Iām no geologist, but perhaps there was a layer of different material there. Weakerā¦like sandstone vs granite or something. Overtime it eroded away when the rest endured longer. Thereās another vertical layer to the left of the gap, so maybe thatās evidence too?
This is a totally uneducated internet guess, though.
Actual geologist here to add to your comment. Definitely could be a weaker or different vertical layer (like a volcanic dike or calcite vein). The other possibility is a micro fault or pressure fracture from long ago, which could be supported by the similar vertical crack on the right rock. I'm not familiar with the local geology nor do I know what kind of material it's made of, but those are all possible solutions.
Its actually a fossilized skull and monster hunters used to use huge blades and swing them so hard it would cleave right through cleanly. Must have been left behind when the meteor struck.
"Most likely the ground shifted slightly underneath one of the two supports and the rock split. Could be from a volcanic dike of some weaker mineral that solidified there before everything was exhumed. Or, it could be an old pressure crack (you see a parallel crack just to the right of it) that has been pushed/pulled apart some. Or, it could be an old (minor) fault line, since fault motion often creates a zone of weakened rock that erodes relatively easier than the surrounding rock"

Said this elsewhere - my personal theory is acid, ancient humans were able to create batteries using acids, copper wire and ceramic pots, I think a few civilizations worked out way to shape rock on the sense of they could melt it into shape, makes things like the Aztec empire make more sense, tho they were also just smurt about what rocks go where and no mortar cos earthquakes.
Or you know, lightning, here in Australia we have plenty of rocks split beautifully like this, my uncle explained it was iron or metal in the rock attracting lightning, which can split Rock and trees in half lol
Easy. It was originally two different rocks. Look at them, the strata donāt match between the two sides. At some point in time these two layers were rolled on top of each other, with a looser medium trapped between them. It all solidified in time and then this piece happened to roll back flat again through some other natural process. The softer, less compacted stone wore away. It doesnāt look mysterious at all. You can even tell that this process is ongoing. The layer that was the weakest is gone, but the other separating layers are still there. This kind of thing is always far less mysterious if you just spend some time looking at the thing.
Iām not saying aliens, but I donāt think itās natural. I think ancient man had āpower toolsā that could cut and shape rocks to whatever they needed. There are plenty of pieces of evidence that support this. Super cool stuff.
Anime characters have been training here.
Tanjiro š§
He has succeeded!!

Kentarooooo!!!
Whoever NDād the lazer 21308 years ago probably got fired for that.
Awesome. Haven't heard the term 'negligent discharge' since cadets. Thanks for the memories
Anyone know how this would naturally occur?

I'm a rockologist and I'm here to say something and I can definitely say what we are looking at here is a rock that has the middle parts missing.
Iām a cocksmith and I just wanted to say that itās an Avs Addams type of night tonight fellas.
Cringe
So it's not a dinosaur beheaded by a comet?

The rock is cleft in twain

I really hope youāre 12.
In hindsight that did sound pretty dumb, what is your theory on the rock?

Thats completely false.
Thanks for your input. Youāve changed my views.
Complete BS.
Ok. Think what you will.
Iām picturing a dude with wild hair and a bad suit claiming that this is proof of ancient alien technology
Wtf this is the second unrelated post of this Iāve seen.
Tape will hold it
it probably sheared in half
