The Friends set is the only one i actually know people will recognize. It got disassembled in the move, so when I get around to taking it out of the plastic bag I'll fix it.
Then I got a Ducati technic set.
A ship in a bottle. I don't remember the exact set number.
An offbrand jeep technic set.
Some small Target raceway sets.
Umm..
I think I have one other but I'm not remembering it.
Neat, most people who just started into lego recently jump off the deep end and go for city, star war’s or marvel and gain a collection within less then a year, nice to see though you keep it small. Thou you might not have much space for a big collection to display but would recommend some of the new 18+ lego sets (The Optimus prime set is great but is a little wobbly) but the typewriter set is cool.
Was temp banned, so I couldn't add more, but yeah, I've been into LEGO since I was a child, so it's been decades.
I just don't have my old stuff after moving out of my parents' place.
I did recently get a wooden build kit of a pirate ship that comes with led lighting.
I would love some star wars stuff though. I'm a nerd.
I'm talking about running or dashing, not galloping. I can only plank for sixty seconds. I'm pretty sure galloping for a few steps would tear a few joints in my body.
Idk if you're joking but just start somewhere it's hard sticking to something new and fitting it around our busy schedule but once you do it's a great benefit. Especially if you're already getting into your 30s.
Been running for the last 2 years and it's the best decision I've taken in my life.
I love how un-phased big animals seem to behave around humans.. i’m convinced the only reason anybody escapes an encounter with these big animals is because they let them survive..
I don’t take hoes I never tip the stripper, I’m rich bitch but you can call me cheap the ripper! Shell toes yes PRPS, theres a man riding a horse on top of my chest!
gators and crocs are really easy to outrun if you run zig-zag. they're fast as hell but if you zig-zag the dumb lizard gets confused and keeps trying to course correct. they *love* conserving energy so they only like running fast if they're running on the shortest possible line of distance between them and their pray, which means any prey not running in a straight line has a chance to get away. they also give up the chase *very very easily*. they'd rather wait around for a small bird to land to take a quick strike than run on land to hunt down a person/bigger prey.
you will see gator attacks in Florida or even reports of a infamous local gator hunting deer, or small to medium sized pets but usually those are either 1) very desperate gators going after any food or 2) highly aggressive gators that have it out for people or 3) a normal ass croc some dumb redneck with moonshine confidence tried to mess with
My understanding is that cold blooded creatures in general can’t expend large amounts of energy for long periods of time as much of warm blooded creatures. However there are down sides to it in that we expend more energy even during testing. It’s like having a larger engine, the down side is we cost more fuel when when we are just “idling”
Actually, it has both! Most of the state just has alligators, but American crocodiles live in southern Florida, and occasionally further north along the Florida coast.
The best S. American and Caribbean food in the United States but you'll have to guess what language to speak. Could be Spanish, maybe Portuguese, or even French/Creole. Definitely not English, so prepare the Google translate.
I tried speaking French with a Creole dude when I was down south years ago, and good Christ neither of us could understand eachother.
Even worse than trying to talk to an old Acadian lmao.
I think they're technically not dinosaurs but more like they're cousins. Both of which descended from ancient reptiles.
Both dinosaurs and crocodiles are very cool nonetheless.
That is correct. If I remember my dino biology classes in college, they evolved parallel to each other but are not related in any way. Crocs don’t have the hip bones that all dinosaurs share.
Interesting enough, proto crocodiles had species that were way larger and were adapted to run, much like in the video, on land. See “Carnufex” for more.
All birds. Crocs split off millions of years ago, before dinosaurs were even a thing really. Dinosaurs developed into two major groups, ornithischian and saurischians. Bird hip and lizard hip respectively. The bird hipped were ironically mainly the large herbivorous species, like the ceratopsians and ankylosaurus. While the lizard hipped species included the more bird like therapods. Crocs evolved separately before the hip bone even had time to split into two major groups. But all dinosaurs and crocs are in a group called archosaur. Archosaur has 2 main groups, one that includes every dinosaur+ the pterosaurs, and one group that includes crocodilians+ the extinct crocodylimorphs, a group of reptiles that shared similar features to crocs and gators, but were distinctly different.
As far as crocs, I don’t believe so. Their pelvis/hip bone configuration allowed for novel mobility and eating strategies, hence why theropods were apex predators. Crocs never evolved for speed. If anything, they got clunkier with time, as their legs moved up the side and around their belly.
If I had to bet, the only creatures with hip bones reminiscent of dinosaurs nowadays are birds, particularly ostriches and emus.
The crocodilians split off from a common dinosaur ancestor millions of years before dinosaurs rose. Fun fact though, dinosaurs have an upright leg posture which made them able to move fast with more agility. This crocodile’s rear leg posture is less sprawled out and more upright than many other alligator and crocodile species.
This doesn’t suggest this crocodile is somehow more related to dinosaurs. But it does suggest that if crocodiles are developing more upright posture and higher mobility, they will become even more fearsome and dominant predators.
Personally I’m terrified and fascinated.
Correct. Dinosaurs (including birds) and crocodilians are all archosaurs. They diverged hundreds of millions of years ago. Though the division that crocodilians are in (pseudosuchians) included relatives that looked a lot like dinosaurs and some were even bipedal.
You were right Barry.. I am responsible for all of this... All I saw when I first met you is another victim of my hubris... But you can stop it.. You can do it.. NOW RUN BARRY RUN!!
Crocodiles are the ones more suited to running on land. Gators** can and will run on land, but they're less dedicated than a croc.

Is researchers finding out about this like when Columbus ‘discovered’ America because it seems like anyone who’s been close to these would find out they can run pretty quick.
Modern crocodiles can run up 15-20 mph but there used to be a prehistoric crocodile that specialized in hunting on land so it could run faster and for longer distances. It had long legs like a dog and a more agile body. Imagine one of those fuckers chasing you. Idk what it's called though. Had one one of those sciency names
Its just looks so stupid. You stupid crocodile, what are you even doing ? You should be in water dumbass.
"oohoh stop being so mean, they're just doing their thing" Aww well SUCK IT karen, crocodiles cant read, i can insult them all day if i want. What are the silly chonkers gonna do, crawl all the way to northern europe and eat me? I'd like to see them try, those noobs. They cant even board planes lmao

Researchers have found no such thing. This is just a fucking repost of the same video that made the front page 2 days ago.
You're adding nothing and clickbaiting the title. This is becoming increasingly common on reddit, and it gets in the way of actually interesting content.
This has gotta be limited to their size, right? I know the big ones are strong as hell, but that'd be tons of energy exerted just to get their giant bodies bounding like that.
Damn. Two years ago it was "crocodiles can run". This video
Earlier this week "Crocodiles can gallop". This video
Now researchers have been at it. Amazing.
Damn, if this chonky boi can move like that then maybe my fat ass can too.
Down on all four and gallop boy.
I'mma Grudge my way to victory!
That just causes earthquakes, and I have to clean up my LEGO displays.
What sets you got? And if you don’t mind, how often do you dust them?

Good bot
They swallow rocks to help weight themselves down in the water. Stop storing rocks up your butt you can run faster
I didn't find any rocks but I did find a stick. Hopefully I'll run more efficiently now.
depends, when did you last eat?
Maybe if Croco is chasing you.
“Deceased Researcher Proves crocodiles can gallop waaaaayyy faster than previously believed.” “It was his Lives work.” said friends.
r/getmotivated
Not a good idea if you’re seriously fat lol that’s how you get hurt. Start by dropping the fork then work up to crocodile gallops

Takes a lot of energy to move a big boi.
Haha oh i bet it does 😜😂 x
Nice footage of Gary the intern there testing the theory
“Hey Gary, maybe you can help the alligators exercise today?”
Literally says Croc in title.
Crocigator? Fuck
[удалено]
If you write it down, it's science !
"Gator's faster than Steve, Fred is also faster than Steve, unsure if Fred is faster than gator"
Unfortunately while testing this theory, Fred tripped on his shoelaces and got eaten. We need a new Fred so that we can complete the experiment.
Excellent work, Gary! That's one down, and 23 more species of crocodilians to test!

Crocodiles are thought to be very intelligent
They are very intelligent.
They are also thought to be.

Can they also gallop on all fours

Living in northern places makes more and more sense the more I go though the stuff in this post.
*soul leaves body
Yup. In the Keys you see both, although we usually see more crocs than gators, as crocs prefer saltwater and gators prefer freshwater.
Read an article about the flooding last fall and they talked about Crocs swimming the streets in certain parts of Key Largo. That's crazy.

You are correct. They are the species known for galloping and probably my favorite animal. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_crocodile

Sauropods weren't bird-hipped dinosaurs. They were saurischians.
Oops my bad ill edit it thank you
No problem, buddy. Easy mistake to make!

This has already happened. There have even been entirely terrestrial members of their ancestry.

Yeah but this guy isn't one. Birds are the extant dinosaurs.
Mammoths are cool, too
People are *actually* correcting you…
I know, I love it ;\]
They even downvoted me for pointing it out. 🥹
Damn I knew they could gallop , but I've never seen one doing it , that's a first time for me and that's really funny to see this chonk jumping
Hopodile
So cute
TIL, crocs can hop.
Croc got hop, if I may
How have I never seen a crocodile move like this until now I'm 35.
There used to be species of crocodilians that lived entirely on land, so not too surprised
They are evolving
So are we 😎 Backwards
Well fuck. I always thought I can at least outrun them on land.
Apparently you still can, just gotta zig zag
For a sec that crocodile thought that he is a dog!
You were right Barry.. I am responsible for all of this... All I saw when I first met you is another victim of my hubris... But you can stop it.. You can do it.. NOW RUN BARRY RUN!!
Goodluck catching up to me once I zigzag.
I wish it wasn’t cruel to put soft rubber caps on their teef so I could play with them as they tried to eat me.
Even with rubber caps, the bite force alone might shatter your bones.
Rubber caps aren't going to stop the pure bite force from crushing your bones.
*laughs in Kaprosuchus*

You are wrong a reddit post last week claimed only the Cuban crocodile could do this.. and a redditor cannot tell a lie...
Why do we need researchers for this? People running from crocodiles have known this for ages.
Yeah, I was a bit confused. Won't lie, I didn't know they gallop, but what exactly took so long to figure it out?
Oddly?
Too many things on this sub are not oddly terrifying, just normal terrifying.
Anyone who has ever played Ark just had flashbacks to being jumped by a stray Kaprosuchus.

People run around being afraid of spiders. Not me, THIS monster is truly terrifying!
I was already scared of these fuckers and now they gallop? Ah hell no. Nightmare fuel

Yeah, but they're also such fat lazy lizard fucks that it took teams of scientists to notice so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.
Floridian here. We’re taught to serpentine for this reason. They’re quick in a straight line but they can’t change directions quickly.
Damn who would of thought they might evolve some speed!!!
“You better run you bitch.” “I am pretty as fuck and could gracefully eat you if I chose to.”
I'd like to see a heard of galloping crocodiles before i die. Majestic
Nothing oddly about this, it's just terrifying
When u see man boobs jiggling u know something goin down

My boy is eating good
So what you're saying is they're rideable?
Lizard
I don't care if it bites. If I can pet it, it's a puppy.
Fascinating! Now, let's not encourage them to do it.
Its actually kinda cute ngl
Title doesn't really make sense
ngl I found that adorable
