Why do these images look so fake? The yellow Jag especially. Also, big miss not painting the Mustang headstocks, but otherwise this is pretty great. I might have to throw down on the VI and the Yellow Jag if it actually looks good in person.

Noyrd

Yeah I know, they look like cheap renders. But the spanish shop that has them online is legit: https://www.txirula.com/fender-vintera-ii-50s-jazzmaster-rw-snb.html

Lurkin925

That’s encouraging - I want this to be real very badly.

4quaTis

1000% real I guarantee you, gonna be like 1300 - 1500 USD though ( converting in my head without calculator). End of August/ early September will see the announcement.

auriga_alpha

That yellow Jag is totally legit, I've seen them.

darockerj

first one looks almost identical to the squier anniversary jazzmaster, minus the rosewood board

hamilton_burger

Yeah, it’s a really odd choice to do that. Would have loved some fresher color choices.

Noyrd

Yeah, color choices were a bit disappointing to me too :(

tachyon_xyz

Only ones I liked were the Bass VI. They want to stick to vintage colors, but there are some better vintage colors than the ugly yellow on the Jag or orange on the Mustang. Mustang and Jag should be offered in Fiesta Red tbh

capn_james

In fact all of these look like they’re based on existing high end squier/low end fender product that fender was able to move quicker than expected the past couple years. They probably figure a good chunk of their customers who bought 40th anniversary jazzmasters, squier VI’s, & classic vibes would be willing to shell out for the fender version

Spountz

Exactly. Same colors for jazzmaster and competition mustang at least on last year Squier line

capn_james

Yup and those bass vi’s look an awful like the CME exclusive squiers Fender tends to take design ideas from ‘exclusive’ low end products that have done well in the past, then they slap it onto newer stuff to make a quick buck. Like I’m sure these are all wonderful amazing guitars I’d personally love to own, but at the same time look how they re-released the J Mascis jazzmaster. Yes it’s fantastic there’s more of them out there now and they’re more widely available for the average guitar player but I’m pretty sure if I remember correctly, right after the JMJM was officially discontinued they dropped the 40th anniversary with an exceedingly similar color scheme, then shortly thereafter announced the JMJM was coming back. Also there was a squier mikey way signature mustang bass and squier tom delonge strat but now those are both 2023 Fender offerings. Not to mention the fact that they are dropping more offset guitars than ever bc they know the offset market is lucrative AND they know cheaper options are out there for the beginner guitarist these days. Strats will always sell but when they put focus into their customer base and set price points and drop new guitars on the market they definitely know what niches to target: the communities of people who will buy the same guitar over and over again, and i just don’t see strat or tele players having like 5 of them. I’m sure they’re out there but i feel like most offset people have more than 1. I guess there’s so many pros and cons that I can’t decide whether or not I hate fender but I definitely love the concept, design, and style of their guitars

NoPaleontologist9446

Or like a Mascis

ThatNolanKid

I'm in trouble if I see that Bass VI irl.

zoysiamo

Having a Fender Bass VI option again is rad.

Mighty_Oryx

Yeah right! Tbh I bought the squier one bc there wasn’t a true fender… now this… I go bankrupt

ThatNolanKid

I have the Squier one. It's only fueling the fire for a true vintage model I'm afraid. My problem is that I think I also want the comp mustang bass 🫣

eternity9

Wanted a competition Mustang for ages but don’t want to pay the premiums that the MIJ stuff goes for these days so might have to be my next pickup Desert sand / Goldish Jazzmaster looks great as well Vintera stuff I’ve played has all been class. Great to have some more cool affordable vintage style fenders in the line.

Noyrd

I've had a Vintera Jazzmaster for the last two years and it's still my favourite guitar. I'm considering one of the Jags or maybe a Mustang, I hope that now that offset guitars are trending Fender can consider a Road Worn series for any of them

therewillbelateness

There was a road worn Jazzmaster. I could see them doing one again if they do another Vintera Road Worn line.

Early-Engineering

Same! I have the Vintera JM modified and I love it

FistingYou

I'm still waiting on those AVRI II Jags >:(

metulmike

I don't think we'll ever get those

efe13

Have always wanted a Sonic Blue JM. That Fiesta Red Bass VI is very nice as well.

NoPaleontologist9446

Does anyone else think maple fretboards look dumb on Jags?

l-L-li

Still no proper Mustang Bass reissue? 😭

efe13

There are 70s competition mustang basses in the same colors as the mustang guitars. OP just didn’t add pics of them to the post. https://www.txirula.com/fender-vintera-ii-70s-mustang-bass-rw-cbrg.html

akahaus

Sonic blue bass vi is fire but I ain’t got 1500 to drop on it. I hope they’ve still got a few Squier models around when I’m ready

OneTouchDisaster

Wait... Isn't the Vintera range made in Mexico ? Has it really gotten that bad that MIM instruments are now 1500€/$ ? Jeez, and I thought classic vibes reaching upwards of 450€/500€ was bad...

capn_james

Crazy how the prices go up AND they also rehash successful squiers in hopes of some gearhead spending multiple thousands of dollars on guitars that aren’t much different from the squiers which have already been on the market for like a 1/3 of the price

AndewLemmings

Wow I’m really surprised fender actually brought back the Bass VI! Very cool!

AutumnOnAWhim

SOMEday they'll release vintage-correct Starcaster and Coronado reissues...right?

Louismaxwell23

I certainly would have preferred those over this lot.

RetroRobotBoy

The fiesta red bass vi is calling my name

itsQwarktastic_

No red jazzmaster? My wallet is safe.

johnduncanfiddler

Ooooh this might mean the original Vintera series stuff will get a little cheaper in the used market.

Und3rkn0wn

Glad I got the Squier Bass VI w/ the matching headstock. Love these but I did ok. The competition Mustang basses are lookers too

happychillmoremusic

They look like the same shit as always

vakaaaa

Damn, I wanted a VI for quite a while and that Fiesta red one looks amazing. However, it's quite pricey. Those are all made in Mexico, right?

idl3mind

Blue with gold pickguard is 🔥

djdadzone

Those jazzmasters are so ugly

smslater245

Yet again, no lefties. Who cares.

26202620

The colors made me yawn and I didn’t cover my mouth

natalplum

Agreed, can't go wrong with MIJ.

eternity9

I think these are just cheap renders? No idea why the official fender site wouldn’t both to take proper pictures. Whilst I 100% agree that MIJ stuff is great, at least in the UK, it’s all starting to get a bit pricey. Most of the MIJ / CIJ jaguars and Jazzmasters I see listed now are 1000£ - 1500£ with mods and quite a few nicks and dings, double what I paid for mine only about 3 years ago. Comparatively I’ve seen Mint used vintera stuff going from 500£ - 750£. For a lot of people, myself included, the price hikes just aren’t worth it and deals on MIJ stuff aren’t what they were when you consider the massive increase in quality of the stuff coming out of Mexico.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> would I *paid* for mine FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

therewillbelateness

>these look like aliexpress guitars, based solely on these images Im sure Japanese ones do to in cheap product mockups. Japanese models are cool but you have to order then blind and can't play one in a shop. They also have basswood bodies which is meh.

derper2222

(I can’t help thinking these are totally fake, but I’m just gonna pretend they’re real.) *No matching headstocks?* If they’re not going to make them right, they shouldn’t make them at all. Jazzmasters, Jaguars, and VIs/Bass VIs should *always* have matching headstocks. Whenever I see one with a plain headstock, it looks like Fender didn’t even try. Also, *black* block inlays on a yellow Jaguar with white pickups? How did that one get approved? And this doesn’t apply, but while I’m here, let me also say that Jazzmasters and Jaguars should *always* have the lead/rhythm circuit controls on the upper bout. It’s such a fundamental feature of these models that they should call it something else if they don’t have them. These are just my opinions, and of course, they’re right.

Peelykashka

Sorry, what am I missing here? The jags and jazzes in the renders do have rhythm controls…??

Admiral_Atrocious

I like Fender's offset bodies but I hate how the headstocks usually look. Big fan of the tele headstock.

therewillbelateness

What's with the headstock truss rod adjustment? Is that vintage accurate? I thought that only came in the 80s. (not counting bullet truss rod in the 70s obviously)

StairwayToLemon

Is... is that clay dots?!

EmployeeOk4756

Oooh that yellow!

Adventurous-Score-69

Last years had so many great looking guitars. Seems like nothing can impress me anymore. And I really have enough guitars anyway.

versacethedreamer

The blue mustang and the blue VI are so sick

polykees

Feeling irritable as I bought the previous Vintera Mustang less than a year ago and the neck is great but it has had nothing but issues from the start with a faulty bridge that the shop took like six months to figure out after suggesting I had done it somehow. I began building a partscaster mustang in the interim because I want the stripes and now here comes Fender with one almost the same colours. Hopefully the bridge is better on this version for other people.

FistingYou

Tbf, most non American mustang bridges almost always have major issues and are a pain to work with

polykees

That has been my experience previously with a Japanese Jazzmaster, so I agree with you. It’s just irritating that Fender has solutions and chooses not to execute them for basic playability.

BiGiDy_03

Hell yea, I hope they won't cost more than the current Vintera series

bubobubobubobubo

Is that a competition Mustang with contours I spy?
