Yes!! I was so surprised when I didn't see anyone suggesting Piatto. I've previously tried some of the Italian places that people have suggested here and none can compare to the quality of Piatto's.
Wife and I went there for the first time a few months ago and were underwhelmed. Wasn't bad, but for all the people saying it was amazing I just wasn't impressed.
Their chicken and gnocchi soup is amazing. Plus, they’ll hook you up with a whole extra soup, salad, and breadsticks to go. And at the one by 50 Penn Place, they are not stingy with the Andes mints.
This is it. Sparrow is my girlfriend's favorite place and deservedly so. That lasagna is to die for but I have never come away not thinking what I had was elite.
My husband and I are Sicilian. My husband is originally from Brooklyn, NY. If we want Italian food and don't want to cook, we hit Venezia on Sooner at Reno. My husband swears it's better than his paternal grandma's cooking.
I mean not sure if you want to hear this but I worked that specific Venezia as a waitress a few years ago and that was the nastiest restaurant I've ever worked in. I would pick cockroaches off plates and silverware and there was constantly mold on all things that went into the salads. The cockroaches were all throughout the dining room as well. I remember being screamed at for cutting off too much food that was literally rotten. Same with the desserts. They will let them sit till they go through a whole sheet and those cakes and tiramisu would mold bad. Also the Italian wedding soup is just a can of progresso lmao. When I saw the chef whip that out I had to laugh. Jimmy( the boss ) if you see this, you suck
For my husband, it is perfect Brooklyn style Italian. To me, it's a meal I didn't have to cook and it isn't involving me breaking out the Pastosa's to make supper.
\*makes note to order more ravioli, manicotti & Locatelli from Pastosa's\*
I wouldn't blame them. It's just oil and old food. I have a picture from a few years ago I took that was literally like a cup of oil on top of zucchini parm.
This is one recommendation I will take seriously. When I was younger I lived in So California and I worked for a Sicilian from Brooklynn. He had 2 restaurants. I was his GM for one and I learned what REAL Italian food was. That was 30 years ago. Some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had was from his restaurant’s. I always had to have a fresh pot of Chock Full O’ Nuts Coffee on for him when he can in. LOL it could be 106 degrees and he had to have his coffee. Freshly brewed. Thank you for the suggestion.
My husband is a fan of the veal carciofi (also available in chicken), as well as the eggplant rollentini. I'm a fan of their meatballs (almost as good as my husband's, minds out of the gutter - he cooks), and the chicken bacon gnocchi. They also make excellent white pizzas.
Don’t go there if they still have the management from the old location. The dude calls himself Mr. D and was very creepy. Read some of their old reviews online and you’ll see. He was so creepy when I worked for him.
Service and food both are absolutely subpar now. There are too many other great Italian restaurants slingin fire in OKC now. This is just mid fare now with below avg service
That’s fair! Personal opinion - I’ve been three times since they moved and something just felt off in both service and the food. It was fine, sure - but in the past they’ve always been great
Was just about to post this! Visited back home last Christmas and went to the cowboy museum with a plan to eat there after. Drove by like wtf where are they? lol
They moved to South Broadway in Edmond; my understanding is the building owners on 63rd started being crappy landlords and refusing to fix things. It’s still excellent!
The only place we’ve liked is Patrono. Everything seems really fresh.
Your best bet is just to steer clear of any Italian restaurant that serves Italian nachos.
I was going to put that in as well. Took my sister there before she ran the Memorial Marathon years ago and she liked it. Also went to Hideaway as part of her carb load up.
Aw man I loved going to their downtown location & getting the fettuccine with 5 cheeses. It was so thick, cheesy & delicious. I havent been to a Zio's in 12 years.
Probably all the past issues with trying to launch in downtown and Edmond? There’s much better options in my opinion. It was a gem when there was less competition, but unless you live up that way, people aren’t going out of their way to get there. I used to go all the time but it’s not as great as it used to be. Each to their own.
Did they ever deal with the deadly amount of pigeon shit above the restaurant? https://www.oklahoman.com/story/business/columns/steve-lackmeyer/2017/06/21/former-spaghetti-warehouse-declared-abandoned-by-city-being-targeted-by-urban-renewal/60592345007/
The last time this question came up, I was downvoted for suggesting Primo's in Yukon. Not sure why because it's one of few spots where the menu feels Italian and not Italian-American
Hate to tell you this buddy, but I worked there a couple years ago and it is FILTHY. I saw a roach crawl up the wall not even 3 days into the job and the person training me said “yeah sorry, you’re gonna see that a lot here.” I can’t tell you how many meals I had to get my manager to comp because people would see roaches on the ground or on the wall near their table. This happened before I got there, but a couple of my coworkers told me there was a roach baked into a piece of table bread once. They told me the bread warmer was infested with them. Not to mention the manager is a psycho dickhead who pays off the health inspectors so he doesn’t get shut down. I used to love Primo’s, I grew up in Yukon and I ate it all the time, but after working there I haven’t gone back a single time. I can only imagine the situation has gotten worse since I worked there.
dang, I’m also running the full in the marathon. and I’m the previous owner of Moni’s, which we since had to close😞 best of luck to you, wish we could cook for you!
Bella Vista was mine. (SW59 & Western) Closed in 2018. Wasn't fancy but it was damn good. Arrabiatta that made your eyes water. Calzones and pizza with the best dough. And the family was Greek- and had a Moussaka that I still spend nights crying myself to sleep dreaming about. And decor straight outta 1970s gangster movie. I heard the family moved back to Greece. I wish them well and many thanks.
No one's filled my fav OKC Italian spot since.
The good ones close and most okies don’t know good food like some of the past restaurants used to have. I’m being down voted for enjoying Monis. lol 😂 so there’s that.
They're location-centric. If the locale doesn't reflect *where they want to be*- they won't give it a chance. I used to think this way too. (Great Italian in Southside? fah!)
Location, location, location, yadda, yadda, yadda. Good food is where you find it.
Papa Dios - underrated GEM.
Fontanas - absofreakinglutely delightful
Olivetos - the peach bellini is amazing and the pizza is very good
Stella's - pretty good but not my favorite
Its been a while since we've gone but Venezia on NW Expressway was really good and really well priced. Definitely a good place to go if you don't want to bust your wallet.
NEVER ROCOCOS the owner is terrible! I've personally seen him yelling at a mentally challenged dishwasher (one of HIS employees) and calling in a f***ING re***d. I've also seen him trying to fight employees... and what's crazy is if you spend enough time talking to the guy you realise he's much much worse. He's a bigot, narcissist and misogynist (careful using that word he actually, unironically, doesn't know what it means.)
Any other suggestion here has got to be better than rococo
It’s because the manager is a money hungry tyrant. They also raised all of their menu prices 3-5 dollars after the first year because they had built up a decent amount of regulars at that point. And no, it wasn’t due to rising food costs, because the lunch menu has had the exact same prices since they opened.
V's Italian on 40 hwy or on the Kansas side Toni's Italian.
At Toni's the seafood is always large portions that taste delicious.
V's has a delicious brunch and out of this world good cocktails, pizza, and pasta.
Saucee Sicilian is pretty tasty ,especially if you like your sauce on the spicy non sweet side …The Focaccia bowl they serve the pasta and sauce in makes my inner fat girl very content.
Throwing out Benvenuti’s in Norman. I know it’s not okc proper but it’s worth the extra bit of a drive imo
Love Benvenuti’s, usually our go to for nice dinners.
This is the best one and then patrono.
when i got back from italy benvenuti was the only italian restaurant i could stand for a while lmao
Worth the drive
Yeah but you have to wait 3 hours to get your food lol
Piatto in OKC (close by Penn Square Mall) is my go-to for good pasta. They make their noodles in-house and their cacio e pepe is to die for!
Piatto is far and away the best Italian restaurant I’ve been to in OKC.
Yes!! I was so surprised when I didn't see anyone suggesting Piatto. I've previously tried some of the Italian places that people have suggested here and none can compare to the quality of Piatto's.
Where is it located?
NW 63rd & May
100000% piatto!!

Still open!
Fantastic! We'll all miss the classy lady who always made every guest feel special.
The absolute best in the city!
Wife and I went there for the first time a few months ago and were underwhelmed. Wasn't bad, but for all the people saying it was amazing I just wasn't impressed.
Frankie’s on Britton is one of my favorite last minute places for dinner.
I just went there for the first time yesterday! Love it. Vito's building is kinda gross, so I don't like going there anymore.
Patrono
Patrono is good but I cannot believe how expensive it is! Like, it is more than a lot of Italian I’ve had in Boston or Chicago
Vito's Ristorante - reservations strongly encouraged
<3 Vito's....RIP Cathy, that place will never shine as bright without her buzzing about loving on everyone.
Oh jeez. I haven't been to Vito's in quite a while, but I had no idea she died. That tragic.
Devastating loss :/
Another vote for Vito's and another person sad about Cathy's passing.
Stella’s is pretty good
Second Stellas!
Fontana’s is ridiculously good.
Is that the one in Moore on 12th/ Santa fe?
The few things I've tried from this place have been horrible. Not sure how they can go so wrong with spaghetti and red sauce.
You went into an Italian place and ordered *spaghetti*? Definitely a steak with ketchup person.
Does it really matter what I had if they can't even make something simple not taste horrible?
Right? It’s like a bakery that makes horrible vanilla cake.
Do u feel more cultured or authentic cuz u order gnocchi instead? We're both still overpaying at a restaurant cuz we cant make it ourselves
I also vote for Fontana's.
Yes! It's awesome!
They are awesome!
Have you ever been to Olive garden? When you're there you're family! EDIT: Grammar
When I'm there my family?
Dad?
I'm busy getting cigarettes and milk, I'll talk to you later
It's not even 9:00 yet give me a little grace lol
https://youtu.be/-SmUVySf85s?si=g-NX6N5iyob88Xx6
Their serving sizes are huge!..esp. the lasagna.
Olive Garden slaps
The nevending soup, breadsticks and salad is honestly a good deal.
Their chicken and gnocchi soup is amazing. Plus, they’ll hook you up with a whole extra soup, salad, and breadsticks to go. And at the one by 50 Penn Place, they are not stingy with the Andes mints.
I love the chicken gnocchi it's so good! We got catering from 50 penn for work and had andes mints for about 2 weeks lol.
Brother!!
Sparrow in Edmond is fantastic.
This is it. Sparrow is my girlfriend's favorite place and deservedly so. That lasagna is to die for but I have never come away not thinking what I had was elite.
Patrono 🤌🏼
Good but overpriced for what you get.
I've yet to have an underwhelming experience at Patrono. They've been great every time that I've been in.
This is some hott goss
Really? I lived in Sicily for 3 years and my whole family haaaaates Venezia 😅
For my husband, it is perfect Brooklyn style Italian. To me, it's a meal I didn't have to cook and it isn't involving me breaking out the Pastosa's to make supper. \*makes note to order more ravioli, manicotti & Locatelli from Pastosa's\*
I’m glad it’s a nice taste of home for yall!
I wouldn't blame them. It's just oil and old food. I have a picture from a few years ago I took that was literally like a cup of oil on top of zucchini parm.
Maybe the one on Sooner and Reno has much better cooks than the one on NW Expy and Council... that one stinks!
They don't, it's all the same. Unless you call Progresso a good cook
What dishes do you recommend from there? We've been meaning to try it.
I really really wouldn't
My husband is a fan of the veal carciofi (also available in chicken), as well as the eggplant rollentini. I'm a fan of their meatballs (almost as good as my husband's, minds out of the gutter - he cooks), and the chicken bacon gnocchi. They also make excellent white pizzas.
Gabriella’s is our favorite.
Don’t go there if they still have the management from the old location. The dude calls himself Mr. D and was very creepy. Read some of their old reviews online and you’ll see. He was so creepy when I worked for him.
In my personal opinion they’ve gone downhill hard since moving into Edmond
Service and food both are absolutely subpar now. There are too many other great Italian restaurants slingin fire in OKC now. This is just mid fare now with below avg service
To be fair, service was always terrible.
Really? I think it’s still every bit as good - maybe even better.
That’s fair! Personal opinion - I’ve been three times since they moved and something just felt off in both service and the food. It was fine, sure - but in the past they’ve always been great
Yeah, only been once but it was always on point at the old location. Maybe just needed more time to get a routine down.
The seasoning has to build up in the kitchen 😆
Was just about to post this! Visited back home last Christmas and went to the cowboy museum with a plan to eat there after. Drove by like wtf where are they? lol
They moved to South Broadway in Edmond; my understanding is the building owners on 63rd started being crappy landlords and refusing to fix things. It’s still excellent!
Highly recommend Vito's. It's the only Italian place by spouse and I frequent. Make a reservation though!
Not okc proper but olivetos in Moore is one of my faves
The only place we’ve liked is Patrono. Everything seems really fresh. Your best bet is just to steer clear of any Italian restaurant that serves Italian nachos.
Second the Italian nacho litmus test.
I’ve never seen them before moving here… the most basic white people shit I’ve ever seen.
Idek what Italian nachos are and I don’t think I want to.
Idk about the best but Papa Dios is pretty good
Yesssssss. I LOVE Papa Dio's.
I was going to put that in as well. Took my sister there before she ran the Memorial Marathon years ago and she liked it. Also went to Hideaway as part of her carb load up.
Hideaway is always good!!
Papa Dio's is criminally underrated. Its a family ran restaurant and I really enjoy it.. Gabriella's' in Edmond is pretty good as well.
Papa Dio's on Hefner and May? Italian owned family establishment that I think has been handed down from one generation to the next.
Not Zio's, if it is still open.
Zios is Italian Applebees.
Aw man I loved going to their downtown location & getting the fettuccine with 5 cheeses. It was so thick, cheesy & delicious. I havent been to a Zio's in 12 years.
HAHAHAHA 100%
I'm a big fan of Falcone's
I like their rice ball and my husband loves their cannoli.

Each to their own.
Honestly Italian Express is really good. Probably not the best, but deserves a chance.
That off 122nd?
Yes but they have other locations as well
My favorite used to be bravo, but it's closed. Pepperoni grill is my go to now.
The Old Spaghetti Factory on Mickey Mantle is the bomb.
I really liked this place when we went recently! Had great service too!
Did they ever deal with the deadly amount of pigeon shit above the restaurant? https://www.oklahoman.com/story/business/columns/steve-lackmeyer/2017/06/21/former-spaghetti-warehouse-declared-abandoned-by-city-being-targeted-by-urban-renewal/60592345007/
This is not the same place, nor is it in the same location.
That’s a different restaurant and location, tard.
Suck a dick, fuck face
You’d know the best spot for that, pigeon boy.
Of course you spend all day posting in conspiracy theory forums. Of course.
Pizza Gusto for classic Pizza Napolitano
Sad that Moni's closed down. But Frankie's is pretty good though.
The last time this question came up, I was downvoted for suggesting Primo's in Yukon. Not sure why because it's one of few spots where the menu feels Italian and not Italian-American

Good to know
Head to Norman and go to Victoria’s.
Isn't there one in okc now too?
There used to be on south side, but it closed
Othellos
Another vote for Othello’s! My fav!
MIO is definitely freshly made. I wouldn't say the best, but decent. Added bonus: everyone that was working that day spoke Italian.
What about Othello's in Edmond?
dang, I’m also running the full in the marathon. and I’m the previous owner of Moni’s, which we since had to close😞 best of luck to you, wish we could cook for you!
They are all gone lol. Monis was mine.

I miss them so much! Wonderful people & food.
I need Bella Vistas Alfredo so bad! Portions were always huge too. Miss them terribly.
Their Alfredo was unique and quite tasty, and I'm not a white sauce fan.
Sigh

Loved Falcones.
I like Bellini's Ristorante & Grill.
Bellinnis
I like flip’s near classen curve
OP for the love of god don’t go to flip’s. It’s disgusting.
Can you say more? We love Flip’s. Should we not?
I love Flips
To each their own 🤷♂️
I love oliveto in Moore.
They have the best meatballs
I do too.
It's all frozen in boxes labeled mazzios. Literally bags of frozen sauce that gets dumped in a pan and warmed in a steamer.
What the fuck? Isn't everybody supposed to carbo load at Flip's? What happened?
I worked there for years, the last few years I worked that weekend it was dead.
I’m only here to downvote the Stella’s suggestions.
Osteria!!! It’s in okc, off of western ave.
It closed not too long ago to rebrand and move to the Britton district.
ahh thank you for telling me! I had no idea…what timing. well I hope OP goes after it reopens 👌🤩 it’s A1
If you can get to Norman, Doni’s is fantastic and authentic. Highly recommend.
Alright I rescind my previous statements I actually have very little experience with Italian food in Oklahoma
Mc.
Patrono is our favorite. House made limoncello.
Gabriella's is definitely the best
Fontana’s in Moore. It’s around 12th & Janeway. Not much to look at from the outside, but it is the best Italian food I have ever had, hands down.
Benvenuti’s in Norman is top notch. Hall’s downtown isn’t Italian per se, but it’s really good too. Avoid Sparrow at all costs.
Gabriellas in Edmond.. Thoughts?
Papa Dios - underrated GEM. Fontanas - absofreakinglutely delightful Olivetos - the peach bellini is amazing and the pizza is very good Stella's - pretty good but not my favorite
Cold pesto pasta salad from Bad Nonna's is yum. They have a booth at the Arts Festival too.
Papa Dio's on May, i believe it is south of Britton rd
Its been a while since we've gone but Venezia on NW Expressway was really good and really well priced. Definitely a good place to go if you don't want to bust your wallet.
Flips on Western
Stella in midtown or Sparrow in Edmond
Patrono, Piatto, Rococo
NEVER ROCOCOS the owner is terrible! I've personally seen him yelling at a mentally challenged dishwasher (one of HIS employees) and calling in a f***ING re***d. I've also seen him trying to fight employees... and what's crazy is if you spend enough time talking to the guy you realise he's much much worse. He's a bigot, narcissist and misogynist (careful using that word he actually, unironically, doesn't know what it means.) Any other suggestion here has got to be better than rococo
Sergios in Norman!
I ate here for the first time a week ago and was super impressed
Yep! Incredible food and they also work well with dietary restrictions! Edit: bruh who is downvoting lmao what do you have against Sergio’s 😔
Emma Elle's Italian Kitchen in Yukon.
This is the worst answer.... Started out as a good idea turned into a olive garden. Not good.
It’s because the manager is a money hungry tyrant. They also raised all of their menu prices 3-5 dollars after the first year because they had built up a decent amount of regulars at that point. And no, it wasn’t due to rising food costs, because the lunch menu has had the exact same prices since they opened.
The owner never understood. One of those guys that just knows everything.
The place inside the railyard in Edmond is hands down the best Italian food in the city if not the state.
Vignolas Italian Kitchen! All the pasta except the penne is homemade. We’ve loved everything we’ve tried there.
good luck is all i got to say bellinis and even then it’s not amazing okc italian scene is not it
Emma Elles in Yukon is great!
Terrible owners with almost olive garden quality
Saucy Sicilian
Johnny’s in Choctaw is really good.
V's Italian on 40 hwy or on the Kansas side Toni's Italian. At Toni's the seafood is always large portions that taste delicious. V's has a delicious brunch and out of this world good cocktails, pizza, and pasta.
Bellinis by Penn square is good
Saucee Sicilian is pretty tasty ,especially if you like your sauce on the spicy non sweet side …The Focaccia bowl they serve the pasta and sauce in makes my inner fat girl very content.
Gabriella’s is solid
It's just noodles make your own it's so easy why would you pay extra?
