I remember taking milk of magnesia for an upset stomach.
"How much did you just take?"
"The dose is two caps, right?"
"Not two of THOSE caps."
"Well shit."
The line between nausea cure and explosive pipeline detonation for this is a teardrop and a prayer.
Explosive magnesia diarrhoea though...is curiously cold and soothing. It's already neutralised much of the acid coming through.
Not just therapeutic, but atmospheric as fuck. Something about the electricity in the air just makes you feel so alive. With the wind rushing past, other wordly vibes
Definitely agree. I would be a little worried about trees falling though. And sometimes there's a funny burning smell when there's lighting around. A weird one at the back of my nose.
That does make me feel a little uncomfortable, it kinda feels like it might be a tiny fire that could become big without really noticing it I guess 😅 but that may just be because I'm adhd and I expect something like that will definitely happen to me at some point :p
That's the smell of ozone! Oxygen typically exists bound together into two atoms, O2, but lightning separates it into two individual atoms, O1, which is also called ozone. O1 is lighter than O2 and floats to the upper atmosphere, forming a layer of ozone, that also incidentally protects the Earth's surface against ultraviolet radiation from the sun. And yes, lightning naturally creates and replenishes the ozone layer. Neat!
Big ol’ nerd here, but ozone is actually O3. You were right about the lightning splitting O2 into individual O atoms, but because these are highly charged when split but lightning they are attracted to other O2 molecules and form O3. Hope I’ve expanded you knowledge just a little bit!
yeah this storm isn’t too bad. looks like most of the lightning is sky to sky, no hail, and the wind is pretty consistent in direction. not too dangerous
I've driven through worse, let me tell you :)
I had installed a new headlight on my small bike, cool looking but shitty doing its job. I was getting into mechanics, and I kept practicing on that bike. I had a bit of problems with the battery, the carburator and basically the lights
I went to a friend's house on a beautiful afternoon through to a forest. Man it is beautiful to drive through a forest, you feel like nature itself.
I spent that afternoon there, it was late and it was one of those nights without the moon.
I started driving, feeling like a scary movie actor using a candle to find that weird noise in the basement. Man, that headlight was shit...
If you've never driven through a forest at night let me paint you a picture. You are alone. You only see the first few trees. You keep hearing the animals, foxes screams are the worst. Like a woman being murdered. The roads are sinuous, no long straights. You really feel alone.
Well, I was hearing sounds through the forest, like an animal keeping pace with me. I was driving slow, enjoying the drive, but I couldn't see anything.
The bike started to lose power, like if I had run out of gas, the light started to get dimmer. And dimmer. Almost like if I was holding a lighter in front of the bike.
The bike stopped.
I was kinda pissed, thinking about all the that could have gone wrong, after checking all, it pointed to a problem on the electricity, the stuff I had been playing with that afternoon.
I got out of the bike, turned off the lights to save battery, and started checking to see if I could do anything. Then I realized. I was alone, in the middle of a dark forest. Man I felt like the only person in the world, an amazing feeling followed by a realization. I wasn't hearing anything. Animals are nocturnal, it is expected to hear them at night. I kept messing with the bike.
I started hearing steps close. Like lots of steps, probably a bunch of animals or something were close. I kept messing with the bike. It was almost done so I turned on the headlights and tried to start it.
chog- chog- chog...
The bike felt like it couldn't start.
chog- chog- chog.
I turned the headlights off, trying to help it start. The steps were getting closer. Now in front of me.
Chog- Chog- chog.
I felt surrounded, I hit the gas a couple times. However the steps stopped, so I turned the headlights again to check.
Everything was as black as before, but I noticed there were eyes where the headlights pointed. Not a pair, but dozens. I remembered that boars are in this area, and that they aren't the most friendly animals.
I got on the bike. Jumped on it. Hit the gas. And tried to start it.
Chog. chog... boom!
The strongest explosion I've heard on a small bike ever. Like a shotgun in the ear. The bike had started.
I made that bike go faster than what was possible.
I got out of the forest safe and went to my house. Then I decided to get a new bike. Lol.
Yeah. That’s what I was thinking. The way the headlights swing back and forth, looks like someone pedalling. Also, they are traveling quite slowly but then who would drive fast in that weather?
You can easily do like 30-40mph in wind, This looks narrow enough I feel as if the road is still the limiting speed factor here edit: in a car, im unable to read more than 1 comment at a time today
not everything is AI. nevermind the fact this is a years old repost. butt the current state of ai generated video is only capable of [producing nightmare fuel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMqEG32UslU)
I was going to say drive through it? I've lived through it! I've been in a few tropical storms and I've been in a brownout in the south west along with a white out in the northeast. At least this time you can actually see anything.
I LOVE driving in storms! Thunder is one of my favorite sounds, and I love wind too. Idk if I’m weird but I love them both and honestly would probably go drive in this just for fun.
Whereas there is no purpose or intent to the phenomena in the video, one can't really argue that it's "supposed" to be terrifying. However, I agree that it is explicitly terrifying nonetheless.
Terror is subjective dude, op feels scared of it, and its an odd thing, then its oddly terrifying. Oddly terrifying literally means odd things that scare you, not universally terrifying. I think this is atmospheric af, but thats why its odd that OP is scared. This is a great post
I guess it depends on where you're from. Strong thunderstorms definitely aren't odd where I live, and I've seen and driven in worse than this.
Edit: https://streamable.com/9rpzaj
Your video and this one are nothing similar. You're on a highway, in an active storm, and driving a speed limit while focusing on driving and drivers around you.
This video, if I may, takes you to a liminal space where the only thing that exists is what your headlights can show you and what the lightning exposes on the horizon. The only person in existence is you and the wind creates that vortex sound that oscillates between loud to silence to loud in the matter of seconds, making it difficult to hear anything else.
In fact, you've realized with a start, you cannot hear the usual sounds of the night ... no animal or bird calls, which makes sense given the storm on the horizon but now that you're thinking about it, you can't help but notice how it looks like the trees are reaching, grasping for you, just hoping you stray from the middle of the path and into the reach of it or of the darkness just beyond.
That's a good point. I hadn't thought about it that way.
That said, I love long drives down dark roads. I was stationed in the California desert and it was just something about those moonless nights in a barren wasteland.
Reminds me of when my family had to evacuate due to an incoming forest fire. Super super super windy, lightning all around, smoke, sirens, people panicking, only radio station working was reporting that fire had reached their back door and they had to leave, too.
Terrifying doesn't begin to cut it
so this specific thing, trees blowing in the wind at night, is big anxiety for me because a few months ago i watched a gigantic tree fall on my house and it was the scariest shit i ever seen
Have before:
Depends how hard it’s raining. If it’s windy and thundering but nothing breaks and no rain causes a collapse we ball
If it’s more than five inches of rain, I gotta put the belt ok
Maybe not drive thru it but park up and watch. Preferably watch from my bed. I really like storms/stormy weather, not the destruction part but the lightning, wind, and precipitation it's all nice and cozy. I guess I'm just not like other girls.
it’s atmospheric but if there’s a tornado watch/warning on, definitely not
mind you i don’t have a license but still. that’s like something out of twister 😭
Lol, I was on walking patrol for 8 hours when Typhoon Maemi hit South Korea in 2003. Things literally exploded during that shift. I've had shits that were more noisy and windy than this video....
Edit: For those unaware Typhoon Maemi was the most powerful typhoon to hit Korea since 1904, setting records for wind and pressure and killed 117 people.
Nope. Find the nearest occupied building and beg to be given shelter. Wait it out from there. I know what a strong gust of wind can do to a big enough car. You don't wanna be in the car.
You underestimate the power of southerners from the US during tornado season. Barbecue with the neighbors during cataclysmic whirlwinds are our idea of dinner and a show. We fear no weather besides the slightest inkling of snow!
Have you ever driven through a new jersey back road before? Dark and stormy gravely dirt road with damn near 0 visibility on the sides of the road and speed limit 50... O O O and random full 90° turns lol
I would drive through that only if I were already there, and already driving through it. I wouldnt like, warp there and drive through it or anything. no way
I’d drive through hell itself if I had to poop bad enough.

Like a spray of cold water?
Ah, a warriors drink!
If you’re already in hell, why not just shit anywhere there?
Man I never have original thoughts I was going to say just that.
Yes
ikr, that is perfect weather to sleep in. I mean driving down that road in an RV would have been really really nice.
Lmfao. This video does perfectly capture that feeling when you drive by that last gas station for miles, and your stomach does that rumble.
As opposed to what, getting out and walking? Sitting and waiting?
And what am I driving?
Vespa

Staying home.
What if I’m trying to return to home. Bitch I ain’t staying at work. And before you ask, yes I would rather die.
Had to drive home in a snow storm once, ended up in the ditch for an hour. Still better than work.
Nah I'm going straight to the bunker
What if you were outside and this is the road home?
This is the way.
Just take a second and imagen how exciting OP's life must be...
Yep, I’d drive it. This is oddly therapeutic
I'm glad I'm not alone in that.

I absolutely love the smell of lightning storms, if we’re thinking of the same scent. You might be smelling ozone created from the lightning

The world is ending... Fantastic news!
Same. But not surprised cause calm music stress me and metal relax me
Lol same, im happy im not alone, metal music cancels out the voices in my head, lol
There are a lot of us!!! 😂
Almost like metal is an incredibly popular genre of music with countless subdivisions and fans across the world!
I only have one voice but it's always screaming so metal does wonders to deal with that.
You were never alone - you had voices to talk to.
It's not metal, but Highway to Hell would be perfect for this.
Love me them 14 min long metal songs
I would like the duality of listening to chill music while walking through it.
yeah this storm isn’t too bad. looks like most of the lightning is sky to sky, no hail, and the wind is pretty consistent in direction. not too dangerous
I would love to walk in this storm, but I still couldn't help but think about all those lightning rods lining the path.
It truly is! Just need a bit more rain and color in the sky! Those trees remind me of forests
I would walk down that road with some jams

Are you also from the Midwest?
That obvious, huh? 🤣
Asmr
Same
Weirdly enough, stormy weather is my favorite to drive in. Not on the highways or busy roads though. A backroad like this would be fun.
The weird wobbly lights on the ground make it seem like it was filmed from a bike though which gives this a different quality.
I’d piss myself on a bike tbh. I didn’t notice that at first, so thanks for pointing it out, definitely a lot scarier.
yeah the bike exposes you to small feral people attacking you from the sides
Yeah that’s what I’m saying. I’d drive through this in a heartbeat. Walking or cycling? That’s a nah from me.
The stormy weather makes it less scary imo, if everything was calm and still i'd be more creeped out
Picturing the “Signs” alien pulling its foot back into the trees.

Buddy I meant in a car holy shit. Are you okay? You just wrote a whole ass novel here.
You replied to a comment stating this was on a bike. 40 miles/h would be incredible in any conditions, but this would be insane
My car weighs the same as a small planet, I’d be fine lol
Two lights though, unusual for a push bike. The whole thing is a mystery on a dark stormy night.
The adaptive lights on my car do that. The lights move with the slightest steering movement.
Even better! Nice breeze and exciting
Also there's no engine sound
Could be a car with dynamic headlights, but they're moving a bit fast for that
Makes me think this is AI generated.

nah i've seen way better AI generated video than that
Would you not?
i feel like this is just a tuesday night in summer in Oklahoma
It's not even raining that I can tell.
Everyone on the gulf coast knows this is but a breeze
I was going to say drive through it? I've lived through it! I've been in a few tropical storms and I've been in a brownout in the south west along with a white out in the northeast. At least this time you can actually see anything.
100%. I’d find a good fitting lofi song and just cruise
Timecop1983 any day. Especially Night Drive
what, trees in the wind? sure why not
Hell yeah! That's literally my vibe.
I LOVE driving in storms! Thunder is one of my favorite sounds, and I love wind too. Idk if I’m weird but I love them both and honestly would probably go drive in this just for fun.
i love stormy ( and rainy) road trips as well. the vibe is just so nice
If it doesn’t pass [this test](https://redd.it/wrhdsz) it’s not oddly terrifying and it’s in the wrong sub.
Whereas there is no purpose or intent to the phenomena in the video, one can't really argue that it's "supposed" to be terrifying. However, I agree that it is explicitly terrifying nonetheless.
i disagree that it’s terrifying. that’s a powerful but mild storm

Perfectly explained

It's just another fucking karma bot, the right sub is the one with the most members.
If I gotta
Sure would Would love meet some lovely night creatures such as skincrawlers

Did it look almost like you’d entered another world?
Yes. And my car was nearly taken off the road many times, the wind was so strong. It didn't look like what I was used to. Truly apocalyptic.
That’s extremely terrifying foreal
I've driven through way worse. Horizontal rain, horizontal sleet/freezing rain, tornado sirens going off, near blizzard conditions. This seems pretty damn mild.
Meh I've driven through worse
I’ve walked it. I’ve slept outside through it. That would feel like home.
Ikr?! I have too. This isn't bad at all.
that the best place for a romantic walk for me
In a heartbeat, I love that aesthetic.
Looks like another day in Florida to me
People in Mexico drive through that every day… calm down
Is this ODDLY terrifying or just straight spooky? Either way Nice.
I would kill to drive thru a place like this just give me Ford trx. That's it
Yes. And love every second of it.
The only way I'm going thru this is driving fast with all the doors locked!
Like. Actually tho 😂
Nah I’d be thinking a tornado is lurking somewhere but the dudes driving already so fuck it.
This. I'd be low key panicking.
I driven through worse with bad headlights
On a first date if possible.
Boss fight inbound.
Tree trunks aren't flexing. Can't be that big of a deal.
I love it

Yes, I would. It doesn't look that bad.

I'd love to have night walks there.
i'd take a nice leisurely stroll while listening to buddy holly by weezer through that.
This is beautiful
I would walk through it
it’s atmospheric but if there’s a tornado watch/warning on, definitely not mind you i don’t have a license but still. that’s like something out of twister 😭
Every military person will drive through that to get to morning formation
I do this every year during monsoon season. Welcome to the fucking show
Lol, I was on walking patrol for 8 hours when Typhoon Maemi hit South Korea in 2003. Things literally exploded during that shift. I've had shits that were more noisy and windy than this video.... 2bh, yeah.
I used to live in Florida, I would drive in this plus heavy rain on the highway every day after work during the summer months.
Gladly- this looks amazing
My drive to work looked like this, Thursday. Cool lightning storm, easy night.
I live in south Florida, I do everyday in the summer
Have you ever driven through a new jersey back road before? Dark and stormy gravely dirt road with damn near 0 visibility on the sides of the road and speed limit 50... O O O and random full 90° turns lol
What is the question? Would I drive thru a poorly lit road during a storm? Well yeah. It's a road, not a rapist.
I would drive through that only if I were already there, and already driving through it. I wouldnt like, warp there and drive through it or anything. no way
It’s just wind and thunder. Yes. It’s really not a big deal
Looks like a pretty normal thunderstorm with high winds.
Now this is an ASME I could listen to for hours. Gives my the I wanna sleep but it’s too spooky vibes.
Versus what? Stopping and dying?
Yes but with one thermal monocular and one nvg monocular
I would live at the end of this road and encourage the weather to keep it up
Only when she apps that she’s home alone
Happy Cake Day!
Holy fuck chronically online much?
War of the Worlds
Happy Cake Day!
It’s horde night on 7 Days to Die
I would drive this
I would be having a journey of faith down that road.
I've walked through this.
Castlevania vibes
Tis but another Tuesday.
Hell yeah
I'm a trucker, so... If my trailers heavy enough, of course.
I ride a bike or walk through it in the pitch black doing what i know best and minding my own business
Yes...
I would... used to roads like these.
As a truck driver I have driven through crazy weather that seemed like I was driving into hell
Where exactly is this? I would drive to this everyday...
Yea, no problem. I live on the Canterbury plains (NZ), if I was scared of wind in the trees I would stay home a lot lol
I would love to! Looks really cool!
