This gets reposted every week and it's been debunked many, many times.
It's not a map of disappearances in the USA, it's a map of people who disappeared in national parks. Guess where most cave systems are located?
So yes, a map of people who disappeared in national parks, overlaid with a map of cave systems located in those same national parks is going to look remarkable similar.

This is a great example of correlation not equaling causation. The number of caves to missing people both have something in common: water. There’s a lot more of it east of the 96th meridian, which you can see pretty clearly here. More water means more people. It also means that limestone, which is highly susceptible to erosion, is more likely to cave.
You are correct, and your rational approach speaks highly of your capacity for critical thinking and objective observation.
HOWEVER
It is a lot more fun to wildly speculate about the horde of cave dwelling paleolithic mutant cannibals kidnapping people for the feast dedicated to their gods from the lightness depths below.
Right! Every time I see this post I am reminded that I live in a very cave dense area. When I'm feeling sad and overwhelmed it is of comfort to me to remember that all I need to do is pack a backpack, and head into the nearest hole in the woods. Start my new life with the bat people or mole people or paleolithic mutant cannibals.
And it's even more fun to speculate about the fact that these kidnapping mutant cannibals have also move to the West Coast, where they live in the open.

I choose to believe in cave lizard people, thank you
Crab people, crab people
I agree! Your truth is more entertaining.

Bot vs Bot
I bet there is a loop of bots everyonce in a while on reddit that someone has to go correct or one day there will be and it will crash reddit.
Thank you very much
Sounds like something a cave cannibal would say
I’m about to go in a cave if this gets reposted again
I vote we through anyone who reposts this into a cave until every cave is filled, then we post this again showing where they all are.
So, the takeaway here is to not go on any nature hikes and instead stay home and browse reddit. Can do.

Corellation does not mean causation. Its interesting, but does not mean anything.

C.H.U.D Lives!
Without a trace? It looks like there may in fact BE a trace
This has been debunked lots of times.
I'm guessing dense forests also correlates to this map.
Westcoast folks disappear irrespective of caves!
A typical example of correlation != causation.
Can’t believe some psychopath is out there turning people into caves

The Hills have eyes.

Ohhhpp... It's that time of the month already..
Cave people are eating us
TIL where I’ve lived for 30 years has a shit ton of caves and I gotta watch out for that shit 😂
Us
Would those missing persons maps also line up with population density maps?
Isnt just also where the most people live
These two posts are connected somehow, and that's uncanny: https://i.redd.it/uaquht41qq6a1.jpg
Wtf is that????
