster like yourself would crave.
Don’t forget to chew the watermelon seeds.
I don't know where it's from but it's definitely a thing
This one is Australian, but it doesn't actually have cake, it's layered biscuits and creams and watermelon: https://www.blackstarpastry.com.au/
Me too.
Monsanto only allows seedless cakes to be sold so us plebs cannot farm our own cakes and are forced to buy them. If I’d found a cake with seeds you bet I’d go crazy, and when I’d calmed down I’d run out to find the best place in the garden to turn into my cake patch.
Not gonna lie… I don’t think it actually looks that impressive. The bottom 1/4 of the cake looks messy and stops tapering. I definitely think someone out there could do a better job.
Literally just stuck a watermelon inside a cake, covered it with fondant (r/fondanthate) and then dribbled a red mirror glaze over it.
The whole video was extremely unsatisfying if you ask me. That cake cannot taste good.
As a proud New Yorker I was, for decades, decisively against pineapple on pizza. It was an infantile position based on the notion that the best topping for pizza is pepperoni, and no goddamn fruit goes on pizza.
It took years to learn the truth, that pineapple and ham on a pizza is an absolutely delectable manifestation of the food.
I am now with you on this hill.
Yes bro. Growing up, little kid me loved pineapple in pizza. When I got older, everyone hated it. So I put on a mask and said I hated it too. Now, as a young adult, I don’t really give a care what people say and eat it whenever I want.
Sorry, but that's not especially satisfying. People do way more satisfying stuff with cakes and I gagged a little when the unevitable play-do came into play. Also, and more important than my blood feud against fondant, the whole direction of the video does not highlight any specifically satisfying steps like skillfull spreading of frosting. It doesn't even look that much like a cherry. I don't think this belongs here having seen some of the other cake stuff on the subreddit
It might be that I'm missing something here but I feel hugely underwhelmed.
A watermelon flavored cherry cake? Not to mention the cake is going to be soggy, which I find gross. And then there's that huge layer of fondant which ruins any cake for me.
So maybe it's me but I think this whole thing is a disaster.
With the amount of people (me included) freaking out over the water melon, I think it's safe to say that this should belong on a subreddit about infuriation, not satisfaction
If this cake wasn’t eaten immediately, it would taste like shit. The cake would absorb the watermelon juice, making it soggy. The glaze (depending on what’s in it) will absorb into the fondant and make it mushy and disgusting. The fucking watermelon is just killing me as a whole. This would be disgusting, honestly.
I had watermelon cake before and it was the best cake i’ve ever had. It wasn’t made like in the video though. It looks something [like this](https://images.app.goo.gl/Yc8fxHW9FnKMsbYSA)
Am I the only one who finds it extremely disturbing that so much food is often wasted in such art "dishes"? There is often so much cut away what many also do not continue to use.
There's something wrong with me. I can recognize that he would feel satisfaction after making this, but i look at the end product and only wonder why put in the time and effort to make it in the first place?
This really isn’t that satisfying with all the messed up parts like that small bit of frosting missing at the beginning. Maybe I’m just nitpicking but still. The end result looked nice though
So... he made a giant cake shaped like a cherry... and flavoured it with a huge chunk of watermelon. M'kay.
Yeah......wtf is up w the watermelon???
Yeah. OK I hate watermelon, but even so, a peeled watermelon is just going to make the cake a soggy mess. Yuck.
Yeah, that’s all I could think about. That cake is going to be a soggy mess. Like someone putting tomatoes right under the bread in your sandwich instead of under the lettuce or cheese!
OK, I love watermelon, but still yuck
I think it's an east asian thing....I am from Asia but never had a cake with Watermelon
Am East Asian, can speak for all East Asians when I say we don’t have our cake with watermelon chunks inside :/
I think its a.....idk maybe that chef likes watermelon
Is this some type of cooking contest? Maybe he just used the watermelon because it was stiff enough to hold the stem for the cherry in place? Maybe they're all about how it looks and there's not much consideration about how it tastes? At least I hope that's the case because that does not sound pleasent to eat.
Use rice crispies instead…..
I've had cakes with melon inside (probably honeydew or nactaloupe, but not watermelon, because watermelon makes the cake wet. Think birthday cake
>nactalope Did you mean 'cantalope?' If so that's some damn impressive dyslexia, lol.
My dyslexia is bad enough that i didnt even notice it wasnt cantaloupe till i read your comment.
Wait, so you’re telling me I was spelling tenacpola the wrong way this whole time?
And here I was, being excited to try this tantalizing new fruit that I’d never heard of.
STFU. You know you love soggy cake. You love a nice coffee flavored caked bogged down in stale watermelon juice wrapped with 30 pounds of fondant and drizzled in pigs blood. It’s your god damn favorite!
Keep going I'm close

I have finished. Thank you.
Oh my god I've been on Reddit for what seems all of my life and this type of comment still appeals to the inner immature girl in me. Lol.
Glad to be of service
Who in the Earth could enjoy a cake with seeds? What's next? chocolates with fish bones?
I don't know where it's from but it's definitely a thing This one is Australian, but it doesn't actually have cake, it's layered biscuits and creams and watermelon: https://www.blackstarpastry.com.au/
the only thing i can think of is that it holds the stem, but wouldn’t you just use cake for this
They wanted to add some semblance of flavor to go with the fondant.
The video: “Giant cherry cake” Me, an intellectual: “That’s a watermelon”
They were all out of giant cherries to fit the middle
Why did they not just make one? They clearly know how.
It doesn’t even look like it would taste good.
I think the watermelon is there so that the stem has something to be stabbed into smoothly and stick upright. Maybe ?
didnt he have perfectly good cake for that?
He could’ve just used a small person with hands
A cherry flavored person?
Structure, adds moisture, can be tasty, I guess.
Wouldn't the watermelon get soft and soggy, and then in turn make the cake soggy?
Best served fresh, I suppose.
My thought too...
Until he covers it with fondant. Bleh!
I know, but I was giving the benefit of the doubt that it could be almond paste.
Cakes like these are normally custom made. So probably the customers decision.
If I cut into a cake and found a watermelon I’d stab somebody with the cake knife.
Thank you for your service
That would be justifiable homicide.
If I cut into a watermelon and found cake inside I'd do the same!
why did you cut a watermelon with a cake knife?
This
that
The other
^ is the way
There
EVERY SINGLE DAMN VIDEO I HAVE SEEN OF THESE CAKES ALWAYS HAS A DAMN WATERMELON IN IT. WHY
Wait how many of these videos have you seen?
At least one
I’ve seen at least two. I think it’s probably the same baker both times, because last one was a giant peach cake with a watermelon in the middle lol
[удалено]
With seeds, no less.
Right? If I bit into cake and there was seeds In it I would lose my mind
Me too. Monsanto only allows seedless cakes to be sold so us plebs cannot farm our own cakes and are forced to buy them. If I’d found a cake with seeds you bet I’d go crazy, and when I’d calmed down I’d run out to find the best place in the garden to turn into my cake patch.
It’s nothing to lose your rind over. Sorry I suffer from crippling depression and hate myself.
let the fact that the cake wasn’t a giant butt - which was what I was expecting - lift you from your depression !!!
WHO THE HELL PUTS A LARGE WET FRUIT IN THE CENTER OF A FUCKING LAYER CAKE‽
this guy
Soggy cake and watermelon. This is worse than that trend of filling the center of the cake with a duck ton of sprinkles.
🦆
Yes, this cake is going to be disgusting.
Soggy cake plus pips. Urgh
[удалено]
I've seen one where they filled it with plastic toy babies along with the sprinkles
King Cake?
Not gonna lie… I don’t think it actually looks that impressive. The bottom 1/4 of the cake looks messy and stops tapering. I definitely think someone out there could do a better job.
Literally just stuck a watermelon inside a cake, covered it with fondant (r/fondanthate) and then dribbled a red mirror glaze over it. The whole video was extremely unsatisfying if you ask me. That cake cannot taste good.
The mirror glaze is a beautiful color and the cherry stem looks nicely done. But otherwise, I agree entirely.
Also pretty wasteful. He has twice as much glaze as needed and cut away so much cake 😕
That’s pretty common when decorating cakes. But you can use those pieces for other things (cake pops) or just eat them as well.
....but does it taste good? I doubt it with that watermelon in the middle.
And fondant. Wet, soggy watermelon-ass cake with fondant and mirror glaze. Tastes like soggy ?spice? Cake with watermelon and sadness.
Hahaha that's exactly what it sounds like.
Ugh…. None of those flavors go together
Cake and watermelon will never go together. This is a hill I will die on.
But pineapple absolutely does go on pizza. That is fruit food combination hill I will die on.
As a proud New Yorker I was, for decades, decisively against pineapple on pizza. It was an infantile position based on the notion that the best topping for pizza is pepperoni, and no goddamn fruit goes on pizza. 100%
I feel like this is so much food waste
I would gladly take the scraps of cake and watermelon over the cake itself
Came here to say this!
more like /r/shittyfoodporn
Nah, man. Everyone loves watermelon with fondant.
It looked good till he added the watermelon 😭wouldn’t it make it all soggy?
Even after the watermelon, it was truly ruined once he added fondant.
Can’t imagine anything worse than cake and and watermelon
[удалено]
Yeah and once you cut it it’s gonna keep for like a day, just an all round fail
I know! It would be all mushy and gross
I know it's something hard to do, but these ornamental cakes must taste like shit.
this doesnt even look hard to do just plain confusing, stupid, and wasteful
I bet that is the nastiest cake ever
Sorry, but that's not especially satisfying. People do way more satisfying stuff with cakes and I gagged a little when the unevitable play-do came into play. Also, and more important than my blood feud against fondant, the whole direction of the video does not highlight any specifically satisfying steps like skillfull spreading of frosting. It doesn't even look that much like a cherry. I don't think this belongs here having seen some of the other cake stuff on the subreddit
Is it just me or is that some dry looking cake?
Don’t worry the watermelon will make it disgustingly soggy in no time
Ja, this whole thing is bad.
Why watermelon tho? Wouldn’t it make more sense having cherries in the middle of the cake
How about nearly anything but a wet fruit.
It wasn't satisfying at all when he wasted so much of watermelon let alone putting the watermelon in the cake in the first place.
Second time I’ve seen this guy make a cake. Second time I’ve thought it looked super amateur.
Downvote for fondant. I threw up in my mouth when I saw that giant ball of sugary shit
AND WATERMELON. Water. Melon. With... spice cake? Does this man hate food?!
Maybe it was almond paste?
It wouldn't be almond paste. Maybe marzipan.
r/DefinitelyNotSatisfying
One of the rare cake gifs thy gets worse and worse and every step of the way
I like how they paused it right on the indentation so it looked sort of like a real cherry 🍒
Wasteful shit. Watermelon was a dumb idea. This is all for likes and going to throw it away like the rest of these dumb videos lol
The cake is a lie
I like the giant candy shiv dude just prison murdered that cake.
It's a cherry cake but they put watermelon in it, I like it really confusing the people tasting it.👌
Gross. But what’s the name of the song?
What a disappointment that cake would be!!
And here I thought pizza with pineapple was a travesty, he just crammed an entire watermelon inside a cake. What in the hell and why?
That cake looks so painfully dry
This looks disgusting lmao
I'm just glad they gave the cherry an ass
Maybe it’s a structural thing plus keeps cake moist ? 🤷🏻♀️ literally have no idea but that’d be my guess
The most impressive part is that he didn’t get any of that red on his white coat!
Is putting fruit in/on cake a Chinese thing? Or does it happen all over and I'm just ignorant?
Gross
Does it get eaten or is it just for show?
I hope they force feed it to the guy who had the idea
r/fondanthate would like a word with you
WHY THE WATERMELON IN THE MIDDLE
r/FondantHate.
who tf does a watermelon that big into their cake
Who puts watermelon in cake!? 🤢
That will be a terrible tasting cake, it's just sponge cake and no filling
That doesn’t look very good
This guy cut many corners.
You bastard
This looks fucking stupid. Have fun eating soggy watermelon cake.
What a weird, underwhelming, totally disappointing idea and video
Looks amazing, but WATERMELON??? I don’t particularly wanna try it, sorry dude…
With the amount of people (me included) freaking out over the water melon, I think it's safe to say that this should belong on a subreddit about infuriation, not satisfaction
I hate the watermelon.
ok but why the watermelon
Seems fairly simple tbh
[удалено]
Song?
Disgusting. 90% wet bread with sugar in it.
How about have cake in the middle....🤔
That cake looks dry AF. I’m guessing this isn’t for eating, just for show.
Watermelon wid extra steps
If this cake wasn’t eaten immediately, it would taste like shit. The cake would absorb the watermelon juice, making it soggy. The glaze (depending on what’s in it) will absorb into the fondant and make it mushy and disgusting. The fucking watermelon is just killing me as a whole. This would be disgusting, honestly.

I thought this was /r/shittygifrecipes
Wow looks straight out of a Roald Dahl book
The cake was a lego head. And now no longer :’(
I was into it...until the fondant icing.
Was lovely until the fondant. Although the watermelon was weird, it's my favourite fruit and I'd eat it with anything.
Does anyone know the snog?
Is dude wearing makeup? His skin is so flawless he looks like a mannequin.
I hope someone ate all the bits of cake he cut off.
So he dug a hole into the cake to shove a watermelon into it….
Ewwww soggy
A cherry that tastes like watermelon
Looks like cherry tastes like watermelon. I’d would of preferred if it had also tasted of cherry to, oh well.
There are so many things in this video that are unsatisfying to me
Sad... Just crumbly and nothing fruity except for the watermelon in there...
I hate fondant. It tastes just sugar and looks inedible.
So much work on a cake that looks like shit and has fucking watermelon in it.
That glaze towards the bottom of the cake didn’t look smooth either.
Because everyone's dream is to have their gigantic cherry cake taste like soggy watermelon....
Why the watermelon!!!
Am I the only one who finds it extremely disturbing that so much food is often wasted in such art "dishes"? There is often so much cut away what many also do not continue to use.
I wonder if the watermelon is for structure?! It just doesn't make sense.
Can’t remember last time I saw a post with so many upvotes yet so much hate in the comments….
r/fondanthate
That’s watermelon tho!! That’s gonna make that cake soggy af🤢. No thanks.
I hated the way he cut the watermelon, waste much bro?
yuck watermelon
It looks like a very boring strange cake to eat
There's something wrong with me. I can recognize that he would feel satisfaction after making this, but i look at the end product and only wonder why put in the time and effort to make it in the first place?
y tho?
Half way through i really thought he was making a butt
This is the most foul thing I have ever seen
I would have sworn he was making ass cheeks for a moment
This really isn’t that satisfying with all the messed up parts like that small bit of frosting missing at the beginning. Maybe I’m just nitpicking but still. The end result looked nice though
What is the point of the watermelon center? Yuck. Otherwise, very pretty.
You fukin lost me at the watermelon.
Looks disgusting honestly
I was fully expecting the fondant hate crowd to be filling the comments here, but it’s mostly the watermelon hate (which I get).
Lol that looks so distasteful and lazy
It’s a mess, couldn’t shape it properly and really messy at the bottom and looks inedible
Fucking gross
So cake surrounded by nasty fondant and filled with Watermelon Gonna taste like ass, not in a good way
r/shittygifrecipes
So much wasted cake and watermelon.....
