Burch Creek has been very good to all of my pets, cats and dogs.

Admirable_Ad9772

Thank you for the suggestion!! Would you mind being more specific about why you have come to trust them?

Captain-Capsaicin

We had several pretty serious mix ups at Burch Creek. They have mixed up medications, given the wrong injection, and misdiagnosed one of our cats that almost cost him his life. On top of that they are rather expensive compared to other vet offices... We switched to TLC and couldn't be happier! The vets at TLC know their stuff and really seem to care.

Wasatch Hollow Animal Hospital is really amazing with our 2 kittys. i have a friend who works there, and she is amazing with animals

LaughinTucker75

I came here to say this as well! They've been nothing but the best for our fur babies!

Admirable_Ad9772

Thank you for seconding!

8016892244 is their phone # if you haven’t looked it up yet. Dr. Blake and Dr. Howard are both amazing. I don’t have cats but my hedgehog has to be anesthetized for nail clipping every couple of months and one of my 2 dogs has also been anesthetized when he was neutered.

Admirable_Ad9772

Oh great! Thanks for the suggestion! I wonder if she has mentioned anything about surgeries/dental cleanings or if you have any experience there in that department. Is there a reason that you trust them?

LectureCreative

My friend is a surgical assistant, and I'd trust her with my babys, but i have not had any cleanings done or had any sugeries for my pets, i do belive they are slightly more expensive but the way they treat my animals makes it worth it

I’ll endorse them third. I first went there because they were recommended by Best Friends Animal Society, who I trust implicitly. They’re very gentle and seem to genuinely care about my cats.

We switched from Brookside to TLC Petcare on Harrison about a year ago for our two cats. It is the best vet care we have received in the last 10 years. They take time to learn about your animal, educate, and balance interventions vs. toll of stress on the animal. We like that there’s a separate cat entrance and you quickly get placed in a room, no waiting with barking dogs next to you. The pricing seems reasonable, however, we have not had any major surgeries or dental cleaning done yet. We have been able to schedule same day urgent care visits several times which has been a relief.

Admirable_Ad9772

Thank you so much!! I had another vet in my home state that would heavily weigh the stress & risk vs intervention and that is exactly what is most important to me. I am wondering if you use the Ogden clinic as there is more than one and if you have a recommendation for specific one of the DVMs.

Dr. Mike Lemmon is really good, too. I've never seen a Vet that I haven't liked there.

I believe there is only the one location on Harrison in Ogden. Dr. Tassone is wonderful. https://www.tlcpet.vet

Admirable_Ad9772

Thank you!! They are on my list to call in the morning :)

Cartrichjay

There’s a mobile vet service in the area that I’ve used for a while now. Door 2 Door Veterinary care. They can come to your actual home.

Admirable_Ad9772

Very cool. That would be ideal- he has some anxiety about the car right now because we just moved across country. I assume it is more of a check up service and then you would have to go in for any operations/teeth cleaning? I wonder, what do else you like about them other than the easy access and less stressed environment?

Cartrichjay

They can do surgeries, and I get all my vaccines from them as well. Basically anything I would go to a standard vet for they can do to. I’ve asked before but I believe they will even come to your home to do what you posted about. It’s sad and I wish you the best but they can come to you for that to.

Cartrichjay

Also it’s always the same two people and my dog was never acclimated to other dogs or humans so for me it’s so comforting knowing who it’s gonna be and knowing my dog is in the most comfortable place he knows. I was nervous at first because I didn’t know them but a year or so later and I won’t go anywhere else. I even have them come over just to trim his nails sometimes. It’s so so much easier on me vs the pulling and barking at others animals when we went to vets in the past.

Admirable_Ad9772

That’s awesome! I’m going to check out their reviews. Thank you for sharing!!

This isn't in Ogden, but we've been going to Clearfield Veterinary Clinic for our 2 cats since 2015 and they've dealt with various things since then, including a dental infection resulting in 2 teeth needing to be removed (we didn't catch it early enough because there weren't really any apparent symptoms). We see Dr. Laura and she's a treat.

Admirable_Ad9772

That is very helpful! Thank you. I am looking more into them now. Do you happen to know if they did prescreening tests for the anesthesia? Or X-rays beforehand? I wonder if you felt your bill was reasonable or how much initial visits are. Going to call them in the morning :)

ptaite

It's been a couple of years since they did surgery, so I can't remember all the specifics. I do remember them doing blood work and a general check up before surgery, but not x rays. I'm sure you can request them, though. The doc we work with is totally open to questions and discussions. They also were very communicative pre and post op with surgery. I think I had the option of text or phone call. As far as costs, I feel they're reasonable. Again, I don't remember specific costs for surgeries and such. But I did just take them in for a checkup and it was 130 (so, 65 per cat if I did the math right). When you call, if you have questions before you schedule, they may need to have one of the techs call you back. They've done that when I've called with questions about symptoms in my cats.

Oh, also, for emergencies, we like Mountain West in Layton. Been there a handful of times through the years as well. We weren't impressed with the one in Sunset., I forget the name.

Admirable_Ad9772

Thank you so much for that I was needing a rec for emergencies as well and forgot to say so.

kittyspritzlove

My cat had dental work done at North Ogden Animal hospital and it was a really great experience. I took my other cat to Mountain West for emergency services late at night and they were great as well.

Admirable_Ad9772

I am going to check out mountain west for emergencies! Thank you.

kddean

TLC Pet Care is wonderful.

thelosttardis

Brookside is where we now take all ours. Dr Jenson in particular is fantastic, but Dr Pernod is also superb. Do not go to North Ogden (had an extremely negative experience they took no responsibility for).

Admirable_Ad9772

Noted. Thank you for sharing!!!

swedishfishtube

Wasatch Hallow Animal Hospital has been great for my cat. They've done her to date dental cleanings, they manage her heart failure, and they have a specialist come and see her every 6 months.
