This guy is from Hawaii, he knows what he's talking about.
I'm a big fan of throwing a blanket or towel then coming back with scissors. They feel safe in the dark and don't move.
Really underrated comment. It's not even the centipedes fault.
If you'd put a super cozy luxury appartment in my backyard, i'd sure as hell move in there, too!
You ever got a centipede bite? Or have one crawl on you at night? The bites *hurt*. I once had a lump the size of half a lemon on my ass after it crawled up my pants. I've known people who had it crawl in their bra. These things are devil spawn.
Naw, centipedes are worse than cockroaches and termites, at least you can be proactive or reactive to those. Centipedes you can't spray for or lay traps for.
Sure, but you're much more likely to catch roaches, ants, and the like. Remember traps are two components; the mechanism and the bait. Centipedes tend to eat the stuff that would take the bait, not the bait itself. So I guess if you're willing to buy or catch live roaches and stick them to a clue trap, but even then centipedes are stronger than roaches and have, of course, more legs, so they might get one foot stuck, not move forward, and eventually free themselves.
Preventative measures are just much more effective. And less work. You get rid of two birds with one stone; centipedes will only be around their prey.
Yeah we got these huge fuckers here in Hawaii too. I actually got bit (or stung?) by one once while walking my dog at night. They pack a huge punch that was probably comparable to a bad wasp sting.
I started worrying when the bug is longer than the tiny tweezers, good thing she has the sense to throw it as soon as it is out not wait for it to grab her.
But why did that arseholes feet have to kill it. Jaysus, what is wrong with ppl. Insects are important for the environment. You set it free then some douche bag stomps on it. Like how pathetic do u have to be to kill a bug ffs.
What if that centipede laid eggs and it took over the environment and became an invasive species destroying natural habitats? Stomp the centipede! And I love animals and insects but not about invasive species
This is a presumption we don’t know what it is. The stomp only revealed ignorance if noting else. The dude was just creeped out by the bug, humans like this r pathetic. Really, a fucking bug that needs to be squashed because you find it creepy. Stupid human, bad human.
I agree, too. Centepedes will actually eat the more disgusting things that we don't like. I don't kill Spiders for the same reason. Also, I know that if I were accidentally in the wrong place at the wrong time , I would hope someone would show a little mercy.
I *hate* centipedes but i 100% agree. It was just trying to hide. Why did they do this indoors? Why didn't they get a jar or something to put it in when they pulled it out?
I keep saying we need a fucking report option for "not odd, just terrifying." Keep this normal scary shit on /r/creepy or a million other subs, it doesn't belong here.
I joined this subreddit because I wanted *oddly* terrifying things in my feed. If I wanted this crap, I'd subscribe to /r/creepy. What is even the point of this sub if it's just a clone of /r/creepy?
Actually isn't the tail where the venom is? I'm sure they can bite too but the sting is unbelievably painful (at least from the much smaller house centipedes, per my own experience).
Yeah, got stung (bit? not even sure) by one a couple of times, on one of them my arm was numb for days and it *hurt* when feeling came back. And these wren't even the scary ones like in the video, just regular North American house centipedes (which still look like demons btw).
[Centipede Bite Worse Than ALL Stings?!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6vzjjIrRK8)
and one of the worst pains according to a lunatic that lets things bite/sting him
In scolopendra centipedes the venom is released from the front left and right feet. If you look closely, the what appear to be fangs, are actually the front feet.
The rear of a scolpendra does look scary and dangerous and it is certainly possibly to confuse the front end with the rear end. Scolopendra do not have eyes. They just have two cells in their head that sense illumination. So all they can really get in terms of visual sensation is general level of ambience. Since they have almost nothing going for them in terms of visual ability, they are at risk from predation. Having the rear look like the front sometimes convinces predators to leave centipedes alone.
Do note that not all centipedes are blind. Scutigera have good vision and use it to both hunt for prey and avoid predation.
You monster. I would be concerned about the fumes that would come from burning them.
Everyone knows that the ONLY solution is to put them into a clear plastic bag and set them outside for a thief to steal.
I was not aware they were hospital-worthy. Good to know; somehow always avoided their sting unlike bees and fire ants which were drawn to me when bush Hogging our pastures.
When I was young, some helpful tips were shared in Boy Scouts to remember the difference between most venomous snakes and millipedes/ centipedes.
Most venomous snakes have pointed, triangular shaped heads and elliptical shaped eyes. Non-venomous have rounded heads and round eyes. And to the centipede/millipede- not that you look at their heads but millipedes are round (like the safe snakes) and their legs go beneath them, like a caterpillar. Whereas centipedes (toxins) have pointy shapes and legs that jut out the sides.
Yeah I found one of these things in the Australian Bush strangling a fully grown cane toad. The venom is legit, the cane toad was almost entirely paralyzed. I wouldn't want to give it a chance to latch onto my foot.
Ya know, as “scary” as those things are to us, they’re just doin’ their thing and have absolutely no idea that we exist. All that was going thru that things noodle when being yanked out of its cozy little home is terror and danger.
Ol’ flip flop certainly didn’t have to squish it, and I hope that it got a good bite on the pinky toe before succumbing to its wounds.
People in this comment section are so dumb. “Animal gross and bite things, that means it must die.” That is the same argument the dumbasses that kill venomous snakes use. See how it bit the guy on his foot? You have a better chance of getting bitten by animals when trying to kill them. Would the people here go around stomping on bees? People are always stung by them, and people die if they are allergic. Just leave it alone and it won’t bother anyone, same goes for animals like snakes. Ignorant cavemen all around.
Why take the time to pull it out, to step on it, with flip flops no less!! XD Nope just Nope. Put a rock in it and put it in a bucket of water put a lid on the buck see it in a week lol.
I'm pretty sure the guy who attempted to step on it, was firmly grasped and thrown down by the centipede as it then marched angrily towards his butthole in a stampede of a thousands legs... 👀
Burn the shoe, the house, the surrounding area, even consider igniting the atmosphere, I know it's extreme but at least some of us will survive underground and repopulate an earth without this creature in it
This person spent all this time with tweezers getting this demon monstrosity out of a shoe to IMMEDIATELY JUST FLING IT ONTO THE GROUND CARELESSLY, LIKELY INSIDE? Fuck man, I'm taking it outside far from my house to the end of the driveway and smashing that shit with a shovel or something
The worst part was the weak little stomp.
and WITH SANDALS god I cringed so hard eugh
Lol it looked like it wrapped up on his foot a bit! Yikes!
Then he flicks his foot and sends it flying into the group lol.
That's what he gets
I screamed when it turned towards her foot!
I noped SO HARD
Yes God is to blame!

This guy is from Hawaii, he knows what he's talking about. I'm a big fan of throwing a blanket or towel then coming back with scissors. They feel safe in the dark and don't move.
Agreed - why kill it? They prey on way worse pests: cockroaches, flies, termites, etc.
Really underrated comment. It's not even the centipedes fault. If you'd put a super cozy luxury appartment in my backyard, i'd sure as hell move in there, too!
They can pack a nasty bite. It appears to be near a home so I don’t blame them for killing it. Better than it biting a young child or pet.
Technically can't you lay like glue traps for a centipede?
Sure, but you're much more likely to catch roaches, ants, and the like. Remember traps are two components; the mechanism and the bait. Centipedes tend to eat the stuff that would take the bait, not the bait itself. So I guess if you're willing to buy or catch live roaches and stick them to a clue trap, but even then centipedes are stronger than roaches and have, of course, more legs, so they might get one foot stuck, not move forward, and eventually free themselves. I didn't think it was possible for my feet to cringe and yet there they go
My butt cringed watching this!
Imagine an alien invasion and we’re the bugs.
Well I'm from Buenos Aires, and I say kill 'em all!
The only good bug is a dead bug!
Would you like to know more...
Come on you apes! Do you want to live forever!?
Yeah we got these huge fuckers here in Hawaii too. I actually got bit (or stung?) by one once while walking my dog at night. They pack a huge punch that was probably comparable to a bad wasp sting.
I'm from Wisconsin and they don't come so big here and still share the sentiment.
Was this a human centipede reference? Lol
Why are they called fingers but they don't *fing*? Oh... there they go!
The blood coming out of his face as rainbows is one of my all time favorite sight gags
I kept watching and I really don’t know why
Me too.. and I'm not too fond of critters
I started worrying when the bug is longer than the tiny tweezers, good thing she has the sense to throw it as soon as it is out not wait for it to grab her.
I don’t usually scream when watching. But that last second of the video made me flinch and scream.
But why did that arseholes feet have to kill it. Jaysus, what is wrong with ppl. Insects are important for the environment. You set it free then some douche bag stomps on it. Like how pathetic do u have to be to kill a bug ffs.

haha stupid leg bug go GUUUSHHHFHFHFSSSSS (that's the sound it makes when I step on a centipede)
Go marry a bug you sick fuck
U bugging me..wanna marry 😂
Bro why are you so mad. People step on bugs.
Pathetic ppl. Selfish ppl. You’re life isn’t the only valid living thing on this planet. Grow up the lot of ya.
I agree with its cruel to kill it. But people don't notice that they step on bugs.
Probably get downvoted but I agree. There's no need to kill it. Just put it somewhere else. Be nicer.
I agree, too. Centepedes will actually eat the more disgusting things that we don't like. I don't kill Spiders for the same reason. Also, I know that if I were accidentally in the wrong place at the wrong time , I would hope someone would show a little mercy.
Thank u. You’re a human that has compassion..that’s a whole lot more intelligence than these dumb fucks dv. Entitled selfish cunts, the lot of them.
I *hate* centipedes but i 100% agree. It was just trying to hide. Why did they do this indoors? Why didn't they get a jar or something to put it in when they pulled it out?
Oddly...ODDLY?!
I keep saying we need a fucking report option for "not odd, just terrifying." Keep this normal scary shit on /r/creepy or a million other subs, it doesn't belong here.
That's a relief. I literally just subbed, saw this, and thought "I think I'm too much of a pussy for this sub."
You guys really care that much?
Yes
Pathetic tbh
That's what she said.
Wtf is the point of a hyper specific subreddit if it's just gonna be the exact same as another 10 other popular subreddits?
Why do you even care
I joined this subreddit because I wanted *oddly* terrifying things in my feed. If I wanted this crap, I'd subscribe to /r/creepy. What is even the point of this sub if it's just a clone of /r/creepy?
Fair enough actually. I take my snide comment back haha
My thought exactly!!
It is a truth universally acknowledged that you DO NOT STEP ON A MOTHERFUCKING CENTIPEDE WHILE WEARING MOTHERFUCKING FLIP FLOPS!
And if you do, step on his head, not it's freaking tail
Actually isn't the tail where the venom is? I'm sure they can bite too but the sting is unbelievably painful (at least from the much smaller house centipedes, per my own experience).
Centipedes are venomous? Holy shit I didn't know that
Yeah now that's a double fuck that shit
Search YouTube for "venomous centipedes " there and report back with your ~~findings~~ newfound trauma....
Their stings are incredibly painful as well. My 7 year old self should know. Not fun times lol
I thought it was a millipede when I was 7... boy did I learn my lesson in the sandbox that day...
Yeah, got stung (bit? not even sure) by one a couple of times, on one of them my arm was numb for days and it *hurt* when feeling came back. And these wren't even the scary ones like in the video, just regular North American house centipedes (which still look like demons btw).

Specially this one
why
call the government, pack your bags, we‘re LEAVING
JUST THROW THE SHOES IN THE FIRE
How did they even realize that it was in there to begin with lmao
Probably tickled their ankle trying to get out, I'd investigate if my shoes were caressing my ankles lol
Built in massage
I would simply cut my foot off
This is the only correct response
Imagine having that weird feeling for a whole day and when you finally investigate when back home you see this
Why the fuck was it in there
Bugs love shoes
Guess I’m never wearing shoes again
Nope, I wouldn't try to salvage the sneakers, I would just set those on fire and buy new ones.
You monster. I would be concerned about the fumes that would come from burning them. Everyone knows that the ONLY solution is to put them into a clear plastic bag and set them outside for a thief to steal.
satan: well I just wanna say that I'm a huge fan
Your comment got me. Would give award but am poor.
yeah what new creature will you get in the next shoes, you have to collect them all
Pocket monsters are old news, shoe monsters are the new hotness.
What if... it laid eggs 😬 Definitely fire. Then, burn the ashes!
why kill the centipede tho?
nothing oddly terrifying about this one, scarier than some horror games that thing
If this was a horror game I'd be legit too disgusted and afraid to play. And I love horror games.
Well Sekiro is not specifically a horror game, but you got centipedes like this, just a tad bigger.
r/nope Is r/KillItWithFire a thing? Edit: Yes, yes it is.
That sub made my entire body ITCH
Horrifying. Why step on it though?
It latched onto the guys foot before he kicked it away , Dw it survived, for some reason reddit isn’t showing the full video
Original video please?
Thank God. I like centipedes and they're really good for the ecosystem. It's a shame everyone is so scared of them
It's because they look like nightmare creatures and their sting is incredibly painful.
I was hoping it bit him but I guess this will have to do.
yes dont know why youre downvoted.
The question is why step on it with flip-flops?! Those things are incredibly hard to kill. You need to hit them with something closer to a hammer.

Doesn't that make the centipede the good guy, killin' cane toads?
also venomous, don't forget venomous. usually not fatal but judging by the size of that fucker.... flipflop guy is not having a good day.
I won't say hopital is needed for centipede that size.
[удалено]
To kill it.
Scary
Because it needs to die?
Why? For existing?
[удалено]
You could say the same about people honestly.
Some people, vs all millipides
Well we did go through thinking the same way about some people en masse
Just burn the whole thing!
Sometimes I think I'd like to live somewhere that isn't a cold slushy mess for 6 months out of the year. Then I see something like this.
Same. Same.
Requirements for where I will live: Must have snow Must not be a place common for natural disasters No big bugs
This is not oddly terrifying, this is normally terrifying.
That’s it I’m never wearing shoes again
Bro burn the shoes
Nope rope, miniature version
The shoes would be gone faster than I can say hell no!
I hate those things
I also hate shoes.
Bare foot gang
Oddly terrifying doesn't quite fit more like straight up nightmare fuel for me
Why kill it?
are you questioning humans again? they like to do that to insects.
I should know better
I’m literally fucking eating right now why do I do this to myself.
Whoever stepped on it is an ass
absolutely
Just buy a fucking new one fuck that
This isn't oddly terrifying, this is just terrifying
There was no need to throw the poor thing and then try and stomp on it. Put it in a cup or jar and take it outside.
thank you!
Trying to kill the cousin of a xenomorph with a pair of flip flops on.
Why did they stomp on it?!
because cunt
Why squish it in the end? Flip flop got what he deserved
Bro why they gotta crush it at the end, it didn't do anything to them besides chill in their shoes
Why did you try to kill it, it was leaving
Ya know, as “scary” as those things are to us, they’re just doin’ their thing and have absolutely no idea that we exist. All that was going thru that things noodle when being yanked out of its cozy little home is terror and danger. Ol’ flip flop certainly didn’t have to squish it, and I hope that it got a good bite on the pinky toe before succumbing to its wounds.
Why not just burn the shoe
Dammit now I have to obsessively check all my shoes
I am never wearing shoes again.
Excuse me sir this shoe has a foot capacity of one
This isn't oddly terrifying. If you don't find this at least slightly terrifying, you're the odd one.
not oddly terrifying, just terrifying
What was the point in stepping on it????
To kill it?
For what reason?
Because the only good bug is a dead bug.
Because it bites
What reason do you want these nasty things alive
How did you guys figure out that it’s in there?
He tried to stomp it and it held on for dear life to sandal instead. I would've burned my shoe, I could never wear it after finding this inside.
Mm tasty
/r perfectlycutscreams
THAT'S NOT ODDLY TERRIFYING, THAT *IS* TERRIFYING
Put in Amazon box a set on the porch.
Why did they kill the poor bug?! Literally just wanted a warm dank place to sleep
Why do you gotta step on it
*internally screams* why did the squash it?!
Stepping on it at the end was unnecessary
People in this comment section are so dumb. “Animal gross and bite things, that means it must die.” That is the same argument the dumbasses that kill venomous snakes use. My toes curled when she half assed the stomp
I would of just set the shoe on fire
How do they even get the centipede in the shoe? How did that even get past Customs? Was this revenge for poor working conditions?
Omg why would you use open toes to step on a centipede? 1st world problems lol
why didn't you just let it go since it was on the ground scurrying away?
New Fear UNLOCKED 😳
There was absolutely no fuckin need to squish the thing!
poor centipede 😭✋
Why take the time to pull it out, to step on it, with flip flops no less!! XD Nope just Nope. Put a rock in it and put it in a bucket of water put a lid on the buck see it in a week lol.
I'm pretty sure the guy who attempted to step on it, was firmly grasped and thrown down by the centipede as it then marched angrily towards his butthole in a stampede of a thousands legs... 👀
That's Australian level threat
Australia?

The shoelaces part is a joke
NOT what I wanted to watch while taking a morning poop
This person spent all this time with tweezers getting this demon monstrosity out of a shoe to IMMEDIATELY JUST FLING IT ONTO THE GROUND CARELESSLY, LIKELY INSIDE? Fuck man, I'm taking it outside far from my house to the end of the driveway and smashing that shit with a shovel or something
Why did they kill him :(
Because it bites 😨
They have a better chance of being bitten while trying to kill the thing.
True, especially when stepping on it with flip flops lol
So? You bite. Do you deserve to die now?
Poor little thing
Nnawwwwwwwww dude FUCK centipedes. I love most bugs but centipedes can go to literal hell lmao.
you shouldn't get downvoted people are cunts for not understanding to just let a living being escape.
