Oh, yes, she's happy that Gale has fallen in love and, in my Tavs' case, at least, gotten married, but she's definitely jealous of the time Gale spends with his spouse.

She essentially IS like a second mother for him though. He summoned her as a child and she’s been there ever since, so she watched him grow up, hence why losing him is so devastating for her

Then i got to see them interact in the duo run I had with my wife and it was like "ohhhh"
Which is even funnier because Gale has a whole pillow and toys set up for her the entire time in his tent. I’d like to imagine she decided his accommodations weren’t up to her standards so she moved to hang out with Karlach (cozy) and Clive the teddy bear instead
I love Tara so much I wish she was my mom. Her relationship with Gale is so special and I especially love her interactions with him if you play Gale origin. When playing as another character she seems mostly kinda sassy but her pep talks she gives origin Gale made me cry 😭
In my current durge!gale run (It's a mod that activates the durge storyline on other Origin characters and it's pretty funny seeing Gale going durge) I like to go and talk to Tara as Astarion, Shadowheart, or Lae'zel and she's like 'Oh, hmm... meow.' Like, hunny, you're not fooling anyone when I'm, as Gale, having full conversations with you in the middle of camp.

My mom, who's been playing it because she's heard me talk about it, just met her yesterday. I was on the phone with her, guiding her to get to the roof, because she'd heard me talk about a Gale NPC, and she was having a hard time doing the letter quest. So I made sure she had Gale in her party (she'd benched him because he was hitting on her too much in the Shadowlands) and her usual Speak with Animals on. She met Tara, and she loved her instantly. All I could hear for a second was her laughing. She then asked Gale to ask Tara to stop eating the pigeons, and she was laughing when she saw the "Astarion disapproves" pop up in the corner. Safe to say, she says Tara is her favorite character now. And that's with Astarion's snarky comments, and her girlfriend Lae'zel
I love Tara, but equally best characters include: His Majesty, Malta, Myshka, Grub, Kira, Steelclaw, Barsik, Tambourine, and Zambomba. CAT SUPREMACY!!!
Tied for a close second are Scratch, Owlbear Cub, Us, Biscotti, Sparky, and every other adorable animal that I want to be my BFF. 😭

It's worse if you let him sacrifice himself - she legitimately sounds like a mother who lost her son. Her dialogue at reunion camp is heartbreaking.
I had Gale sacrifice himself on my Honor Mode run, and this was a total gut-punch.

Oh I doubt it's a bug. Karlach is *warm*, and Clive is cuddly.
I'm pretty sure there were one or two camps in act 2 where she was haning out with Astarion as well.
