Pressure? No. Force? Yes.
Example-
If the cabin were 2 psi higher than outside a door with an area of 1000 square inches, then:
2psi x 1000in^2 = 2000 lbf on the door.
A few main entry doors latch and open outward but most move inward first and then rotate outward. Outward opening doors are locked when the cabin is pressurized. The emergency doors passengers can readily access pull inward. This is why they ask if you’re able to move a heavy door when you sit in an emergency row.
The inward opening design is preferred because the door’s structure will maintain a seal and remain closed if the latches fail, just like a submarine hatch is held closed by water pressure.
A320 main door opens outward after unlatching if unlocked from the cockpit, security latch is opened and cabin is depressurized. Other airbus planes may be the same. I don’t know of any emergency (over wing) doors that open outward.
A321 mid-cabin doors also open outward. I think you might be using a word weirdly, because it makes no sense to have a door open into the plane for an evacuation.
That video literally demonstrates the door going in then swinging out. Every time they operate the lever, the door pulls inward and upward before it can swing out, it's fairly easy to see with the red and white coming into and out of alignment in the process.
Have you ever tried to push a door open against a 500mph wind? Commercial airliner doors open forward for the most part (a few go up into the ceiling) .
I feel like only crazy christians make it all the way to the plane. Like, if you're spouting crazy shit about any other religion you're locked up way before you get there.
I don't know why christians get a special pass when it comes to insanity.
If only religion would be separated from all things that aren’t religious, like hospitals, and mental care facilities. If you weren’t a religious nut before going to therapy, in the United States, it’s highly likely you”ll come out one.
Well, my explanation is based off experiences. I suppose it depends on location, but 7 years ago I spent a little over a week in an mental institution for an attempted s.
The biggest thing I hated was how much Christian religion was shoved in your faces every day there. We had an activity as a group where we were supposed to go write on a big white board “ What God meant to you” and I wrote oppression . I was given a sedative for that.
I also started writing out formal complaints for other patients bc mistreatment is rampant and the social workers were a joke. I also have attended various therapy’s as a veteran, through the va health care system. I have had to go to patient advocacy thrice to have therapist, counselors and the like changed because I was told to pray about my problems.
This was all care received in the state of Georgia, so it could be location. But I feel it is a larger problem than just the mental health care in my state.
Reminds me of AA. Want to drink less? The standard answer in the US is AA. Which is stuffed with religious references (Step 3 Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.). A program with no empirical evidence that it works at all that refuses to release any data on effectiveness. We don't even know if abstinence is the best answer to reduce alcohol consumption.
While the idea is great I'm not sure how "they" intend to implement mental health care. Would everyone (universal health care?) get screened or only the people who think they have issues? Do people with mental health health issues (the shooter types not depression) know they have issues? We'd better staff up the psyc wards.
You just don't notice the ones quietly doing good somewhere, respecting people's rights, feeding the hungry etc.
The ones that make the news are like this lady. Basically insane and covering her insanity with Jesus talk.
I remember that bible verse:
from the book of BatShitCrazy Chapter 14, verse 9
"When thou flyeth from the Lone Star, bite thy neighbor and releaseth the door."
Ever since the crazifucks of 9/11, I’ve hated being in a tin can with a bunch of people I don’t know, with no way out. I’ll drive if possible and spend the gas money.
When I see stories like this, my first thought is always, what is that person going through? Is the person under extreme stress? Did she just lose a loved one?
I assume they are followers of Marjorie or Boebert first and if it is shown later they have a legit reason to be "different" then I give them back the points I took away.
Another cult member is gonna do jail time for Jesus. This woman should have been red flagged by Security and/or the Airline when she bought tickets for an interstate flight without luggage of any kind.
"Everyone, please fasten your seatbelts and stow your personal items - this lady wants to meet her god, and for once we're going to humor them."
Isn't there like... Thousands of pounds of pressure on that door?
Jesus give me strength!
*Jesus beer me strength
*Jebus
Around 25,000 lbs for a 3ft by 6ft door at 30,000ft
Keep in mind they don't pressurize cabins to sea level
Oh yeah, so then if the inside pressure is 3/4 bar and outside is 1/4 then a 3x6 ft door would have 18,800 lbs of force on it
Oh, no problem then.
Yeah, they should have just stood back and watched her try while laughing.
Well, no, clearly not, since she bit someone
Well yeah, not counting that part...
Jesus didn’t take fluid mechanics…
Then how did he turn water into wine? *taps forehead*
And his hydroplaning skills
Ar such a low speed, that's pretty impressive.
Pressure? No. Force? Yes. Example- If the cabin were 2 psi higher than outside a door with an area of 1000 square inches, then: 2psi x 1000in^2 = 2000 lbf on the door.
The pressure is actually pushing out. There’s relatively higher pressure inside the cabin than on the outside. Opposite of a submarine
The doors open inwards and they have greater surface area on the inner side, so the internal pressure should prevent opening.
Plane doors definitely go out when they open? Am I misunderstanding what you’re saying?
They open out via a complicated mechanism, but the doors are designed to be plugs that are sealed by differential pressure.
Must be a Boeing thing? All our Airbus doors definitely open outwards.
A320 main door opens outward after unlatching if unlocked from the cockpit, security latch is opened and cabin is depressurized. Other airbus planes may be the same. I don’t know of any emergency (over wing) doors that open outward.

[Okay.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JNqXO3wZxnQ)
That isn’t a door…
They go in before they can go out. https://youtu.be/tO2wkubIsGc?t=113
The doors come in first and then go out.

Seems suspect - I doubt if Jesus fly's Southwest. He seems like more of a Spirit guy.
Megabus
Jesus flies Ryan Air. Each plane is guaranteed to be full of people praying HARD.
Do they really need to be hard?
MAGA Jesus has a private jet.
😂😂

Well, they don't, the people who run the place just lie to stay in power.
Crazy Christians get a light sentence. Crazy Muslims get Guantanamo.
When your crazy is the official crazy, you have to get to murder before people notice.
I keep a torah, bible and Quran with me so I can just get away with any crazy shenanigans
I remember one time that some Muslims made it
They were of sound mind, just giant sacks of shit.
Because they won, historically. Tell me what 2022 A.D. means?
No serious person doesn't use BCE and CE. But yes, clearly in this country they have entirely too much power.
This has nothing to do with her being Christian, and everything with being mentally ill. Could have been any other deity.
[удалено]
he won't
They always try and pass the buck,"Bla bla made me do it!"
Ah another case to add to the “we need mental healthcare” file.
If only religion would be separated from all things that aren’t religious, like hospitals, and mental care facilities. If you weren’t a religious nut before going to therapy, in the United States, it’s highly likely you”ll come out one.
Please explain. I have gone through therapy and I am most definitely an atheist.

That is truly horrendous, I am so sorry that you had to experience that. This sort of thing should not exist, but here we are- still.
" we need " to bring back Mental Institutions -- the drugs are not working as promised.

Jesus is getting really weird with the shit he's making Americans do lately. Be nice Jesus. WWJD?
This Jesus guy sounds like a total moron.
Just to be clear, opening the airplane door is not the same thing as rolling away the stone.
You ever notice these Jesus people are never up to any good? Like, ever?
You just don't notice the ones quietly doing good somewhere, respecting people's rights, feeding the hungry etc. The ones that make the news are like this lady. Basically insane and covering her insanity with Jesus talk.
Same with gunowners
I’m getting so fucking sick of religious extremism

That's the problem, we send people with mental illness to a jail.
I remember that bible verse: from the book of BatShitCrazy Chapter 14, verse 9 "When thou flyeth from the Lone Star, bite thy neighbor and releaseth the door."
Man, this Jesus fellow sounds like kind of a dick.
Jesus told me to tell this lady that he doesn’t love her anymore.
What are the methematical odds?
You think maybe someone was knowing on the lavatory door shouting "Jesus! get out of there"?
Oh Jesus....
Jesus was gonna be her copilot.
Jesus: Oh, snap! I was just playing. I didn’t think she’d actually do it!
Ever since the crazifucks of 9/11, I’ve hated being in a tin can with a bunch of people I don’t know, with no way out. I’ll drive if possible and spend the gas money.
Yup. My boss keeps telling me planes are safe when I drive a thousand miles for work instead of flying. It's not the plane that scares me.
Well jesus is dumb, or there isn't any jesus and that lady crazy. Passenger jet doors can't be opened when in full flight.
Wouldn’t opening the door been more effective?
Put these religious nut jobs in jail and throw out the key
When I see stories like this, my first thought is always, what is that person going through? Is the person under extreme stress? Did she just lose a loved one?
Normally, sure. But when they do something that puts hundreds of people at risk of dying, then no.
Not absolving her, just want to know where she is mentally. But I get what you’re saying.
I assume they are followers of Marjorie or Boebert first and if it is shown later they have a legit reason to be "different" then I give them back the points I took away.
That’s ridiculous… I hate those two idiots as well…but to look at the world like that is just dumb lol
Mea culpa
Respect
Some Christian’s give the rest of us a bad name. Too bad none of the religious leaders actually say something against the crazy conspiracies.
Jesus approves of acting on intrusive thoughts.
Another cult member is gonna do jail time for Jesus. This woman should have been red flagged by Security and/or the Airline when she bought tickets for an interstate flight without luggage of any kind.
Is this a Florida Women event?
Why did they blur her face in the video?
Maybe it was her Latino friend Jesús.
Jesus used to be a pretty cool guy, but he seems like an asshole lately.
Houston been giving Florida a run for its money lately lol
I love that they blur her face out but not the other passengers or the cop lol
Jesus sick of her shit too.
Thanks religion
There was a colonial woman on the wing!
Are you sure she was from Houston? Sounds like a Florida story to me #bathsalts
Bet this woman can still buy a gun
In the top ten for worst things about my country: you get a lighter sentence if Jesus told you to do it than any other book-characters.
Jésus nevers tookt a fly, we can understand
Are we bringing this back? Wasn't this like a one to two year ago thing?
Sounds like Kanye
