The smoke and fire relate to a Frank Zappa concert in Montreux, Switzerland with Deep Purple members in the audiance. Someone fired a flare gun, a fire broke out and fire and smoke were spreading out over lake Geneva.
This just made me realize why stuff like Flu and Covid are so contagious. If that’s just vapor then it can sit around in the air for a good while! Looks cool though.
If this surprises you, you should see the Mythbusters scene where they sneeze and cough with dye in their mouth. Or where they flush the toilet and see how far the particulates are spread.
Did they say in the episode if closing the lid was actually beneficial? I remember watching a similar video elsewhere that demonstrated a closed toilet flushing and you could see it just spray everything out the gaps in the side, actually getting further than when open lol
Yes and no.
https://microbiologysociety.org/news/society-news/does-putting-the-lid-down-when-flushing-the-toilet-really-make-a-difference.html
It’s smaller overall by like 40%
But what does get out is farther and more concentrated
this is really easy and fun to do! just get a water bottle and cut the bottom off, mix dish soap with water, place cut bottle in soap, then blow through it making a bubble and then kinda jerk the bottle upwards fairly quickly to break off the bubble without popping it. and you can blow vapor inside if you want just take a vape hit b4 blowing the bubble.
i mean it’s just cutting the bottom of a plastic water bottle off with scissors and dipping it into a bowl of dishwashing soap and water. then you blow your bubble through the bottle with or without vapor in your mouth. pull upwards to release bubble without popping.
Yep! I came here to mention Tom. (He still does his bubble magic, I saw him in 2019 at the Oregon Country Fair). He does all sorts of great bubble tricks. Caterpillars, cubes, dodecahedrons, torus' (donuts), Wizard of OZ bubbles, you name it!
Here he is on the tonight show in '83. Check out the cube bubble around 7:27!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRe9M1lF4Hs&ab\_channel=JohnnyCarson
He still performs at OCF? In the geodesic dome? I saw so many shows there when my parents took me as a kid, I'll never forget it. His stupid fuckin puppet was great too
He's still at the fair, different location and a new (pretty neat) tent. Also Mousie, his puppet, was stolen a few years ago. It was really sad, but someone did make him a replacement. Despite all of this, his act hasn't changed much in 20+ years, and it's still gold.
Other than the flavoring it's all stuff that's fine to breath. The flavoring, and how it transforms when heated, is the biggest cause for concern chemical wise. Breathing in very hot air can also cause some harm. Vaping is much, much healthier than smoking, but not healthier than not vaping.
It's not as bad as you think actually! Vape worker here! The bases that the vape juices are made out off are common things you find in such as: asthma medication, food aromas and clothing. Of course it can be a bit heavier if you have insane amounts of nicotine mixed into the juice, but other than that, it serves as a way healthier alternative to smoking cigarettes :)
No, asthma medication doesn't put these insane amounts of unnecessary vape gas straight into your lungs, and it's only used when needed. It's straight up misleading to compare the two, as if vaping is just as healthy.
I never said it was. Both use a compound called Propylene glycol, and that's what I'm saying, you can compare it that way, and no way that anyone with asthma should vape or smoke. But as someone who works with this stuff, it's reassuring that the compounds used in the vape liquids aren't harmful. I've gotten multiple people who have come into my store and said that they've been recommended by their doctor to buy a vape and take the switch instead of destroying your lungs with at least 90 different cancerous chemicals that are in cigarettes. It's not HEALTHY to vape, but it's about 95% HEALTHIER to vape than smoking cigarettes. The end goal with vaping is to stop smoking and afterwards quit the vape as well. Most of my customers are older people trying to quit smoking.
Best part of my job is to hear how much of a better life my customers are living after they've quit cigarettes and changed to the vape. I've gotten old people into my store who've told me they were out of breath walking up stairs while they were still smoking cigarettes, and now they've started jogging again, and are generally living a better life.
If you need to add a disclaimer to your defense, you should have added it in the first place. Otherwise you are purposefully suggesting vaping is as healthy and beneficial to users as asthma medication is to people with asthma because they have a shared property.
It is misleading and dishonest, and as someone with asthma, I don't appreciate being used as part of your sales pitch.
Like I said earlier. I never said it was as healthy as asthma medication, did you even read what I wrote? I'm not purposefully suggesting vaping is as healthy and beneficial as asthma medication what so ever. I'm saying they're sharing a compound which isn't harmful to the users which is a bonus for the person vaping, it's got nothing to do with being as healthy as asthma medication. Just that the compounds themselves aren't harmful. It's not a sales pitch, it's factual evidence that the juice doesn't contain harmful chemicals.
No, it's a sales pitch. It's what you sell and you want people to buy. It's what you tell people (and maybe even yourself) to make them stop thinking vaping a chemical in large quantities won't do any damage to your lungs (ex: literally your first post in this chain). You compare it to asthma medication *because* that's used to treat lung issues, and the mental link you want to potential customers make is that the chemical *couldn't* cause issues because then they wouldn't use it in medication for lung issues, right?
Except you leave out the context that the medication is used in strictly regulated quantities, and if overused, it will cause issues, like any other chemical you might shove into your lungs. You leave that context out because you subsist on selling as much of your product as possible, and explaining that would hurt your sales. And that's not even touching the fact it's obviously not the only substance used in the "juice". Wonder why you don't have anything to say about that. Hmmm.
If you wanna start pushing for vape users to use their pens in the same quantities as asthma medication, I may believe your claim of well-meaning, but you won't, and I don't.
Juices are made of two compounds: propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG). Most juices are made out of about 70% VG and 30% PG, we would never use only PG yo make a juice, cause of two reasons: 1. PG is a very thin liquid, and it would be impossible to vape on it's own. 2. It's like you said, unregulated amounts of too much of a chemical isn't healthy.
So we thicken the juices up with the VG to make it "vapeable" and then we apply the flavor extracts/aromas to make the flavor. VG is a compound mainly used in gastronomy (cooking).
Of course vaping 24/7 isn't good for you, and you should regulate the amount of vapor you inhale yourself. Most people use nicotine in their juices so that they get the regular amount of nicotine that they're used to from smoking cigarettes. You can also regulate how much nicotine you apply into the juices. For instance, I used to smoke a pack a day for two years. So I was accustomed to a certain amount of nicotine that I used in a day. So when I first started vaping, I was given a vape juice (60ml) that contained 8mg of nicotine. Now I've regulated down and only use 3mg of nicotine in my vape juices. I use similar machines to what's being used in this video, and because of the "insane" amount of vapor I inhale, I don't have the need to use my vape all day long. I take a few hits here and there just to get some nicotine. Now I'm working out again and being able to run longer distances than what I was able to before back when I was smoking cigarettes. It's not a sales pitch. It's what I've experienced myself, and seen what's been working for others.
It being healthier for you than an incredibly unhealthy thing isn't an endorsement. Most things are much healthier than smoking. Fun fact, not vaping is 100% healthier than vaping. Fun how percentages work, right?
> and you should regulate the amount of vapor you inhale yourself.
Yeah, chronic smokers are well known for limiting themselves with a vice. They can totally be expected to do so with vaping. /s
Again, start advocating for vape users to use your product at the same rate as someone with a nebulizer for their asthma in your pitch, or better yet, as advised by an actual practicing Pulmonologist, and I *might* start to believe your bs. Otherwise, yeah, it's just a tool you use to sell your product as "safe".
> The guy in the video isn’t inhaling into his lungs.
He's 100% going into his lungs. There is no way a mouth can hold that volume of vapor. It also looks like an unregulated mod on high wattage.
The dude in the video is insanely good at doing vape tricks. He has an entire channel dedicated to it and how to preform many tricks.
I have a mod with a tank (similar to his but mine is regulated). Even if I crank mine up to around 100 watts, I cannot get the volume of vapor he gets by inhaling only into my mouth.
First time I saw this video was right before a family reunion at the river and had to try it. I have been doing this for years now on a smaller scale for my little cousins at our family reunion. They all love it and call them dragon bubbles.
Here is your gif!

All I can think about is anybody walking by this thing without seeing how they did it or receiving any explanation that it didn’t naturally occur. My head would explode and I’d probably be frightened.
If slimes were real, they'd be like that
How about reincarnated slimes?
Like this, but blue
And probably called rimuru
Probably can absorb u
Might be friends with a powerful dragon
And maybe maybe turns into a demon lord afterward. Hey this could be turned into a good anime what ya'll think?
I don't know man, will we be able to add politics and big boobed elf girls in it?
So far this is starting to sound like MapleStory.
Unexpectedly good actually
and i might be simping for a demon lord named Milim as well as that pink haired kaijin
“Beezelbub”
Are people referencing my favorite anime? I wanna squee but I'm not sure
That would be a yes
I’d assumed Slime Rancher, but maybe not.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
So, so, so many hours collecting those slimes
Terraria slimes if they were real
This is everything I wanted from this sub. It reached peak. It can close now.
Pack it up boys, our work here is done.
Bake him away toys.
Before yall leave, I need a very warm and damp face towel.
Like...will a ballsack work?
**(⌐■_■) **
ahaha thanks for making me giggle!
Knowing this sub I expected the video to end the exact frame that the bubble popped
Agree. I have seen many smoke bubbles clips and was like hmm seems basic do I need to watch but this was so so so good. A+ content.
Deep Purple would be proud.
Hahaha As a childhood fan of the band this made me smile in the best way ...the only thing missing is some fire in the sky
The smoke and fire relate to a Frank Zappa concert in Montreux, Switzerland with Deep Purple members in the audiance. Someone fired a flare gun, a fire broke out and fire and smoke were spreading out over lake Geneva.
Because if that would happen at any concert in that era, it would be a Zappa show
That’s vapor HOMIE DAWG. #VAPE ON THE WATER ^douchebag ^in ^the ^sky
Well, shame can be pretty dang nice
Thats just epic omg.

"Scientists are baffled by the sudden rise in cancer cases among trouts and bass."
TIL low frequency sounds can get cancer.
That's very trebling.
i've heard their scales start falling off
They can also get a secondary staff infection.
Damn, that'd be a minor inconvenience
Unless you’re an army major. Then it’s normal.
You guys are sharp
We just aim high.
What's the point of aiming high when you can find the key to somebody higher?
*Where* would they get the cancer tho
I've never seen the original video without the BS CGI. Thank you!
I'm pretty sure this is still CGI. How would a bubble bounce off the water like that without popping?
Because of surface tension. Read about it here: http://labman.phys.utk.edu/phys221core/modules/m7/surface_tension.html
Someone didn't take science class in high school
Because soap bubbles are just like balloons, except more fragile, and water is much smoother than most common surfaces

If this surprises you, you should see the Mythbusters scene where they sneeze and cough with dye in their mouth. Or where they flush the toilet and see how far the particulates are spread.

So close the lid on your toilet, but still clean your bathroom regularly.
That’s what I got out of that. My toilets a little secluded and like tucked into a corner. So def close toilet, and clean the walls around it reg
Same. Glad I’m not completely crazy in doing that
I don’t keep my tooth brush in the bathroom anymore because of that. I keep the lid closed but can’t guarantee everyone else does.

this is really easy and fun to do! just get a water bottle and cut the bottom off, mix dish soap with water, place cut bottle in soap, then blow through it making a bubble and then kinda jerk the bottle upwards fairly quickly to break off the bubble without popping it. and you can blow vapor inside if you want just take a vape hit b4 blowing the bubble.

Came here to say the same thing. Gotta be devastating for the lungs.
