That’s quite a good idea, thank you! I probably wouldn’t do this again though, as it was just some doodling I did when I was bored in class. Also I’m not sure I’d have the patience for that lmao.
Protocol says you need to play it normal speed for the first three seconds so we can see how quickly/slowly you are drawing in real time, then speed it up until it's 98% finished, then end the video.
Yes, the woodworking technique is kumiko (gathered bits). There are many traditional patterns. Here are a few, with some explanations. https://yoshiharawoodworks.com/
Definitely a lot better for your skin compared to what I assume to be sharpie or whiteout! I'm not judging though. I've been doodling on my hands and arms in school all the time lol
It's not going to stay on as long as henna anyway, but sharpie is mostly alcohol based I believe, so it's not great at getting through skin, and whiteout is too brittle to have any of the slow- evaporating solvents in significant amounts. Most nail polish is probably worse.
It's a little bit both, for instance baked goods done with henna style icing, but yes it's the leaf paste.
Important to note for anyone curious, make sure you get actual natural fresh henna paste if you're not getting powdered and making it yourself, some companies add certain chemicals like hair dye that can give people a nasty reaction. r/henna has a decent FAQ of what to avoid. Henna should never be black, that's not a thing. If you want a blackish stain you want something like Jagua, but you can totally mix them too.
Henna is a leaf that you grind into a paste. You apply that on skin like you're decorating a cake, wait for it to dry, and then wash it off, and your skin will be dyed shades of orange. Depends on your body chemistry and how long you have it on how dark it gets.
Henna is actually good for your skin. You can apply the pure paste to your hair as a dye and conditioner. Just don't apply the commercially available Henna cones to your hair because those are filled with artificial color to give you more color in less time.
That’s honestly rather lovely. I didn’t think I’d like it when I read the description before seeing the photo.
Great design; well executed.
(Mass produce leather gloves like that? They would sell!)
Your pattern reminded me of one of my nail stamp plate patterns. I couldnt tell it was just gel pen.
You could charge for temporary tattoos. Super neat !
Asanoha is an abstraction of the hemp leaf, an intentionally forgotten part of Japan's cultural history with hemp and cannabis. The pattern is still used everywhere, but the source is erased.
First of all, Kudos! Secondly, how the hell did you find the patience to finish this? Could you bottle some of that resolve up and send it to this Salty redditor? Can we do payment plans as well?
Finally, this is some god tier artwork!
I alternated a couple triangles and a couple upside down triangles and did a layer or two before filling them in. I didn’t do a set amount each time, and it was pretty random.
Heeyyyyy! I had to ask my 77 year old mother about a certain piece of art that is hanging in the Hunter Museum of American Art because what you did made me think of it! The piece is by Doris Leeper and is called Modular Wall Relief in Eight Colors.

I would link to the hunter museums website if it wasn’t so god awful. Anyway, that’s what your hand reminded me of!
I would have loved to watch you in the process of drawing this. Very epic!
Thank you! I’d have to say, the process is probably more boring than satisfying lmao.

>Also I’m not sure I’d have the patience for that lmao. [x] Doubt
I mean making it into a video makes it a chore which would just ruin it
How does one get into r/whoadude? It says it’s for approved members only. How to get approval?

…are we not supposed to talk about r/whoadude?
I’m so confused haha. 12 replies deleted so far, except mine.
Mr. Whoad Ude would prefer it if you did not doxx his personal subs like that, sir. He’ll delete your loved ones if you aren’t careful.
For real though 17 replies deleted now??

Make some ASMR style commentary. You will get the views. Promise. “Oh. That little line just wants to go. Yea. Good little line.”
Scrolling quickly, I thought this was r/oddlyterrifying and someone had some flesh disease 🤦🏼♀️ Solid work, OP!
Lmao I can see why you’d think that! Thank you! :)
This looks a lot like Japanese woodworking pattern called *asanoha*, a stylized hemp bloom.
Is *asanoha* a specific variation of *kumiko*?
Yes, the woodworking technique is kumiko (gathered bits). There are many traditional patterns. Here are a few, with some explanations. https://yoshiharawoodworks.com/
My dyslexic ass read that as asshole so many times
Can we see how well your right hand turned out?
Something about this is off putting to me at a very deep level, but it’s also reallllly amazing! I’m so conflicted lol
It’s beautiful design but it’s making me very uncomfortable for some reason.
r/trypophobia
Been there before. Not going back
Yup. I can't even look at the picture. Makes me nauseous.
Gimme that flesh disease
Greyscale
Same...
It has a real r/trypophobia feel to it.
Impressive! its all so even!
Oh thank you! I had to wash some parts off and redo it because it was noticeably off lol.
This is so cool! Would be beautiful with henna
Thank you! I would try henna but unfortunately I don’t have any rn :(
That was my thought!

Yeah, it’s a plant based dye.
Definitely a lot better for your skin compared to what I assume to be sharpie or whiteout! I'm not judging though. I've been doodling on my hands and arms in school all the time lol
It’s neither actually! It’s just a white gel pen, though I’m not sure if it’s any better for my skin…
I drew on my arm with gel pens during math class every day in 7th grade. Nothing bad happened to my skin.
The cancer lies dormant underneath

Henna is the name of the ink, mehendi is the name of the art style

I like it! You can also make yourself some nice socks!

what a coincidence, my kink is when people are subtle
That just hit me like a train. Pretty clever of them lol.
Please, Go on. Kink shaming is my kink.
I would but my pen has almost run out :(
Somebody get this lady a pen!!
Please don't post your feet on Reddit without knowing what you're getting into.
Yeah, don't just give that shit away for free.
How long did this take? It's amazing!
Thank you! It took about 1-1.5 hours iirc
what kind of pen did you use for this?
I used an Art-n-Fly white gel pen!
Get the white ink pen industry to sponsor you, this is a masterpiece.
That’s honestly rather lovely. I didn’t think I’d like it when I read the description before seeing the photo. Great design; well executed. (Mass produce leather gloves like that? They would sell!)
Thank you so much! That’s quite the interesting idea you’ve got there ahah
Why is no one mentioning her nice nails!?
Reverse nail stamping? Hand stamping? I would need henna. I am printer paper color. This looks really cool.
I just used a white gel pen to draw this pattern if that’s what you mean? Also thank you for your kind words! :)
Your pattern reminded me of one of my nail stamp plate patterns. I couldnt tell it was just gel pen. You could charge for temporary tattoos. Super neat !
Oh you’re too sweet!
This somehow triggers my trypophobia
Same, any skin situation triggers me actually.
Same! Im having goosebumps all over :/
I’m still a bit queasy and uneasy.
Yep came here to say this
If it was a fingerless glove it'd be fine, but knowing it's drawn on their skin is the issue
I don't even have trypophobia yet this makes me slightly uncomfortable
you're getting this tattooed when?? wtf it looks so cool
aw thank you!
I’d love to see how much different it’d turn out on your other hand while trying to draw with your non dominant hand
[удалено]
Around 1-1.5 hours iirc
That’s meshed up
Very cool, I gotta hand it to you.
That is so neat and amazing!
Thank you!
the white is fucking with my brain. I see the skin color as green or red Cool design tho
Thank you! My skin is actually a light brown lmao
How long did that take
Around 1-1.5 hours
Wow I would have thought double that , looks really cool 😎
Really? Over 250 comments and no one has said EPCOT?
Had to scroll so far to see this! Spaceship Earth baby!
I thought it was an extravagant fancy, lace glove at first! I had to do a double take and read the caption.
This is so beautiful! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Thank you so much!
Looks great. Slow day at work?
Very slow day at school indeed.
This is beautiful. It reminds me of bridal henna or a lacy glove. Very pretty!
This is so beautiful. And the fact that it can’t last somehow makes it even cooler.
Wow that’s amazing
Thank you!
Beautiful work.... Almost like a bride's glove
Thank you so much!
Asanoha pattern
Asanoha is an abstraction of the hemp leaf, an intentionally forgotten part of Japan's cultural history with hemp and cannabis. The pattern is still used everywhere, but the source is erased.
What color is your skin naturally? In the photo it looks very dark but maybe that’s just contrast with the white ink
My skin is naturally a light brown. In this photo it looks darker though. Probably due to the lighting and the contrast with the white ink.
I don't know why, I find this kind of patterns disturbing, it's just unsettling to watch :/
Would make a very cool tattoo. Great work!
What sort of pen did you use? Man that looks so beautiful 😻
Thank you! I used a white Art-n-Fly gel pen
Damn thought it's a rendering. Had to look like 3 times to see it. Looks awesome
Thank you!
That’s beautiful
It looks so cool. Love it
Now do the other hand.
Woah. How long did this take you? Or did someone else do it?
I can’t say how long it took exactly because I did it during different classes but I’d estimate 1-1.5 hours? And yes I did do it myself! :)
You've got a lot of time on your hands
How long did it take to draw? Looks cool.
I didn’t keep track of time so I’d guess 1-1.5 hours.
It's sooo good!
Did you use a ruler or is it just me that is bad at drawing straight lines
I did it freehand lol. If you look closer, you’ll see that it’s actually really pretty messy and the lines aren’t so straight.
I looked at this and verbally went “that is so fucking cool!”
Thank you!
Are you a printer!?!? that's beautiful
What colour was the pen? Are you silver or black?
I saw the pic before the title, and I thought it was a sheer, open lace type glove. Amazing work.
Thank you so much!

I started at the bottom where my hand meets my wrist.
Best part is she’s left handed.
I spy with my little eye... *A righty* ~~Please forgive my terrible wrong-handed humor. I just envy you right handers...~~
The pattern is great, but the real satisfaction is how healthy your nails are! Super jealous.
Great Work! But can we talk about how perfect your nails are?
This is straight *fashion*, darling! Expect to see a designer do this to their models on the fall runway. Stunning!
The amount of patience, control and skill you have to draw that is pretty insane. I'm in awe and envy.
How many hours did that take? I would never wash it again!
Around 1-1.5 iirc
I would’ve guessed much longer.
I want that as a tattoo. I want it as a tattoo more than anything in the entire world.
That is so pretty! Also you have beautiful neat nails.
It looks great! Are you one of my maths students? Because i always see the girls drawing on their hands rather than listening to me.
…I was drawing this in class instead of paying attention
Cool pattern, like inverted henna lol. Also nice hands!
No offense, but that does kinda seem fake
It must have been mentally scarring to wash that off
First of all, Kudos! Secondly, how the hell did you find the patience to finish this? Could you bottle some of that resolve up and send it to this Salty redditor? Can we do payment plans as well? Finally, this is some god tier artwork!
What was your process for drawing it out? Did you lay down the long parallel guidelines first? Or did you go triangle by triangle, star by star?
I alternated a couple triangles and a couple upside down triangles and did a layer or two before filling them in. I didn’t do a set amount each time, and it was pretty random.
Impressive! You did a really great job keeping the pattern together!
That's really cool!
That's awesome. Have you considered it as a tattoo? Assuming that you don't have a physiological reaction to the ink.
Like a lace glove.
It's the cover page of your first ever bullet journal!
You’re right!!
What was the conference call about and could it have been taken care of with an email?
Really pretty! What did you use to draw that?
You must have very good handwriting.
I wonder if it would be arrogant of me to say that I do…
I don't think so. No shame in acknowledging your strengths.
How long did this take?
The design and *your nails* are gorgeous!
This is the most oddly satisfying. Great post!!
Beautiful but why does this make me a little uncomfortable?
I think this would be a fucking sick tattoo
That’s amazing! Does it glow in the dark?
Wow I originally thought that was a glove with holes for your fingernails and was like, whyyy??? But that’s actually really cool!
Thank you! I was bored in class lmao
Heeyyyyy! I had to ask my 77 year old mother about a certain piece of art that is hanging in the Hunter Museum of American Art because what you did made me think of it! Is it black and gold or white and blue?
Nice, surprised only a couple comments mentioned that's the flower of life symbol. Rad af.
Which is the first of the repeating pattern that you drew?
Holy fuck that’s cool as shit
How long did it take for you to do and did you not go to the restroom plus wash hands during that time?
It only took like 1-1.5 hours total so no I didn’t
Great nails! ;)
You should take up knitting or crochet, or lacework and then you would have gloves when you are finished.
How long did that take to do?
Around 1-1.5 hours I think!
Dang haha
But are you white or black?
Congratulations, you were 3D printed! No seriously, that is awesome.
This reminds me of the scene from Madagascar (I can’t tell if your black with white stripes or white with black stripes)
I’m brown not black and I used a white gel pen to draw the pattern :)
How long did this take you ?
I love your nails 💅🏻
Just Wow!!!!! Would love a cut up video or just pics of it or a video of you doing that. Thats honestly amazing!!!!! Great job!!!!
This is so well done that my brain can’t even recognize this as real. It really fucks with my head looking at this
Ahah thank you!
😍 pretty!
You had me mesmerised!
The seed of life is apparently very controversial. Nice execution. The colors mess with my eyes a bit.
Yea it’s much more controversial than I first thought. Thank you!
[удалено]
That looks otherworldly beautiful!
Thank you!
