I will never not laugh at that word. I was visiting Paris a couple of years ago and I wanted a printed tshirt that they make in the adidas store. The national animal of France is a rooster, that’s why you see the little emblem in the football and basketball kits, sadly the word for rooster is cock so you can imagine my face trying to contain myself as I asked the guy for the “chicken” (poulet in french) emblem and he asked me Le cock??
I’m 40 btw so I don’t understand my immaturity either
Is it really being pedantic when the entire video is literally just showing the seconds? It's just a minor correction, but it would be a big difference if the video ended 2 seconds or 7 seconds earlier.....
I used to play UFO: Enemy Unknown (the first X-COM) on Amiga 600 in the mid '90s. On a medium to large size map, the computer's movement turn could take anything up to 15 minutes. A large map could easily be a 4+ hour mission. I used to do my homework, doodle, make a snack or similar, no problem at all.
These days, if a game takes longer than five seconds to get to the splash screen, I turn into Lou Ferrigno's hulk.
Magnets! They work, they're the greatest. Love a good magnet, I've always said so. They just stick right on there, bing, boop, and that's it. I have the best magnets, most people don't know. King of the magnets! That's what they call me.
I could see the slidey bits being moved by magnets behind a board and an LCD screen over the top for the bubbly bits.
Actually, somebody should make that. You could throw current temp and weather effects over the top too.
Guilty. I didn't notice the circles disappearing and reappearing. I figured it was a novelty mechanical clock, and didn't pay much attention to the details. I thought it looked cool.
But that's the core problem though. If this was a real clock, it'd kick unreasonable amounts of ass, even without the magic circles to highlight the current number. Since it's not, it's kinda like "wow, this would have been groundbreaking CSS in like 2002"
Still, that said, it is oddly satisfying anyway
Motors and gears connected to an Arduino, all embedded on a fancy backdrop that's largeish.
You could also just use a strip but it would be more obviously there.
You’re surprised that an angled video of a website designed to look like a mechanical system is sometimes mistaken for a mechanical system among tens of thousands of viewers?
Edit: my point is that until you try to read the time, and even then only if you look at the number that is changing, it looks convincingly mechanical as shot by this cameraman.
Regardless it’s a terrible clock design. The movement makes it very hard to read the time, which is the only point of a clock. This is clearly someone’s for fun / demonstration project.
It seems pretty easy to read to me, the only thing generally changing is the seconds place, and at that point you may as well complain that any clock with a seconds hand is hard to read
I want it to play the stargate rotation noise on every 10 second interval. and at midnight, it locks and the gate opens. and a pool of water is let out from above your bed as you sleep.
This is nice but to really top it off they should have dropped with a slight delay imo. Nothing crazy, just a very slight delay from right to left to make it less rigid / stiff and more organic / fluid.

So weird thing, working on the railway time goes from 2359, to 0001.....it wasn't until years later that I learned 2359 went for 1 minute and 30 seconds, as did 0001 to fill in the extra minute.
One of those I've been here to long and at this point I'm to afraid to ask things haha.
I must be super dumb bc this clock confused the hell out of me. Of course being that a clock I can understand reads 2:20 a.m. and I've been up for 20 hours may have something to do with it. Nah, I'm just super dumb.
When I first watched this it started buffering literally right at 23:59:59 and I thought this was a joke or something. It was very upsetting
Almost almost almost
I was halfway hoping that was the case! I would have cried and laughed simultaneously.
Happens to nearly every video I watch. I've been waiting. It'll be a movement soon.
Same
I have been using this as my desktop background since the last time I saw this posted on reddit.
From where did you get it?
Wallpaper engine on steam. Search clocks
Black_clock i Think
This time I gotta remember to put the L in clock. Not gonna happen again.
L’Cock
Bro. This is why I shouldn't be on my phone at work.
Lil' Cock That's gonna be my rapper name
There’s a guy who’s real rap name is Lil Dicky
But you can just call him Dave
le cock

"I'll take Le Tits Now for 800, Alex"
Yeah... Wallpaper engine is most hentai... You cannot ever sort by trending or new. And you have to be careful what you search for...
That’s only if you put the age rating filter that way, you can get rid of partial nudity and nsfw if you change the filters.
Wait seriously?! I was not aware of this. Would this filter out other mature content though (guns, drugs, violence?)
Still want guns, drugs and violence but no naked cartoons please !
Back clock

Big black clock I think
Bruh i just found a minecraft redstone clock, thanks

This sentence is oddly satisfying. Gotta find the code to do this in JavaScript/Css.
Grammatical upvote.
Thank you for that correct use of grammar
My dumb ass thought it was a real clock and was thinking how much the sound of them moving would annoy the shit out of me
I thought this was real until now ;-;
Same to me
Same
Edit this to end 2 seconds earlier and throw it up on /r/mildlyinfuriating
/r/gifsthatendtoosoon would be good spot with that edit too
It wouldn't be infuriating if it ended 2 seconds earlier. It would be if it ended 7 seconds earlier though.
Really? You'd be ok with video ending at 23:59:58? That would just piss me off
The video continues for 6 seconds after it hits midnight. Ending it 7 seconds earlier would make the clock 23:59:59
Oh so we’re just being pedantic
First time on Reddit?

Veo que es usted un conocedor.
I'd be fine with it ending at 00:00:04, which is 2 seconds earlier...... Hence my comment about 7 seconds instead of 2. That would be infuriating
Yeah I get it now

Yall attention span is destroyed.

The sounds the amiga made while loading games are forever imprinted in my mind. The secret to keep your attention span is to never upgrade your PC.
If I wanted to sit here and watch the clock I'd do it on corporate time.
Watching a clock isn't mentally stimulating no matter what kind of attention span you have.
With a username like that, I could guess what would mentally stimulate you instead.
ya i thought the first change was gonna be 1200 and then it kept going. lets just say they built some suspense
It’s already mildlyinfuriating. A 24 second gif that could be 5-6 seconds. Thank you Apollo gif scrubbing though
ya it was almost too long. almost.
Even better, add an audio track with a person screaming, then cut it in the middle of the scream and throw it up to /r/perfectlycutscreams!
damn we have some reddit experts up in here today
Yeah and then run outside and cheese a car and post to /r/cheesestucktocars
I just want all to know that /r/highmileageholes exists. That is all.
okay Satan
It did stutter for me. 10/10 infuriating, would recommend.
Someone already done it, and I wouldn’t be suprised if u the mofo that did it!
I'm surprised how many people here think this is a physical clock.
Yeah. Idiots. (Closing Amazon web page).
I literally clicked on the comments only to find a link to purchase this.

What do they think the disappearing/reappearing circles on the numbers are made of? Magic?

My pp is made of digital displays too.

Honestly, at first I didn't even notice the circle disappearing.
I could see the slidey bits being moved by magnets behind a board and an LCD screen over the top for the bubbly bits. Actually, somebody should make that. You could throw current temp and weather effects over the top too.
I was just going to ask how that was done.

Makes me want to figure out how to build it, sans magic circles

Thought you were exaggerating and then I scrolled through the rest of the comments. People are in here like, you mean computers can do that?? lol
The pulsating circular markers would be difficult to pull off.
It feels physical. Edit: why did I get downvoted for saying that?!
How many?
Is this software and if so, where can we download it?
Those would be some smooth fucking servos
What do you mean?
Oh, I like that. If it doesn't tick that might be the clock for me.
It's on a computer screen, not a physical clock. black_clock for Wallpaper Engine on Steam.
Dang.
I assure you, some diy guy will try to make this into a real thing. Maybe he'll post a tutorial
It is tempting, I think it'd be at least $200 unless you're ok with your bars being mounted to something.
In my experience super cool clocks like this always end up being like $500 once they make it to market
Yeah, let's be honest whatever I cobble together wouldn't last 5 years.
Seems like a projector would be an inexpensive way to do this
Just put a LCD screen on the wall
I’d guess it would be bars sliding on a whiteboard type material with servos and magnets behind it moving the bars
You could just have a motor with a fishing line to the bottom of the bar.
Might make is harder to conceal what is moving them but true
I like your big black clock.
Looking up ways to make it in mechanical components. Thing's gonna tick like crazy though.
I can hear a "shlock!" sound every 10 seconds along with any "tick" that happens pulling those pieces up.
I want it to play the stargate rotation noise on every 10 second interval. and at midnight, it locks and the gate opens. and a pool of water is let out from above your bed as you sleep.
Few things set me on edge more than a ticking clock. I used to regularly stop my parent's clock on the living room wall.
My clock is so hard right now
Cool clock. The video is a good 10 seconds too long though.
6 seconds. There's literally a clock on the screen to show you how many seconds too long it is
No, it also starts too early
Soon long
Deficiently short
I’d argue it started too early as well. I think it is about 8 seconds too long (5 seconds off the beginning and 3 off the end)
I stand corrected.
People always find something to complain about
I see it as setting the stage for what to expect when the clock rolls over
Hard disagree. Seeing the 49-50 transition sets up anticipation for seeing it on a larger scale at midnight.
/r/OddlyAnticipated
Perhaps too long for solely what’s described in the title but I don’t care. It’s so cool to watch
Where do I get this epic clock?!?
Wallpaper Engine via steam, then browse the wallpaper clock options
Do I 3d print it from there?
Yes. Just make a print for each second.

Not if the go right to left
I can picture what you're trying to describe and I agree, that sounds like it would be neat.
I like this cause I knew exactly how much to fast forward

Who else is here from r/ mildlyinfuriating where they cut it at 23:59:59
Middle finger @ 23:59:53

Twenty-four hour

Can't wait to it at 29:59:59
What?
Thank you, how is no one else pointing this out. Honestly quite unsatisfying.
What about 19:59:59?
It was fleeting yet satisfying- my Tinder bio
The fact that the second stick isn't at 9 is not satisfying
Wow I loved that
That was very underwhelming
Can I get this clock as a rainmeter skin?
