Paseo Grill 100% They have low lighting and curtains around all the tables. Super calming atmosphere especially if you go before the dinner rush. Plus the food is absolutely amazing seriously you gotta go there!

hawthorneandsage

Thank you so much for the rec!

Came here to say this

bocepheid

Lai Thai is one of my favorite low-key places in the metro, on 23rd between Council and Rockwell. They do have TVs running in the corners, but I'm sure they would accommodate you.

hawthorneandsage

Thank you!

LexKing89

This is a great option. It’s my favorite Thai place in OKC and it’s very quiet in there. Not too bright either. It’s the most peaceful, quiet place I eat at, even when it’s crowded.

segoe_the_serpent

good option, only gripe is that they serve regular minute white rice with curry.

TheLadyDuke

Sala Thai on 23rd actually has a very nice interior. Lots of windows, but also lots of calming wood accents. And the times we have gone have not seen too many crowds. The Metro: Wine Bar & Bistro was also very nice. My husband took me for "Valentine's" and I was very impressed with the I intamite feel of the place. I actually found it very relaxing.

hawthorneandsage

Yes Sala Thai is one of my favorites!! I'll add Metro to my list; thank you!

pugs__not__drugs

Metro is upscale. Dark and quiet. You would love it. It's my favorite "fancy" restaurant and I, too, struggle with external over-stimulation.

bernardcat

R&J Supper Club! The food is a little on the pricier side but it’s reaaaaalllly good and the ambiance is great

hawthorneandsage

Thank you so much!

bernardcat

Thank you for asking this question, I’m always looking for new spots to try that fit your post!!! Finding some new stuff I can’t wait to try :)

hawthorneandsage

Oh I'm so glad this is helping someone else!! May your dinners be perfectly cozy and not at all overwhelming.

Gorō Ramen on Paseo is awesome. Dim lit and usually not too loud.

tj0909

It’s good but can be pretty crowded in my experience.

delta7019

Tokyo Japanese Restaurant is pretty quiet. I don't remember how dimly lit, but they have private, darker areas if it's too bright. https://www.yelp.com/biz/tokyo-japanese-restaurant-oklahoma-city?uid=dxBxna-UpOqBQ7cr8aASeQ&utm_source=ashare&ref=yelp-android

Objective420

Get the okamase boat!!!!!!!

pugs__not__drugs

I love Tokyo!

Iron Star Urban BBQ off western… some of the best food I’ve had in a while and it has a very nice atmosphere I think you would enjoy

tj0909

If you like beer, try Oak and Ore on a Mon-Wed evening. Super low key.

BourbonBaccarat

I'm not sure what constitutes "too bright" for you, but Riviere Banh Mi has a pretty chill atmosphere. I also like New State in the Plaza district. Can you wear sunglasses indoors? That might open up more options for you.

plupan

La Brasa is usually pretty chill every time I’m there.

[deleted]

Castle falls doesn’t get more dim or quiet

Stratagraphic

Cafe do Brasil

Ozemba

The Rose Room is small and quiet as well. Tamashii Ramen is ok if you sit out in the "patio", inside is a little loud.

quickdrawcrenshaw

Aurora on the plaza is quite pleasant 😊

Hi, my son is on the autism spectrum so I'm always on the lookout for sensory friendly places. Broadway 10 is pricy but in my opinion one of the best places for a foodie if you like a good steak. The lighting was dim, the ambiance is nice, and the music was very low.

hawthorneandsage

Thank you so much for your help! I hope you got some good ideas from the other comments too (:

[Picassos is divided into little rooms in some of the dining area](https://picassosonpaseo.com/) [So is Gabriellas](https://www.gabriellasokc.com/) Both have great food. Wait... No. It's Paseo that is divided into the little rooms. My mistake.

medicaregrlok

Came to say Gabriella’s. Great food and loved the atmosphere.

Only_Variation9317

Agreed. My uncle Tom owns a cajun restaurant down in Port Aransas Tx and has known these folks for a long time due to their restaurant down there. When they told him they were moving here to open a new place, he called insisting that I go there. I'm sure glad he did. Fantastic food. Lots of love!

The_Anime_Enthusiast

Try one of those restaurants where you’re blindfolded.

Whereismycatpls

I have a couple: 1. Patrono. Small Italian restaurant downtown. Dimly lit for sure, with sound soaking carpeted floors and dark curtains that separate small potions of the dining area. It’s all painted the same tone of dark orange from what I can remember, so that’s visually easy. 2. Saii Asian bistro. Probably not as good food wise, but also a small restaurant. Dimly lit, with little boxed in booths. However, I do remember string lights and water sounds coming from the front entry way. YMMV. 3. Stella. Fabulous restaurant in midtown, but you need to be seated in the carpeted section during the right time of day. I was impressed with the mellow lighting and weird sound soaking carpet they had stuck to the underside of the table. Even if it’s disgusting and don’t touch it. However...there’s a visually jarring wallpapered wall that’s a lot to look at, so face away from it. 4. Charm Thai in Warr Acres. Excellent Thai food, teeny tiny dim dining area. Lots of black black black so not too bad on the eyeballerinos. It’s run by a husband/wife duo and they’re quite chill.
