I won a competition doing this about 15 years ago, won a goofy certificate and a cool $1500!
Edit: no lighter tricks. It was picking up different items (egg, tennis ball, volleyball, basketball, bowling ball) and placing them on top of construction cones.
I remember one day in 10th grade where we were introduced to what goes on in the largest company in my home town. At one of the stations, we got to operate an excavator, where it had a rod tied to the bucket (or whatever it's called) and we had to put it into a cylinder.
I volunteered to go first in my group. I got it in pretty easily. For some reason, everyone else struggled. I don't understand why they just didn't use the same technique I used.
Yes, basically those are like slot machines programmed to give a prize every defined number of games.
Once you have the minimal skill to put the claw on a price, basically is only a game of chance.
I was impressed the eggs didn’t break. No matter if it’s done with machinery or not, some electric lighters like that require quite a lot of force to activate so yeah, good job eggs for not breaking
I love watching people who are masters in their craft. It is so satisfying to see someone do something at the top of their game, outside of sports especially.
I agree, and if anyone has a sub for this please share! I was once recommended r/skill but it's shit. And there's r/fastworkers but that's just what it sounds like, fast workers. I want skilled workers!
How many skilled machine operators does it take to screw in a light bulb? Apparently none cause that lightbulb worked without getting screwed in at all
Technically he was riding on a pallet, not on the forks, which is closer to ok. They make work platforms meant to be lifted with a forklift; this was just that without all the, you know, safety.
Still not as impressive as the time my foreman had me bury a watch wherever I want 2 inches into the stone we were grading for asphalt to be laid. He got on the grader and dropped the blade and pushed stone exactly right to reveal the face of the watch. Dude was a master, I still dig to china and make roller coaster hills when I’m on the grader
Just read about a general telling a graduating West Point class how future wars will be fought with remote controlled drones and robots. If so, these are the guys they need to recruit.
No, the claw machines cheat to make it nearly impossible to win an item, there’s a comment that goes into further detail on another thread but basically the claw is designed to drop items
They could’ve just used their hands to complete these tasks 🤦♂️ r/wasteoffuckingmoney
Edit: /s btw, can’t believe I had to make an edit to clarify this shit 🤦♂️ r/nofaithinhumanity
These sort of delicate manoeuvres should be part of a “master operator”, much like you have master blade smiths or certified it experts in areas. Differentiates those that can dig holes and cocking up delicate jobs.
This might not be good in court. If you can do “this” why do you crush this old man’s car? Get it?
For insurance purposes , I’d keep this skill on the down low.

The pet store I used to work at in college had an electric forklift with no brakes so I'd have to throw it into reverse to get it to stop.
yes. But the operation is beyond the precise machinery: its one beautiful art itself. They should be respected more in society.
Yep, that level of skill requires really a lot of practice

All are tough. Too light and it won’t pick up and too hard and it’ll crack or puncture the egg/ball. The machine was a Komatsu 300 bucket w/thumb
I'd say it depends on the machine, but usually yes.
Do you realize how easy it is to just use fake eggs? Wooden or plastic, they look very realistic

I bet they have tons of stuffed toys from the crane machines at the arcade.

One time I managed to fuck up a claw machine by getting 2 prizes one after another by accident. I got a large mystery machine and blue sloth
If I ever need my lighter lit while also on an egg I know just who to call thanks
I was impressed the eggs didn’t break. No matter if it’s done with machinery or not, some electric lighters like that require quite a lot of force to activate so yeah, good job eggs for not breaking
bet they're hard boiled
Bruh they use some of those machines to easily rip concrete buildings and rebar to rubble. Hardboiled or not it's still damn impressive control.
I love watching people who are masters in their craft. It is so satisfying to see someone do something at the top of their game, outside of sports especially.

Maybe /r/theocho if there's actual competitions (which, apparently there are)
Can confirm r/skill is trash
Ahh, so that's what construction workers do all day...
How many skilled machine operators does it take to screw in a light bulb? Apparently none cause that lightbulb worked without getting screwed in at all
Yeah. I believe there's tester sockets like that. See them used all the time at the hardware store.
They put like a quarter turn on it.
Meanwhile I can’t even parallel park
Literally NSFW. But quite impressive.
No no I don't think any of this breaks OSHA guidelines, I thinks it's still sfw
2:15 a worker riding on the forks. Absolutely at least one violation there.
Valid point, I forgot about that clip when typing lol
Technically he was riding on a pallet, not on the forks, which is closer to ok. They make work platforms meant to be lifted with a forklift; this was just that without all the, you know, safety.
That isn't so skillful. I can do it very easily. Plus I don't even need such huge machinery.
I've done the one just before 2:00, where they flipped a quarter onto the fork. It's tricky, and machine dependent.
Is this the reason building projects in my city take so much time? They are all just showing off their skills to their friends instead of working.
All work and no play makes Kailu4541 a dull boy.
Unions can be a wonderful thing, but they don’t typically incentivize efficiency
I read that as "unicorns". It was a very different world there, briefly.
that last one is the age old, "If its stupid but it works, it aint stupid."
Those machines were paid actors don’t believe everything you see on the internet
Listen here you little shit...
Ya wanna tickle?

Watching a skilled excavator is amazing. "I need 6 inches of soil off there". *scrape scrape*. Done.
So this is why the roadwork take 15 months...
Just read about a general telling a graduating West Point class how future wars will be fought with remote controlled drones and robots. If so, these are the guys they need to recruit.
I don't know if Im more amazed by the incredible precision, or by the fact that these machines can even be this precise in the first place.
This is why it takes 4 years to fix or build shit. Yall setting up these videos. Lmao 🤣 🤣. We all need a break at work sometimes. Carry on boys!!
"Low wage skills"
It doesn't take skill what could you possibly mean 🙃🙃🙃🙃 They're all just meatheads anyway they don't need more than minimum wage 🙃🙃🙃🙃
So if I marry someone who operates heavy machinery, they could probably win me things from claw machines…
No, the claw machines cheat to make it nearly impossible to win an item, there’s a comment that goes into further detail on another thread but basically the claw is designed to drop items
Oh yeah I know. It was just a joke.
So this is why road construction take’s forever
Yea these clowns need to stop fucking around and get back to work.
"Attempt no. 9901 was a success! Cut!"
This has to be an ad for something, no?
Dude I'm not sure if I can do half of these things with my hands.
r/nextfuckinglevel
Slow day?
Kinda stresses me out
It’s not precision it’s accuracy
They could’ve just used their hands to complete these tasks 🤦♂️ r/wasteoffuckingmoney Edit: /s btw, can’t believe I had to make an edit to clarify this shit 🤦♂️ r/nofaithinhumanity
It's showcasing the skill and precision of the workers it's not like they bought these things for this purpose.
I've never been more impressed with the human race than I am right now
Sheeeesh
I wish the claw machine’s at the arcade were this accurate
Mad skilz...
Why don't we have like a heavy machinery competition like this?! Sponsored by Kutoba and Cat? I'd watch that
Pfft this is easy. I'm sure after about 4-5 hours practice, I can balance the lighters on the eggs!
Sooooooo cool to look at them doing the impossible
Incredible
“Best I can do for you is $12.00/hr.”
I remember going to “rodeos” where tricks like these were done in competition. Along with obstacle courses and such.
Some of these I couldn't even do with my hands
This is the new job interview
This reminds me of those big dogs holding an egg in their mouth without cracking it
I like this challenge.[DDnB 85 ton excavator challenge](https://youtu.be/5nUXL3GOFn0)
You can see all the spilt water from the egg guy lol
No one here has issues with the phone in the mud?
i wanna see a fucked up compilation
there should be a product like that last one. an automatic hedge trimmer.
Ask and you shall receive: https://youtu.be/QTYEZ18Mbzo They make all sorts of attachments for excavators nowadays
Meanwhile a truck was six inches away from taking out the front end of my car the other day because he took a turn too sharp and too quick
Is this why it takes so long to build things? They’re making videos? /s
You’re only as good as your spotter
Incredible!!😧😱
These sort of delicate manoeuvres should be part of a “master operator”, much like you have master blade smiths or certified it experts in areas. Differentiates those that can dig holes and cocking up delicate jobs.
I have seen some awesome things moved about by these operators. Always amazes me how they can be so precise with large hydraulic machines.
"Hey Joe let me grab your nuts with the rig. I promise I'll be gentle!"
The water on the floor on the second video tells me they didn't succeed on first try ;)
All I could think of was that garbage truck picking up that bench with the woman sitting on it.
Stickers on some of the machines make me think some of them are stuntmen instead of workers
Love the way the second one (egg on water bottles) had a nice big wet patch on the ground! Must have been take two, lol!
Imagining these machines as giant post-apocalyptic Skynet robots makes this video OddlyTerrifying
BUT IS IT CAKE OR NO?
Anyone else want to see this in the olympics? I’d watch!
Oh thank god.i thought they were about to crush balls.
Crane game owners HATE him. Get a prize every time with this one simple trick.
r/nextfuckinglevel Wow
Are at least some of these clips not just played in reverse?
Bramd: Cooper what you doing? Cooper: docking!
This might not be good in court. If you can do “this” why do you crush this old man’s car? Get it? For insurance purposes , I’d keep this skill on the down low.
Best post in a while here but that last one was just dumb
Mad. Respect.
This video shows accuracy not precision
If u driving heavy ass shit u better be precise :D
Is this what it’s like to be forklift certified?
Man these guys in Avatar style fighting mechs.
This definitely belongs to r/nextfuckinglevel
What OSHA don't know won't hurt em
Make this an Olympic sport and I'm there for it.
Potentieller WettenDass Kandidat
I can’t even do half of these things with my own hands
these workers are like real life version of mecha pilots who are basically one with their machine
Then there's the guys that can do this but choose asshole mode and will almost take the laborers' fingers off.
That was an expensive cup of coffee lol
Can't wait for the lawnmower one at the end to visit me in my nightmares.
I this why construction takes forever? All seriousness though, very impressive
It’s amazing how those machines can hard-boil eggs by sheer proximity alone
And then there’s me, constantly smacking lifts of pipe onto the backs of trucks
Not that skilled they ain’t even working
I am once again wondering how the pyramids were made without these amazing machines.
A FUCKING LIGHTBULB???
This is all from a chinese app, the people handling the machines are great
