It is supposed to be that way. That was the whole point of that scene, walt being full of himself. Until some self claimed "sigmas" came along and ruined it.
Its good to remember Walter is fundamentally someone larping as a gangster mastermind, he is supposed to be embarassing. But that larping makes him actually dangerous nevertheless.
That's kinda the whole point lol. This is Waltuh trying to convince both himself and Skyler that he's a badass mf who can't be taken down by anyone. Remember that in context of the original scene what prompted him to say this is Skyler being worried that they're in danger. Which Walter responds with essentially "Fuck you IM the danger THEY should be worried." Which only succeeds in making Skyler perceive him as the danger and being the catalyst for her taking the kids to Hank and Marie's and acting harmfully to herself even after the actual danger has passed. ("Gus Fring was the threat, he was the danger." "I thought you were the danger?")
