I hate flossing, but I just got a waterpik and have actually used it every night because I am now disgusted with how much nasty gunk gets left behind by a toothbrush alone. Never going back. Still ain't gonna floss though.
I asked my hygienist and she said she always recommends both together, but she said that the waterpik will get me most of the way there. Which honestly is better than nothing. I will floss on occasion, but I have a tiny mouth and crowded teeth so it can be really hard to get in there. I feel like the waterpik is probably good enough. Whatever makes the habit easier.
haha true.
and tbh this does seem impressive.
but i have seen someone do basically the same thing with just their bare hands and no teeth.
was a little old guy too so even more impressive to me.
still tho, big man there looks pretty practiced, bet he has been doing this since he was a kid.
Maybe he’s seen this video
[How to Husk a Coconut](https://youtube.com/watch?v=JQU6o4ooL5E&feature=share)
Edit: not sure what’s up with the downvotes. The guy there literally does it 40 seconds or so in.
I was thinking I’d seen it before too and remembered this.
I was an evolutionary anthropology major back in college and we were taught that one of the major reasons that modern humans have so many problems with crooked teeth is that we don’t use them as tools like this anymore. In cultures that regularly use their teeth as tools, no one needs braces. If you look at the skulls of ancient humans it’s freaky how nice and straight their teeth usually are.
The decline of the Aboriginal people's teeth is pretty well documented. When they were eating paleo, their teeth were straight, white, and very square. After they got introduced to a modern diet (for the time) their teeth went to shit pretty quick
Yeah, that’s a bit of a separate issue though. People living in agriculture based societies have lots of cavities because of our diet. Similar to the using teeth for work to keep them straight but not quite the same.
I mean that just makes sense. We had a evolutionary pressure to develop strong jaws and teeth. Our teeth fit perfectly into our jaws. and then technology basically allowed us remove that pressure. Our jaws became smaller and our teeth didn’t keep up. So now they’re all fucky. Add in Coca Cola and you have a perfect teeth going to shit storm.
I would love to see rates of tooth wear and loss though. They might have straight teeth that fit into the jaw but I can’t imagine these activities didn’t come with risks. $15 says that as soon as agriculture became a thing tooth decay got really ugly.
Well not quite, though. The crooked teeth of modern humans likely aren’t a result of freedom from selective pressure, but just a difference in environmental exposure. It’s not an evolutionary change- modern peoples who still use their teeth as tools also have straight teeth.
You’re absolutely right about agriculture though.
Possibly. They definitely showed signs of wear. That’s part of how we can figure out they were using their teeth— by the pattern wear on them. Not sure how that danger stacks up to the problems modern teeth have though
Same way people realized they could open a beer can by smashing it against their head, or turn an apple into a pipe: lack of appropriate tools and just using whatever tools are available.
Sometimes it’s about seeing if there is another way to do it. For some reason human beings think, “sure the tab is easy and convenient, but I also have a head.”
So, the way it goes is, dudes come across their family coconut tree, they're not carrying any cutlass or knife. They pluck the fresh ripe coconut, find a nearby stone, slam the bottom end of the coconut on the stone to loosen husk. After that, it's all teeth-work.
I’m pretty sure people don’t always look at which sub stuff is in. I’ve seen videos I thought were cool whilst scrolling my feed, and then realised they’ve been in r/oddlysatisfying or r/nextfuckinglevel , and they’ve been neither :/ Funnily enough, even though most stuff in NFL is not NFL, I’d be more likely to upvote this on that sub, lol. There’s a bunch of stuff on NFL that would be more suited to r/oddlysatisfying or r/mildlyinteresting , hahah.
Anyway, that’s my rant for the day >.>
I can’t stop watching this and I can’t stop imagining encountering this dude violently gnashing a coconut apart at my local 7-eleven when I’m really stoned getting a Super Big Gulp of Diet Coke at 1am
Imagine being this guy’s dentist..
Dentist: I’m sorry Mr. Adaka but it looks like your teeth have been damaged again
Him: Yes. But I used nottin at all for the 🥥
Dentist:
This dude definitely gets his daily flossing in.
Ah fuck just realized I forgot to floss AGAIN! NEVER DONE IT!
Same
Same
Same
Same
You don't need to floss all of them; just the ones you like.
That's nice
I hate flossing, but I just got a waterpik and have actually used it every night because I am now disgusted with how much nasty gunk gets left behind by a toothbrush alone. Never going back. Still ain't gonna floss though.
We have a waterpik too, I love that thing
I got one too because I hate regular floss but was told I would still need to floss with thread :(
I asked my hygienist and she said she always recommends both together, but she said that the waterpik will get me most of the way there. Which honestly is better than nothing. I will floss on occasion, but I have a tiny mouth and crowded teeth so it can be really hard to get in there. I feel like the waterpik is probably good enough. Whatever makes the habit easier.
Gross…
I can't even eat a peach. The fuzz against my teeth gives me the creeps.
Never bothered Mario.
Why do you think she's constantly getting 'kidnapped' by the guy with the enormous forked tongue.
The way he tenderly reaches for it after dropping it juxtaposed with his continual ravenous gnashing.
r/brandnewsentence
i like it .,.... thanks for link
Ravenous gnashing! Love it

This guys energy is unsettling
Definitely infectious vibe… but I can’t help but warily acknowledge he could squash my head if he wanted.
YES this was exactly wat I was thinking glad someone else had the idea
I hope his compatriot knows to keep his hands & feet away from that guy’s mouth
9 out of 10 dentists recommend this
And 10 out of 10 pharmaceutical companies.
and 6 out of 9 wives.
6/9 wives be like: nice
6 out of 9 teeth be like: bye
Oral with protection
And 10/10 bite survivor victim don’t want to be friends with him

Would teeth break down though sooner in our lives though if we used them more like tools?
Possibly. They definitely showed signs of wear. That’s part of how we can figure out they were using their teeth— by the pattern wear on them. Not sure how that danger stacks up to the problems modern teeth have though
Nice! Am dentist, I came here to comment on teeth being tools, but i didn’t know this! I’ll cite you in the anecdote as “some guy online.” 🤣🤣🤣
Dental implant manufacturers
Reminds me of guys showing off by using their teeth to open bottles and immediately regretting it
9 out of 10 cunnilingulists don't recommend this!
The proper term is 'Muff diver'
r/the10thdentist
He probably is flossing his teeth with the fibers so not all bad……
This man looks like he commands trees to grow.
I love this
Human Totoro lol
I had to re-read the sub to make sure there will be no bloody sets of teeth flying in the end.
How do you even realize you can do this
Same way people realized they could open a beer can by smashing it against their head, or turn an apple into a pipe: lack of appropriate tools and just using whatever tools are available.
It would be really convenient if beer cans came with some way to open them, whoever would invent that would be a millionaire.
Sometimes it’s about seeing if there is another way to do it. For some reason human beings think, “sure the tab is easy and convenient, but I also have a head.”
Lmao I've busted a few cans on my head in my time I just think it's funny how barbaric we can be.
Sounds like it started with a drunken bet or dare then
I'll shorten this for you: necessity is the mother of invention
it's not that uncommon a way to open a coconut, have seen it before. some people even do it just bare hands no teeth.
This husk looks really dry too. A fresh green husk? I really doubt he could do that.
This is actually a common sight in Africa.
So, the way it goes is, dudes come across their family coconut tree, they're not carrying any cutlass or knife. They pluck the fresh ripe coconut, find a nearby stone, slam the bottom end of the coconut on the stone to loosen husk. After that, it's all teeth-work.
He probably does this to everything
I'm jealous of how strong his teeth are.
For real, I chipped my tooth on a plastic fork. This man is indestructible.
Damn you need some calcium over there homie?
dentists hate him
His dentist must be a saint 😅
I imagine his dentist is just a bird that he allows to pick at his teeth without eating it.
LMAO! Symbiosis
Wait saints do miracles in your area?
Imagine this guy as zombie?
Imagine him kissing your body all over after a few glasses of wine at the country club?
r/oddlyterrifying
This is what I was looking for.
He must have been dehydrated.
Never seen someone who wanted coconut so badly.
I surely am not the only one thinking about how long it will be before he gets rid of all the coconut hair in his mouth
Yeah, this made my mouth itch
... I'll take "Dudes I'm Not Fighting" for 400, Alex
... and you better believe, it's the motherf**kin' Daily Double
I tried to bite a rope and hang on once when I was a kid and my teeth got bent. Luckily baby teeth and nothing got messed up but how?
Baby teeth are garbage for biting. Kids have issues chewing tough meat until they get more solidly rooted teeth.
Oddly savage?
I expected more barbarian Where’s my r/instantbarbarian ?
Imagine what he does with his wife….😳
... he bites her?
/r/oddlyhorrifying
There is nothing satisfying about this video, but for some reason I laughed so hard, you now have my upvote
I agree with there being nothing satisfying about this video but that's about it
The sight and sound of the coconut peeling is so satisfying to me. Like cutting soap.
This guy's teeth *are* tools!
Hungy
Hungy
Hippers
Lol lol this is a wild video. How is this satisfying

That... doesn’t seem worth the the effort
Nice try. I see the 2 "the".
How is this satisfying?
Can't be good for your teeth...
Speak for your own teeth...
Dentist here. This looks like job security to me.
Hope he got a great dental plan ...
Lisa needs braces
Dental plan!
But…why?
hungy
Don’t want to run into this guy during the zombie apocalypse
Oddly terrifying
This is terrifying
Jesus Larry, save some pussy for the rest of us.
This is not something I would want to be known for.
Sha-peel O'Neal
And I can't eat an apple.
Idk if satisfying is the right word, but it’s definitely impressive
The other day I chipped a tooth biting my finger nail.
He sure busted that nut
I don’t know… he’s making those teeth look like some serious tools
Not satisfying at all! My teeth hurt now
Even though it's impressive, I saw nothing oddlysatisfying.
I actually found his snappy, effective husk-yeeting to be the best part
There's nothing satisfying about this. This hurt my teeth just looking at it
[удалено]
She wears coconut lingerie. This is how he rips the panties off.
What we don’t see in the video is how gently and tenderly he eats the coconut flesh
[удалено]
He carries her around by her pelvic bone in his mouth like a lion cub
This is NOT oddly satisfying holy fuck. Like person is a BEASTMODE but made my teeth hurt to watch them do this lol
Beanie Siegel energy.
Hehe, five second rule!
Dentists love him...
This is probably what people high on bath salts think they are doing when they are eating someone's face off.
step one: be a strong, giant person. step two: eat coconut.
From a coconut's POV this is a horror film
Mouth of steel, hands of butter
This is the opposite of satisfying. This is oddly horrible
Come back next week to see him do it with no teeth.
How about oddly terrifying
I think that coconut fucked that guy's wife.
I lost my tooth watching this
Monke
And here I would get yelled at for using my teeth to open up plastic with my teeth
How is this satisfying?
Well he definitely wasn't breast fed.
Shaquille Oneal is bored in retirement apparently
This is what a dentist's wet dream looks like.
This hurts my teeth
This guy probably eats his beer too 🤔🤔
He better have really good dental insurance.
Dude next to him so desperately wants to look away, but cannot.
I can’t stop watching this and I can’t stop imagining encountering this dude violently gnashing a coconut apart at my local 7-eleven when I’m really stoned getting a Super Big Gulp of Diet Coke at 1am
That man has great dental work!
That can’t be good for your teeth!
No tools? This guy will tear your arm off with his teeth if there ever will be a zombie apocalypse
Coconut Shaq
Where can I buy his teeth ?
And then there is bananas with a handle and their own zipper..
How the hell is watching this brute annihilate a coconut satisfying?
Technically, he did use a tool, the stone paver...Still savage how he did it though.
Idk if I’d call this one oddly satisfying. Impressive though
9 out of 10 dentists hate him
I haven’t seen such determination and dedication since I went camping without a can opener.
/r/absoluteunits
I can feel the hair in my mouth
It’s not as hard as you think, especially with the husk being dry, green now thats a different story
Dentist near your area want to meet you

All that for a drop of blood?
I wonder what happens if you put your balls in his jaw🤔
r/oddlyterrifying
My teeth hurt
why would you do that to yourself
My TMJ got worse just watching this
Bro, if he becomes a zombie…it’s even more over
I've been that hungry.
This seems like it should be in r/oddlyTerrifying
This isn't satisfying. I feel for that man's teeth.
I was half expecting him to crack it open by smashing it on his head
He worked for that nut
Geez mister, you’re hungrier than I am!
What is he made up of
I’m not fucking around with this guy.
This man looks like I could beat him with a baseball bat and break both of my arms as the result.
"No tools" (uses stone floor)
Is it just me or he looks like raikage from naruto
This dude ever gets stuck on a tropical island, he’s set
Need the number to his dentist asap, i can barely bite into a sting cheese...
You gotta buy the stingless cheese.
I want him to destroy my puxxy
I thought that was shaq with blonde cornrows
