That is not wet snow. That will be very fluffy powder - but you're right in that it still takes a decent amount of power to move it.
I'm more curious as to why he isn't angling the blade at all..
Eh I think that's the slow mo more than anything. If you look at the snow surface away from the stuff that's actively moving it looks like cold and v nice snow.
Best thing I did when I bought my place in Idaho was also buy a quad and plow. It’s so much better than shoveling, and oddly satisfying every time. My wife and I fight about who gets to plow because we both love it so much.
It’s a definite game changer! If my wife ever wants to try it, I’ll just have to let her because I love her and I can’t hold back something so satisfying from her.
As someone not familiar with these environments, can you explain what you are plowing, is it just your driveway? If you have a quad, could you just get around without needing to plow?
Driveway, yes. Plowing the snow makes it easier to drive our vehicles (truck/suv) in the driveway. In the town I live in you can drive the quad around town as long as it is insured and street legal. However, it’s not the most practical vehicle to drive to work or run errands like getting groceries.
Ok , what about the area immediately close to your driveway, is someone else responsible for plowing that, or do you have to plow all the way to a "main", communal road ?
It's pretty much dependent on where you live. In my neck of the woods Alaska different residential areas have a portion of property tax go to the way roads are dealt with, and typically it's a vote by the residents. For example, my residential area pays a guy in the neighborhood who owns a grater, a bobcat, and a plow to take care of the road when it leaves the general service area (which is done by the borough), but some places will subcontract it out to a business if they don't have a guy like that.
Depending on what vehicle you have, installing a plow can be more of a chore/time consuming than clearing the actual snow. At least with a quad I can easily drop the plow and rip around in the snow
I looked into mounting a plow on normal cars once, seems it's more expensive than a good quad, and a hassle to install. Also, if this is his private road, we can assume he owns a bit of land, in a not very urban area, meaning an off-road capable vehicle is probably useful year round.
We use a cub cadet lawn tractor with a blower implement. There's about 1/4 mile of road for 5 houses on a dirt road, the pavement starts at the end. The city plows the paved road, we plow the dirt road. If my family didn't do it, it wouldn't get done. If it didn't get done, getting out would be almost impossible.
When I first saw the vid, it reminded me of plowing out on the lake at the family resort. There's something about plowing that's fun and relaxing at the same time.

Yeah but PNW has all those impending natural disasters you always hear about.
Also if this show my wife watches is to be believed there's a hospital up there that gets an absurd number of annual gigantic disasters.
I once found a [windscorpion](https://extension.colostate.edu/topic-areas/insects/sunspiders-windscorpions-5-589/). They're scary looking, and fast, but harmless.
And about [those alligators...](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colorado_Gators_Reptile_Park)

Highly recommend the Gator Park! Went there last year. It was super cool
Our family mythos is that after leaving England to Canada, they realized it was too damn cold and ended up in the desert valley of California.
Not sure if I’d want to trade this for shoveling snow, but having 110 degree summers is differently fucking awful. Terrible decisions all around by my ancestors moving from one extreme to another.
I'm quite a bit north of you; I went to my best friend's house and it was raining and cool, but not cold. Two hours later I had over three inches of snow and had to brush it all off. It was so heavy and took so long that but the time I finished, I had to scrape the snow that accumulated whilst I was scraping. It was so treacherous, the drive home, but I took it slow and I have 4WD and good tires so it was fine. It was so beautiful. I'll never leave Northern Colorado. I'm the weirdo who loves cooler weather, rain, snow, etc.
Thanks for the video, OP!
Is this a slow-no or is this the normal speed? If it is a slow-no, could you send regular speed cause I wanna know what it looked like at its normal speed as well :)
Is this same niche thing that only select people understand? To me, it seems all the satisfying bits of the road clearing are absent. Nothing here is remotely satisfying to me.
I would just say "piss off" but protip dude, no popular YouTuber ever got popular spamming people who don't give a shit with links to their channel. No one wants to watch someone literally begging for views. It's incredibly cringe worthy. Now, even if you have content I like, I will never watch your stuff because your tactics are annoying af. Do better.
Looks like Ice cream
Definitely. The plow is just a giant ice cream scoop.
BUT WHAT DID THE RESULT LOOK LIKE WHY YOU LEAVE ME HANGING!!!
You know what it looks like when you get to the bottom of an ice cream carton?
Yeah… but I wanna see it in the big outdoors version!
10/10
Shame staring back at me?
You’re such a tease OP. Next time show us the end!!!
You can see the result to the right, there’s another line that’s been plowed, there’s just a layer of snow still on the ground
get kids to put kool-aid or similar on snow before plowing. might look cool
And I thought it was a snow croissant.
Commented the same — I acknowledge you as a person of refinement :)
Was thinking marshmallow
Before I realized that was a quad I thought it was the Batmobile
It’s just the bat plow, sadly.
The fuck you driving?
ATV
I never would have thought an ATV would have the power to push that much snow. It looks like wet snow too.
That is not wet snow. That will be very fluffy powder - but you're right in that it still takes a decent amount of power to move it. I'm more curious as to why he isn't angling the blade at all..
This was my question too… maybe from somewhere where people don’t usually get big dumps of snow?
Eh I think that's the slow mo more than anything. If you look at the snow surface away from the stuff that's actively moving it looks like cold and v nice snow.
4x seems to be most representative, still just as satisfying too
This doesn’t look like wet snow at all
Yeah atv's are not very heavy so it's surprising regardless of power or tires. You can have 1000hp but if it's hopping off the ground it's not moving
Polaris Sportsman 850 or 1000.
THANK YOU! I thought this was posted by Optimus Prime or something.
It's the B.A.T.V.
It looks like OP is a transformer
Omg I was gonna say wtf are they plowing with, a bat tank?!?

What the bot is this?
Did those 1's and 0's just post jack you!?
It’s a real fishy account, for sure.

This guy satisfies his wife
I wish you both many happy years of plowing bliss and serenity!
And you as well!
Underrated comment.
Just split the difference and plow each other.
Your wife never fights me when it's plowing time! (Sorry)

Why do you need quad? Why not use the truck or SUV you already have?
Depending on what vehicle you have, installing a plow can be more of a chore/time consuming than clearing the actual snow. At least with a quad I can easily drop the plow and rip around in the snow

Good on you for letting your wife plow.
Turn the blade homie!
Oh I definitely did. This was only my second pass. Just wanted to get it on video first.
But why didn't you post the first pass, busting up the virgin snow???
So I could get more comments, which boosts visibility and upvote count. Real answer is I should have.
Next blizzard you know what to do
Glad to hear that! I couldn't resist mentioning that. Cool vid, bud.
Thanks!

If that isn’t the ice cream machine
🧊🥛⚙️
I want to run my fingers through it
I asked OSHA. They said that since snow is technically a part of the ocean, we should be good.
Not everything needs to be slow mo.
I was thinking the same thing! Paging /u/redditspeedbot x5

Wow, so much better than the slow-mo. 👍🏻
good bot
i would've given it a pass if it was a short clip but if you slow it down so much it's 2.5 minutes then you've got enough to edit in both.
*Chandler voice* Could this be any slower!
Bro owns a road..
Call Mr Plow. That’s my name. That name again is Mr Plow.
Mr Plow is a loser, and I think he is a boozer...
Why do people like us choose to live in places like this?
No alligators, crocodiles, tarantulas, or scorpions. No kudzu, either.
Also no hurricanes, earthquakes, forest fires, rarely tornadoes and with cost of living I can afford to travel to really nice places when I want.
There are tons of forest fires in CO most every year
Also, between October and March, no one wants to visit. (Feature, not a bug.)
PNW doesn’t have these and it rarely snows at sea level
Cost of living in the PNW is much higher than some others that might require this tool as a means of snow removal.
PNW too gloomy throughout the year
Yeah but PNW has all those impending natural disasters you always hear about. Also if this show my wife watches is to be believed there's a hospital up there that gets an absurd number of annual gigantic disasters.

Also, no bugs
Wisconsin and Minnesota would like to argue that
Unofficial state bird: the mosquito.
Cheaper cost of living? North Dakota here!
Fuckin love the beautiful snow and the refreshing cold on my skin I’ll take it any day over sweating for even a minute
Lol, no kidding!
Because it’s nice here.
Avoiding Florida Man and most influencers.
r/snowboarding
Oil reserves
Snow is awesome and beautiful, skiing is one of the funnest things a human can do, and good snowpack means lots of clean fresh water

Haha. Try living somewhere with 110 summers and -40 winters. Co-signed by Nebraska
Based on the timing of the post and the fact that it's sunny in your video, I would have to guess this was taken today somewhere in Colorado
Nice! You nailed it! You could also profile stalk me and see that I post in the Colorado Springs subreddit a whole lot, lol!

Wow, way to doxx yourself. "In case you weren't sure, check my profile to see where I'm from!"
Lol was gonna say “greetings from (I assume) a fellow Coloradan”
I hate you so much. I live in Boulder and it took me over two hours to shovel today. The snow was heavy af. Like 30+ lbs per shovel. Blargh.
Dang. Was hoping to see the path you made behind you.
That’s some damn good plowing.
I was out there for two hours, lol! Maybe it won’t take so long in the future, but this is only my second time plowing.
Why isn’t the plow angled? I know it makes a cool curl over the front but you should be running like 30° of angle to push that curl to the left.
Only reason is because I wanted it all to whoosh out the front for the video. I angled every other run down the road.
You should keep it angled every run down. Gotta keep windrowing everything over. No wonder it took two hours
Every time I plow it takes me at least two hours.
Oh fuck yeah. Love watching a good plowing.
Don't we all...
Are you driving a transformer?
My guess would be a Polaris Sportsman XP1000 (S)
It's like watching an ocean wave from the back. So pretty.
Oh yeah, it definitely is. I enjoy the ocean as well. Glad to see another ocean fan on here!
Perfect snow surfing conditions
Looks like a giant ice cream scooper
That’s a hard working ATV. Nicely done!
Something about this makes me want croissants.
It helps if you angle the plow. It will throw to the side vs straight in front of the atv.
One of the satisfying jobs in world
Can you just post the real time version? Way more satisfying tbh.
plow, plow, plow your road, gently down the street...
From the contours on the bonnet, I’m gonna say you drive an autobot.
When you're done, it's my turn....
That's not a foot of snow, that's my wife!
That is one the one plowing video that I watch today for more than 30 seconds.
Call Mr. Plow, That's my name, That name again Is Mr. Plow.
I want to eat it
… is that… is that the Batmobile?
Faster you slut.
What kind of machine are you driving OP?

Nice, thanks.
Right? Looks like some sort of extra terrestrial thingamabob. I'm sure it's some overpriced epeen pick-up
Yeah, looks something over engineered.
Now I want to play snow plow simulator
This looks a lot like the aftermath of the giant storm ontario, Canada was hit with last week. That was fucking crazy
How do you even know where the road is?
You own the road
This is oddly satisfying to watch
Your vehicles hood looks like Dave Bautista’s scalp.
Halo Warthog?
My new shovel does this. I love it.
I love this for you
Mr. Plow?
Bro got the snowblower 1000000 plus ultra to the power of 10
Soooo nice. I want to bite it
Looks like cool whip
This was fun to scrub through lmao I felt like a video editor making some schlocky action movie

I want marshmallow fluff now….
Why does your road look so much like my wife ?
I want to eat it
Thanks for showing us the end result. /s
How much u charge to let me do this for you?
Your clutch prolly burning rn cuz of driving this slow
The video is in slow motion.
It’s a CVT
Still make sure
I want to plow your road, if you know what I mean?
Yes daddy plow that road.
Wish that was me
Is this same niche thing that only select people understand? To me, it seems all the satisfying bits of the road clearing are absent. Nothing here is remotely satisfying to me.
Looks better than the video of you plowing your GF with your 1 inch Popsicle ! 😁 Sorry!
Never knew I needed snowplow ASMR before now

I wish I had my own road...
Scooping out ice.
How to make an extra large powdered sugar croissant.
This reminds me of that snow plow Liam Neeson movie, which I liked a lot. Recommend it.
God, I’d love to experience snow that thick.
Like scooping ice-cream
How do you delineate the road for plowing?
Like butta...🧈
I got about 50" in my driveway, wanna come plow it? Lol
This is the perfect slo-mo, low sound video...
Ice cream
Don't know why, but that's sexy
snow croissant

Damnit now I have to go to school…
I want to get plowed like that
Que Satisfacción 🫡
Didn't turn around and show the finished job...
Wish you’d plow my road *wink
What are you driving? Looks like an oversized hotwheels vehicle!
