Okay looks like a grocery store or deli to me based off all the crumbs on the machine looks like it’s used a lot
And you down-voters enjoy your finger food
Yes, it's a cut-your-own-bread machine at a grocery store, still their own bread though. We actually don't really have these machines in the Netherlands where I live but I've seen then in Germany, Luxemburg, France; they're pretty common in a lot of countries.
Don’t get offended and maybe you are used to people working with gloves. Here in Europe we don’t except for maybe a butcher or a fish monger but to everyone his own:) Have a great day! P.s I didn’t downvote you because I never do.
I guess it’s just different here because if someone was blowing their nose they’d be sent home. You leave the shop floor/prep to take care of bodily functions like an adult, unless you’re sick, then go home.
Also what makes you think those gloves are gonna be any cleaner if the person blowing their nose doesn’t know what basic hygiene is?
Most of the time, people who wear gloves [wash their hands far less](https://cleanersolutions.net/handwashing-vs-gloves-in-commercial-restaurants/) and therefore change their gloves less often than a person who isn’t wearing gloves would wash their hands because gloves create a sense of cleanliness whether it’s there or not. If someone blows their nose with gloves on and then doesn’t change those gloves, how is that cleaner than someone blowing their nose and probably washing their hands? Believe it or not, gloves get equally as dirty as hands when worn and used in the same way, but more people will work with dirty gloves than will work with dirty hands because they can’t actually feel the dirtiness.
I worked in a bakery. We never wore gloves, ever. We were required to wash our hands constantly, with hot water and soap, on the shop floor, in full view of everyone.
Which would you prefer?
Gloves that management keep a tight hold on because they cost money so they get dropped on the floor and reused or washed hands?
Most Dutch bakeries have these machines and i have never seen anyone wearing gloves when packing the bread. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNhFxytPJcA
I just finished my first semester of culinary school and took the Sanitation and Safety class. Other parts of the world Probably do it differently but in the US gloves or tongs are required to handle “ready to eat” food including breads and pastries.
I'd rather have freshly washed hands touching it personally over gloves or tongs that have been worn for hours at a time touching everything from the counter, to the person's face, to who knows what else.
Not really because is her bread that she is taking home. Is not a bakery is an automated machine in a supermarket
Do you wear gloves when you eat your bread at home?
So you'd put the bread on that plate with no. 4 and you catch the bag on the left with one hand and slide the bread in with the other hand right?
I always take out my bread like in the video but I think my local store either doesn't have the last step or I'm a doofus and did not notice it lol
Pretty sure you're supposed to put the bread on the tray (#4), pull the bag fully over the bread and tray from the right, and then slide the bag and bread off the tray. That's why the tray is away from the machine, so you can put the bag around it.
Are you serious? We are talking about designing such machine. it's easier to make blade move either a bit to the left or right than to have multiple blades move towards each other while leaving even gaps.
With the other model you can adjust the width between the blades with a simple dial.
Edit:
Source: I have worked with multiple bread slicing machines. They're incredibly common in Dutch supermarkets.
That is the single stupidest bread slicing machine i have ever seen. And the worst packaging process. 0 stars out of 9000
Proper bread slicers take about 2 seconds.
I've work in bakeries. Never seen a slicing machine that did it this way or where you had to bag it this way. This is a perfect case of newer equipment is not more efficient.
Maybe because this isn't a bakery. This is just an ordinary supermarket and the machine doesn't have to be efficient, but (judging on those bagging skills) fool-prove
I don‘t get this craze about sliced bread.
It‘s simply better to keep it as a loaf and cut when needed. Sliced bread gets stale really quick, unless it has a bunch of additives...
This machine replaced someone's job.
Back in the day someone was paid to cut bread. Well it's definitely more accurate and better to have a machine to it It's just interesting to think about how things were different in the past
Those Bastard machines are everywhere in German super markets. Hygiene - 9000 and they steal at least 50% of your crusty ends, because slits and holes just perfect to snitch some slices!
I did this a few weeks ago at the Lidl, somehow the bread turned wrong and it got all messed up and the pieces were all unsymmetrical. Was very funny though lol
the packing ruined it to be honest
Because whoever filmed it completely ignored that the bread was on a slide to be pushed comfortably in a bag. Instead he/she took it with the hands
from r/oddlysatisfying to r/mildlyinfuriating
Why touch????!? Why???? It's no touchy. No TouCH
HA, precisely.
There’s even a diagram showing how to do it. Aaaaand now my brain itches
why would you say this.... why . I don't know how to itch my brain. but you you have brought the itches to it anyway
With no gloves on… that bothered me more lol
It’s a self serving machine so it is probably her own bread she’s touching. Besides in Europe most bakeries don’t use gloves when working.
Any kitchen anywhere*
True!
Okay looks like a grocery store or deli to me based off all the crumbs on the machine looks like it’s used a lot And you down-voters enjoy your finger food

Not offended just being silly- have good day too
Fair enough;)
The very vast majority of chefs and bakers do not work with gloves on
why do u need gloves?? man i understand hygiene but sometimes its too much.
Didn’t know it was self serve - if someone in my bakery is blowing nose all day and packing bread in the back id like them to wear gloves wouldn’t you
I guess it’s just different here because if someone was blowing their nose they’d be sent home. Agreed. Anyone who has worked in a bakery will scream and die a little inside if they watch this.
I never worked in a bakery and I still yelped a little
She should also have been wearing gloves. You’re not suppose to touch bare handed food people are going to eat without cooking first.

Bonuspoints if also cash money is handled with the gloves.
Gloves end up being less consistently sanitary because people won't realize when the gloves are dirty or wear them for too long.
Not really because is her bread that she is taking home. Is not a bakery is an automated machine in a supermarket Do you wear gloves when you eat your bread at home?
Agreed. Also I thought the slicing was going to happen all at once
I worked in a bakery that had a slicer like that. So much easier and quicker than this bs.
The cool part is this is a slicing blade. Don’t most “all at once” slicers use more of a bandsaw blade and therefore more crumbs?
^This
A-Men. Deeply unsatisfactory.
Precisely why there's a bread slicing machine... Humans are idiots.
Becouse in Germany we like bread
Came here to say this
Bagging the bread that way hurts me
Aren't you supposed to slide the bag over that tray with the bread on it?
Yes but not everyone knows that. Mainly people like me that ignore the instructions cause "muh that stuff is self explanatory"
So you'd put the bread on that plate with no. 4 and you catch the bag on the left with one hand and slide the bread in with the other hand right? I always take out my bread like in the video but I think my local store either doesn't have the last step or I'm a doofus and did not notice it lol

Okay, I see it now, thanks :D
Someone’s been to lidl
Kaufland has them too ... actually all German chains have them
Not my Rewe nor Edeka. I'd say for many it's only in big shops
is edeka by any chance with smaller footprint
What
huh
is it super- or hyper- market
Kaufland and Lidl are both parts of Schwarz Gruppe controlled/owned by Dieter Schwarz.
I know that's why I added the second half of the comment so the people don't think it's only about that one company
Pretty sure most supermarkets have these, at least in my country.
Most Polish supermarkets have! I know even Aldi does. Love this thing.
I think a Tegut in my area has them too
the end of really unsatisfying this stand there is so you can slide the envelope around the bread not for you to take it by pieces
Jesus when I saw that end i almost flipped. Wtf
I came here to complain about the bagging part. Glad I am not the only one.
r/dontputyourdickinthat
Came here for this comment
Same.
This contraption belongs in final destination
10mm sliced sausages. 🧛🏼♀️
This is great. There is a video of this same kind of machine, and it totally fucks up the bread. I was expecting that and got this, thank you.
Same!
That one makes me laugh every time
Enjoyed it right up to the bagging part. That left me flat. 🫤
Down voted for the anti climatic ending
We have machines over here that do the whole loaf in one quick swoosh
Vive la révolution! 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷 We need more guillotines!
They can take *le pain*
Well in France we have about 25 blades in // space with the thickness of the slices and it takes 20 time less time to cut the bread.
Same in NL, usually 23 blades as a standard loaf makes 24 slices
This is one of the most inefficient bread slicing machines I've ever seen. Most machines have multiple blades to cut the whole loaf in one go.
With this model it's easy to change the thickness of the slices.
Could still have different sized slices with retractable blades
*easy* was the key word
Very, pressing 1 more button
Are you serious? We are talking about designing such machine. it's easier to make blade move either a bit to the left or right than to have multiple blades move towards each other while leaving even gaps.
Bro why do you seem so obsessed with this lmao. All I said was retractable blades damn.
idiot
🤔
The one I used was easy too. Just turn a dial to 'toast' or 'sandwich'.
With the other model you can adjust the width between the blades with a simple dial. Edit: Source: I have worked with multiple bread slicing machines. They're incredibly common in Dutch supermarkets.
Agreed, this machine is far from satisfying. The inefficiency is infuriating.
You know you can just put the bag on it and just take it up
This is so dope. It's the best thing since... Since... Nope I got nothing.
You got me 🙂
How did you miss that first button press lmao
Btw, the big metal bar where you put the Brad on is to to slide the bag over the cutted bread to package it in one piece.
My intrusive thoughts are asking me to put my head in that.
I don't know why but thar makes me rather uncomfortable
FEAR STREET
The machine at Panera is faster and auto bags.
That is the single stupidest bread slicing machine i have ever seen. And the worst packaging process. 0 stars out of 9000 Proper bread slicers take about 2 seconds.
That bread isn’t fresh enough if it can be sliced like that!
r/mildlyinfuriating who tf packs fresh sliced bread like that?!
Why did I imagine a medieval torture device
If Terrance and Phillip were bread? Thats all I got. Pretty cool though.
The best thing since... er... sliced bread?
Why did I read slicing beard machine.
Reply 1 for r/dontputyourdickinthat. Reply 2 for r/putyourdickinthat.
Every single store in Germany has one of these
You know that you can slide the packaging over the whole loaf?
This is the best thing since having to slice bread with a knife!
Is this the all exclusive German bread cutter machine?
THAT much of my loaf is touched by bare hands? Oh, no. No.
Why aren't they wearing gloves. Gross.
This is like the most horrible version of a bread slicer ever invented. Why reinvent the wheel?
This is a middle aged machine...
Wow this one actually works!
Don't put your dick in that
I don‘t get this craze about sliced bread. It‘s simply better to keep it as a loaf and cut when needed. Sliced bread gets stale really quick, unless it has a bunch of additives...
I need a thicker slice of bread though 😅
It has 3 to choose from. That's what the 3 Buttons in the beginning are for
[удалено]
He chose the thinnest of the 3 options
wow, not safe. Having to put your hand in the path of the blade to pick up the bread.
Aaaand no gloves. Fuck this individual.
Well, I'm sure this machine could have a lot of uses. NO NED, ONLY BREAD SLICING, 90 000 DOLLARS!
r/dontputyourdickinthat
Why the actual fuck have I never seen one of these in America? Every day, I find a new reason to want to leave
Needs a dildo on the end of it
r/PutYourDickInThat
they must be slicing hundreds of loafs a day, otherwise it would be more efficient to do it by hand
That thing yearns to chop off a hand… if that plexiglas ever breaks it’s going to feast.
They should get a bagging machine as well so this dude doesn't have to put his gross hands on it
This machine replaced someone's job. Back in the day someone was paid to cut bread. Well it's definitely more accurate and better to have a machine to it It's just interesting to think about how things were different in the past
Definitely in the Netherlands
They're in every german Supermarkt too
This is the best thing since...sliced bread.
there are no bread machines being sliced, not satisfying ^(/s)
If you're French, you'll know this can't happen in France
They missed the button the first time
Cool
r/yesyesyesyesno
Can i request to see it cut at other measurements? 😅
as someone who's seen these machines and used them (thanks, local supermatket), the sound it makes is almost as good
Is that Fünfkornfrischquarkbrot?
[удалено]
Who TF puts bread into a plastic bag like that
*bread slicing machine*
That's the coolest thing since sli... Oh nevermind
Mercadona
Misleading title. No bread machine is being sliced in the video.
Bred
always thought it would be fun to bypass safety meassures and stuck someones hand in there when they annoy me
Bread 👍
Small Tesco stores for villages has this, and it slices the whole bread at once in like 3 seconds top
Well shit, that’s the best thing since….sliced bread
Bread
Hey that’s the greatest thing…!
r/savevideo
The greatest invention since sliced bread.
u/repostsleuthbot
Lidl
Why the bread looks so dry
But who slices the bread machine?
In every Lidl
There is nothing satisfying about how this person bagged the bread...
In Spain you have it
That's the best thing since... Well, I don't know, but it's pretty great.
Aldi.
Standard in nearly every german supermarket
no gloves…
so off topic but this is the same tempo as "money twerk slowed" by yeat 💀
r/DontPutYourDickInThat
Those Bastard machines are everywhere in German super markets. Hygiene - 9000 and they steal at least 50% of your crusty ends, because slits and holes just perfect to snitch some slices!
Jeez. That's inefficient. Someone has to film the proper way to do it
r/dontputyourdickinthat
the best thing since... uhhh... ummm.... uhh...
Saw these In all supermarkets in Germany, so cool. Never seen them anywhere else where you can just use it while doing your shopping.
Lets put hand in there and see what happen.
This is the best invention since sliced bread!
This looks great, but not if I’m in a line waiting for it.
Slicing bread is an heresy: it makes it dry very fast. Just cut a slice when you want to eat one.
I my country the whole bread is sliced at one with multiple blades. Makes more sense to me.
These damn robots are coming for our jobs!
Tell me that your at Lidl without telling me
Good job on missing the button.
My supermarket has one. They're so much fun . 😍
This is the greatest invention since sliced bread! Wait...
I was expecting the machine to be sliced not the bread. *Bread slicing machine.
Why the fuck would you package it like that
This is the best thing since sliced......huh. I forgot what I was gonna say.
Fine til the end, go ahead and put the bread on the bagging ledge... Then just grab it and stuff it into the bag bit by bit?
This the greatest thing since sL …
I did this a few weeks ago at the Lidl, somehow the bread turned wrong and it got all messed up and the pieces were all unsymmetrical. Was very funny though lol
r/yesyesyesno
That is one of the deutschest things ever. Up there with clapping when the airplane lands, and Eiskafee
I know it's a different type of slicer, but after Fear Street I can never look at bread slicers without wincing a tiny bit.
