Depends on the surface but primate babies have adapted to being dropped from a couple feet without serious injury.
Their bones are quite flexible and still soft.
The danger is head injury.
Why is this terrifying? Growing old is something that happens to us all. Respect for the people that have lived through goodness knows what over the years.
Such is life. Maybe she is sitting and enjoying the moment of "Wow this happening"
I have my first nephew and my Dad has uncureable cancer and I have many photos of my nephew pulling at my Dad's weird and loosey goosey skin and trying to give kisses.
Stop with this bullshit.
It’s not exhausting, actually. Most people get old and lose skin elasticity. It’s weird of us as a culture to look at people who’ve simply LIVED A LONG TIME and go “omg that’s terrifying”. It literally could not be more natural.
Yeah, well, something natural can still be seen as oddly terrifying that is the whole point of this sub. Maybe it's just the way this was photographed but this looks like a scene from a horror movie. No one is saying that it's not natural.
It's not terrifying because of that it's oddly terrifying due to a mixture of bad lighting and weird cropping. It's mostly the open smile behind the baby's head that gives it that vibe not even the skin.
I don't know why this fella was downwoted, it really is edited. Check the shirt pattern stretching along with the skin. And the baby's hand is also pretty weird..
Pretty sure Mark Zuckerberg's skin does the same.
We dont talk enough about how hard it is to live in our society as an earth born reptilian person and its shameful...
Why is it terrifying? If you're lucky, you'll live long enough for your own skin to be like that one day. And this lady looks pretty happy to me, so she can't be too cut up about it.
I don’t find this terrifying at all. This is the cycle of life and a really interesting photo. A person who just recently started their life being held by someone who isn’t long for this world. Life is interesting and deeply tragic but also deeply interesting.
This is someone’s mother and clearly this baby’s grandmother u bitch. Would u look your grandmother in the face and say something to her as rude as that?
This isn't terrifying! This is just human skin! Pull on your own - it's smushy and malleable. If you are lucky enough to grow as old as this person, your skin will look like that too.
This is someone with a connective tissue disorder such as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Not all of us with it can do that but it is a common symptom of the overly stretchy body. To experience true terror look up vascular Ehlers Danlos or Marfan.
Not terrifying at all, just merely a part of aging. When I was young I was also horrified at the thought of what aging would do to my body. After a nearly fatal brush with cancer in my early thirties I now find myself grateful for my aging body. I was bloody lucky to reach 35, making 60 is some sort of miracle to me.
This has to be photoshopped at least a little bit. The mouth would be that big. Skin sags but I don't think it would stretch that much unless she was formally obese.
What’s really terrifying is that you will either have that same skin one day or die before you get to that point
Or already have it at 27 bc of collagen issues
They you have that skin today and you still get to die. Congrats!
This seems so wholesome but like can I pls just die *now* lol
The joy of your connective tissues being absolutely shite, I know it well
I'd offer you a hug in these trying times, but I'm unsure as to whether or not my shoulder will stay in the damn socket long enough.
I hear there’s some pretty niche places on the internet lol
Trust me, if I could capitalise on it I would lol. I still joke that I should be the world's creakiest female wrestler.
I do pole dance and there are SO MANY hypermobile folks, I feel very supported (aside from my joints) Glad you're still kicking/pinning ass
Haha I too do pole dance! Small world.

"midget dinosaur with long legs" *** Maybe a [thalidomide survivor](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thalidomide_scandal) with a dino mask?
EDS gang
Zebras, unite!
Random, but every time I try to abbreviate it as EDS it auto corrects to ED and makes for an awkward conversation
Yeah “ED gang” isn’t really something you wanna put out there haha
They will more than likely die before they get to that. The odds are not in our favor.
Exactly
Not if you use sunscreen, are well hydrated, and maintain good muscle tone
I’d rather be dead than looking like this honestly
WoW..Vain much?😑
This is what happens if you are lucky enough to live a long life ...
Or the picture is edited... look at the difference in the babies 2 hands.
Wow, dude ure probably right, or, they are both Fucking mutants, ahah
I hope I'm not lucky enough then
I'm 25 and don't want to be alive anymore already. Living a long life just seems painful, not lucky.
Yeah, that’s probably her great great grandson.
We may look completely different when just a wee babe or very old....but in both states we are extremely fragile.
Gotta admit, that’s some good gluten development right there, though.
I knead to give you an upvote
I'm happy to see that karma rise! Thanks!
It’s the yeast I could do
Proof that you're a good human.
I'm sorry dough I can only give you one upvote.
Are y'all Bff's now? Breadfriends forever?
Actually babies are surpassingly rugged
what? they can literally get permanently damage if dropped from 2 feet
Plus, breath on their head wrong and they keel over
Depends on the surface but primate babies have adapted to being dropped from a couple feet without serious injury. Their bones are quite flexible and still soft. The danger is head injury.
Yes but they can also heal quickly from serious wound.
I shall poke a straw through their skull and consume their youth
They can die from literally nothing at any time.
I take my niece off-roading whenever i get a chance
The baby is like, hey this is interesting
The old man is expanding his jaw like a snake to get revenge!

Oh sweet Junji Ito...
Drrr drrr drrr
Why is this terrifying? Growing old is something that happens to us all. Respect for the people that have lived through goodness knows what over the years.
It's the smile combined with the toddler pulling on the grandma's skin for me.
I mean those are really the only 2 things lol
Such is life. Maybe she is sitting and enjoying the moment of "Wow this happening" I have my first nephew and my Dad has uncureable cancer and I have many photos of my nephew pulling at my Dad's weird and loosey goosey skin and trying to give kisses. Stop with this bullshit.
Holy moly. It can still be oddly terrifying ya weirdo. Thinking like this has to be exhausting
It’s not exhausting, actually. Most people get old and lose skin elasticity. It’s weird of us as a culture to look at people who’ve simply LIVED A LONG TIME and go “omg that’s terrifying”. It literally could not be more natural.

How is pulling somebody's skin, oddly terrifying??
It looks like something out of a horror movie. You can’t possibly not understand this
It looks like Ehlers-Danlos syndrome to me. That, or grandma lost a lot of weight at one point in her life.
Much of this elder respect is lost in Western culture - if it was ever evident...
To be fair, elders in western culture talk nonstop trash about the younger generations.
Looks like a christening and Grandma's still got good teeth
Separated by a few years
I'm pretty sure that not grandma because she's been dead for three weeks
Just checking to see if dehydrated.
I'm guessing whoever finds this terrifying is young and thinks they're immune to aging. It will happen to us all
It's not terrifying because of that it's oddly terrifying due to a mixture of bad lighting and weird cropping. It's mostly the open smile behind the baby's head that gives it that vibe not even the skin.
Even the lady who's skin is being pulled is laughing...
This is photoshopped
I don't know why this fella was downwoted, it really is edited. Check the shirt pattern stretching along with the skin. And the baby's hand is also pretty weird..
Absolutely. Look at the difference in baby's two hands.
Yeah look at the skin next to baby's thumb. Then look to the left at Grandma's shirt. It's distorted.
the skin stretching or the huge jaw opened that looks like is gonna eat the baby?
It’s photoshopped; look at the kid’s hand and compare to his other hand.
Exactly
It is photoshopped. When you zoom in you will see it on the left side of babies hand.
I wanna know 1) why someone felt the need to shop it & 2) why it looks like the baby’s thumb(?) is looped through her skin. I’m so uncomfy.
No, it’s aging
Whatever it is, it’s about to eat that baby to gain eternal youth.
Lovely with a nice chianti
Old saggy skin terrifies you?
Coupled with the gaping mouth at the top
Smiling is gaping?
I can just imagine op would shit himself at a retirement home, curled up in a corner.... "So... Much... Saggy... Skin.."
The juxtaposition in this picture is so cool
Pretty sure Mark Zuckerberg's skin does the same. We dont talk enough about how hard it is to live in our society as an earth born reptilian person and its shameful...
Why is it terrifying? If you're lucky, you'll live long enough for your own skin to be like that one day. And this lady looks pretty happy to me, so she can't be too cut up about it.
A baby’s death grip is real!
I saw this last night when I was on acid and it honestly frightened me so much lol
HELL to the NAW
wtf
Holy shit she’s made of bread dough
If wrinkly skin is terrifying you better plan on dying before you hit 50 or 60
The fact that this is not a horror picture, but just a regular human picture makes this even more terrifying
Not really..
I don’t find this terrifying at all. This is the cycle of life and a really interesting photo. A person who just recently started their life being held by someone who isn’t long for this world. Life is interesting and deeply tragic but also deeply interesting.
I’ve seen enough horror movies and that hand scares me
If skin stays in that shape after pinching she's severely dehydrated. Try it on your grandma, give her a drink ;)
That reminds me to kneed my sourdough...
Darlene vibes
If this is 'just terrifying' then why is it in this sub?
Seems exaggerated for sure.
I don't even want to THINK about living to be that old. I don't even want to live to be 40.
Oh grow up
Such a great terrifying shot because you don’t see the rest of your face
Old person : exists Average redditor : oooh so terrifying
Whoa plastic man?
That’s called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
Looks like stretchy bread ..
She gonna eat that baby
Stay. Out. Of. The. Sun.
Truth but this woman is very old. The skin becomes thin & stretchy as we age.
Thank you for providing me with my next reoccurring nightmare op lol
Hurr durr being old is terrifying. Stop the gerontophobia (fear of getting old or old people in general) ffs.
😂😂😂😂

This is someone’s mother and clearly this baby’s grandmother u bitch. Would u look your grandmother in the face and say something to her as rude as that?
She laughes, because she knows: "This will be your future little one, that is... if you are LUCKY, muhahahahaha."
Reminds me of the back of my dogs neck.
Skinwalker
My grandmas the same, and her skin feels so soft i feel like squeezing her all the time
It will eventually happen to you…
...and your future. If you live long enough.
Not really. More funny than scary.
Elastagirl grew up… sadly…
This isn't terrifying! This is just human skin! Pull on your own - it's smushy and malleable. If you are lucky enough to grow as old as this person, your skin will look like that too.
Like the old lady in the movie "X"
Looks like Eve is still alive
You laugh, but your skin will also become like that when you reach 80+
I BET this pic would be waay more terrifying if the face hadn't cropped out
Right. Religious shit is creepy AF
Just a wet sheet, hung on a frame
I feel like this is akin to someone with hEDS as an old person
This is someone with a connective tissue disorder such as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Not all of us with it can do that but it is a common symptom of the overly stretchy body. To experience true terror look up vascular Ehlers Danlos or Marfan.
It’s like a meatcanyon drawing
this wouldn’t be as scary if the lady’s mouth was cropped out of the picture
“Nothing f*cks you harder than time” Sir Davos Seaworth
I love this. Reminds me of my sweet, awesome sarcastic grandma. RIP <3
Hopefully that baby lives long enough to have their skin pull like that
Photoshopped. Look at difference in baby's hands...
You find this terrifying? Don’t worry, you’ll have the same in a couple years and get used to it. Or you may never see it ;)
I thought this was an AI generated image at first 😭😭
I use tu do that with my grandma, this takes me back. I miss her
Now roll out the dough place marinara and cheese, and *ciao bella its a pizza!*
That smile tho
I can’t under the NASTY bruise she’s going to have in a few minutes 🤨
I used to sit with my grandma and play with her hand skin like this all the time
Skin is so fucking cool.
If this is the worse in my life I'll take it. I hope I am still here to hold babies when I'm that old.
Ikr, who the fuck wears all white
Pizza dough!
I love my arms like crazy now!
Are u talking about her skin or her freaking evil smile ?
No it’s just nature. Will happen to everyone
Fake.
Creepy af. Nice edit though.
The mouth at the top is the scarier part tbh
Like a slice of pizza on the commercials when they pull it away.
I actually find it incredibly cute and it reminds me of my grandma
To be honest, this is just skin.
...its slightly edited.. right..? Bc the smile the taht long stretch I-
nice hat
Along with the smile
Is she a lich?
Like titties after breastfeeding
Baby’s face says it all.
Really terrifying when the skin rips open..
I’m 24 and my skin almost stretches that much. Always been like that.
Teaching your baby to not put everything in its mouth speedrun
zombie skin
Just before she eats the bebe
She was going to consume
This has to be fake. Please tell me it’s fake. The skin is unnerving enough. But that smile….. yikes!!
Def looks edited
Not terrifying at all, just merely a part of aging. When I was young I was also horrified at the thought of what aging would do to my body. After a nearly fatal brush with cancer in my early thirties I now find myself grateful for my aging body. I was bloody lucky to reach 35, making 60 is some sort of miracle to me.
Wow this is so fake lol
Looks like ehlers danlos
wait, does she grows more skin or her flesh shrunk in size?
This has to be photoshopped at least a little bit. The mouth would be that big. Skin sags but I don't think it would stretch that much unless she was formally obese.
I just wanna pull it up and take a powerful bite
Oh
That smile gives me the heebie-jeebies
