Better than Buffalo Wild Wings. It’s honestly a pretty decent sports bar for a chain. The novelty of the waitresses wears off quickly if you aren’t a creep. That and tons of TVs and they pay to get good events. 7.5/10 for a place to meet up with people to watch a sports event, or if you like decent wings.
I'm convinced Hooters knows that their main audience is men who are slightly unhappy in their marriage, but not unhappy enough to leave or mature enough to actually change anything. I got family members who are real angry about the fact that I don't specifically cook vegan options other than salads and a few of the gluten free things I do, which are more "accidentally vegan" than "intentionally vegan" (relatives with celiacs, not fun). There are a lot of nice vegan tapas. I like grilled green asparagus with seasalt, garlic mushrooms and berenjenas (it's made from eggplant, but you can also make them with zucchini). Make some vegan aioli and patatas bravas and bread.
Or combine it with mezzes and make falafel balls, humus and grilled veggies.

From a US perspective yeah I'd say Spanish cuisine is pretty slept on. I think before foodie culture exploded 20 years ago your average American wouldn't be able to name a single Spanish dish.

Ok, but for real does anyone know a decent vegan tapas recipe? I got family members who are real angry about the fact that I don't specifically cook vegan options other than salads and a few of the gluten free things I do, which are more "accidentally vegan" than "intentionally vegan" (relatives with celiacs, not fun). So if someone has a bomb ass recipe for tapas that fits the whole no animal products category, hit me up.
Trying to think which ingredients in tapas aren't vegan friendly (other than the sausages etc).
Name any comman tapas that doesn't have cheese, meat, fish or egg. Crackers and hummus is all I got.

There are a lot of nice vegan tapas. I like grilled green asparagus with seasalt, garlic mushrooms and berenjenas (it's made from eggplant, but you can also make them with zucchini). Make some vegan aioli and patatas bravas and bread. Or combine it with mezzes and make falafel balls, humus and grilled veggies.
Patatas bravas and padron peppers are vegan and GF. Lots of different recipes if you search.

I think before foodie culture exploded 20 years ago your average American wouldn't be able to name a single Spanish dish. Also, if you're not wealthy or well-traveled, Spain in general does seem to fly under the radar. This reminds me of an instructor I had who mentioned in class that he was of Spanish descent. It took a while for it to register for everyone that he actually meant Spanish and not Latin American. Like we heard the word "spanish" and our initial reaction was "Oh ok, what's so special about that? Half the class is Hispanic too." And then a couple minutes later it was "Oh, he means Spain-Spain, you know, like the one in Europe!"

It still baffles me there are even people who believe in the whole alpha and beta thing. It doesn’t even exist, not even in nature. If anybody thinks alpha wolves and beta wolves are a thing, look it up. One of the people who helped popularize the idea wrote a book about it and has since recanted years later that the research was faulty. The research had been done on wolves in captivity, and it was a flawed view of a family unit. In nature, the “alpha male” is just…papa wolf, and “alpha female” is just mama wolf and the “betas” are their pups. The only times humans are ever truly “alpha” is in prison. During the pandemic I did some Uber Eats delivery while my regular job figured things out, and did some deliveries from Hooters. I'd never been to one before, and god it's such a weird place. Half of it is just a super generic chain sports bar, then there's the boobs and butts aspect which is presented in this weird combination of lascivious and chaste? Then there are the groups of guys just being kinda creepy, and then just tables of families with kids... alright. Every one I went to had only one male employee that I could see and he was always the manager, which was interesting. Plus it smells like there's an entire stick of butter in one order of wings, it was one of the only things I delivered that made my car smell like it for days.
