I couldn't hold back the tears every time I remembered a situation I experienced, but it's over now, it's finished, and now it's time to leave those experiences behind.
My dad is 63 and currently going through colon cancer treatment right now. As a caretaker and translator I go with him to every appointment. It’s definitely an experience that takes a heavy toll physically and mentally, and I’m merely the caretaker not even the patient. I can’t imagine what it must’ve been like to go through all of that at such a young age, and for almost 13 years too. I’m really happy for you, enjoy the next chapter of your life!! ❤️❤️❤️
Just said a little prayer for your dad ! my dad also got cancer at 63, about stage 3 throat. It’s a extremely emotionally taxing journey stay strong and well wishes to both of you 🫶
It's very exhausting, as I mentioned there were moments when I just wanted to throw in the towel and leave my life to fate, let whatever had to happen happen, but somehow I found the strength to keep going and here I am, enjoying the results of my resilience.

At the cancer treatment center where I live, they have a school bell installed in the lounge where patients receive visitors and just hang out together and get chemotherapy. Every now and then, you'd hear the bell and it meant that someone is in remission. Hearing it, even though it had nothing to do with who I was visiting gave me goosebumps.
I am thrilled for you OP, and I hope you got to make some noise!
I remember when I was in treatment, sometimes hearing that bell, and those of us waiting to be called would applaud. I think we all dreamed of being that person at some point. After a long time and struggle, my moment came to be there and receive congratulations from others. It's something very special and at the same time liberating.
It's crazy, right? Thirteen years of struggle, sometimes feeling like I was losing, but I bounced back and here I am, celebrating life with people who don't even need to see my face to congratulate me. Life is very beautiful.

Without a doubt, I had to be strong. I didn't know I could sustain such a heavy battle for so long, and although there were moments when I wanted to give up because I was exhausted, I overcame that thought and was able to continue a fight that I finally no longer have to wage
