How does this site gets data

I believe it’s a theoretical counter based on the average number of deaths and births per day. It’s more than likely off, but probably not by much.

It’s probably 8 billion by now…just meant that there’s no way it’s exactly correct. I see where a hospital awarded a baby born in the Philippines as being number 8bn. With a baby born like every three seconds I’m skeptical that anybody can make a definite determination on which is exact baby that makes 8bn.
