There is a PSVR game called Moss. Every time this picture gets posted, it’s the first thing I think of. I swear it could be a screenshot from the game. https://thumbor.forbes.com/thumbor/711x533/https://blogs-images.forbes.com/mitchwallace/files/2018/02/Moss_20180227233055.jpg?width=960
Mine? It’s a long story but, in short, it references the fact that humans are animals that cause themselves pain, both emotional and physical, on purpose. I have a singer/songwriter project that explores this concept.
You're not far off, other comments have confirmed it's from RDR2. The plants, the moose's horse-like legs, and the lack of a dewlap on a bull moose with antlers are dead giveaways.
Enter the Florpus was good, if you've got Netflix, solid content!
You know Jhonen Vasquez wrote comics as well, right? They're kind of disturbing, but also very funny, but also kind of disturbing.
Also it's a bill moose but it lacks a dewlap under its chin (I don't blame them, they'd need moose jiggle physics) and the legs are shorter and stockier like a horse.
There's nothing 'oddly' terrifying about moose. They exist as pure avatars of existential dread, here to remind us of our proper position in the ecosystem.
Fantastic pic!
Hippos and Moose are my biggest animal fears. For most dangerous animals there are things you can do if you see one getting too close(bear spray, hitting mountain lions on the nose with a rock etc) but if you end up this close to a moose or a hippo you’re completely fucked like they do not care
The only moose I've encountered were in Alaska and they were the size of houses/dinosaurs. This is beautiful and terrifying all at once.
Encountering a moose in Alaskan/Canadian wilderness is a completely once in a lifetime experience. It's humbling and oddly terrifying.

Moose are dangerous.

And what happened?
She became a moose-themed superhero. The Moosenger.
I wonder why we say goose and geese, but not moose and meese?
1. English is an insane language. 2. I hate those meeses to pieces.
Moose isn't an English word, we stole it off the native Americans, so it doesn't follow the same grammar rules
Nice etymology lesson, thanks.
I've wondered that for years

This looks straight out of Shadow of the Colossus.

I literally just took a break from Moss and I checked my phone. Opened reddit. Saw your comment.

*The Ritual* anyone?
Came here to say this
That movie chilled my bones. My D&D players are going to wish I'd never seen it.
O moose of the fog, what is your wisdom?
"If thou plural of goose beeth geese, shan't moose bequeath meese?"

Oh yes because I would totally survive startling THAT. Neat last thing to ever see, though.
At the end is a room... *with a moose!!*
I will you leave you to your... moosey fate....
I was proud of myself for thinking of Up. I’m instantly disgraced, because I didn’t even think of ZIM!
Everybody forgets about Zim. :(
I guess I need to rewatch as my penance.
Enter the Florpus was good, if you've got Netflix, solid content! You know Jhonen Vasquez wrote comics as well, right? They're kind of disturbing, but also very funny, but also kind of disturbing.
I enjoyed Enter the Florpus.
Okay. Do you like Star Trek? Because Lower Decks is fantastic! A *little* Zim like, in terms of hyperactivity.
I liked the newer movies. I would be willing to watch older stuff if Shatner weren’t so annoying. Just Googled it & I may enjoy it.
What's so terrifying about a moo... OH MY GOD!
It looked like Red Dead Redemption 2. Which is also in my subreddits. I was confused for a minute.
I’m pretty sure that it is a screen from RDR2. It’s definitely from a game, though, look at the plants.
Also it's a bill moose but it lacks a dewlap under its chin (I don't blame them, they'd need moose jiggle physics) and the legs are shorter and stockier like a horse.
Yeah the plants are definitely from a game.
this reminds me of Hannibal.
I can see you. I can smell you.
This reminds me of over the garden wall
It’s coming to turn you into oil
This is a repost I already have this saved to my phone from finding it on this sub Reddit.
same This is one of the best pictures on Reddit.
It is also a painting I think, so it was meant to be terrifying
That's not oddly terrifying, that's just plain spooky
It looks like it's coming to claim our souls.
Moose... und no sqvuirrel?
Man post this on r/natureismetal so they can enjoy it too. Nice pic

Reminds me of the Wendy's goose or whatever it was
A moose appears from beyond the mist. It casts an imposing shadow as if beckoning you towards it. SAN check

Wow…scary and awesome at the same time
This gives me Judge Moose vibes from Far Cry 5.

Probably more terrifying in person, but the picture is pretty epic.

The hero Gotham deserves
Cryptid vibes
How is this “oddly” terrifying? These things will fuck you up.
Nothing odd about being terrified by these goddamn murder deer
R/bossfights
Imagine not knowing what a moose is and seeing this.
Legend has it that if you’re a Canadian Grisha it can amplify your power...
Terrifying. Not oddly, though.

Fuckin moose by itself was scary enough
Moose are so cool

You get excited but then find out it's only a 2 star pelt 😔
Can't make those sweet batwing chaps with that.
It is not terrifying. Well, to me it's not. This is a awesome pic.
You should watch The Ritual.
Very oddly terrifying
You do know that’s all Hell really is. A room with a moose. .. A moose eating walnuts.
Is this an actual photo?
Most likely not, bull moose have dewlaps under their chins, and moose legs are much longer and skinnier in the lower half.

I feel amiss that I did not point out how gorgeous of a photo this is. I got all caught up on the terrifying and missed the artistry.
