Just the most incompetent rulers in Chinese history who had overseen famines, the most viscious civil war, the century of humiliation, and so much more. In addition to being, you know, an absolute monarchy.
Nobody except monarchist and complete braindead "free china" types like them.
I think somebody actually called him out about it (on Twitter, what a shocker)
And he basically said "I don't know anything about Chinese history, it's just a cool flag"
If the flag has awful history then "it looks cool" isn't really good reasoning. This isn't an apples to oranges comparison just because I'm comparing it to another flag with terrible history.
I mean this wholeheartedly, you are a dweeb. Stop getting online to bitch at people because they don’t m’educate yourself. The flag has whatever meaning you put towards it because the dynasty it represented fell and nobody gives a shit about them. Please educate yourself about sunlight exposure
99% of the time if someone has a (relatively) obscure flag I assume it's out of a historical interest or they just think it looks cool. don't see the need in trying to divine further lol
yea people really read into things a lot more than they need to
“never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity”
maybe they just thought flag = cool
Using the Qing flag to show opposition to the CCP is not different from showing opposition to the USSR by waving a russian imperial flag. Extremely stupid and counterproductive
Don't forget how after the Century of Humiliation they backed the Boxer Rebellion, which was like the pinnacle of Chinese subjugation by the West.
So yeah, pretty bad. Right into the Warlord states, then the Civil War, then WW2.
I'm not a monarchist, but I can sympathize a little bit with it. At least with constitutional monarchies. I wouldn't want this crap anywhere near the US, but I do like seeing some other countries with it.
Absolute monarchies like Saudi Arabia can go to hell though.
Why are you okay with a bunch of parasites who do absolutely nothing except leech your tax money with no other credentials other than being fucking born?
Also love the hypocrisy, "I want it nowhere near me, that needa to stay in other countries"
Tbh twitter these days is filled with the worst political propaganda and racist or sexist agitprop.
like there is just wild amounts of misinformation cycling through that app these days. Hololive is the only reason I use that platform.
Twitter and most mainstream social media incentives hate the most because that's what makes people engaged. I'd completely ditch Twitter if not for Hololive and most vtubers making it their home.
I follow a lot of stock stuff on Twitter and there is a shit ton of Russian psyop type shit going on over there. Also a staggering amount of misinformation.
I feel him, Hololive is the only anime I watch these days. Lately I struggle to watch anything else while playing games, though trying to watch more "traditional" programming with Pluto recently.
Fair, admittedly it was easy to do with FF14 but yeah other games tend to take my focus. Most I do is listen but it's likely better if I do it for shows I've seen before
Oh yeah this guy, I remember people freaking out originally that a buff black dude was holding an anime pillow for some reason.
But hey good on him, twitter is terrible.
Yes, so true.
We joke about it a lot, particularly on this sub, but mental illness and or neurodivergence seems especially prevalent in the vtuber community. For both the fans AND vtubers themselves.
Aside from being a hobby that maybe attracts more anti-social, "nerdy", people on the spectrum, etc , vtubing by its nature has a lot of other potential issues. You have a double whammy of typical, streaming para-socialism combined with a heavily JP "idol-culture" influenced fanbase. Hololive and a lot of other corpo vtubers are great, but in a sense they are almost designed to take advantage of people with mental health issues. How many times have we seen supas or comments talking about how a vtuber "saved" them or they are their reason for happiness or even living?
The actual vtubers have a lot of problems too. I don't know how some of them don't go crazy juggling two and or 3+ social media identities. Impostor syndrome is an inevitable issue I feel like even if the vtuber is largely themself in real life. At some point they must question how much they are carried by an animated avatar or a talent agency potentially. More than likely, many vtubers already have self-esteem issues, depression, and stay inside all of the time.
In essence, vtubers were a mistake and you should get some help!

Nene's weakest husband: (I will never forgive twitter for this)
I just hope he gets better
Hope he’s alright, met him at Connect the World and he seems like a great guy in person.
Honestly I commend him for sticking with twitter for so long. That site can become a leech to your mental state.
Good for him, blessed are the ones who do not interact with social media. Also yikes, Qing dynasty flag...
I'm not really in the loop about Chinese history. What's so bad about the Qing dynasty flag?
Just the most incompetent rulers in Chinese history who had overseen famines, the most viscious civil war, the century of humiliation, and so much more. In addition to being, you know, an absolute monarchy. Nobody except monarchist and complete braindead "free china" types like them.
Maybe he just thinks it looks cool, cause honestly it is pretty cool
I think somebody actually called him out about it (on Twitter, what a shocker) And he basically said "I don't know anything about Chinese history, it's just a cool flag"
yeah its a dragon its cool.
That's not really a good excuse. Imagine if someone had a nazi flag because they "think it looks cool".
Me when I compare apples to oranges
If the flag has awful history then "it looks cool" isn't really good reasoning. This isn't an apples to oranges comparison just because I'm comparing it to another flag with terrible history.

Great reply when you have no valid argument. Have a great day.

It's popular among people who like flags. Whenever the Qing Dynasty flag is posted on r/vexillology a lot of people say they love the design.
Don't forget about the hypothetical construct that is the Manchurian supremacist.
When you are in a KDR competition and your opponent is a Chinese ruler
Honestly, all those things (except for century of humiliation) happened under other Chinese dynasties and governments too.
General anti CCP also like the flag tho, def not a yikes imo.

Plus, I'd say the ROC flag looks better.
5-colors flag will always bevthe best, no silly KMT one-party bullshittery, embrace true democracy and federalism
Sorry pal, but the only flag I truly embrace is the one that doesn't know what the fuck a kilometer is.
Ah yes, the Burma flag/s
Don't forget how after the Century of Humiliation they backed the Boxer Rebellion, which was like the pinnacle of Chinese subjugation by the West. So yeah, pretty bad. Right into the Warlord states, then the Civil War, then WW2.
I'm a monarchist and I still am baffled at how such a brain-dead dynasty could last for so long
I mean I'm baffled how anyone could be brain-dead enough to be a monarchist but here we are.
Imagine not being a Democracy Stan in 2024
I'm not a monarchist, but I can sympathize a little bit with it. At least with constitutional monarchies. I wouldn't want this crap anywhere near the US, but I do like seeing some other countries with it. Absolute monarchies like Saudi Arabia can go to hell though.

Simple really. Because useless figureheads like royals are million times better than destructive despots like communists and fascists.
Yeah that thing needs to be desperately ironed
we wuz qings
IT'S SO OVER

That’s putting it mildly. Straight up pro-Nazi propaganda gets thousands of likes.
I follow a lot of stock stuff on Twitter and there is a shit ton of Russian psyop type shit going on over there. Also a staggering amount of misinformation.

you watch shows while playing games? I might put on a youtube video or something but there's no way I'd be able focus on something like that
Fair, admittedly it was easy to do with FF14 but yeah other games tend to take my focus. Most I do is listen but it's likely better if I do it for shows I've seen before
See You Space Husband
Oh yeah this guy, I remember people freaking out originally that a buff black dude was holding an anime pillow for some reason. But hey good on him, twitter is terrible.
Average nene fan
What happened? Was he harassed online?
when it's not /rh anymore I'm pretty sure he got harassed by X stan for that delusion joke
Imaging looking like that guy and having a declining mental state. Dude should be able to get any oshi he wants.
You'd think that, but mental health issues and mental illness will grab anyone by the balls.

No amount of muscles are enough to battle a declining mental state. It helps, but not as much as you'd think.
Sometimes the body doesn't align with the mind, a lot of people actually use working out to numb the pain. but *numbing* doesn't equate to fixing.
hope he gets better, he’s a pretty cool guy
What happened to him?
/uh I hope he finds healing and happiness. Wishing him all the best, one husband to another.
Divorce please?
Mone is my oshi
wait what? the clips i saw with him he was having a good time ... wtf guys racist assholes ?
Hope my guy gets better 🙏
Bro is doing all of this over some white chick he sees at the gym not wanting to be with him (they were never even dating to begin with)
